My daughter had severe crowding about four years ago and now has a fantastic smile thanks to Dr. Lu and team. He is a careful and thoughtful orthodontist. His staff is very professional - I think the longest we've waited in the waiting room over the years was 15 minutes, often less than that. My daughter went through phase 1 and 2 with Dr. Lu. Phase 1 included upper and lower expanders which makes for an uncomfortable experience for the child, but in the long run prevents having more extractions than necessary. Dr Lu did my Invisalign procedure and I highly recommend going here for any orthodontic treatment. He did an amazing job and I'm delighted with how my teeth look at the end of my treatment. I started the invisalign treatment last January and completed it after 12 months. The results are amazing! Before the treatment, my upper arch had some gaps that made it look as if I had missing teeth, and my lower arch had one tooth that grows in an incorrect position. After accepting Dr Lu and Dr. Lai's treatment, those problems were completely gone without huge pain! So far I am very satisfied with my outcome! Decided To go fix the alignment of my teeth as an adult is a big decision and at the same time a very time consuming procedure. With the braces on 24/7 for 2 years affected my social life, my career, the way I talk and the way I ate (bascially it affected everything). It turn out that I made the right choice by doing it with Newsmile Orthodontics. They have 2 locations (one in Flushing NY and one in downtown Manhattan) and I did go to both location for my appointments. The doctors there (Dr. Frank Lu and Dr. Sherrie Lai) are both very professional and detail oriented. They explain to me in great detail about what is going to happen each step of the procdeure. Also the staff in both location are very educated and friendly, they are able to answer my question in a timely fasion whenever I call. Another impressive thing is that the doctor always see me on time for each of my appointment (I never have to wait for more that 15 min), but please don't get me wrong both locations are very busy. I believe the reason that they don't have to keep the patients waiting is that they (both the doctors and the staffs) are really good at what they are doing and also they care about the patients (which is the most important element for any kind of successful business). Dr. Lu removed my braces about a month ago and I am very happy and satisfied with the result. A lot of my freinds and relative are saying I look better and smile with much more confident now. And to tell you the truth, even my own dentist (I go to my own dentist for cleaning and other issue because of my insurance plan) compliments the alignment of my teeth now saying Dr. Lu and Dr. Lai do a very good job. I am very happy that I met Dr. Lu. My research before I met him showed most of invisalign cases require refinement. But my case was so perfect that my teeth moved as he designed. Dr. Lu is great at his job, especially in contrast of my previous disastrous experience with Dr. Richard Lyons (Dr. Toothy). Dr. Lu took care to fix all the problems my previous orthodontist left me, patiently explaining answers to any of questions I had. He kept a strict schedule and made the adjustments needed at every visit. While my braces came off a little later then the predicted date, I didn't mind because he took the time to make sure my teeth were properly aligned and my bite was well adjusted. I had a braces treatment for almost two years with Dr. Lu and I just got removed the braces few weeks ago. At the beginning of the treatment, it was a little bit difficult to eat and brush my teeth. Dr. Lu explained and teach me the way to use the small brush to brush my teeth. Dr. Lu also patiently answered every question that I asked. During the treatment, I had to use different sizes of rubber bands. Sometimes I felt toothache after monthly visited, I could not eat for few days. Dr. Yu is a fabulous dentist and the staff are very efficient. I like going to the Manhattan office, I went in and was out in less than 15 minutes. Dr. Yu is very gentle during every adjustment.
