I've been using this company on an off for a couple years. I started ordering from the company again about a month ago and have noticed a few things have changed: -There seems to be more sauces I'm not really a fan of. -My fridge smells like whatever sauces or seasonings being used and I'm not a fan of that either. -The containers seem to have a lot more grease at the bottom when the food is gone than before. -The delivery person used to let you know when they were on their way to your house, now they just show up. Even though there's a delivery period of 5.5 hours listed when you order, yes...the old notice that someone was actually on their way was appreciated. -There used to be more vegetables. In one of the meals this week, there were only 6 pieces of vegetables (in the large portion). A week or two ago I complained the potatoes were burned. The company responded to my complaint. This week, there were potatoes in the green chili chicken that weren't cooked thoroughly. I didn't complain this week, because I complained the last time I ordered. But if you can't cook the potatoes without overcooking them or undercooking them, maybe you shouldn't offer them as an option. This week, I sent a message asking what the macros for the steak meal were, but I never received a response. I also included a picture of container not having a label. Their website says "Each meal varies in the number of carbs/protein/macros but are guaranteed to be healthy options. Each meal prep has labels to provided detailed description of the serving size." Aside from the errors in those sentences lol...this is the second time I've had to email the company to get the macros for the labels that weren't on the container...but this time, no one responded. I use this meal service because I used to enjoy the food, the macro labels and to make my life easier. But it doesn't seem like that's the case anymore. read more

12/11/23 Updating my review. I did speak with the owner after numerous emails and phone calls. Turns out the company is not fraudulent, but suffered a family emergency and went incommunicado for a number of weeks right when I placed my order. My order was a gift and for a specific event, so when it never got delivered, I had to find another option and was left with no choice but to reverse the charges with my bank. Once I spoke to the owner he offered to replace the meals at no cost to me, but by then it was too late. Glad the company is not fraudulent. read more

We have been ordering from Next Step off and on for over 3 years now, and our experience has always been excellent. We first started ordering after our second child was born and just needed readily-accessible healthy meals. The meals are very fairly priced, and the quality is always great. I'm not saying they are perfect, but no person or business is. The key is that they always make it right in the rare case where there was an issue. Also, their delivery people are always courteous and respectful - in particular Patricia has been so kind to make sure not to ring the doorbell late in case our kids are already in bed. Food is good. Unfortunately the service is non existent. They have dessert options on their order submission menu, they take the money, and don't deliver the goods. I mentioned it via text in a conversation with the primary phone number on their site, or was ignored. I gave it another chance, ordered again with desserts, mentioned the situation in the comments of the order, and once again my money was taken and desserts weren't included. I wrote an email stating the issue. It also went ignored. I've decided to no longer order from this company because they stole my money and have ignored all communications about the issue. I would recommend Next Step Meal Prep. I was naturally attracted to the company because how affordable each meal is and that I didn't have to do any prep. The meals tend to fill me up (I get the 12 small meals) and tasty. The only complaint I have is that after heating there is water at the bottom of the container. My easy fix for that is to dump it out. Again, the meals overall have great taste. I forsure have my favorites that I've ordered in the past and cannot wait for them to come back. The service is great! Communication is effecient, as if you have questions about your order they are responsive. Also the drivers reach out to you throughout the day until delivery. I tried several times to get in touch with the company by sending 3 emails and leaving 3 phone messages. I did not receive any response. Used it a bunch in the spring, deliveries were a bit erratic, but not really an issue. Tried to pick it back up and received a confirmation email that my order was received. Wasn't asked to pay so I followed up via email. Was then told that if they had time to make my order they would call me Sunday around the delivery window. Not a fan of having my meals contingent on someone else "having time". Just have a blanket statement addressing the missed order window. Food doesn't sit well after wednesday/thursday. I've used them for a month now. The food has been hit or miss. But they offer some vegetarian meals that my teenager loves, and it's convenient, so I've continued ordering. This week they forgot to include my snacks ($12 worth). And they didn't leave the edamame off of the meals like we requested. HIGHLY recommend! This is just my third week ordering meals (I order 12 large meals a week) and am pleased with everything thus far. Meals-- The menu rotates which is great because it creates a little bit of eagerness for me to try the new meals I haven't had yet. I have liked every meal and loved a few. Each meal has been 600 calories or less. Lots of variety Delivery-- Delivery occurs at the same time every Sunday. They send you a reminder Saturday night. The deliverer texts you when they're on the way. Makes it very effortless. Price-- $7-$8/meal. Lots of value. I've seen some services charging more than $10 The only thing I would ask them for is macros for each meal when I'm ordering. I don't get to see calories/macronutrients until I receive the meals and each has a sticker on the side. This, of course, is no reason to give them any less than a 5-star rating though. read more

I signed up and submitted my order on Monday and gotten a email back saying they received my order. However my car was never charged and honestly i probably should have called and confirm with them but no I didn't. So when Sunday comes and I'll wait at my home, no one showed up for delivery. I called and someone pick up the phone and I let him know that I didn't receive my meals, he proceeded look up my name and said that I was not in the system and that they would give me a call back. Love this delivery service. I have ordered 18 meals a week for the past 3 weeks. The best part is that the menu changes every week so you don't get tired of the food like other services. You also have the option to order small or large meals. I order the small and my BF orders the large and he says it's the perfect amount of food for him. You can also order snacks and the cheese cake is bomb (a must order). I hope the keep serving the breakfast burritos every week tho. I am very sad that i have to leave this negative review , but i have to give my honest feedback. I was really excited to try this meal prep service after reading all the great reviews and looking at the pictures of how good the meals looked. The meals were pricey but if it saved me time from cooking and cleaning i was up for it. I was delivered my meals on Sunday as promised but after trying my meals i was unimpressed. They had literally no flavor! I could've made bland rice and chicken at home for way less money. The rice was disgusting and dry the chicken was just ok. With no sauce or anything it was literally JUST chicken and rice nothing special . I ordered the orange chicken and the fajita chicken and i could t tell the difference at all in taste. Just BLAND . Don't expect these meals to have flavor because they don't. I reached out to Next step meal prep about my dissatisfaction and their advice was to "add some sauce to it next time" hmmm ok for 7$ a meal i shouldn't have to add anything . They also stated they would give me a refund "discount" which i still have not received. I reached out again and was told 3-5 business days to see the discount reflect i will be shocked if i ever get any discount refunded . If they actually do the right thing and refund more than 10$ i May edit this to add another star but for now they deserve nothing more than one star. I did not eat any of my 6 meals and it was a complete waste of money! read more
