Went in because Google suggested y'all as the first place with appointment free testing. Walked in to an empty front desk for the first minute which I actually didn't mind. Then comes in a lady with a really bad attitude. I'm sorry if she was going through something but I've never had a customer service rep be so rude to me because THEIR website informed me incorrectly. She was a white, slightly heavy set woman. I would suggest not keeping her as the receptionist because of the sour taste she gave me with every word. She also refused to check the next available appointment and asked "if I had checked the website" with about as much tone one could have. Well-it's the next morning and let's just say I didn't sleep!! I was awake till 1am in pain-then woken up again at 6am in pain! Last night was one of the WORST experiences I've ever been through medically in my life! I'm 50 and I fell last night and rolled my ankle. I went there RIGHT after it happened..I didn't want to worry about having to shower and everything today because I knew it's not going to be easy....I also knew-I was going to be in pain today so I figured it was better to get it looked at last night. This place is supposed to be an urgent care facility. Well-when I walked in barely able to walk I got the impression that was not the case. It was almost as if they didn't want me there! It was 7:30 and I realize they were getting ready to close but if you don't want patients showing up then clarify that at the damn door! No patients after 7:30 or something!!! I'm KICKING myself in the ass for not going to the emergency room instead trust me! Let's start with the wait time almost an hour to be seen. The girl before the nurse practitioner was nice but she looked at her watch several times.. Again-like I was inconveniencing them or something. Then-I was told by her that they could do the X-ray but no one was there to read it. I was brought in a room to sit there for another hour if not more. The first girl came in and took my temperature and tried to inform me that I was running a temp of 100.6. Ummmmmm- I should have left then! I was out running errands all day yesterday and if my temp is anywhere past 99 I'm a huge ass baby-I would have been home in bed! There is NO way in hell my temp was 100.6! I know my body and if I'm a smidge over 99 I feel like I'm dying. My second clue I should have RUN!!! As I'm sitting there the adrenaline is starting to wear off because like I said I went straight there after my fall! I was also under the impression that I was paying $75 to see a doctor! Had I known it was going to be nurse practitioner I would have left and went to the emergency room! I should've been told there weren't any doctors working and given a choice in the waiting room! I don't have her name right now but trust me when I say I'm going to get it! I'm going to file a report against her if I can..The adrenaline had definitely worn off and I was really starting to feel the pain. I was pretty much crying in the room because it was starting to hurt really bad. Then-she finally comes in and starts talking pain management. She starts asking me if I can take naproxen. I'm not really supposed to because I have a hiatal hernia and well it does things to your digestive system. Then-she says well I'm not going to give you any pain meds with a full prescription. Right then and there-I knew what she was insinuating! Like I was some 50 year old woman (druggie) lying and just there to score! I of course got extremely upset over the fact that she wasn't going to prescribe me anything for pain. Not only that they didn't offer me any damn crutches!! I asked for them when I first got there..If-they had them in the building. I started to get really upset she looks at me and says in a immensely condensing tone..."OH WHAT'S THE MATTER YOU SEEM LIKE YOU'RE UPSET!" "ARE YOU UPSET-WHY ARE YOU GETTING UPSET!" Are you friggen kidding me!! I was treated horribly! If I can file a complaint against her you bet your ass I'm going to! Also-when she came in the room she said she didn't see a break or a fracture-it was a bad sprain and sprains can be more painful than breaks????? I said are you sure because remember I was told no one was there to read the X-ray. At that point she seemed insulted by my comment and I'm pretty sure that's what led to her not only NOT giving me pain medication..They didn't ask me if I wanted any damn crutches either. I got up to get the hell out of and I was screeching in pain holding onto the damn walls for my dear life because I couldn't friggen WALK!!! I was almost to the waiting room before they FINALLY asked me if I wanted crutches!!! Are you kidding me?!?!??? Needless to say-I left there in immense pain and barely being able to walk out!! I will NEVER go back here and if you hurt yourself I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you don't either!! This happened 11/30/2020 my walk in time was 7:30 pm!! Whoever was on staff should be held accountable! Also-while this is still fresh in my head. After I was told I wasn't being given any pain medication I heard them all laughing out in the area where they stand. That's really professional don't you think? I'm not sure it was about me but I'm not sure it wasn't either!! The nurse practitioner that saw me was fairly young and female. I will be taking other steps to make sure this is documented further! I'm literally the nicest person-we've lived here since 2004 and to be treated the way I was last night after an injury is just wrong!!! I went into Nextcare for a visit to find out if i had the flu. Service was really great. At the end of my visit i paid my co-pay. Everything was completed i was giving a receipt showed i was paid in full. Months later i just realized Nextcare placed a 105.00 fee on my credit report. Trying get this removed is nearly impossible. I would recommend to take your medical business else where. Your credit might be at stake as well. read more

There are seemingly mixed reviews. I presume it depends from case to case and what is wrong. But, my personal experience was great. I did have to wait for a while, but nothing more than I would wait at a family doctor's office (15-20 minutes). Granted, I got there early. I was greeted by Angie, who was helpful in getting my insurance taken care of, while I filled out new patient paperwork. After the wait, I was taken back by Charles who was quick in getting the basics out of the way (BP, HR, weight, height, what is the reason for your visit?) and getting me to a room, where after a few minutes, I was assisted by Dorian Shevitz. The reason of my visit was taken care of quickly and at the same professional quality expected in any medical setting. Overall, the staff exceeded expectations. Very pleased and will always be at the top of my list when needing basic procedures done. read more

Came back to town after a long trip with pain in my jaw and a bad ear infection. Couldn't wait to Monday to see my doctor, so went to NextCare, where my daughter and her family had gone a few months ago because of a strep throat issue. Got there about 10 minutes to closing time. Waited about 15 minutes, but the receptionist was very gracious as I filled out paperwork. Dorian (physician's assistant) examined me and removed a foreign object from my ear. Then he put me on antibiotics for 10 days. It's been five days and all the pain is gone, and the ear no longer is draining. I work in the medical industry, and I thought the NextCare staff did a fine job. They were courteous, professional, and Dorian handled my problem perfectly well. I did hear a physician in the hallway, but didn't need him (except to sign the prescription forms). I'll certainly go back if I need to, and will recommend my family use NextCare if minor urgent care is needed. read more

My daughter stepped on a nail while running through the yard barefoot. We rushed to urgent care, as we thought it was a 3-4 inch nail, and only 1/2 inch was sticking out. The receptionist was friendly and processed our paperwork and payment quickly so that our daughter could be seen. After an X-ray to make sure the nail wasn't on the bone, we were taken to a procedure room for removal. Katherine Paterson was caring, gentle, and removed the nail with as little discomfort and stress as she could. A follow up X-Ray confirmed that the mail was completely removed with no fragments remaining, and we were on our way. They verified vaccination history more than once, and were not irritated when I remembered a medication allergy AFTER she sent the prescription to the pharmacy. While it isn't a place I would want to spend my Friday evening, I will definitely be back if I have an urgent need. read more

Only went there because the X-ray machine at FastMed Urgent Care facility was out. Great experience there, but I can not say the same about Next Care. Toe was broken and someone taped it with scotch tape, pulling on my painful toe during the process. No shoe to fit me, and when i asked for advice, was told it would take 4-6 weeks to heal. Had to ask about ice pack, etc... Finally looked at the botched job and decided to re-tape it properly. This place employs unqualified people. Will never go back. read more

I checked in online today for my daughter and showed up promptly. My daughter is 2 years old and had thrown up a couple times. I told the front desk that she had been vomiting and had diarrhea. The nurse called me back as if we had some super contagious disease. She said "We need to make sure that we can see you". The nurse practitioner came in and said, "She needs to go to the ER, she could be dehydrated. We can't see her here." I told her she had only thrown up three times and I've never taken her to the ER for puking. She then insulted my intelligence and said "I've worked in the ER before, I know that she needs IV fluids". Excuse me, I know my child better than you do, and she is definitely not dehydrated. I WAS DENIED PATIENT CARE. & because of that I took her to the nearest ER where the ER DOCTOR, not nurse practitioner, told me that she would never have traumatized a 2 year old by giving my daughter IV fluids. They gave her zofran, she kept it down, monitored her for a bit, and sent us home. Thank you to the ER for not denying our care. I cannot believe that NextCare turned away a sick child. The nurse practitioner there has the WORST bedside manner. I would never take a child to this place!! read more

I was very impressed with the quality of care & the concern exhibited by the staff from reception to nurse/technician to the Dr. I was able to get the help I needed & I would recommend this clinic to anyone in a similar situation. Honestly, a complete joke. Did not make an appointment (last minute sickness), and in the first HOUR we were there, they only managed to help 2 people in front of me. I have used this location before and have noticed that the P.A. really only takes 5 minutes per evaluation. (The visit before this, I suspected myself of having strep. I told the P.A., she looked at my throat, didn't even bother to test me, before exclaiming that it was indeed "strep"). You'd be better off self diagnosing off WebMD than getting a decent and somewhat "urgent" evaluation from this location. read more

The staff at Next Care urgent Care were all very friendly and helpful. I arrived at the facility at 8:30 am. I was told there would be a 15 min wait to be seen. My reason for going was a cyst (self-diagnosed). I was told it would be $145 to be seen. I don't have insurance (because screw obamacare, right?). I left the facility at 9:45 with the cyst cut out and ended up only owing $129! I would recommend this to anyone looking to get inexpensive, quality healthcare! read more

DO NOT GO TO NEXTCARE in Georgetown, Texas! I am from Maryland, and I was visiting Georgetown when I got the flu. I went to NextCare, and was treated by a nice PA. (The staff was late opening the clinic because of a "late night.") I was with the PA for 3 minutes then had a Type A and B flu test. I was out in 15 minutes total. I thought the experience was good until I got the bill. They charged me $460! I knew I had a co-pay of $50, and usually my Blue Cross insurance pays the rest. Blue Cross paid the norm for urgent care visits ($99) but, of course, wouldn't pay the rest of the out-of-line bill. NextCare then billed me $360 not even crediting me for the $50 I'd already paid. When I called to ask about the bill, they said the visit alone was $350 because I was a new patient! (Aren't most out-of-town patients new?) As an example of how outrageous this is, I just took my husband to the Johns Hopkins (the best health system in the world) urgent care facility in Maryland for the flu. He was a new patient there and was tested for Type A and B). The total cost was $125. read more

I have used this facility twice in the past. The first experience was good. Today I used Wahoo thinking I would avoid a long wait. With Wahoo (Wait at Home Or Other), you make an online appointment and the local facility calls you when your exam room is ready. After completing Wahoo I was called right back by NextCare and was told the local receptionist on Austin Ave would call me in a few minutes. 15 minutes later at 4:10pm I received a call and was told to arrive at 4:30pm. I was thrilled with the short wait at home and looking forward to my waiting exam room as promised by Wahoo online and via follow up confirming email. I arrived at 4:25pm checked in again at desk and completed a few papers and was surprised when told at 4:30pm I had to wait along with 3 others (looking pretty sick) in waiting room. I figured it would just be a few minutes. I was never told how long it would be. I waited for 30 minutes and at 5:00pm, after no one was called and 1 person left, I went up to the desk and asked for my ID and credit card back. The receptionist did her best to contact someone inside to see how much longer but to no avail. Wahoo didn't work for me, just made me upset that they didn't just call me when they had an open exam room as promised. I would have been fine coming at 5:30pm or whenever just hate waiting, after I was told I wouldn't have to. Of course I did still expect a short wait if I had gone to open exam room, but I never did get that far. read more

I've been to Nextcare twice when my high money physician was too busy too see his regular patient. They have a new CLOCKWISE system so you don't have to wait. The staff was courteous and efficient. Dr. O'Brien was knowledgeable and caring. I wish this could be my primary care clinic! I'll always return! read more

I called to inquire if this establishment had X-ray capability on site because my 92 year old mother has had head and jaw pain for days, and it might be a sinus infection. The very adolescent-sounding receptionist wouldn't schedule an appointment for us because "she's too old" in speaking about my mother. That was that. No thank you. Not ever again will I call you folks. Basic training in people skills is necessary to get any further than that. read more

My children needed sports physicals and found Urgent Care through an online google search. I was able to make an appointment over the phone and was notified by text when is the best time to check-in for our appointment. This made life a whole lot better because we didn't have to wait very long in the lobby. My daughter went to Next Care with a horrible sore throat and pain in her ears. Her throat was so swollen she could barely breathe. The nurse even commented on how swollen her throat was. The physician that saw her was wearing shorts, looked like he was ready to go fishing. Told her she didn't have Strep and to go home and take throat lozenges. Wow, like we didn't already know to do that? This is what a medical degree gets you? Paid a $50 urgent care co-pay for some motherly advice. Seeing a different doctor today. read more

I recently went to NextCare for a sinus infection and bronchitis. I was seen quickly and I felt like the Physician's Assistant who saw me was competent and friendly. My problem is that when I called to make the appointment, I was told that I would only owe my normal doctor's office visit co-pay, and then everything else would be billed to the insurance company. When I got there however, I was charged my regular co-pay ($25) plus some kind of fee for a total of $68. Get your story straight, folks. read more

The staff there is courteous and friendly, but the DR or PA that saw us was less than helpful. My daughter was in immense pain and couldn't walk. They did an X-ray and the DR/PA came in smiling and said "your bones are just lovely, we see nothing wrong." We kept insisting that something was wrong since she couldn't walk but we received no help. We were told to take ibuprofen and that's all. She didn't give us a referral to a specialist, didn't prescribe any pain relief, didn't really seem to care that my daughter was crying. Turns out she has a very serious injury to her tendon and shouldn't even be walking. What a waste of time!!!! read more

I went in that morning in pain, incredibly uncomfortable and expecting at least a half-hour wait. Nataly was very friendly and got me checked in very quickly, while she was checking in someone else! As soon as I sat down to read, I was called back by the nurse, Mariana, who I was excited to see, was moving very quickly, but not rushing me at all. She too was a pleasure to deal with and made me feel as comfortable as possible. Soon after she finished, Dorian Shevitz, P.A. came in and listened to me carefully, which is not something you tend to get when being rushed in and out of an emergency clinic. I had already seen a doctor at my regular clinic 2 days before, but my symptoms were quickly worsening. Dorian gave me an alternative to the medication I was not comfortable with and gave me some very good advice for the management of my symptoms. By the end of the day I felt 1000x better! This visit cost me no more money than it did to see my regular doctor. This is the second time I have been to this clinic and they have given me better diagnostics/treatments/medications than my regular PA or an ER Dr.! Awesome job ladies and gents!!! PS - I'm a public relations coordinator for a local vet hospital - I know excellent customer service in the medical field when I see it!! read more

I met with Dr. Porter in Georgetown, TX for a follow up workers compensation injury. I waited over 40mins after getting my vitals before he came in to see me. There was no on in the lobby when I checked in and after 30mins I went to ask when I would be seen and I was told he was on the phone with workers compensation. He finally saw me and only asked me about the administrative and legal aspect of my case. Asked me what my ombudsman said to me, what my next steps were, where I am in the process, but did not assess me for my injury. When he asked if I still had a symptom I complained about and I responded "yes," he dismissed it and said a test said I did not have that symptom. Then after the visit I went to the check out desk to get information on how to file a complaint on him and he comes around the corner telling me to get out and leave, and told the receptionist to call the cops. He said I was breaking the law by telling a "lie" on him and when I asked what law he said "liability." I had to correct him and tell him he meant "libel" and I wasn't breaking a law because I am asking the receptionist for information to file a complaint and why. He kept telling me to get out and yelling for the receptionist to call the cops after HE came around the corner to ME sticking his finger out at me and getting in my face when I was exactly where I was supposed to be for the information I was asking for. read more

When we arrived there was one person ahead of us. We sat in the waiting room for at least 30 minutes. We were called back and vitals were taken and then we moved rooms and waited another 30 minutes. The PA then came in and suggested we go to the er since a ring would need to be cut off an potentially broken finger. My sweet stepmom is bleeding shaken and an entire hour of her care was wasted. read more

Ok so I had to go back to Nextcare today after my visit 4 days ago. I could barely get out of bed my back was so bad. After trying to check in online for the first time I got a call back pretty quick saying that they were only taking walk-in at this time. When I got there they told me that it wasn't true and that I could have checked in online and waited at home. One star down. Waited about 30 minutes before I was taken back, not bad. It took a good while to be seen once I was in the patient room. Got there at 8:30, left 2 hours later to go get my meds so I could go home and start feeling better. The prescription the dr sent in apparently isn't available anywhere in my town so both I and the pharmacist have been trying to get ahold of the dr to switch it to generic but here it is another 2 hours later waiting at the pharmacy in pain and no one has called back to ok my medicine. Another star down. I am in so much pain I want to cry. read more

Absolutely horrible experience with nextcare today. Took in my infant with a high fever and congestion and was seen by Dr. Armstrong. He was by far one of the rudest doctors I have ever seen. No bedside manner or compassion for his patients. I should have listened to my gut and walked out when i had the chance. We left with no diagnosis or advice...
