This is the heart and soul of a Market Economy. It is the height of duplicity to use the word "Nice" in your fictitious business name. Fictitious it is in more ways than one. Had them adjust some uniform pants. Ok I fix cars but Granddaughters uniform pants were way too big and school starting in a couple days. The lady (forgive me I suck at names Im old) could see the fear in my eyes. Hey I fix cars, Appliances, Roofing, Tile so clothing is a new scary experience. She not only finished them fast and the price was a deal. 1. Would I have her repair clothes? Oh Absolutely. If she cant She would get me options and I like that. 2. Would I have them clean clothes? It is impossible to get anyone to answer the phone, and you can not leave a message. Alterations are CASH ONLY, even though they will accept credit cards for your dry cleaning with a minimum $15 transaction. I have only tried out the alteration once. I find their alterations prices the same as most Vietnamese neighboring alteration shops. Those priced a bit more will accept credit cards and checks, and they do press or steam your items which I feel is worth it, and they answer their phones. If I didn't need pressing of my garment after alteration and have cash handy, I might give this place another try to save a few dollars for my lotto tickets. This is the 2nd time that I've come to Nice Cleaners for my son's Sea Cadet uniform patches to be sewn on, dry cleaned, alternations and creases to be added. Once again the service was amazing and Jamie is always so great to work with as she takes such care in her customers needs. The pricing was exceptionally better than another place in the area. I had called prior to pick up and was pleasantly surprised when the items were already ready in the morning. I also got to meet V at pickup and she is also kind and friendly. I do not have dry cleaning or other needs often, but this place will always be my go to. Not only that, but the one lady there is always so pleasant and greets me by name. Again Im done. Not my month. This cleaners - mother daughter duo. The daughter is so nice and knows everyone by name. Prices are right but this is out of my way and if the experiences when the daughter is not around aren't pleasant Im not coming. Today I picked up a rug runner ($75). I waited weeks for it to be cleaned and only found it was ready by calling about something else. The mother was doing alterations on a young girls prom dress when I arrived. The mother of the girl was on couch. I waited a week for a time slot I could come by and waited several moments by the counter by the side w no acknowledgement. When asked if I could get my rug after several awkward minutes she went to get it but mom on couch looked at me sneering. Customer service niceties usually include a " I'll be with you in a moment" to me or a "would you mind if I take care of this?" to the mom w her daughter. Instead I just stood there watching her put pins in a dress not knowing if it would be a 20 min wait or 5 and then pissed off the mom. A bit more to it than this but needless to say an avoidable negative moment in an already long day. Not being one to not return a stink eye I eyed prom girl's mom as I left. Behind my back I heard comments and laughter. So - next! I can go somewhere more convenient if this is how it goes. Left me w a bad feeling for the evening. My apologies to the other half, the daughter who has always been pleasant. I feel as though my reviews are mainly about customer service anymore. I don't think I'll go back to this place after today. While I have had a decent experience here save for the occasional do-overs as they missed stains, today I got my $300 dress back with a hole where they tried to remove a stain. All I was told was that I asked them to remove a couple of stains and they tried twice with chemicals and damaged the dress but the stain is still there! She did not offer to do anything about the dress and said I din have to pay for dry cleaning after I asked if I had to... really bad! read more

Very bad customer service. I left two pants for alterations. I pinned them at the same places, so they will have the same lengths, but one pants came out longer than the other. And, both of them were longer than where I pinned them to be cut. I brought them back to Nice Cleaners, and I talked to the older lady who does the alterations. She was getting upset at me for asking her to redo them. I told her there's no reason to get upset at me. She said she wasn't angry at me, but she was angry at her daughter who took the pants without measuring them to make sure where to be cut. She took the pants and told me that they will be done by Tuesday. She wasn't nice at all, but I tried to understand her frustration. Couple of minutes later, her daughter called me. She was yelling and wouldn't let me talk. She kept on saying that they cut the pants where I pinned. I asked her how did two pants came out differently, if they cut them where I pinned, but she wouldn't listen to me, so I didn't get an answer to this. She said she would redo the alteration this time, but it will be the last alteration service they'll do for me. She called me in the middle of my work at home, yelling at me, blaming everything on me, not letting me talk, and declining further alteration services, then hanging up on me. I went back to pick up the pants, thinking that I will never go back there. Both mom and daughter were yelling at me until the other customer showed up. I picked up the pants that were undone, which I spent $32. I didn't get any refund or service, nor any apology. I've been going there for years. I usually spend about $40 - $80 every time I go there. I can't believe how I was treated today. To avoid such a mistreatment and a bad customer service, I don't recommend you this place. read more

It is SUPER hard to find a dry cleaner's that is open on a Sunday. I yelped about 5 places and they were closed on Sunday. Came across "Nice Cleaners", which sounds charming enough and screams Asian-owned. My deductive reasoning led me to believe that (typically, not always) Asian places offer better pricing in terms of dry cleaning and a more expedited service. But, who would have though that dry cleaning costs have gone up significantly in the past few years? Though this place isn't terribly expensive, I'm thinking that I could probably buy new clothes or dry cleaning tools to clean my clothes myself. However, the Vietnamese mother-daughter duo is a very endearing, honest, and friendly power team. I had a difficult stain on one of my white dresses and they told me they tried their hardest to get off the stain. I work with kids all the time, so I have a good amount of dirt and grime on my clothes, so it's completely understandable. As a result, they gave me a slight discount since they couldn't get it off. Yay, honesty! I paid a total of $27 for two dresses and two blazers. Decent pricing. I will strongly consider coming back in the future. read more

7/21/20: Several months ago I purchased 5 face masks here for my family and friends. ($7. ea., total $35.00) A neighbor mentioned the lady there was making them. I've tried to wear my mask but because the nose piece doesn't seal under my glasses, my glasses fog up immediately. (I've been wearing surgical mask in the interim which molds to the nose and under the eyes.) A few weeks ago, I remember something was posted/heard about Nice Cleaners by District 9 Councilwoman, Pam Foley. As I recall, masks were mentioned and I believe I saw something about "free" mask for seniors (65+) SINCE the pandemic began. I'm trying to find the exact post for accuracy. Perhaps she was just advising masks were available there. At any rate, I went over to Home Depot and bought some lightweight wire in the hopes that perhaps the lady, I believe her name is Jeannie or Julie, (older woman) and who I originally bought the masks from,,,,could run a little piece over the nose guard so my glasses wouldn't fog up. Since she made these masks,,,I figured it would be a quick fix. Immediately I was informed I would be charged for her to do that. I realize everyone has to make a living but as I am a senior citizen on a fixed income, it sure would have been nice if the customer service was more accommodating. Again, still trying to find the article I reference. When I mentioned the article to her and reiterated I had paid for these masks, her eyes opened very wide and she shook her head "NO". (I just wanted her to simply tack on one piece of 3" wire I provided onto ONE mask). I had planned on taking some slacks in there for hemming, but not now. Everything is just all about the $$$$$$$$$$. She is making money hand over fist with the masks being sold down there. ***Not only did I pay $35. for 5 masks,,,she tried to charge me for a "custom job" to attach a wire to ONE mask. Not a nice way to treat a senior. **Article located and attached. July 22, 2020............. **UPDATE: since owner's response today: The nose piece I refer to is simply the raised cloth part of the mask that goes over the nose. It's part of the cloth.(not any type of "extra" piece.) I love the way the owner comments without even seeing the mask. The one I brought in yesterday was Black Background, with the Monster's University pattern on it,,,,Mike and Sully,,,,green and blue baseball hats with the letter "M" on them, and little green eyeball stick figures with legs who is Mike. If you look at their second picture above in the bottom left corner, you can see the pattern right there. I've lived in this neighborhood for 36 years and certainly know where I purchased these masks. When I made my Yelp comment, I realized that my neighbor had made a "one star" review as well as to the demeanor of the older woman in this shop. There is a pattern of unacceptable behavior. I just posted this comment yesterday and already have a response this morning from the owner. That speaks for itself. Also, the day I bought these masks there were bags and bags of them in the store. No one ever offered me, well over 65+, a "free" mask. There are still bags and bags of them in the store and advertisement on Nextdoor web platform. They now have a piece of plexi glass up and have mask examples hanging from it. read more
