I first tried a "Not So Hot Chocolate" pop at an event years ago and went to find the store the very next day. I was hooked! I also love their fruit flavored pops - blackberry lemonade, key lime, and mango ginger. I love that they have vegan options for those that are dairy free or vegan. One thing to note- the shop is a grab and go, walk up counter style where it's best suited to get a treat for a walk on the monon or sit on one of the benches outside. My go to in the banana cream, s'mores, or watermelon in the summer! They have disposable chocolate, and plenty of toppings to make it your own!! I've tried the key lime and the strawberries and cream popsicles from Nicey Treat. They were so good! Very simple, yet refreshing and cooling on a hot day. It's a simple concept - popsicles, but with traditional flavors and newer flavors. Located in Broad Ripple they have other locations throughout Indianapolis. One location that some might not know is that they sell them inside the White River State Park Visitors Center located close to the new TCU Amphitheater. We love Nicey. I haven't had a bad popsicle from there. It's easy to order from, you can buy in bulk and the staff is always nice-y. Our household favorite is Watermelon. Taste like real watermelon, not the candy flavor like most water melon treats taste like. If you love Hawaii like my husband. You need to get the POG. It was my first time checking out this popsicle place in Broad Ripple and a warm sunny evening. I really enjoyed all the creative flavors they had. There were 2 main categories, vegan and creamy. Each was appropriately labeled on the board inside. The person working there said that they sourced the ingredients locally when ever possible. We picked up the cajeta flavor and the passion fruit flavor. It was recommended to dip the cajeta in some chocolate to add to the creaminess from the goat cheese. It was an excellent combo! I've heard SO much about Nicey Treat since returning to Indiana. As a disclaimer, I'm really not an ice cream/popsicle fanatic. I grew up indulging in Fla-Vor-Ice during the summers so, evidently, I've never really had a housemade popsicle, and the only gourmet version that I've indulged in would be kulfi (stick ice cream) in India. Participating largely in social media has many perks, of course, one of which is winning some Nicey Treat popsicles at the Farmers Market, which I was lucky enough to do! I sidled up to the stall and took the opportunity to grab a few pops: strawberry-mint, blackberry lemonade, and peach! Each one was a winner with one notable aspect: the flavor that's told to you is EXACTLY what the pop exudes. The strawberry-mint was a tad too mint-forward for me (personal preference) but I found the blackberry-lemonade to be exactly the refreshment I needed for a sunny Saturday morning. Most recently, I was biking from downtown to 86th Street via Monon. I stopped by to check in and see if Nicey was open during the coronavirus, and they were taking orders/paying outside on the sidewalk. One of the best things about this place: the range of flavors. Forget your normal grape, strawberry, lime flavors filled with artificial flavors and colors. This places takes flavor combinations to the next level. Goat cheese and caramel. Herbs + fruits. Vegan options. I was craving something with herbs (what's new) so I went with the pineapple basil. It was a delicious treat on the 80-degree, sunny day. It wasn't overly sweet and it wasn't full of pineapple pulp that usually leaves sores in my mouth from the overly acidic textures. Love love these popsicles! I found out about them at a food truck fest from their truck and I got hooked! They also have 2 locations one in fountain square and the other in broadripple. The broadripple store is located right in-between the coffee shop and a salon, and they have such a cute store interior! It's clean with fun pictures, and the menu is on a chalkboard with all the different flavors. The flavors always seem to keep rotating which is great so you can always have something fresh! I recommend the lemon buttercream. Avocado, and lemon basil, they are all amazing. Nested in the heart of Broad Ripple, you will find "Nicey Treat." It is just that - it is nice - Real Nice! And, it is a treat! I had the Key Lime Pie, my kids each had the "No So Hot Chocolate" and my wife had the Strawberry Cream. They were all very delicious. Personally, I liked my Key Lime Pie the best! (I chose wisely!). There are so many flavors - I will be trying more this summer. (I had another flavor once at the Broad Ripple farmer's. I don't remember the flavor, but I do remember it being very good.) At the store, there is car parking in the back - I imagine it fills quickly. Still, it is close enough to the action, that it is not a bad walk from other parking spots. There is also a bike rack in the front and it is just a few paces west of the monon trail. For the treat, I have heard the opinion that it is a little pricey. But, I keep in mind it is a treat, the ingredients in these are very good - not full of junk or chemicals. And, on a hot summer night, when the beach is burning, and the fog is crawling over the sand, I like to cool down with a Nicey Treat! Can I give Nicey Treat six stars?? Please!! I had a great first experience with Nicey and today I got a peanut butter pop per the recommendation of fellow Yelpers and it was the best decision ever. SO creamy and delicious. More like the consistency of ice cream, than a popsicle though. But still. SO GOOD. The worst part was when I finished eating it and it was all gone :/ I got it from the truck and they didn't have a chocolate dipping option but I can only image how delicious the peanut butter pop is w/ chocolate! Disclaimer - popsicles are my weakness in life. I'd give this place 5 stars even if they sold grocery store popsicles. That said... So friggin good! All the flavors are refreshing and novel. I downed the Jamaica (hibiscus), pineapple basil, and chocolate-dipped Thai coffee on my first visit. As someone who can't resist having more than one popsicle at a time, I really wish they didn't cost $3 a pop, but I still gladly pay the price for a few minutes of bliss. I LOVE this place! I came across this place about a year ago after a doctor's appointment in the area. I'd always thought cool popsicle places were only found in bigger cities, but man I was wrong. Honestly, the flavor wall is daunting. They all sounds so good and at this point I've tried most of their flavors and can confirm they are great. My go to is Cookie Butter dipped in dark chocolate, but the POG, Pineapple Basil and Not So Hot Chocolate are very good. I also appreciate that no matter how busy their Broad Ripple location gets, the employees never freak out or rush you to make a decision. It's much appreciated. My only complaint is that I wish they had some type of small cardboard catch-all for melting popsicles.
