This is how our garden was left, after he took our $600+ deposit and never came back to finish the job. (He put the caution tape up.)

Very disheartened to have to write this review, but I feel compelled after the complete nonsense Nick has pulled. I work for a business (I won't name for their privacy) who paid Nick over $600 in a deposit for supplies to revamp their landscape/butterfly garden. After months of having to constantly check in due to lack of communication on his part, he told me he didn't appreciate me "riding his ass" and to "back off". What I don't appreciate is taking over $600 for a job, and then never following through, which is what has come to pass. We contacted Nick several times over the last month to finalize when he would finish the project, and then to request our deposit back when it became clear the work would not be finished, and we have received no communication whatsoever. I'm very disappointed, as Nick was very knowledgeable about our plant life, but clearly his business skills leave something to be desired. Nick, if you read this, please send us back the deposit, as it is theft to take someone's money and not finish the job.

    Beetroots 5" & 4" in diameter!

Nick is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and grows the most amazing humongous organic beetroots I've ever seen. Absolutely delicious. All the advice he's provided has been completely spot on.

Me power washing for the first time - I never knew how satisfying it is to blast the grime away - while having a blast!

Love, love, love Frog Creek Farm. Can't believe that they have been in business for over a decade…read moreand I just heard about them recently. We had been to another lavender farm in the upper Ojai Valley some years ago and I was looking for that info to return. That one has closed, but thankfully, Frog Creek Farm is a wonderful "find" for us. The lavender full blossom season is short, so you need to check on them via social media to find out when they are open. Instagram has current info. It's a delight to pull off the Ojai/Santa Paula Road and mosey on to their property. They have so much to see, including their cutting garden of seasonal flowers, some places to sit at picnic tables in the shade and even swing (i.e., hammock), the gift shop, and the lavender rows - the main event. Larry provides a great introduction at the small stand adjacent to the flowering beds. He describes the location and how to identify the five kinds of lavender they offer for cutting. For 2025 pricing - $16 earns you a generous bunch of fragrant blooms. After orientation, you are off with a basket to collect the stems, and scissors to do your own cutting / harvesting. As promised, the plentiful bees scattered away as we leaned in to cut the stems close to the main host bushes. We wandered among the rows and filled up our gathering basket. Back at the stand, Larry tied our haul into a beautiful bunch. We proceeded to the gift shop to pay for our pickings, and I also found a few other items to purchase, including lavender-infused spray which has many purposes. Christel greeted us as we were wrapping up our visit. She filled us in as we asked questions about how long they'd been there, as well as about some of their products. She's as sweet and charming as the farm is. What a lovely place to visit. We'll be putting it on the to-do list next summer, for sure!

From the personal lavender lesson, to the hands on cutting, shopping the lavender shed to sipping amazing lavender lemonade under the trees, it's such a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. The staff was welcoming and friendly, making the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. Highly recommend for families and anyone who loves fresh cherries!

The next following years were hard due to the frost, she said they lost about 90% of their crops, but this year has been better due to a some new techniques. This place rocks compared to another cherry farm we visited before, the prices are cheaper, they round down to the nearest quarter and the cherries are better quality. At was at this farm that we got the bulk of our cherry harvest! Most of the trees are sweet, I know because I sampled so many of them XD! Haha I forget that you aren't supposed to eat the cherries like a cherry buffet, but pick them to put in your bucket to take home. This is hard to do when you are surrounded by glowing, red gems of deliciousness just shouting EAT ME!!! Ahhhhh okie dokies NOM NOM NOM NOM. =D I like the Utah Giants the best, they had good texture and were the perfect ripeness. The Tietons were extremely large in size but the texture was more like a plum, not as dense in the flesh. I was sad that the Ranier's weren't to perfect ripeness, but the few I sampled were already sweet enough. If anyone's going this weekend or the next you are in for a treat! I was partial to Ranier's but now coming to an awesome cherry ranch, I determined that I am a opportunistic cherry picker and will go for any type as long as it's yum. I bought a jar of their very own wildflower honey for $8, it's really fresh and has a nice aftertaste. Do take a sample if you are here, they can't call it organic since the bees fly around in a 2 mile radius and most other farms aren't organic. Very friendly environment, the owner and family are willing to show you were the best cherries are and explain how to tell the difference between all the varieties! Bring a hat because it gets hot. I also brought some water and a paper towel to wipe of the cherries, (i'm not bohemian enough to just eat them) they are covered in a thin layer of dust and maybe bird poop. =p

We decided to clean up the area so we could host an important family event, and our search led to Gio and his team. He responded quickly, and we discussed what we were looking for in re-purposing the rear 1/3 of our property. He described his vision and methods, and provided a very reasonable quote. We decided to move forward, and we left it up to him to provide and plant what was needed to create a perfect space that was both functional for entertainment and really pleasant to just relax and enjoy. Gio and his team did not disappoint. He met (and exceeded) our expectations, and stuck to the schedule and budget. And he didn't just create planter areas and new lawn, he also installed a paver walkway to match our existing patio stones. When he was finished with the original scope, he offered to maintain the rear yard to make sure our investment (and his hard work) would continue to look as good as the day he finished. He is not a typical "mow-blow-& go" gardening service. When he and his team arrive, they look around, see whatever needs care and attention, make everything right, and leave every inch of the yard neatly trimmed and clean. We are looking forward to asking Gio and his team to re-imagine and transform the side and front landscaped areas of our home. We can't recommend him enough.

Fortunately, Gio responded promptly to our initial call and provided a thorough assessment based on our home's needs and goals. Our beloved plants have been thriving under Gio & Co.'s care, so we wanted to share our feedback in case there were others like us seeking someone knowledgeable and trustworthy to provide regular TLC to their plants. It is obvious he and his team take great care and personal pride in what they do; as a result we have received numerous compliments - including from the landscaper who installed the garden! The hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies that frequent our well-tended flowers seem to give Gio's Gardening Company a 10/10 as well. Lastly, I want to note how grateful I am that he and his team took special care to help our bougainvilleas and orange tree flourish. Gio had a great idea to "train" the bougainvilleas along our rear wall and now they're like artwork by our pergola. True, they're not that rare in LA, but they were planted by my parents and hold much sentimental value. Being able to see them grow and do well has me count his services as a solid ROI alone. Gardening is an art and a science. We're so grateful to have found a dedicated pro who has been able to provide us solutions for all things plant-related here in LA!
