The food is awesome! Make reservations. We sat at the bar and the bartender was great. He gave really good recommendations and we loved every thing he recommended. First start off with the Hefe-Weizen beer. They serve it in a nice chilled glass and a great way to start the next enjoyable 1+ hours of tastebuds delight! The pretzel is a must! It's served warm and was so so so soft. It will make you regret you ever ate one at the mall or carnival. We had the jagerschnitzel and the breading was perfect. I think any of the schnitzels would be great. The bartender told us about a special off-menu item that included 3 types of bratwurst. Each one had a unique flavor for the others. My favorite was the peppercorn one. It was one of the best dishes we ever had. This is an absolutely must get dish! For dessert, the apple strudel is the way to go. It's one of the freshest desserts you'll ever have.

    Apple Strudel was excellent!!!

Service at Nick's is wonderful! The desserts are very good!! My veal was flavorless unfortunately. I regretted not going with their pork.

I had a FABULOUS experience at Nick's German Kitchen. The lumberjack schnitzel was ausgezeichnet and the bretzel was delectable. The restaurant was so cottage core. Love!!!!

We love Nick's, and have enjoyed dining here for multiple years now. If you're looking for authentic, delicious German food then you need to make a visit. The interior has a bar for dining, and tables to accommodate 2 or more. Plus there are outdoor dining tables when the weather is nice. Inside it can get a little noisy when full, so be prepared. But the enthusiasm of dining here makes it fun. I always enjoy a good German beer to start, especially a Dunkel beer. Favorite apps include the warm pretzel with hot German mustard, and my favorite is the bratwurst. The modern German fare offers 6 different schnitzels, pork medallions, a chicken or veggie spaetzle. My favorite schnitzel is the Jager schnitzel with it's crispy pork cutlet, spaetzle and creamy mushroom gravy. My husband recently ordered the veggie spaetzle and it was equally delicious. Occasionally they have a different special on the weekends, and my favorite is the rouladen. You can't find this delicious Germen specialty in Charleston, so I always order this when available. Our service has always been friendly and engaging when we dine at Nick's. The added table visits by Nick is always appreciated too.

This waz just an amazing experience! We were seated outside with cozy blankets and heaters. The food was amazing. The flavors exploded in my mouth and each bite was joyous. Our waitress was amazing. She was sweet, prompt, and friendly. Just a great experience!

We went there for dinner last night, Saturday. I made 645 reservations, which said patio when we got there it was so hot we end sitting at the bar. It was a little bit warm. Nice atmosphere service was very good. Everyone was friendly. Especially enjoyed the German beer. We got the bread dumpling as an appetizer. If you're a fan of Campbell's cream of mushroom soup, as I am, the sauce was an upgrade of that flavor. My wife got the chicken paprikash. I got the Yeager schnitzel. Both were excellent, especially their fresh spatzel.

Since the island doesn't have many upscale dining options, I truly appreciate Vinea stepping up to offer an elevated experience . The interior remains unchanged from the Sermet's days , same bar layout, same table setup , which brings a sense of nostalgia. Many of the same servers and bartenders have also stayed on, and they continue to deliver excellent service with warmth and professionalism. The menu has a distinctly European influence, and while everything sounded appealing, nothing quite wowed us in execution. We ordered the mozzarella tomato tower, the shrimp appetizer special, the pork tenderloin stroganoff, and the tenderloin medallions entree special . Unfortunately, the dishes lacked depth and flavor. The shrimp appetizer was bland, more reminiscent of boiled shrimp in a light broth than a thoughtfully composed starter. Both pork tenderloin entrées also fell flat and could have benefited from more seasoning or creative touches. Adding a splash of balsamic vinegar helped a bit, but overall, my stroganoff dish was underwhelming , I even left more than half behind. On a sweeter note, the Nutella creme brulee was excellent and easily the highlight of the meal : rich, creamy, and perfectly executed. I recognize that Vinea is fairly new, and I'll absolutely give them another try in the future. The service and atmosphere are great foundations; I just hope the kitchen finds its rhythm and elevates the menu to match the vision of upscale dining on the island.

I was honestly very surprised by how much I enjoyed everything. The inside of this quaint little restaurant has a strong German feel. The staff are dressed traditionally, which makes the whole place feel charming and authentic. It is honestly adorable. I would love to return when they have live music to enjoy the full experience. We started with the potato pancakes and the sausage platter, and both were excellent. Every sausage on the platter was seasoned so well that I did not even need mustard. I ate each one exactly as it was served, and the flavor was fantastic. The pretzels that came with the platter were also very good. The potato pancakes were phenomenal. I easily could have eaten more, but I wanted to save room for my entrée. For my meal, I ordered the veal schnitzel with spaetzle and potato salad, along with mushroom gravy. The veal was incredibly tender and absolutely delicious. I loved it so much that I want to try making it at home. The spaetzle was fantastic and something completely new for me. The mushroom gravy really brought everything together and made the dish feel complete. The potato salad was just average, but everything else was outstanding. My boyfriend ordered the pork schnitzel with spaetzle and really enjoyed his meal as well. Between the music, the cozy atmosphere, and the wonderful food, the entire experience was warm and memorable. This was such a great introduction to German cuisine, and I would definitely return.

We ordered a couple of the Chicken Schnitzel Sandwiches and some fries, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the best schnitzel I've ever had. The sandwich was huge--definitely didn't skimp on the portions--and the breading was perfectly crispy and flavorful. Also, a huge shoutout for the small details: the bottled Diet Cokes were ice cold. Most of the time at these outdoor festivals, you're lucky to get a 'cool' drink, but these were refreshing and perfect for a day out in the sun.
