That's the case for all hot sandwiches and garlic breads. I recently ordered the chicken parm, and the chicken was cut into small pieces and was burnt. I like my meat cut up in rice dishes such as paella and jambalaya, but cut up chicken parm seems low class and it wasn't great. I also recently ordered the Italian sub. It's a shame you have to pay extra for cheese. IMO, an Italian sub should have both Provolone and Mozzarella cheese. Their sandwich comes with no cheese and is an extra charge. Bummer. Also, they have a variety of Italian-style sandwiches, but none of them have the classic salami, mortadella, and capicola combination which is the authentic combination from my experience. To top it off, the Italian Sub doesn't have red onion or black olives. Meh. There are more menu issues. In the end, there's nothing I find above average. I don't discourage you from going if you're in the mood for a nice Italian meal on the sidewalk outside in nice weather, but there is literally nothing I've found on their large menu that is above average. The online menu doesn't have these pastas listed in the "Dinner" section, but the in-store menu did. The only thing that was kind of a bummer was that they were out of things like meatballs, olives, and a couple other items, but we were still able to choose dishes that were delicious. The restaurant's vibe is very laidback and like, elevated casual, if that makes sense. They have great little water glasses and everything has a modern feel, from the green decor accents to the fancy pasta forks, which are the first of their kind I've ever seen. The bathroom had a bidet, which was my first experience with the same, and it was cool and fun. Thorough! I laughed at the sticker on the bidet saying it WILL spray you in the face. Our drinks arrived about 10 to 15 mins later and Tacos arrived 10 minutes after that. The Carne Asada was just ok. It was rather over cooked. The al pastor was better then the Carne asada. Potato tacos could of used some more flavor. So it was a hit and miss on the taste of the tacos being served. The salsa was tasty along with the chips that tasted fresh. The service was very slow. I am not knocking on our waitress. She was trying as the place started to fill up. She stayed calm as more customers started to come in. By the time we were done eating, about an hour or so later.. she finally received some help. I was relieved for her. Overall, this is a mom and pops restaurant. A family affair with their own children working in this restaurant. I wasn't to harsh on the service because I understood the pressure she was going through. Netti who was our server, waitress and host did her best to accommodate us. I really recommend staff management to support Taco Tuesdays accordingly.
