We stopped by this place while on a road trip. Being a fan of New York style pizza, and on our way back from New York City, we wanted to grab another bite off New York City style pizza as pizza tends to get thicker as you get from New York City to Chicago. While we decided to stop in the Binghamton area, we looked at various pizzas online and found this restaurant whose Pizza appeared to be the closest to the New York City style. We ordered a medium pepperoni, the guy working in the counter seemed friendly and made us a fresh one while we sat and watched. When the pizza was done, he showed us what it looked like and whether we wanted it cooked more. He did warn us that he can always cook it more, but he can't uncook it. We asked him to cook it more, and he did a good job. We then sat in the car and ate this delicious pizza. I definitely ate way more than I was planning to, because it was just that good. In hindsight, I wish we ordered a large. The medium pepperoni pizza was roughly $20. They also have and all you can eat buffet, though neither of us can eat more than two slices of pizza to make it worth it. But if this is your thing, that would be another reason to visit here. read more

Grande has been a favorite since I was a kid. The decor has changed from the hanging wine bottles but the food is still some of the best pizza in the southern Tier. I went with my parents and we had the two slice plus salad bar lunch special. I had the pepperoni slices and a bunch of salad. Salad was fresh, coleslaw was very good and toppings/dressings were very good. I live in Virginia and simply can't get this quality of pizza where I live. I've been here occasionally and it was unremarkable. However, the owner (Vincent) also owns a property which houses Hacienda Mexican which is the best Mexican restaurant in the area and is consistently packed every evening of the week. Hacienda just in the last month or two made a big investment in their restaurant and re-painted the building and did some upgrades to the kitchen and dining area. Vincent didn't let them know that he was working on an agreement to rent the property to a dispensary and was going to kick them out. Hacienda only found out about this when it hit the local news. I will never go to Grande again, nor will I patronize the dispensary even though it is just a half mile from my house. I'll continue to go to Just Breathe. read more

Pizza is great! Nothing else is! Ordered French onion soup. It was room temperature and tasted worse than plain label beef broth. Then they put a slice of white bread and American cheese on top. Disgusting to say the least. 2nd time I have been there and tried to order Stromboli. Never is available. Chose a meatball sub instead. Was also only room temperature and tasted terrible. Went to the ladies room, no toilet paper and the toilet is not attached to the floor and tips sideways. I will NEVER go there again! No wonder the place is never busy. read more

After long day at work and driving from NYC to Syracuse i decided to stop and have there lunch special Is $11.99 for two slices and a salad!!! I've always liked the food here but today I stopped for one slice and a container of garlic knots. After warming up the knots and biting into them we found them completely raw inside! I called and spoke to a man who told me that that's the way it is. They cook on the outside and not the inside. Such bs. He was rude and said if he gave me more they would be the same. Dishonest pricing. Garlic knots listed online as $5.50/dz, but they charge $6. Marinara is also a separate charge, but not advertised as a separate charge, so add another $1 per marinara (in this case they charged me for 2 even though I didn't ask for them.) Consistency seems to be an issue here. I can easily drop 2 stars from my previous visit. Red sauce tasted different (not drastically worse but enough to make it just ordinary like everyone else) and dough (while tasty) was unevenly heated (it was only crispy at one end on the outside leaving the rest of the pie saggy). I have been to Grandes a few times with my boyfriend and his family. It is one of their go-to restaurants in Binghamton. The restaurant is family-owned and you really get that family feeling when you go there. Most recently, I ordered the Chicken Oscar with Linguine. It is a creamy pesto sauce which is delicious. It is creamy but not too heavy and goes perfectly with the chicken. The portions are large which is great for lunch leftovers the next day. I feel that the prices are very reasonable and the menu is extensive! I highly recommend the red sauce as well, it is delicious. read more

I have to say, once, I liked Grande's Pizza. It was once a good place to go, until yesterday I was sent home with the most disgusting pizza I ever ate. I know, as of late, Grande's has really gone downhill. The service has been pretty bad since Covid, and I really was not impressed that they added a 3 percent charge to every bill to cover their expenses for credit card processing. Then the quality of food went down. The owner apparently has decided to put all the work on one overworked waitress and a guy at the counter who takes orders, takes money, makes pizza, takes phone calls, and gets all of the other food ready (all without washing his hands). Seriously, these people are overworked. The owner should be ashamed, after all, I am sure he is not paying them for doing several people's jobs. The bad management is probably why the in-house guests are eating on paper plates since the owner will not pay a dishwasher. And bad management is probably why my pizza yesterday was so bad. As I waited, I saw the guy pull out a nice-looking pizza that looked like my order, but he put the nice one in the display case. The he pulled out this piece of under cooked slop and quickly put it in the box while trying to make small talk, so I would not notice. They used to show you the pizza before you left with it. So, I paid and got home to find a soupy mess where all the pepperoni slid to one side and the cheese was slimy. I figured there was nothing I could do about it, so I tried to get my family to eat it. I ate two pieces and paid all night long for it. Five antacids couldn't take down this disgustingness. I figure if the right number of employees were working, my pizza might have been at least cooked. So, I paid over $18 for a sloppy mess that made my family sick. For any of you reading, save your money and find a better pizza place. This one is definitely not worth it. read more

Came here with a friend for dinner- we came in and sat right down -zero wait. We opted for the salad and pizza bar and ordered our drinks. Service was quick but not particularly friendly. Our waitress seemed to want to move people in and out as fast as she could. The pizza was great and they were good about bringing out fresh pizzas. The salad bar was fresh and had great choices. DON'T EAT HERE!!!!! THEY DROP FOOD ON THE FLOOR AND STILL EXPECT YOU TO EAT/ PAY FOR IT!! My story : I went in for 3 white slices to go. As I walked in @ 7:45 on a Friday night, it was busy. I noticed the last 3 slices of white pizza in the front display case..PERFECT! I advised the older woman behind the counter that I'd take those last 3. She then proceeded to pick up the slices..without any gloves on her hands, and then she dropped a slice on the floor. So, she put the remaining 2 in the oven, leaned over and apparently told the older man behind the counter with her that she dropped it/ what should she do? He then proceeded ( he THOUGHT) non- shalantly to pick up the slice off the floor and put it on the pan BACK in the display window! She then picked it up off the pan and put it in the oven next to the other 2 slices I had ordered! WHAAAATT THE FUKKKK!!!???? Are YOU KIDDING ME!!??? How absolutely gross AND ridiculous! No way was I going to let this slide uh- uhh! So I went up to the counter and said " you know..I saw what you did". "Whaaat??" she said with guilt..KNOWING she got caught.. " I saw the whole thing! You dropped one of the slices, he picked it up, threw it on the pan in the display, then you JUST picked it up off the pan and put it in the oven! And I saw the ENTIRE THING! She was sooo surprised I caught both of them lying that she immediately started denying it..then she started shushing me ( haha..wrong thing to do at THIS point!) She THEN , knowing she was caught, and people were starting to hear me, offered to make a fresh pie. I said no..don't bother. What I WANT is to know WHY you think it's acceptable to drop food on your floor, and CONTINUE TO SERVE IT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS...AND HAVE THEM PAY FOR IT!!! I was irate! She was so flustered she didn't know how to get out of it. I went on to ask her if SHE AND HE ate food off the floor and paid for it. By this time clearly many customers in the dining room could hear the issue/ commotion. I then asked aloud if anyone in the dining room was aware that these people thought it was acceptable to serve food that had fallen on the floor. And with that I was SOOOO ANGRY & DISGUSTED I just left yelling behind me that I was reporting them to the health bureau.. Again..don't eat here unless you want to get sick or eat shit from the dirty floor..where EVERYONE walks..with piss & shit on the bottom of their shoes. UN-FUKIN-BELIEVABLE!! read more

Only leaving one star since you have to leave a star to write a review and frankly, if I could take back the three stars I left a few years ago, I would. Very, very disappointed with this last experience. Absolutely did not feel like I got my money's worth... $60 with tip. Salad was half a head of lettuce, a few slices of cucumber, a piece or two of red onion and two, only two grape tomatoes, with a small handful of croutons. Garlic knots were... bland. Had to jazz them up with garlic salt out of the shaker at home. Also ordered two medium pizzas, one cheese with extra cheese which was OK, but the second was disgraceful. It was supposed to be ham and pineapple (yes, I'm one of those) but for being pricy "premium" toppings (literally an additional $8.50 according to the menu), I felt like I could have picked up some lunch meat at Weis, spent the same amount and topped three or four pizzas. The ham was maybe two slices of the cheap "cooked ham" torn and tossed haphazardly on the pie. Not enough to even taste or to begin being evenly distributed. And your typical canned pineapple pieces. $8.50 for what? Just not worth it. I'm happy to drive the extra 10 minutes past Grandes to go to Rossi's on Harry L. I know I'll get a fantastic salad, bomb garlic knots and dang it, if I order a ham and pineapple pizza, I'll get a ham and pineapple pizza and WONT be charged [cough] "premium" prices for nearly nothing. The homemade ranch is the best thing they have going but the last two time I ordered it they pulled it from the refrigerator behind the register and not from the fresh salad bar. Both times it was bubbly and sour. They do have a decent salad bar and I think they have a pizza and salad bar lunch special that pretty cheap. This place could not be better. I got the rigatoni alla vodka, and it was the best I have ever had. Perfect texture, perfect taste, perfect everything. I cannot forget to mention the bread. They gave a HUGE piece of bread for 2 pasta dishes. The bread was almost as amazing as the rigatoni alla vodka. My dad got a gluten-free Hawaiian pizza, which he said is good and my picky-eater younger sister got plain pasta with butter which she said was also amazing. The place is run by Italian grandparents (who are very nice), which gives it a very family run authentic vibe. The food took a little longer then what was estimated on the phone, but that was expected as it was dinner rush hour and it was busy. They take apple pay which is good, as I use it often. We roll up in a shiny silver car, newly waxed, not ours. I was wearing a silky number, ready for a night with friends and evening of Binghamtonics acoustics. It was my senior year. The three boys arrived in khakis and ties, grumbling about the prices at Grande's. Unaware they were going to embark unto a lucrative career of medicine. (*wink). They felt poor. They shared a greasy plain cheese pizza. We felt gratitude towards our friends and the school that brought us together. We felt like kings. My man ordered filet mignon, I had spaghetti and meatballs. It was his first time and it was the best meat that touched our lips. I could not tell if the food was as delicious as I remembered or the memory is sprinkled with the joy of our youth. For my grandmas 40th anniversary, she took her children and grandchildren to Grande's. Upon arriving, the scenery was beautiful and looked very welcoming. However, the environment was probably the only good thing about this Italian restaurant. The costumer service was very subpar as we were waiting to be served for 45 minutes, and then waiting another hour to actually get our food. They also forgot a side of fries which wasn't a big deal however should be worth noting. The food seemed slightly on the expensive side and didn't live up to the price. The pizza is what they are known for, yet was very undercooked and not even hot upon getting my slices. The pasta with vodka sauce was also pretty poor. The let down if the night however, was the chicken Alfredo listed at 21$. I could have made a better Alfredo sauce in my home! The waitress was nice but overall the experience was one where I would definitely not go back with all the other options in the Binghamton area. The environment and the salad bar are the only two positives that I've taken away from this place, which will give Grande's a rating if 2/5. read more

Grandes opened back when my dad was in high school, and he loved it so he always brought home their pizza when I was growing up, and it's definitely great pizza, one of my favorites in the area actually. It's NY style thin crust, but it's a little thicker than other places. I love their sauce, it's sweet but not too sweet and not heavily seasoned, I'm not a fan of super savory pizza. Unfortunately, a few of their other menu items can be hit or miss. I thought their chicken parm was adequate. I like the sauce but the texture was average, kinda sloppy, but the portion was good. Like another reviewer said though, no salads with takeout, kind of a bummer. I had gnocci alfredo before and it had the opposite problem, the flavor was pretty bland but the texture was great. The chicken wings I had here were pretty bad, the sauce had no flavor and they weren't crisp at all, and it tasted like the fryer oil needed to be changed. I haven't tried the stromboli or calzones because they're not made fresh when you order them, they pre-make them with certain fillings and if you don't want those fillings then I guess you're out of luck. Everyone else makes theirs fresh, why not grandes? The place looks clean and the staff has been friendly, but they did mess up an order I placed. I wanted extra sauce on a pizza and they gave me extra cheese and they put a disgusting amount on, I ended up throwing half the pizza away. Came here with family. The pizza was great. We came in and got our order taken right away with 2 large pizza. The food came out in about 20 mins. The bad part I noticed is that the pizza buffet was there and it looked like it been out and sitting there for awhile. We ate and finished an hour after we came in.
