I have eaten at the restaurant several times over the past couple of years. First I would like to say the service is fabulous - I could not ask for better. Regarding the food, I would venture to say you would be hard pressed to find better food in the Rowlett area and many reviews I have read state that Nick's is "Bar Food", I would rate it much higher than just bar food !!! As far as the atmosphere, you could not get a better Sports Bar in DFW than this one in Nick's - you can not turn your head without finding a TV in your view and every one on a different sport. Way better food than expected at a sports bar! When the local sports bar failed to deliver the Mayweather fight, I turned to Nick's. For only $20 cover; they had the fight, fantastic food, abd tons of pretty waittresses. Not that I noticed the pretty girls (IJS). The food here is 100% better than found in most sports bars; ranging from loaded fries and wings, to legit steaks, and a burger with fried egg that rivalled any restaurant - anywhere! Quality food in every sense of the words. Good drink specials varied nightly, but the $4 premium shots were a staple. My double vodka Red Bulls were large, strong, and frequent. Friendly bartenders did not push, but served every request quickly. Clean restrooms, plenty of parking, booths and tables - plus ample TV screens. The staff is very friendly. Never forgot about us and accommodated any request to change the TV. However the food was questionable. I just ordered tendies to be safe and they were floppy as hell. I have so many memories in this place. Loves lost, glances stolen, long nights of drunken conversations after working an awful shift at the Applebee's just down the street while I was in community college. There is no place like Nick's. It isn't amazingly easy on the eyes. It's a big place, a bit aged. Usually, they have 3 servers covering the whole place, and a bartender. The bartop itself is pretty small. The main area though, is massive. Booths, high tops, and small tables. They show just about any sporting event, including UFC (this can be tough to catch in that area). If it is a Pay Per View Event they will likely charge a cover, but rarely over $10. If you are a regular they sometimes allow you in without paying. The menu is a true mix of bar food. When I lived over there, and was going about 3x weekly, they did a menu change and got rid of the Capn Crunch Tenders. I had never had these, but it became true anarchy among customers. I heard more than 1 waitress get cussed out over that. When I returned for the first time in years for that Dallas Playoff game in 2019, seemingly they were back on the menu. The boneless wings are really tenders, and I recall them being delicious back in my meat eating days. The fried pickles were always good, but the mozz sticks always stole the show for me. They fairly recently added a pool hall area with more booths and TVs. If you sit back here just bear in mind that your server likely has to sprint to get to you because she bas tables everywhere. However, the waitress that most recently took care of me was amazing with this. Certainly worth checking out this Rowlett institution! read more

The service was lost in space and the beer on tap is totally watered down and they know it. The drinks are also made with extra ice and water. The manager is worthless on knowing how things work there and the bartender is nice but lies for the manager. Nicks used to be a great place to go in the neighborhood but we stopped going way back due to service, management and quality and decided to meet friends there tonight and it was worse than before so good luck should you decide to go but we will not be back. Today ends my devotion to nothing more than a local bar with terrible service. The staff is child in age or behavior, the service is at best average if considered a regular, which by the way I was...cold beer glasses-on a good day-I scoff at that...after 5 years we are breaking up; I no longer feel the need to be loyal, this local will find a place where service is dependable. The service here is horrendous! We walked in on Christmas Day with literally only 2 other tables occupied and a couple people at the bar... we're there for 3 HOURS!! Absolute worst experience. If you are going to be open Christmas Day then please have the help for the kitchen/servers. read more

One star is being generous.. a group of our friends (6 people) came here around 2pm on a Sunday, ready to have some fun, eat and drink. We were immediately disappointed when it took about 10 minutes for our server to come over and hake our drink order. She failed to mention any of the drink specials and often forgot our drink orders and did not come back to check on us for long periods of time. There were two servers and one bartender and there were only three tables of two or three, besides our group, in the entire restaurant. We say through our meal with dirty, used plates and cups, never being removed. The chips tasted like they were cooked in old grease, burgers tasted freezer-burned & the catfish was abysmal. At one point, we had to flag down the bartender just so we could have some kind of service. I would not recommend this bar to anyone. Wow read a few of the reviews and eekkk. Ok this is a sports bar and the food is sports bary food. LOL I have eaten here many times and enjoyed a few drinks even ordered out a salad which I do feel is way over priced. The waitresses are not top notch but at least they do just as good as a Hooters waitress. No offence but its true but again its a sports bar. Would like to see some male waiters as its not a Hooters LOL I did like it when Nicks had half priced burgers and other regular specials that brought in the peeps. I think I'm gonna like this place... On a lazy Sunday I was itching to try a new place to eat with a buddy. Seems that our default is Eddie's on Centerville, but we were getting a little burned out on the same ol' same ol'. So maybe it was time to try Nick's. The reviews looked decent - I automatically threw out the one trashing it got - and I was burger-hungry. In spite of its location in the most generic of white-bread-generic strip centers, they've got the sports bar atmosphere nailed. Decor is new-ish and more upscale than some generic sports bars. Lots of TVs, including little TVs at each booth. Not sure what kind of control you can have over the little screen, but maybe that question will be answered on a future visit. We grabbed a booth and Heather brought us drinks and menus. So far so good... We started with an order of boneless Buffalo wings, and they hit the spot. The sauce was tasty, a little bit sweet, and not terribly spicy. Ranch and blue cheese came on the side - and the blue cheese had big hunks of cheese swimming around within. Good stuff, and we polished it off just in time for the featured attraction. My burger was cooked exactly to order and served on a big, fluffy, toasted (sourdough?) bun. Tomatoes were really big and fresh - highly unusual. Romaine lettuce was crisp, and red onions were a nice touch. My buddy ordered a grilled chicken sandwich on a ciabatta bun. The chicken was dredged in Buffalo sauce and festooned with cheese and the usual toppings. It must've been good since he wolfed it down in short order. The fries served with both sandwiches were really good company too. Thumbs up for food! The service was laid back and friendly. We never had to flag down help, and our drinks never went empty. Perfect service for a lazy Sunday when all you want to do is stuff your face, knock back some cold liquids, and shoot the shit. If I was a cellphone I would have received more attention....the waitresses were at a back table paying plenty of attention to their phones. Almost didn't order from here because of the low ratings, but my boyfriend and I were hungry and lazy and this was the only place that would deliver wings at the time. We love wings and they are outstanding! We had lemon pepper and buffalo and it came with ranch/celery on the side. I wish they offered a higher count of wings for groups though. To add to my list of bars visited in DFW, I took a trip down SH-190 to Nick's Sports Grill in Rowlett. This was the day before thanksgiving so wasn't sure if it'd be a bunch of mad people getting in a last beer before dealing with in-laws, or just me and a bar tender. Now, it was late when I got there but you see the picture of the girls in black tops and shorts? nah, nothing like that there. Not that night anyway. I walked in and sat down at the bar, along with a few of the regulars it seems. I noticed there were only about half a dozen beers on tap so just ordered a Shiner in the bottle. It appears they stock some of the local Lakewood Brewery beers in bottles but I didn't get one. Thankfully the kitchen was still open. As you can expect, there's the regular bar/restaurant type menu. A few people gave me their suggestions and I decided to go for the linguine alfrado plus chicken for $2 more. Everything came out looking good, the pasta and a nice amount of sauce with the chicken on top and a tide of toasted bread. I did enjoy the pasta and the chicken had a nice grilled taste, although it was cooked just a tiny bit on the side of dry rather than juicy, but the taste made up for it. I certainly cleaned up the plate and didn't leave much of anything left. This is a place I would certainly go to if I was in the area, or if I was going to meet someone. I'd like to come back during a busier time to see what the crowd and service is like that. It's hard to get bad service when there's only a dozen people in the house. Overall, nice friendly atmosphere, great food, need to watch the chicken though, friendly service and regulars. This is one of those places where I would say go judge for yourself because I didn't get a bad vibe, I was just expecting a little bit more. read more

Great food, huge good looking bar, nice & friendly staff, TV Screens everywhere and at each table for a personal viewing experience. Family & kid friendly. I was visiting with my two young daughters and the Manager personally came & asked if my daughters would like to watch cartoons. We have only been here a handful of times. We did not eat anything, just sat in the bar area. When we walked in you could immediately smell the sewage issue they apparently had. Very off turning. We had a couple beers each before leaving. What at least killed the smell for a little bit was a nearby table's food order (which I admit looked really really good).
