On 6/04/25 around 5:45pm my husband and I and I entered the Nike store at the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA., intending to purchase several items, including birthday gifts for my son, whose birthday is this weekend. Upon entering, there were three employees visibly working in the store two male employees on the sales floor and one female employee behind the counter. Despite walking directly past the two male employees, neither acknowledged us, greeted us, nor asked if we needed assistance. Instead, they appeared to be engaged in a personal conversation with one another. As we continued browsing, I spent time in the women's section while my husband looked at shoes. I walked past the two male employees a few times, and on one occasion, one of them made direct eye contact with me, yet still did not offer a greeting or assistance. Shortly afterward, a female employee came from the back of the store, walked directly past me, and likewise failed to acknowledge my presence or offer assistance. At that point, I became disappointed by the complete lack of customer service. After this treatment my family and I decided to leave the store. After exiting the store, I remained outside briefly and observed one of the same male employees assisting another customer who had entered after us. Wanting to give the store another opportunity, I returned inside and continued browsing in the women's section. Even then, several minutes passed before a female employee finally asked if I needed assistance. While I understand that employees may be busy, there was no indication that these employees were occupied with customer-related responsibilities. Instead, they appeared focused on socializing while completely ignoring my family and me. As a consumer, I should not have to repeatedly walk past employees, make eye contact, and spend time browsing before receiving even a basic greeting. Every customer deserves to be acknowledged, welcomed, and treated with professionalism and respect. read more

It's hard to find customer service. The store was pretty crowded and I couldn't find an associate for different sizes. This store is fine if you already know which shoe you want and know your size. If you do not, then plan on waiting forever just to try on a shoe. Even then, the two shoes I wanted to try on, they didn't have my size. I'm a size 9 in women's and they only had up to size 7 in store. So that sucked. I did try in one of the win flo series shoes (in a size bigger than my size) and I liked that one. I decided to order a pair online since they didn't have the ones I wanted in my size to try on in store. I wanted the women's Pegasus. So I ordered it in the website. I also got some cushioned socks so I could have some extra support. read more

My wife spent 45 minutes trying to return items she had bought at the Nike store at South Coast Plaza . Even though she had the original receipt, the store's system failed to recognize it, and instead of resolving the issue professionally, both the staff and the manager questioned her honesty. They even reviewed video footage from the day of purchase to confirm that she actually bought the items. Once they realized she was telling the truth, there was no apology, no acknowledgment of their mistake--nothing. The manager and staff avoided eye contact and refused her simple request to issue a new gift card so she could pass it along as originally intended. It was a disappointing and unnecessary ordeal, made worse by rude behavior and poor customer service. This store doesn't deserve your business. read more

Went to this store inside of South Coast Plaza mall to get a price adjustment since the shoes I had purchased online a couple of weeks ago was on sale for their cyber Monday deal. I came in around 8:15pm on Friday Dec.5th and the girl that helped me wasn't very helpful at all. I didn't want a refund, I just wanted to return the shoes and purchase it again for the sale price. She said they can only do a return and can't sell the shoes back to me after I returned it and I would have to purchase it online again, absolutely made no sense to me at all. It never occurred to me how rare a Nike dedicated store is. Besides this location, the only other Nike store is located at the block & San Clemente (outlet). I actually really appreciate how this store is not jam packed with merchandise. You see... it's well curated, meaning only the best of the best products get selected for the sales floor. The minimal product also makes the shopping experience less overwhelming, which I appreciate. (I'm not one who enjoys digging through racks). I have been here multiple times, & each time has brought me joy! What sparked me to write this review was my experience at the store today (Feb 2021). I purchased a really cute oversized cropped crew sweatshirt. I was planning on wearing it to work & right away I noticed that there was a cut in the fabric right in the front. I was worried since I already had cut the tags off at this point because I knew I was going to love this piece & wasn't planning on returning it. I went into the store to exchange & the associate was SO nice! Very nice & reassuring, since the tags were cut off, they could of declined the exchange. But they exchanged it, no problems. I'll always come back to this Nike store, as there's something special about in store shopping rather than online. Why the lack of star you ask? Two stars for the layout. The shoes and clothes are nicely displayed, although it is a more limited selection than most shoe stores. Only the most popular styles are on the rack. The service was appalling, as others have described. Every single employee were standing around gossiping and throwing paper receipt basketballs around, completely ignoring the customers. Another Yelper used the phrase "kids in the high school quad" and that was dead on accurate. No eye contact with customers, completely turning their backs on you. We finally walked up and asked someone for help pulling a couple sizes and he literally sighed and grabbed the shoe and walked away. Nice Nike store focused on running located in the Annex portion of South Coast Plaza. This store is a much smaller space than your typical Nike stores but I didnt mind it. The shoes were more focused on the running and workout aspects. So were the clothing. I believe I saw a treadmill for you to try out the shoes on if you'd like. I've seen that at the other Nike Running location in Old Town Pasadena. Good selection. It's well curated. I wish there were more Nike Sportswear represented in the footwear and clothing. Dont shop here! This store has zero customer service skills! Drove all the way over to scp to do an online return. The store says they can only give me a gift card for my online return because i paid with paypal. The nike website says nothing abt that! I even asked online nike customer service and they said their policy in store is to return to original form of payment even paypal. I showed the store the online chat and they still refused to do the return to my original form of pymt. I asked for cash in that case and the store replied corporate has told them not to do that. Great place! I went in thinking I wanted to see what size I wear in a particular style. I walked out with a pair of shoes, completely different then what I came in for! Customer service was really nice and supportive- very accommodating!! I wore Nike shoes for years until I bought a pair that had a pair that lasted 6 months, a hole opened up on the side of the shoes. I was so disappointed I have not purchased a pair of Nike since. Until I came into this store. What's great is their policy is you can wear it for 30 days to make sure it's the right fit, if not you can return/exchange it. Which is a very nice policy. I want to say they have everything Nike puts out for training and hiking, but they don't. Prices for training shoes are competitive with Finish Line, but Nike usually has the latest trends and new items out first at their named stores. Staff are very friendly and helpful providing 5-Star service. Where THIS Nike Store lacks is merchandize offering/availability. I wish it was the size of the San Francisco store. Great service and COVID safe environment. They all wear masks and limit the number of people coming in at once in the store. The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed looking at the shoes they were very friendly about bringing out shoes for me to try on. They aren't just trying to make a sale, but they try to actually help the customer get what they need by asking questions about how I plan to use the shoe and my level of fitness. They are lacking a bit in inventory. I couldn't find the size I wanted for the shoe I wanted. Also, seems like Nike running shoe designs are lagging behind their shoes in other categories. Totally going back to see them again when a new lineup of running shoes come out! read more

I walked in with a pair of shoes I bought from one of the Nike Factories and they didn't quite work out, so Robert at the store was able to help guide and walk through on what would be the best use/fit for my needs. He was very knowledgeable and let me try on multiple shoes & test them on the treadmill. He went above and beyond to help with with his service and you don't find that in many places these days. Ahhh! I love coming here to see what's new. There are a few different employees that I really enjoy working with as well. I know one of 'em is Lo and I can't remember the name of the other salesperson, a gentleman who has always been so helpful when I've visited. (My hubby says the gentleman's name is MICHAEL.) I'll have to catch his name next time. Anyway, I am always looking for the next color scheme that comes out and the coordinating pieces of clothing that come out as well. I haven't had a chance to try on tights lately but I do like their full zip sweaters and sweatshirts in their not super new but still very current mauve color. Their clothing is so comfy. I can't help but live in it! Lo has been super helpful to both me and my hubby. Taking into consideration my hubby's likes and dislikes, needs and wants in a shoe, she has been able to make some great suggestions for both me and my hubby. My hubby is currently very interested in the 720's, especially after Lo told him about the design, aerodynamics and tread. All those are important to my hubby and she was just so well versed in the structure of the shoe, the mechanics of it and what would be best suited to fit the needs that my hubby mentioned. She made every effort to make sure that she help him to find a shoe he'd love and come back to buy more of each time a new color way is released. Haha. She didn't pressure either of us as far as an up-sell or anything like that. She was more than happy to help. I asked another associate for her name, thinking she was one of the managers. Oops. She was not. She definitely should be! Lo was so sweet and made sure that we were satisfied with our shopping experience. I don't think that Ive received such personalized service in a very long time. The last few visits were particularly nice. Thanks NIKE. But more than anything, thanks LO for helping me find what best suits me, my lil one and my hubby. This store is a running store. They will not be carrying the newly dropped J's, Kobe's, or other sets like the newly released Kobe x Undefeated packs. I never experienced such bad service at a Nike store before this. No member greeted us when we came into the store, but I did notice the greeters quickly look away and start gossiping Amon themselves. When I went to look over shoe section, I was never questioned if I needed assistance with getting a size even when I tried calling out to each of the employees stationed in that area. The employees were busy talking to each other rather than assisting customers who came in and as someone who worked in retail before, the bare minimum is at least saying hello/welcome in. You are better off just ordering online and not having to deal with unhelpful employees. Just make sure you have your size and avoid even bothering with this store. read more
