Christmas Eve...visiting family, just finished Christmas Eve Services..we are hungry. Matter of fact, an entire house was hungry. We started looking for places that are open, but found no Fried Chicken.....we knew if we were having pizza, it was not going to be fast food pizza. Finally, we came up on Niki's in our search around RR. We called and they WERE open. I told the gentleman on the phone I would like to place an order and he asked if I would like to hear the Specials, which I did. We ordered and picked up about 15 minutes later. The pizza was delicious too. Two XL Pizzas served those who were hungry, but I think we could have ordered 1 additional smaller sized to have just enough. We know next time and we will order again. The place is pretty big inside, good for groups, children, teens and counter staff was very helpful to us. When we got back to my daughter's house, they told us they loved the pizza from Niki's, my Son in Law said he used to eat there every day for lunch (I believe that). Overrated Bad customer service. The guy taking orders seems to have a "napoleon complex" . Just attitude for no reason. Ordered their Calzone which was really oily. I really like the Stromboli here! The ranch dressing has great flavor. The premade slices of cheese pizza are great when a girl hasn't eaten for 24 hours due to school and work and may end up putting salsa on a textbook and devouring it while studying... back to the review. The place is a bit dinky and the guy legit tried to charge me 50¢ for a small cup of ranch I later requested. This was after I tipped $4 on a $9 tab. He relented after I handed him my card to pay for it as I don't carry cash. Note: don't get the jalapeño in the Stromboli as it's pickled and they put way too much inside. We're done with this place. May carry the name but horrible representation of it. We've tried them 5 times over the last 6 months. We've had 3 pizzas burned, 1 badly cut, and 1 not cut and burned. Every time we've asked for olives on the side, jack ass tells us they can't... wtf... we had to explain what on the side means and come to find out they premake the majority of their salds so thats why they don't want to do it. Even offered to pay extra last time to have olives put in a container on the side and they still refused. Last dine in the pizza dough was very off and over cooked. Not worth wasting my time - I'm sure the high school students with no taste will keep them open though. Done. My husband and I just moved to the area and have been in MASSIVE unpacking mode. So last night we look up from getting things organized and we realized it was 9pm. WHAT? 9pm we're hungry and decide we want pizza, but not from a chain. We wanted to try some good local pizza. We yelped and found Niki's. They were having a special $10 for a XL/Family size pizza. AWESOME, so we got half pepperoni and half pepperoni and mushroom. The hubs brought it back and we were happily surprised. It was great. The pizza had just enough sause a good amount of cheese and other toppings. The slices are large (New York Style) so it can totally feed more than suggested. I'd say give it a try. read more

The employee took our order, nothing more, nothing less. We then waited for around 20 minutes for our pizza and calzone to be prepared. The pizza was edible, though it was the thinnest slice I've ever had. The calzone, however, was tough as nails and was hard to chew. A gush of watery, red liquid came spraying out upon every bite. This was comparable to a dish you would heat up in the microwave. We also ordered a salad, which was oddly lukewarm. We got lucky and they had a special for an XL 3 topping for only $9.99 which is every Mon-Wed. The gentleman was very friendly and out pizza only took about 10 minutes to come out and it was delicious thin crust. The sauce was tangy with just the right amount of seasoning. We had Pepperoni, Italian sausage which were very very good and black olives. They sale pizza by the slice that are already cooked so if you're in a hurry they have something on the go for you as well. Pasta dishes and other menu items were available for very reasonable prices and even lunch specials with a drink all under $8! Being born and raised in NYC my entire life, I definitely know about the best pizza. Niki's was recommended by a few different people, so we know we just had to check it out. I always lower my expectations before trying out a recommended spot because tastes and opinions always vary. That said, I'm glad I lowered my expectations because I was a bit disjointed. Not because it was a bad experience, but because the Pizza was Ehhh. But I will say that the regular house salad was excellent. Fresh ingredients and crispy iceberg lettuce (my fav) and the Stromboli was good. Crispy outside and lots of cheese on the inside. Prices are decent as well. Staff was friendly and the place was very clean. This honestly reminds me of most mall food court pizza places- but its really good! The evening crowd is a little thing, which is great with the Little One and Big Boy, since they can't sit still or be quiet to save their lives. We normally get the extra large, 1/2 cheese for the boys, and half whatever we adults want. Its cheap, easy, fast, and we all have a good time. Oh man. I was reading up on pizza reviews and got excited about this place. It's a New York pizza place and even though I haven't had pizza in New York I've eaten pizza with some New Yorkers that they think are legit places. There's a place in Chicago that my husband and I loved so much so that's what I compare my New York pizza too. There were some mixed review of this place but I did see some reviews by people from the North East that liked the place. We were visiting my parents and they wanted us to eat together before we drove back to Houston. I really wanted pizza so I told him I was going to call in an order and he can pick it up. I called in and it was quick, easy and painless. We ordered the extra large supreme. They guy said it would 20 minutes. So about 30 or so minutes later there was the pizza at our house. It looked great and there were lots of toppings. I was disappointed because part of our pizza was folded up. Now I'm not sure if it shifted in the car and got stuck but I think it was packed in the box and then smashed. I feel that if shifted in the car we would have easily been able to fold it down. Not that case. I've had pizza delivered and picked it up before and it's always pretty hot when we get it. This not the case. It was warm almost cold. My husband said that he thought it was lousy pizza. The veggies didn't seemed as cooked as I would imagine pizza veggies would be. There was still a crunch as if it was still raw. I felt like for this style pizza maybe we got something that was too topping heavy. The crust seemed soggy also. There wasn't that good chew you get when you have decent, good pizza. It was just meh. We ate most of it because we were all hungry and my husband and I were hitting the road so we needed to eat. The last piece I ate I just ended up eating all the toppings. After I ate this pizza I was still craving pizza a few days after because this just wasn't good enough. It's debatable on whether we try this again. I know that my dad or husband probably won't go back but maybe I'll have to go back by myself and just get a simple slice and see how that goes. However, I went during the lunch hours and they have their lunch special for the SAME thing for a little cheaper. They still charged me full price and they knew it was lunch hours.... I didn't catch that in time until after I already paid for it and sat down at the table to look what else they would have on the menu. I love this pizza spot..I ordered the the Alfredo chicken pizza and added spinach it was really good if you like crunchy crust because I do!! I also ordered a hamburger meat and jalapeño Stromboli ..it was super hot and too much jalapeño but I really liked it, although I wish it wasn't that much jalapeño. How much is too much cheese? This was the first time I had a stromboli. It was.... good. Filled to the brim with cheese and then finished off with chunks of meat. The stromboli was hot, fresh and crisp out of the oven. It came with a round of pretty good marinara sauce. While we waited, we had a slice of New York style pizza. I went in expecting the worst and preparing for a disaster; New York style pizza is one of the Greatest styles of pizza on the face of God's green earth. There I said it. Oh gawd it was good. There I said that too. They also offer RC cola which you can rarely find around Tejas. The place is kept clean, and the people are friendly and helpful.
