I've been to this place three times. The first time the food was good and the service was slow. The second time the food was...okay and the service was slow. I took the wife last evening and after several minutes took or drink orders. We waited about fifteen minutes and she never returned to our table. After reading reviews I wanted to give this place a try. First place looks very dark and dirty. Carpet looks like it never been cleaned. I order falafel which should be thier trade mark. The falafel had no tahini suace and that makes the sandwich. The falafel was very dry definitely not done fresh tasted like you are eating sand. I ordered the Souvlaki Sandwich, which is pork, tomato, onion, ztaziki sauce. The down side of this place is that the sandwich is $6.50 and that's all you get, a sandwich. I decided to order a side of fries to go with it, they were $1.75 for a small nasty soggy amount....I won't make that mistake again, sandwich only it is. Before leaving I did order Baklava, this place makes the best baklava (aside from my mother) that I have tasted. They make it homemade...and it's delicious. My husband loves this place. This place is outstanding. The food is great and the service is as well. Sam runs a tight outfit and normally has a full staff standing by to serve you and your party's needs. We've been here so many times we're on a first name basis with all the staff. If there was a rewards program we'd be at elite status by now. I'm not too sure what elite status would entail but I'm sure priority seating and a free meal would be in order. For my first visit, I called ahead for carry-out lunch on a Friday. The food was ready and bagged when I arrived and smelled so good, it was tough not to rip into it on the way back to work. I wanted to try a variety of things so I ordered the Combo Platter - gyro meat, dolmades, spinach pie, salad and pita for $10.50. Also got an order of fries. Everything was good except for the dolmades, they just weren't made how I like them, I don't like them in tomato sauce. The spinach pie was really great and I was happy to see the meat was carved off the rotisserie and not the preformed slices I see at too many places these days. It was odd and disappointing that I had to pay an extra 1.50 for the tzatziki sauce over the meat, that should definitely be included. Overall it was good and the next time I have a craving for it I'll probably be back. read more

Server wasn't very attentive and we were the only customers in the restaurant. The food was good, but portions small. I ordered the combination platter. The spanikopita was soggy, instead of flaky and crispy. The salad had an olive, a slice of tomato and a slice of cucumber, and the dressing wasn't very flavorful. A local neighborhood Family restaurant located beach side. we live locally and come about once a week. The owner Sam is almost always their to greet everyone. The staff is excellent and friendly and responds to special requests. The food is quite good and Lebanese/Mediterranean based. We have lived in the area for forty years and used to enjoy coming to this restaurant. Some of the old time waitresses are really good and quite likeable. The food is usually decent, but the portions are small, and the prices have edged upward to the point where there is not as much value as there used to be. If you are lucky enough not to have any problems, you may emerge unscathed, but don't tangle with the owner. He is nasty, rude, overbearing, and obnoxious. Get the large Greek salad with gyro meat. Large portions for the price and they give you a side of pita bread. On most days, the meat is warm on top of the salad, which makes it so good! The tabouli salad, mousaka, beef shawarma and stuffed grape leaves were some of the most flavorful dishes we have had in a while. Many options...but not a bite was left. I was at Nikki with 5 friends. I ordered the vegetarian moussaka. It was not edible, freezer burned, with none of the ingredients listed on the menu visible to regular eyesight. I returned it and was told that there was nothing wrong with the dish.....was asked to pay for it, even though it was not edible. When I complained to the manager about paying for something not edible the manager actually yelled at me! The service was awful: I asked 3 times if I could have some lemon wedges for my hot tea and never got it. Worst place ever! Ordered a cheeseburger and received a very unpleasant hamburger Patti with no cheese. Definitely looked like something frozen out of a cafeteria. When I asked for my cheeseburger they simple plopped a piece of cheese on top of my burger. Then my husband ordered a French onion soup and it was over seasoned and just not good. The service here is beyond bad. My wife and I wen into the place for lunch...she ordered "the village salad" which cost about $10, and they brought out a plate of cucumbers and tomatoes with a little feta cheese on them. When we explained that the menu said the salad also had black olives and peppers,first the waitress said it didn't. When we showed her the menu, she agreed, went back to the kitchen and brought us a side plate with 1 olive and 1 pepper. She said that was the best she could do... All the while the cooks in the background were describing my wife as "the bitching lady". Do yourself a favor...don't let people like this cook you food. Have been going to this restaurant for ten years. Food has been good, service OK. I will never go back again!! Last night ordered a rice pudding to go for a neighbor; got home and the take out cup was one third full with a half inch of cream. In the past I have made the same request but the cup was almost full. The manager said obviously the servers were too generous!! Give me a break; we are not talking about a crenels brûlée. We live in the area and stopped in for dinner. What a mistake! The food quality was extremely poor. Being food lovers I strongly advise you to Stay Away! Here's the low down; their signature chicken dish was severely over cooked and dry, the accompanying mixed vegetables were "canned" not fresh (school cafeteria-like and inedible). The Mediterranean Combo Plater was served in a small oval bowl. The presentation was amateurish at best, and looked more like a squished-up mess. I heard about Niki's Rainbow Restaurant and how good the food is so I thought I'd try it out for lunch. I walked in for my lunch break and noticed a table of other people waiting for their food. Our food came out first before the other table and so they asked where is there food is? Some guy who might have been the owner blew up and started yelling at them for asking where their food is. The show continued by more yelling when one person at the table said they only had an hour for lunch. Asking where your food is, is a reasonable request because like me I only had an hour for lunch. I thought I heard the man yell is " ...YOU HAVE TO TELL ME YOU ARE IN A RUSH!..." I thought "Really? IT's lunch time in America not a siesta in Mexico!" and almost said something...but it wasn't my issue but theirs. The food was good, actually really good and we were happy. The other table more than likely not because they left with food to go, probably to eat it at work! We ordered takeout last weekend and it was terrible. The Lemon-Chicken Orzo Soup was AWFUL, had no lemon or chicken in it and the gyros were so dry the lamb was like beef jerky and they were very bland with very little sauce. We ordered 3 containers of the soup that was so bland it tasted like wallpaper paste. I took back the two unopened containers and the owner was extremely rude. He offered no apology, only raised his voice and stated and re-stated that he couldn't take it back, and wouldn't give my money back. I asked him about the recipe for the soup, how much lemon and chicken was in the recipe because there was NONE in the soup we paid for, and he admitted that he was out of that and substituted plain orzo but that no one else had complained. I will never eat here again! There is obviously a new owner as I had the soup here several years ago and it was enjoyable. I won't even go into how rude the owner was, raising his voice when I was trying to be quiet and not disturb other diners or make a scene. Wow! Nasty! read more

My husband and I went to Niki's Rainbow restuarant last night and I was expecting a great dinner as I usually had on many previous occasions. We were the only people there but due to the rain, I guess most people did not want to venture out. When we first walked in the waitress, Erin, was very rude to us. I was trying to get my raincoat off, put my purse down and I was asked 3 times what I wanted to drink. I really would like to settle in first before I give a drink order. Since I could not make up my mind so fast and my husband didn't know immediately what he wanted, she huffed off and slammed two waters down in front of us. She proceeded to go behind the counter to yell at the kitchen staff. At least this gave us time to look at the menu and decide what we wanted to eat. When she came back, she rudely asked if we were ready to order. So, I ordered the Greek Salad with grilled Chicken and my husband ordered the Beef Kabobs. His order came with a small greek side salad. My husband's salad came out rather quickly and to my amazement, he had 1 kalamata olive in the whole salad. I thought it was a fluke. Our entree came out next. My Greek salad also contained 1 kalamata olive! My salad also included 1 very, very, very thin slice of tomato, cut in half, and 2 transparent slices of cucumber. The feta cheese was almost non-existant and the dressing was overwhelmed by vinegar. The chicken was grilled very well. My husband's beef kabob was so tough, we were sure it was stew meat or some other cheap cut of beef. He did not finish his meal because by the time he was done chewing the meat, he was too worn out to eat the rice that came with it. As we were vowing to never come back again, we were certain we made the right decision because then the kitchen staff cranked up the radio they were listening to. And it wasn't pleasant. Then, to add insult to injury, the aforementioned waitress was on a personal phone call and using various vulgarities. I'm not sure which was worse... the music from the kitchen or the foul language. I wanted to get out of there and go home. We asked for our check and I packed up the rest of my chicken and got the bill. By this time, our waitress knew we were less than pleased (I'm sure my astonished glances gave her a clue) and she began her over-the-top-sugar-sweet service because she knew it was TIP TIME!! Almost every single time we eat out (4-5 times per week) I tip 20% based on great service. I did not believe she warranted 20% nor even 15%, I was comfortable with 10% or less. My husband caved and gave her 15% and I feel ripped off. We were treated like unwelcomed bad relatives, paid for 2 meals that were not cheap but were cheaply made and I will never spend my hard earned money again on Niki's Rainbow Restaurant in Indialantic.
