I loved the ambience so much ! Very beautiful place , great for date night . I loved their Buddha statue they had also , it was gorgeous! Flashing neon lights were surrounding it . The food was very good , and the prices were just right . I ordered the black n pink roll , very good ! Nicely plated , and just enough to satisfy my hunger . The only problem I'm had was with the waitress , I mean we barely had just sat down and she's already asking for our order . Like can we breathe a second and look at the menu ?'! Very pushy , she asked us three times if we were ready . She also asked if we wanted an alcoholic drink and I said not right now so she took the menu . Sushi - Fresh and dedicated sushi bar that goes above my expectations on flavor and quality. Try the Avocado Ball and the Out of Control Roll! Those two are my absolute favorite. Hibachi - Chefs are friendly, funny, and create a great hibachi performance environment. Great place for a date or to bring some family for an entertaining night out. The wait is finally over!!! I've been waiting for months and was very curious to see the end result. Fantastic sums it up!! The hibachi experience was very entertaining. Our chef Kevin had a great sense of humor. He was very generous with the sake shots. Perfect dining experience for children. Our daughter loved watching her food cook right before her eyes. Oh and Kevin loves kids sake shots - water of course. I did catch the zucchini in my mouth on the 2nd try lol. The sushi that others were eating looked delicious but I stayed with the traditional hibachi menu. I ordered the Filet mignon and shrimp combination. The food was fresh and seasoned well. The cocktails were also great. Since the place is a week old our first drink choice was not yet available. I gobbled up my delicious fried ice cream for dessert. The portion was the perfect size for 2 adults and a child. Although we did want more!! I can't forget about the decor in this place. Definitely walk over to the other dining area to see the beautiful and very large Buddha sculpture. My daughter loved making wishes and prayers. There is also a large bar area and raw sushi bar. The staff does a wonderful celebration for birthdays. A drum is used along with singing to serve a beautiful firework among the desserts. We came on a Saturday afternoon at around 12. The restaurant supposedly opens at 11 but the way service was, it was as if they just opened. Food is standard and typical. Nothing spectacular but nothing horrible either. We had hibachi so the chef was fun like all hibachi chefs with their typical tricks. Flavors are a bit different than Benihana. I like the garlic butter for Benihana which this place doesn't have. But maybe it's a Benihana only thing. Overall I would return bc of its proximity to my house. But other than that eh. I ordered $65 work of food that left me scratching my head when my food arrived. But I was hungry so why not. I ordered the shrimp and filet mignon hibachi dinner for $27, California, Philadelphia and shrimp mango rolls from the appetizers menu, and a coconut ice cream dessert. Well, my food arrived in about 35 mins as predicted but without my dessert. But I was also missing utensils. For the price I just paid? Shame on them!!! I was really looking forward to enjoying my sushi with a pair of chopsticks but I figured no big deal I'll use a fork. I tasted the shrimp mango roll and thought it bland in the flavor department but I was too hungry to start with this so I figured I'd start with the main course since everything was in one container. I tasted the fried rice and thought it was decent. Prior to sitting down I had called and requested that my dessert be delivered. I was offered a restaurant credit but I declined. I wanted to complete my meal with something sweet. The shrimp was nicely cooked and so was my meat but I wished it had been a bit more for the price. The meal came with hibachi veggies as well which also was nicely prepared but it seems a lot of msg was used in preparing this meal as the taste lingered on my tongue. Just when I was about to take another bite of my veggies I noticed something stringy in the mix. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a piece of metal from the metal brush/scrub used to clean the grill. As you can imagine I was disgusted and threw the food out. After reading reviews where people have gotten terribly ill after eating at this place, I now understand why. I contacted the restaurant and was told I'd be given a $27 credit as opposed to a refund. I'm going to demand a refund as I don't suppose I'd be eating at this place in the future. I'm still so darn hungry. read more

My score for them off my 1st visit is a 3.7 Stars-- Everyone was professional and courteous, it was clean and the food didn't take long at for a walk in order. Now to the food.. I got the hibachi fried rice (vegetable) for 8.50, it was a big enough portion to eat now and some for work tomorrow. The taste was great! My tummy is happy Sushi, I was not really happy that they didn't have a half price menu; you're near two colleges, there should be a special going for half-price rolls every weekday. I ended up paying $12 for the oddly arranged, but tasty and average sized spider roll. (Thank god for my parents credit card) lol the roll was good, not great. I've had better back home in Cincinnati and even some half priced rolls mind you. This place is great. The food is really good- I usually get hibachi chicken and shrimp which is awesome. The cocktails and drinks are fairly priced and actually taste worth it! One drink and you're good to go! I haven't sat in the restaurant portion yet but it looks very nice. The staff is welcoming and fast. The music is fun which really makes the place a little more lively and casual then the usual stuck up and boring restaurants in this neighborhood! I eat out at hibachi spots often, and this place is a gem in Queens. Absolutely amazing! Call me bias but this place set the bar! I've never been to an Hibachi restaurant! It was so intimate and inclusive, and Jerry our cook was amazing. We ordered the chicken and steak combo and it was made with perfection. We also had a side of salad which had the best salad dressing and the soup was finger-licking good. I was a bit skeptical when this hibachi/sushi place opened up near SJU. The restaurants here traditionally are pretty average but who doesn't like dinner and a show? First, the decor is nice and the restaurant is clean. Staff is very courteous and as a plus, all servers speak good English which is more rare than one would think in a hibachi restaurant. The food is surprisingly pretty good for a hibachi place. Everything is cooked well and the chefs are good about keeping the audience engaged. We also tried the Tiger Roll which was quite good. Prices are about standard for hibachi and the only drawback is that the wait for the chef to start the meal was a bit longer than my usual experience at similar restaurants. When they do get started though, they're pretty good and I don't think I can recall a better hibachi place in Queens. As long as they keep it at this level, this will be my choice if we're craving hibachi. read more

The chef was 5 star, I absolutely enjoyed the food and the show! Which was perfect because we there taking my boyfriends college student son to lunch for his birthday! And this was his choice, the food was cooked to perfection, not over seasoned, which can happen in hibachi, the steak was cooked just as it was ordered and the rice portions were actually pretty large. We had shrimp, chicken, steak and scallops all going and all cooked just right. And during all of this, we had sake shots, shows going and laughter flowing! The 4 stars is because it's very close to the college and they discontinued their college student discount, so this is for them, I'm sure this cannot be good for the students. I decided to try this place because the reviews on Yelp were great. I came on a Saturday night with my son and it was pretty busy so it must be good right. Glad I tried this place. The food was delicious. Lots of flavor which a lot of hibachi places lack. The staff was very friendly and our wait was only 10 minutes. They also have a very nice dinning room for kitchen food and sushi which I will be coming back to try. We had a spider roll and the shrimp and scallops hibachi. Everything was great. The only reason I didn't give 5 starts was the portions were smaller than other places. They don't fill up your plate and I left still hungry. So if you're a big eater you better order some extras. Came here for happy hour and while the appys were great @$4/plate and very yummy, the service didn't seem to be happy about our presence. The other thing was that draft beers were 2/$7 , my girlfriend decided to split two beers. Midway thru, the waitress tells us each person had to order two beers. I wasn't happy about that since my friend didn't really drink and I had convinced her to share the deal. Now she had two glasses hardly touched. The ambiance here is a little weird. It's very dark with club like music playing. Not a really good atmosphere for a date or a dinner to catch up with friends. The food was pretty good! I got the salmon hibachi. It came with 2 pieces of shrimp, a salad, a soup, vegetable fried rice, vegetable and 2 pieces of salmon. Very filling!!! The hibachi chef was super friendly and interactive with everyone at our table! I'll definitely be back here for hibachi again. However, one of my friends decided to order off the kitchen menu instead of getting hibachi. My fiancé and I visited on a Saturday night around 7 while our son was across the street at MyGym. Upon us entering the restaurant we were greeted and seated. There are 3 televisions in the bar area. As we began to look at our drink menu and menu, we were greeted by our waitress, Anne. She took our drink orders. He had a Margarita and I ordered a Sake Bomb. While we were waiting for our drinks we continued to look through the menu. We ordered a sushi roll (the name is escaping me). We both ordered hibachi plates which include soup, salad, veggies, 2 shrimp and fried rice. While we waited for our dinner the sushi came out. And I must say it was delicious. We finished our drinks and the wait to have refills was a bit of a wait. Our soups came out but were a bit underwhelming because they were overly salty. The salad was just mediocre. Just your standard hibachi salad with carrot ginger dressing. Our dinner arrives and it looked divine. The aesthetics of the plate alone made up for the salty miso soup. I ordered the salmon and he ordered the steak. I enjoyed my meal. I didn't consume my fried rice as I am off of consuming white rice. He enjoyed his steak as well. For Dessert I ordered a fried green tea ice cream and he had the pistachio cappichio. The dessert was also delicious. The down side of the visit was the length of time in between reordering drinks. When she finally did take our drink orders she brought the wrong drink for me. When I asked her to me the correct drink she tried to persuade me to keep it saying it was delicious. Large restaurant that is great for large groups. I came here with a party of 20+. No parking lot, Only street parking. I ordered the Avocado Tartar, and Spider Crab Roll. The avocado Tartar was wrapped in a ball shape which was pretty interesting making it super presentable. However, taste wise, it was pretty bland, the tartar lacked flavor. You had to literally dump it in soy sauce. The Spider Crab Roll was also all right, I felt like it lacked any character to it. It was simply ingredients and the spider crab put together. Nothing really screamed at me. Pricing, for the flavors and food did not match up in my opinion. I wouldn't return unless i had another party, or outing here that was good for big groups. read more

Sad to say I bragged about this place to my family and convinced them to try it out. They ended up agreeing to try the place out. Unfortunately since the minute they pulled into the parking lot two employees were smoking out there, they step inside their expectations were even lower no one was in sight not a host/manager/waiter. To my surprise the Have a B rating on the window. Now I felt bad and started wondering why. Well the service was awful, felt rushed. Now the food wasn't great either no taste to it, the filet mignon tasted like freezer burn and like it had been just defrosted. We didn't eat it and they didn't care to switch it or do anything about it for that matter so about 6 dishes of meat were not touched. We had a cake for our birthday boys which was brought out unannounced while the whole hibachi table was still full of dirty plates and empty cups all over not only that we had decided to have their dessert instead but never provided a dessert menu. (Rushed again) So we had to move around the used and dirty dishes to take pictures. Upon asking to please clean up our table. Finally the "manager" came over while the table was stilll dirty and wanted to proceed to cut the cake with an attitude . (That was obviously melting because they put it on top of the hibachi grill) . Again we asked to please remove the empty cups and plates. She walked away and never sent anyone. We waived down a busboy he brings over the bucket to put the empty cups and dishes, while he is doing that another waiter comes by grabs him and he leaves now the dirty bucket on top of our table. Overall it was a poor poor experience. And please your menus are not disinfected to be placed on top of the dishes the tables are set up with. read more

Wow. Pleasantly surprised. Came with hubby and son. Waited 5 minutes for a booth. Ordered drinks: nigiri, Sapporo on tap. Appetizers: spicy tuna and avocado balls (actually bland but not bad) beautiful presentation. In fact all the plating is beautiful! Also citrus salmon carpaccio (light, lovely flavor). Tom yom soup (Thai I know , but really good with shrimp and scallops). Seafood miso soup (lots of seafood and good miso broth). Dinner was chicken teriyaki with fried rice (nice presentation, with crunchy onions and sweet sauce and broccoli). Hibachi shrimp and scallops too. The first time I ate at Nikko's I had their actual hibachi where you watch the chef prepare the food right in front of you. The chef was funny and interactive and the food was really good! It was a little expensive so I really recommend going there for their happy hour instead! It's from 3pm-7pm and the portions aren't has big but it's definitely enough. The first time I did their happy hour I got to sit at a regular table and could pick from sushi and hibachi dishes. Their beer for happy hour is $6 buy one get one free and cocktails are $7-$8. But the other time I went for happy hour I had to sit at the bar to get the deal and they gave me a smaller menu which didn't have the hibachi options. But it included the sushi rolls and appetizers which were $4 each. Either way my experiences at this restaurant have been pretty good so far. read more
