I recently went to Nikko's and to say I was disappointed is being nice. The service was lousy. The chef was horrible He didn't divide the food properly and in some cases forgot to give what people ordered. The waitress all she cared about was adding her tip on the bill. Never came around to see if everyone was ok. I been to Nikko's and absolutely loved this place. Their services was very nice , food was great. Prices was reasonable. Since covid they have completely changed. It appears customer service is not on their agenda. They use to have happy hour. That's gone.. Now it's all about packing them in and charging. My bestfriend loves this place. We came here for hibachi lunch. The lunch menu has great prices. I had the shrimp with rice and veggies and she had the scallops. Both were very good. The rice is always so good with their yum yum sauce the best. We ordered pina colada's with no liquor. It was so delicious. We'll definitely be back again for lunch or dinner. I can't believe how pretty this place is! I can't believe it's the old Sly Fox. Anyway, the place is really good. We had the Kani salad which was very good. The appetizers Saigon Spicy Tuna wrap was really good. The duck roll was good. Our rolls for the main course were really good too. We were celebrating Mother's Day and made reservations for 15 people. They sat us down immediately and took drink orders as we waited for the rest of the party. We ordered our entrees and the show began. The chefs introduced themselves and started performing tricks. They pour sake into your mouth from a ketchup bottle and fling vegetables into your mouth. I usually come to Nikko's approximately twice per year. Today was the earliest I've come here, which about 6:00 p.m...just in time for "happy hour." I entered the restaurant and waited near the sign that read, "Please wait to be seated."...I waited and waited for about five minutes. Five minutes maynot seem like a long time but it is when you feel as though you are being ignored. The staff was walking past me, even the girl to the right of me whom I assumed would have been the person responsible to seat the customers. Anyway, I flagged down a waitress and she escorted me to a table. I was curious about the Nikko's Margarita-I love variety and am willing to try anything once, so I inquired about the ingredients of the drink and she said that she didn't know. I then asked her would she be able to find out from the bar tender? She then proceeded to the bar area, returned to my table and said and I quote "It's spicy" and walks off. Ooook Another waiter, Johnny, comes to my table to take my order. Anyway, I became confused because I had two waiters waiting on me. It wouldn't be a problem if I wasn't asked the same questions by different people. For instance, "are you ready to order"? No thank you...I placed my order with the other waitress... I think the problem was that there were no assigned tasks at this restaurant. The greeter did not greet me or take me to my table and now I have two waiters. By the way, Johnny was phenomenal. No one told me about the happy hour specials which were $4 and $5 appetizers. I ordered the King lobster roll which was ginormous. It was ok. The texture was a little off. I also had a Seaweed salad and a strawberry Margarita that was drowning in ice, otherwise tasty. My bill arrived and $40 later I had to ask if they had mints ...I mean after a meal containing fish amd seaweed salad, one would think I needed two or three. The food was amazing, the service by the busser was incredible. Can't say the same for the waiters though, great service overall. Waiters never asked for any refills or how was the food or even said enjoy when bringing the the food out. Gave the tip to the busboy rather than the waiter because he actually deserved it. Also the bar is a complete fakery, because I ordered a Machallan 12 on the rocks. Drank a sip and was actually disgusted because they gave me some cheap house scotch trying to pass it off as Machallan. The funniest part of the experience was when the manager didn't even know what the hell she was talking about, she called Machallan "Cognac" and said she saw the bartender pour it out. This is my go to for hibachi. Had my daughters party here and got a party room. Staff catered to all our needs and some rowdy children. Food is tasty. Professional service. Five stars all round. I went here this past weekend to celebrate a friend's birthday. This place is really popular for special occasions or just to have a fun meal. The hibachi was a fun (and funny) experience. Our chef was entertaining, funny, and tried his best to eliminate the initial awkwardness. I ordered the chicken hibachi lunch. The fried rice was tasty, and the chicken/vegetables weren't bad. But, don't expect too much from the food. You're paying more for the experience rather than the food itself. Overall, for the $9 lunch, I'd come back. Hibachi! I came here for lunch on a weekday and it wasn't busy at all. I ordered the Angus steak($15) and Salmon ($12) Hibachi. The chef came and did all the standard Hibachi tricks (Tossing food and squirting Sake into my mouth, onion volcano) I was thoroughly entertained. The fried rice was yummy! It's cooked with butter and their house-made sweet Mayo. The vegetables were well seasoned. The angus steak was tender and had nice flavor. The salmon wasn't bad, not overly dry; can't expect too much from cooked salmon. Topped with Teriyaki sauce. Overall, it's a pretty good Hibachi spot and great value for lunch. Verdict: I'll be back to try some other hibachi options and their sushi. read more

You can come for hibachi, to order a la carte or just seat in the bar, they have huge bar. Services are great! Back ago when i used to eat meat i've always ordered steak hibachi- THE BEST steak hibachi is here- soft juicy - just perfect! 3 days ago i took mixed seafood hibachi- scallops, shrimps, lobster- was great as well! I absolutely love hibachi chef entertainment while cooking! And sake on the house is great ( not for everyone, just when you drink a lot ! ) I do recommend this place for all- good for family dinner, kids, date, friends, birthdays etc. Very well done! When I used to work at a doctor's office across the street, we would place a large order from Nikko for every special occasion: staff birthdays, holidays, going away parties, etc. They never took issue with our requests to individually label dishes according to employee names. Lunch delivery has always been timely, given that you call the day before for a catering-sized order. I am especially a fan of their Chilean sea bass hibachi entrée! Saturday night at 6pm - this place was JAMMING. We were a party of 6 with a 6 pm reservation. Wound up being seated at 640 due to other parties running late. It's a Saturday night, so not unexpected. The host was absolute overrun yet still managed to communicate with us and gave the two kids with us free strawberry drinks while we waited. Their waiting area is VERY SMALL, if you are coming on a busy night, prepare yourself for a wait and to be a little smooshed. Once we were seated this place ran like a well oiled machine . The servers and the chef were on point. Food: I saw a review on the spicy garlic edamame and wanted to try- it was ok . The star is the hibachi food. The soup starter with the mushrooms was so delicious. The filet mignon and the shrimp also delicious! If you can get past the loudness , this place is great. First and last time. I was there for dinner and felt rushed out. The girls clearing the table would not even ask if you were finished with a dish but would reach in and take it away. I bet they will reuse the untouched salad that they took from me. I also disliked that they decided how much tip one should leave. As far as I remember, in this country, we still have a process where the customer gets to choose what tip to leave not to have a choice made for them. Aggressive tactics like these cannot be good for business and you could bet we are not going there again but would take our business elsewhere. I've never had takeout that's was so generous with their sushi. I had sushi takeout from other places that skimp on their sushi and it's so disgusting to look at, then you have this place that actually packs the fish in the rolls :) kudos. I took a splurge and ordered the sashimi deluxe as well and I need to know where they get their sashimi because this was the best budget friendly sashimi I've ever had. The fish we're all so butter and delicious I took several bites of each piece to savor it instead of eating one piece a bite! I was a bit upset a few months ago when I noticed they took their lunch specials off their website for takeout. I think they have it still though because their in store menu seems to have it. We got seated rather quickly, at a Hibachi table where there was a family of 4 seated. The ambiance is nice, yet deceiving... The lady came & asked for our order & we told her we were waiting on someone. When my sister came back, she came again ready to take our orders so that was a turn off because we felt rushed. We had to ask someone to bring us the menu back. We ordered a crab stick, I WISH I took a picture!!! It was ONE crab stick cut in 1/2 & the guy told us it was 2 pieces. Really?! $2.50 for a joke. It was like a baby index finger...wtf?! The cook used the same "yummy yummy" sauces for everything, AKA: soy sauce & veggie oil. The shrimp, salmon, chicken, rice, lobster tail...EVERYTHING was extremely salty, not to mention the smallest portions I've ever had at a Hibachi spot. The cook asked the family if they wanted butter on the rice that was for all us & completely disregarded us. We ate because we were hungry, but I'm pretty sure my blood pressure is high now. This place is your typical Hibachi, always packed and busy. They sat us all the way in the back where it is freezing, that's why I'm only giving 3 stars. Plus they are very unorganized in the front even with my reservation. However, the food was amazing and they don't skimp on the portion sizes! Bae and I got the Black N Pink roll as well as the Salmon skin roll. Both were incredible. I loved the yum yum sauce and I used it throughout my whole meal. For Hibachi, I decided on the salmon which was packed with flavor and the rice was good. Bae had the Filet mignon which he said was perfect but since we were seated in the cold, it didn't stay hot for long which disappointed him. He's a calamari connoisseur and this one he said was just okay. I ordered the lychee martini and it was very strong. There was no actual lychee included which disappointed me a little. Bae had a passion fruit mojito which was also strong but more tasty. Our cook Steve was very funny and enjoyable. I would come back but I would have to be seated in the front. read more

The sushi roll was FANTASTIC!!! It was a "Passion" roll had mango sauce, mango, crab and lobster meat. It was perfect. The drinks ordered were not great, way too sweet for my taste. I ordered a spicy martini which was not spicy at all just very very sweet. Yuck. My date ordered a Mule and again too sweet they used too much ginger beer. The food would've been fantastic, because Hibachi is always supposed to be fun and entertaining but unfortunately my food made a second appearance later in my early morning. Maybe one of the meats were not cooked well enough or the shell fish was not fresh. I threw it all up and it was the only thing I ate for the evening. I ordered Chicken and Salmon with noodles and my date had a Medium angus steak and scallops with the rice. I am not sure but the salmon and scallops tasted a little too fishy and I know that means it's not at its freshesssst. I did also notice that the establishment had a B rating, I never really worry but perhaps they need another inspection. read more

The DH wanted hibachi and I didnt want to go back to Tokyo so we decided to try Nikko. We're so glad we did. I ordered the spicy girl, chicken/shrimp and Angus steak combo. Yummy! I give 3 stars because there was no social distancing in the restaurant and we were seated at a table very closely to other patrons. For a NYC restaurant I still find this unacceptable. Food was good though, I liked the chef in front of us. I do think they took a while to bring out our appetizer though and the food followed shortly after.
