But Phil was calm and spent time to answer my questions about my battery warning issue. Seems he has nailed the importance of this small but huge aspect of customer psychology. For me, it's this initial contact that usually seals the deal in the decision to take the next step. Felt very comfortable after speaking to Phil that they would take a good look and confirm what I was experiencing with the car. Most people nowadays are reading up on the symptoms with AI, and a good shop imo assumes this interaction. Phil gave me a very reasonable quote and confirmed my hunches were on track. Took the car in first thing in the morning and spoke with a gentleman (maybe the owner) who took my report . No one rushed me, which is key for me. I understand that time is money, but so is trust. For most people, this is won or lost in the first conversation. It's tough because people are just not happy to begin with when they staring down a hefty bill, no matter what usually. EA Service nailed it. Felt totally comfortable the whole time that the car was in good hands, and they did why they said. Period. The price was below the initial estimate which was nice. Phil also did not up-charge me for a battery he ended up getting/needing from the dealer. Extra nice. For a first time experience I was very pleased, and I am pretty skeptical when it comes to shops generally. Compared to other experiences Phil and the shop hit every mark. Extra points for communication, which again is huge. Gave me back a clean car fixed right. Earned my business, and can't say enough about Phil, who if you read the reviews, is clearly a huge factor in the customer experience. Super good guy and communicator. Some other things that I was told needed to be fixed by other people turned out not to be true and they knew that, so they didn't try to sell me on that. They are wonderful guys because very rarely do you find a place that doesn't make up other things to sell you on.
