I will say if you are super hungry, grab a side to go with it. However, the salad was tasty. They have a small room in the back where you can have a semi-private party. Stopped in around 6 on a Wednesday for a Guinness and bite to eat. The bar was full, so we sat at a table in view of the bar. Other than the bar being full, there were two or three other tables. We waited, as servers passed by, for about 20 minutes. And decided to leave. It's a shame because this had been one of my favorite places to go for a Guinness. I've been to Nine Irish Brothers up in West Lafayette and loved it. This is a great place to go before a show at Old National Center! The interior is that of an Irish pub. It's a neat place inside. The waiter was nice and did a good job! We ordered the fish and chips. Those are good!! Huge pieces of fish! The waitress who brought us our plates said they make really good cocktail sauce and wanted to know if we wanted to try it. Yes, we did! It was made in house and was good! The fish was crispy and had a great breading on it. The slaw was good and crunchy and the chips - potatoes I loved with malt! I loved the Notre Dame glass as I'm a big Notre Dame fan. Go for the music and stay for the drinks! We went on a Saturday night and got seated right away. One of my friends ordered food and enjoyed it. I was there for a night out with live music and Nine Irish served it up! They have many beers on draft and are generous with the cocktails. Also, this place is still crazy affordable. I got a couple rounds of drinks for 3 of us for less than $40. You must know that mini car bombs are a thing! A much needed thing when you're well into your mid 30s. Good vibes. Good music. I'm going to start this review out at four stars and hope that I can increase it up to five stars. We were told to wait to be seated via the sign at the front. So we stood there for two or three minutes until somebody came and told us we could sit anywhere we wanted to. That person then took our drink orders and went away and never came back. Our server came over pretty shortly thereafter and asked asked if we wanted anything to drink. We told her we had already ordered water. She took our food order and was very nice. About 5 or 10 minutes later she realized that the other person had not brought our waters. She brought them as I was finally over it and calling the restaurant to find somebody to bring me water. We are currently waiting for food to come. Stay tuned... The hubby says that the Caesar was just a regular caesar. The croutons which he did not eat are leftover rye bread and they are not crunchy. The dressing was really good to dip them in though. I was expecting something magical with a rotisserie baked and then fried wing but I was underwhelmed. They were average. They were not crunchy. The sauce was good. The goat fritters were delicious and they are not kidding in the description when they say rich. I would ask for the raspberry sauce on the side. They were crunchy and really good though. Overall, it was pretty good. It's not a destination I will seek again but if I happen to be over here I would come here again. read more

Had dinner here last night after seeing Pretty Woman at Old National. The Irish Butt shot is delightful. A bit of a burn followed by sweetness. The corn chowder is thick and very hearty. I had a half order of the Guinness stew. That came with a scoop of mashed on top and it was perfect. Meaty, nice sauce, and the veggies were perfect. As an appetizer I tried the pub chips. The chips were cooked perfectly. The sauce is a honey mustard which I thought could have been better. The atmosphere was great as well. The place was packed by the time I left, but it wasn't overly noisy. Lots of little nooks to sit it. read more

I enjoy bringing friends and family to the 9 Irish Brithers whenever they are in town, as the food is delicious and you feel like you are sitting in a pub in the UK. It is fun to come during games, as everyone really gets into it. I cannot recommend enough getting the Sheppard's pie, it is delicious and great as the weather gets colder. read more

Been there for meals three times now with my family and really liked it each time. We've had, and enjoyed, the potato skins appetizer (which now seems to be gone), the beef stew, corned beef & cabbage, and fish and chips. Whole portions are BIG. They had a sign posted offering a drink special and chose not to honor. Waitress stated there were no managers on duty. Cashier is Jason M. Waitress stated it was a previous day's special. She advised just to not tip her. I enjoyed my previous visits to the location in West Lafayette, but this is not acceptable. This place is awesome! Been here twice for Corned Beef and Cabbage and then Fish and Chips. Both were incredible. The Irish Nachos are better than any nachos I've ever had. Finish Dinner off with a Bread Pudding and an Irish Coffee or Nutty Irishman. You can thank me later! read more

We've been to Nine and loved it so we had to try the Indy spot. Very cool, right in the heart of Mass Ave and they have quite a bit of outside seating, some right on Mass, some on a shaded patio on East St. We shared the goat cheese fritters which were good but cave out to us cool. The vinaigrette served on the salad greens with it was tasty. I ordered the Guinness stew and it had been burned at one point. They shouldn't have tried to reclaim the remainder, very bad taste. Our waitress was very good about it and replaced with the Shepherd's pie. RRR ordered the Shepherd's pie and had to send it back as it was cool. So not the best experience but maybe just a bad night. The SP was good but the stew would have been better if it hadn't tasted burnt. The menu is limited, nothing like Lafayette, but that's probably COVID related. read more

I normally like to order food at a place before I post a review but I didnt get that chance here. We walked in with a group of friends for halloween and were greeted as soon as we walked in by very friendly staff. We ordered a ton of drinks right off the bat and got everything we asked for... just as we asked for it in record time! Bartenders were very professional and made sure we had a fantastic time. Was going to a show on Mass Ave and just wandered trying to decide where to eat. Stopped at NIB and asked the greeter about the menu. This wasn't the hostess so I was impressed how much this gentleman knew about the menu and was willing to answer our questions. I even asked if they do a "good pour" and he knew exactly what I was talking about. I was really interested when I saw mussels and soda bread on the menu. There were actually several legit Irish items on the menu. I did go with the mussels which are in a white cream sauce. I always worry about ordering mussels outside of a seafood restaurant especially in Indy but these were excellent. I was even surprised at the size of the portion which was very filling. The soda bread was 5 nice slices and very tasty. My friend went with a half order of the fish and chips. A good sized portion for a half, well prepared and not fried to death. Wow, I can't recall the last time I've been so unimpressed. Several items on the menu were unavailable. After trying my dish of dry/tough corned beef, I tried the instant potatoes. My husband at least had some instant gravy on his potatoes. I also tried the bread pudding. Man it really needed some ice cream, but none was available. I'm feeling middle of the road on this one. First and foremost, the service was fantastic. Our waiter was on it and handled our plethora of questions very well --- "what would you order?" "in a toss up between the shepherd's pie and corned beef and cabbage - - who wins?" I really appreciated the vibe inside the restaurant - all wooden and cozy. Definitely the kind of place to hang out after work on a week night in the winter. Unfortunately, something about this place feels very manufactured to me. Maybe it was the instant potatoes that threw me off. C'mon, this is an Irish joint and homemade potatoes are pretty simple and budget-friendly. If you like your corned beef on the traditional side, note that theirs is shredded. Somewhat similar to pulled pork. Not that it's a bad thing - just different. Indianapolis has come a long way over the years when it comes to restaurants. The newest addition to Mass Ave, 9 Irish Brothers, is another great example of how awesome the Circle City is when it comes to great food, live music and an all-around fun place to be. Not into the live music? The patio seemed to be a favorite among many.. it was full when I arrived, and full when I left around 11pm. I swung by for a pint on opening night, and was lucky enough to have friends that had staked out a spot right in front of the stage, allowing us to watch Lachlan perform. Talk about a great duo.. I even checked the restaurants website to see if they were booked for entertainment again.. thankfully they'll be back in July. The place comes about as close as I think Indy will ever get to an authentic Irish bar. A massive bar with a healthy beer, wine and spirit menu that included local beer selections from Triton as well as Towyard. TV's were a little smaller than I expected, but they blended into the background well enough that you could see them if you wanted too, but they were out of the way if you didn't. Even though it was opening night, the staff seemed to be able to handle it very well. Our server checked on us at least a half dozen times while we sipped our pints and watched the band perform. Menu items on the menu included the traditional irish pub fare: fish and chips, full irish breakfast, reubens, etc. I'm really looking forward to trying one of the dinners the next time I'm there. In terms of the price, they appear to be in line with what I have come to expect on Mass Ave: $15ish per entree and slightly less for sandwiches. 9 Irish Brothers.. welcome to the neighborhood. I have a good and rowdy time with friends on the weekends or when there is live music playing. It can get quite loud. On St. Patty's Day, this place is packed wall to wall, door to door. Came here for drinks with coworkers and it was a cool place. It was pre-St Patrick's Day, so everything was decorated for the holiday. I had an Irish Car Bomb for the first time. Please excuse me if I'm being culturally ignorant...but that's what everyone called it. Sorry to say, I did not enjoy it. I knew I had to try it though. They served it in short and tall.
