Fish and chips is good here!!
    Kara M.

I've been to Nine Irish Brothers up in West Lafayette and loved it. This is a great place to go before a show at Old National Center! The interior is that of an Irish pub. It's a neat place inside. The waiter was nice and did a good job! We ordered the fish and chips. Those are good!! Huge pieces of fish! The waitress who brought us our plates said they make really good cocktail sauce and wanted to know if we wanted to try it. Yes, we did! It was made in house and was good! The fish was crispy and had a great breading on it. The slaw was good and crunchy and the chips - potatoes I loved with malt! I loved the Notre Dame glass as I'm a big Notre Dame fan. This would be a great place to go especially close to St. Patrick's Day! Definitely will be back!

Go for the music and stay for the drinks! We went on a Saturday night and got seated right away. One of my friends ordered food and enjoyed it. I was there for a night out with live music and Nine Irish served it up! They have many beers on draft and are generous with the cocktails. Also, this place is still crazy affordable. I got a couple rounds of drinks for 3 of us for less than $40. You must know that mini car bombs are a thing! A much needed thing when you're well into your mid 30s. Good vibes. Good music. Good times.

I'm going to start this review out at four stars and hope that I can increase it up to five stars. We were told to wait to be seated via the sign at the front. So we stood there for two or three minutes until somebody came and told us we could sit anywhere we wanted to. That person then took our drink orders and went away and never came back. Our server came over pretty shortly thereafter and asked asked if we wanted anything to drink. We told her we had already ordered water. She took our food order and was very nice. About 5 or 10 minutes later she realized that the other person had not brought our waters. She brought them as I was finally over it and calling the restaurant to find somebody to bring me water. We are currently waiting for food to come. Stay tuned... The hubby says that the Caesar was just a regular caesar. The croutons which he did not eat are leftover rye bread and they are not crunchy. The dressing was really good to dip them in though. I was expecting something magical with a rotisserie baked and then fried wing but I was underwhelmed. They were average. They were not crunchy. The sauce was good. The goat fritters were delicious and they are not kidding in the description when they say rich. I would ask for the raspberry sauce on the side. They were crunchy and really good though. Overall, it was pretty good. It's not a destination I will seek again but if I happen to be over here I would come here again.

Had dinner here last night after seeing Pretty Woman at Old National. The Irish Butt shot is delightful. A bit of a burn followed by sweetness. The corn chowder is thick and very hearty. I had a half order of the Guinness stew. That came with a scoop of mashed on top and it was perfect. Meaty, nice sauce, and the veggies were perfect. As an appetizer I tried the pub chips. The chips were cooked perfectly. The sauce is a honey mustard which I thought could have been better. The atmosphere was great as well. The place was packed by the time I left, but it wasn't overly noisy. Lots of little nooks to sit it.

Food was hot and tasty.. drinks were cold. It feels more like a pub than a restaurant. Service... eh. Nothing amazing. A little slow but we were there right at opening and the only ones there. There is a 4% charge to use a credit card which no one tells you. I think that's strange to make guest pay that

They chose not to honor special of the day.

They had a sign posted offering a drink special and chose not to honor. Waitress stated there were no managers on duty. Cashier is Jason M. Waitress stated it was a previous day's special. She advised just to not tip her. I enjoyed my previous visits to the location in West Lafayette, but this is not acceptable. Good food, good location, everything, but if you can't trust the check is right and they won't fix it, I can only advise that you never come here.

Having a drink in the shade on the patio.. they still have their St. Patty's day decor up lol

Wanted to check this place out and have a drink and bite to eat for lunch since it was such a nice day to be outdoors. Found a seat on the patio under some shade. Had a Hendricks but they didn't have sprite or 7-up so I ordered it with lemonade. Don't recommend that... tasted watered down. My second drink on the other hand was a Bloody Mary and THAT was much much better and tasty! I highly recommend Shepard's pie...delicious! Due to covid-19... only patio seating..

    A fine pour!

Was going to a show on Mass Ave and just wandered trying to decide where to eat. Stopped at NIB and asked the greeter about the menu. This wasn't the hostess so I was impressed how much this gentleman knew about the menu and was willing to answer our questions. I even asked if they do a "good pour" and he knew exactly what I was talking about. I was really interested when I saw mussels and soda bread on the menu. There were actually several legit Irish items on the menu. I did go with the mussels which are in a white cream sauce. I always worry about ordering mussels outside of a seafood restaurant especially in Indy but these were excellent. I was even surprised at the size of the portion which was very filling. The soda bread was 5 nice slices and very tasty. My friend went with a half order of the fish and chips. A good sized portion for a half, well prepared and not fried to death. In regards to the "good pour" I was very pleased. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Would have liked to stay for the live music so will definitely go back.

They had the door open, which was letting in the fresh almost-spring air.) Drinks are pretty much all they have at Snug, to be honest. Don't visit thinking you're going to find a meal, because they don't have a lot of food beyond locally made hand pies and empanadas, a grazing board, and something called Snug Nuts. (Which brings to mind certain ... images.) I didn't get any food, just a Road & Coke, which is a whiskey with a Coke and lime, similar to a Cuba libre, although a Cuba uses rum. It was delicious, but a little light on the booze. It was only $5 and change, though, so it's kind of like what do you expect, really. It was a nice drink to sip slowly while I sat in the small, cozy bar. Speaking of bar aesthetics: Snug lives up to its name. It's tiny and dark but inviting. It feels like stepping into a hug. A hug that can also provide you with copious amounts of Irish whiskey, which sounds like the best kind of hug, to me.

The establishment is old and has dark wood from top to bottom, covered in Irish decor. We sat in a secluded area that honestly felt like we were on a boat. I got a Guiness on draft (because you HAVE to when you're at an Irish bar, right?). It was smooth and frothy. We got the pretzel bites and beer cheese (really good) and fried pickles. I got a french dip sandwich - which was on soft toast which made it really hard to dip in the au juis with fries (which were really cripsy and flavorful). Honestly, I've had better dip sandwiches so I wouldn't get it again however they have a very large menu and lots of Irish favorites. Will go back to the establishment for something else. Street parking- didn't see any private flat lot however there is a parking garage about a block away available. Service was good, no complaints.

Secondly, after we were seated, we waited about 15 minutes before realizing that table service wasn't offered. It would have been helpful if this had been communicated upfront. Third, when we went to the bar to order wings and fries, the wait time was roughly 50 minutes. My food was then handed to the wrong customer, and I had to retrieve it myself. Fortunately, the customer--who appeared to be very intoxicated--recognized the mistake and sat back down. When I finally received my order, it was packaged in a sealed foam container with no ventilation, which caused the steam from the wings to make the fries soggy. Overall, I won't be returning. The lack of basic customer service and attention to proper food handling made this a very disappointing experience.
