We were in Plymouth to visit some friends, and they recommended we meet at Ninety Nine Restaurant because it was comfortable, affordable, and one of a kind place with great food. Oh--and great popcorn! IF you love lobster rolls, and IF you love great flatbread pizzas, then you'll thoroughly enjoy Ninety Nice Restaurant! The flatbread pizzas were ordered as an appetizer, but they could easily have been a meal all by themselves. We had a lobster flatbread and a pork carnitas flatbread, and they lasted all of 5 minutes before we slammed them down. Then our lobster roll came. We ordered the cold sandwich, and it was beyond measure! Instead of filling the roll with clumps of lobster tail, they served us claw and knuckle meat, which makes the roll significantly more enjoyable. I am a regular at the plymouth location and they had retirement gathering. The people we're ignorant and was some of the staff too. A bunch of us were regulars at the bar and everyone was disgusted. I will probably skip my next 4 visits so in the long run the restaurant will maybe break even and insult their regulars, who pay the bills. read more

We love the 99 and their food is consistently good but the service in Plymouth has been horrible recently. We went this afternoon and had one of the worst experience. We waited far too long to be seated when the place was empty. Our server was rude and was bothered when we asked for a kids menu. That attitude continued throughout when we asked for another beverage. She also dropped fries on the floor when delivering our food and although she replaced them, the dropped ones remained all over the floor behind us. Terrible read more

I just got back with four girlfriends from the new Ninety Nine on Rt 114 in Middleton. The Ninety Nine has always been my favorite place, but not today. I had a wonderful, mouth watering cheese burger a couple of weeks ago at the Salem, NH location; and was looking forward to the same. However, I was gravely disappointed. Although I ordered it cooked medium, as I had in NH, it arrived well done and DRY. It was so dry that I was choking on it, in spite of the wonderful pickles and fresh lettuce. I ended up taking the burger out and eating the "veggie" sandwich, as the waitress never came by again until we were finished eating. She never came by to see if the food was ok. She never came by to fill up the water, which was mostly ice. She came back once when my friend asked her to take back the salad, as it had grated cheese all over it, which she had never asked for, nor was she asked. My friend also told me that the cheese tasted "off." She ordered an appetizer and a salad AND WAS SERVED LONG BEFORE WE RECEIVED OUR MEALS. She received her hot appetizer first, and her salad after. The rest of the meals were served sporadically. When the waitress came by after we were finished eating, she inquired about the uneaten burger. I told her that it was overcooked and too dry. She offered to have another one cooked, which at that point would have had me eating alone like my friend did initially. This was my first time there and I loved it. For a franchise resturant it's very good. The French onion soup can use some help. I don't think I would order it again. Not sure why so many people go. Mabe because the price is not nearly expensive as the other restaurants around it. Decent food choices and drinks. Service is good upon arrival but wait time for food takes a long time. Questions such as is the fish farm raised or local caught completely perplexed our server. I have to cut back on the 5 star reviews, but this is the very best 99 in the entire chain. The waitstaff is just superb! Granted it's not often that you compliment the servers on a job well done, but you WILL do that when you visit this 99. The menu is your standard fair, but there is very little frozen food here and you could order the same dish 10 times and it'll be perfect every time. Prime Rib every day for $12.99! The bar is huge and while the drinks are measured they're always good. Occasional draft specials as well. read more

I feel like the 99 has gotten a sort of mediocre reputation because it is generally so reliable as far as value goes... but its a staple in any dining-out repertoire. Yeah, it doesn't blow your hair back and there's nothing sexy or romantic about it, but if you want a good meal for a great price it is a family friendly environment and has a great bar crowd as well. If you go to the 99, be sure to get the cheese and crackers. They aren't on the menu but they are $1 and you get free refills. Been to probably 20 99's...the bar area here is very large so there is pretty much never a wait. Service is pretty good here. read more

Its not a bad place to catch a bite, prices are pretty ordinary. Dont have much of a complaint except that the menu doesnt seem that diverse in different choices and the portions on some of the meals are a bit small for what you could get at chilis or olive garden at the same price. I ordered take out. Sirloin tips and rosemary chicken. There was no silverware, napkins, or rolls in the bag. The steak and chicken were exceptionally salty. The tips were ordered m/r and came out well done. The chicken was rubbery, not the chicken I remember from several years back. Seemed like a lower quality product. I went back to get rolls and utensils and there was no butter offered or provided. I wouldn't even give this food to my dog for fear he would be up all night drinking water due to the over the top salt content. Gross and a huge disappointment. I called and was told I did not need to give her attitude. I was offered a gift card which I did not want. Why would I want to go back? I'm not a glutton for punishment. This one star review is not for all Ninety Nines- just the new one in Amesbury. Went for a simple dinner- and ordered the steak tips with peppers & onions. After the first forkful my throat was on fire. They used hot peppers instead of bell peppers. The item description said nothing about hot peppers or being spicy- plus I have had this before at other Ninety Nines so I know what to expect. It's a health danger not to inform customers of hot peppers in the entree. The manager, Kaelin, took it off our bill of course- but she insisted they were not "hot" peppers. I told her my chef certification says otherwise. She then said she too was a chef- and it seemed to become more about her one-upping me then my throat being on fire. I was super hungry but tired, and my companion had almost finished their meal by this point, but I ordered a caesar salad. Simple. Easy. Right? No. They served it to me without the parmesan curls and they also forgot the croutons- which is the best part. Kaelin came over and said the kitchen needed a talking to, and made the excuse it was extra busy because of the MLK holiday. Well, in the spirit if MLK, I had a dream I could get a decent meal at a restaurant that should know how to handle the "massive" crowds on the MLK holiday. The great thing about chain restaurants is they are supposed to all be the same so you know what to expect from each one no matter where it is in the country. To top off the bad meal- I was charged the $5.99 for the Caesar salad that was missing the parm curls and croutons. That $5.99 was insulting. Oh, the server Megan brought them, but I was almost finished with it by that point. Megan was lovely, helpful- and clearly embarrassed. I certainly don't agree with previous review. Mashpee location is the best in my eyes. Plymouth is the worse as far as bar service. I've been burnt every single time I try to drink and/or eat at the bar. I know this restaurant promotes from within so I guess they had to offer the coveted bartender job to these woman but to the demise of the poor sap sitting at the bar. It consistently takes at least 10 minutes to be acknowledged let alone even get a drink. One of the bartenders, although decent enough person, is so short she can't see both sides of bar at same time. Another one keeps her head down cleaning and never scans bar for new arrivals or those needing refills. And yet the 3rd one just works the service bar. I'm a patient person but I get angry when I'm not at least acknowledged that I'm there. They've said to me (after 10 minutes sitting there wondering if I was invisible) "I'll be right with you". Wouldn't it make sense at that point to just take my drink order since I am by myself? Can't they remember one drink order while doing other duties? It would have made me more content. Since I generally dine alone, I would prefer to sit at the bar but I give up. I always get a table in the DR and service in there is great. My question is, where is the manager? Everyone in the bar is always shaking their heads in disbelief over the poor, poor bar service by these matronly women. Co-workers that visit at different times have said the same thing to me about horrendous service. It should be a kickass bar but management doesn't check on the contentment of guests. After sending an e-mail to Guest Relations via the Ninety Nine website, I received an e-mail the following day offering apologies and a statement that they would be forwarding this incident to all of their upper management. On the same day I received call from the manager of the restaurant where this incident happened. She offered her apologies as well. We accept their apologies, but we are still reeling from this horrific encounter with those three employees. However, I do believe that Ninety Nine is serious about addressing and rectifying this incident. read more

I have to say, the food here is dependably excellent. And as you know, it's a great value too. However, every time I come here, and I've been coming here for over 10 years, I feel like the service is always just "meh". Tonight our server was lovely and friendly. She was just slow as all heck. After serving us our entrees and second drinks she was gone for a solid half hour while we waited with two tired kids who had long since finished their meals and were waiting for their ice cream sandwiches. After being told the wait for a table on a Sat. night was 15 minutes, we patiently waited for about 40 minutes for a table while sitting next to an incredibly obnoxious party of about 10. I complained to the manager about the party and he immediately apologized, found us a table and from there I have never had a better chain restaurant experience. The waitress Erica was amazing. She knew the situation, apologized and comp'd our appetizer. They continually checked to make sure we were happy, had fresh drinks, fresh popcorn and our food came out fast! I have been going to this 99 Restaurant since it opened(my business is located down the street) and probably go to it about 10 times/year for both take-out and dine-in for my employees, family, and friends. It is very good food and very good value, and extremely consistent visit after visit. Burgers are "great" to "very good", as are most of the entrees(Chicken and Sausage Al-Forno is killer, and generous in portion), soups, and even the occasional desert that we order(if not stuffed) is surprisingly good! Appetizers are a bit "Meh" to "good". Yes, occasionally slow service, but that is not the norm; it is usually attentive and courteous. We usually don't sit at the bar, so not aware of the bar issues that a few "bar sitters" have mentioned. All in all, reliably good food at a good price. read more

I visited on Tuesday 8/7 at about 8 PM. I generally found the service to be very good. My flatbread appetizer was doughy and undercooked. I could tell as soon as I saw it, and think the waitress should have as well and not brought it to me that way. Tasting it confirmed what I thought, and it was sent back to be cooked a bit more; it returned hot, crunchy and delicious. For dinner, I had the Mushroom Bleu Top Sirloin... it arrived looking delicious. Unfortunately, none of the three items on the plate were hot. The grilled tomato was warm on the outside but cool inside. The broccoli was cold. The meat was somewhat warm... but not enough to melt the cheese. Generally, a visit to a 99 produces good food at a good value, but for this visit just about everything except the service seemed to miss the mark. read more

I was at the 99 friday eve with my daughther her to friends and their mom. The waiter was either new or just did not have a clue. The girls ordered cheeseburgers bery dry, my daughther had a grilled it tasted awful. I had the chicken djon and was very disappointed. We have been before and had an excellent meal. Someone was off. The waiter also got the order mixed up and brought chicken fingers instead of the grill cheese. We had to wait awhile for her meal. Sorry to say we will not be coming back soon. read more
