This was the perfect salad bar! Such friendly service and absolutely delicious food. Sounds silly, but it really was one of the best salads I've ever had =) highly recommend. Get the salad chopped! So good

Amazing salad right by the waterfront

First, if you haven't been to Mystic - you should check out this quintessential town on the water. We were headed back to NY by ferry and wanted a quick lunch before our trip home. Cue Mystic Salad - fits the bill as being quick and salad = healthy, which makes us happy. We came in and who I believe to be the owner Jed took our order. $10 for a salad with unlimited toppings- quite the deal. My local salad co only lets you pick 4, with croutons counting as one. Bogus. Not at Mystic. You can get double the croutons! Peppers! Cucumbers! Sunflower seeds! Limitless possibilities. You want two types of greens? You got it. I opted for spinach and mescaline greens. There are a plethora of toppings for you to mix into your salad. Protein is an extra $4. Avocado $1.50. I would love a vegetarian friendly protein - maybe falafel, veggie burger or a tofu? That would be my one suggestion. They have so many sals dressings to choose from. I tried the poppy seed one which was good but ended up going for the sesame ginger - really yummy. My husband also got a salad and added chicken to his. Originally we were going to share with our son because the salads are quite large but if you have young kids you know how it is some days. Growing upset and wanting his own salad we were trying to encourage there's enough for the three of us when Jed came to the rescue. He made our kid his own salad portioned down for $3! Jed must have kids of his own, be the funcle (fun uncle$ have the patience of a saint or all of the above. Of course our kid chose like three things for his salad and it was on the smaller side but perfect for him. Jed was so kind and gracious and handled this like a total pro and helped stave off a meltdown from a 6 year old. If I lived in Mystic I'd be here all the time. Grab your salad and watch the boats by the drawbridge on the many available benches on the water as we did, or bring a blanket and picnic in the grass.

Quality ingredients and friendly staff. This a is a great place for some quick food that will leave you feeling healthy and refreshed. Take your food to go and eat by the water. Love this place!

When I looked up salads near me by the shore, this came up, and I'm so happy it did! It's like Chipotle for salads -- walk in, pick your greens, unlimited toppings, add protein and then they'll even chop it up for you! Everything was fresh and delicious. I wish it was closer but I'd definitely come back!

I was visiting Mystic for the day and looking for something quick I could order and eat at the park near the water while we watched the boats go by. This place was great. Very fresh, huge portions, and lots of options available. Extra charge for an added protein, but still very reasonably priced for the size.

Mystic Salad Co is AMAZING!!! We came here for lunch on a weekday & the prices, variety, freshness/quality are unmatched! We got two salads, a soda, and a cup of soup for less than $30!! These salads are huge too! I was able to save some for later :) service was great - they were very patient especially given all the choices you have here! The inside is bright, small, & very clean. Highly recommend Mystic Salad Co & can't wait to be back!

Grilled chicken salad with lots of toppings

These salads were massive! I got mine with the ahi tuna protein, it is fresh ahi tuna not canned tuna. I piled on so many toppings, they really make these salads ginormous I couldn't even finish mine! My husband got a salad with grilled chicken on it and was luckily able to finish the entire salad. This place is a must stop at Mystic. Although they do not have a dining area, they're right next to a park with many benches so on a nice day, you can enjoy watching boaters and people walking by on the boardwalk.

So that means everyone loves Nana's. Which means that, on a very rainy weekend early afternoon, we ended up waiting quite a long time to order and then to get our food but ... I suppose it was worth it (this is high praise coming from someone who almost never believes waiting in a long line is actually worth it). My friend and I split the spicy Caesar kale salad as a starter. I cracked up when I saw "massaged kale" as one of the ingredients. But all jokes aside, this was one of the best kale salads with abundant dressing and, in lieu of croutons, breadcrumbs and cashew parmesan. It tasted pretty indulgent and rich but you can certainly fool yourself into thinking it's actually healthy. I got the tomato sandwich plus bacon (so a BLT without the L) and it was pretty good, though I do wish they cut the bread a little thinner so I could pick it up and eat it as a sandwich. As it were, I just used my knife and fork - certainly more civilized. The pizza was also not bad, though I wish there were some more of the toppings - heard it's leagues better than Mystic Pizza. There are a few tables inside but be prepared to wait. When it was peak rush hour, there were two lines inside, one for the bathroom and one to place an order. Even though they were so slammed, the staff couldn't be friendlier. Our waitress in particular came by often to see how we were doing. Parking lot also filled up. We parked in the Mystic train station and then walked over.

Once I got my items, I went outside to sit on their front porch/patio area with my husband and pup. The blueberry lemonade was really good. Very sweet. It had like bits of blueberry in it as well. And it js MASSIVE. Kind of a steal. The bowtie croissant was SO good. They make sure its filled to the brim with jam. And it was good jam. The croissant itself was fantastic. It was a little thicker to make sure the jam didn't immediately spill out, and that was genuis. I loved it. It was exactly the top of croissant I wanted with jam. The ebbieoche was delicious. Husband loved the cinnamon and sugar. We ate all of it. They had a good amount of pastries and everything was beautiful. I would 100% come back and stand in line.

On our way to Newport from the Bridgeport Ferry we wanted to stop for breakfast / lunch…read more I suggested Mystic Diner. It was packed when we arrived with hardly any parking spaces. We managed to find a spot. Unfortunately when we came out someone had parked behind us in a non spot and blocked us in! That's not the diner's fault, of course, but watch out if you have to park in one of the corner spaces, which are clearly marked. People may pull in behind you. Surprisingly we were seated immediately. I suspect some of the parking was for the art fair across the street! Mystic Diner what you'd picture of a typical diner - but extremely spacious inside and tons of outdoor seating on this beautiful Labor Day weekend. My friend and I split the lamb gyro and salad while our other friend had this amazing stuffed French toast with bananas. The portions were huge and everything was reasonably priced. The service wasn't awful but it wasn't really above and beyond. They were very busy so I understand but our waiter never came to check on us after our food was served. Not a deal breaker. The food was excellent and the menu was very broad, with a lot of Greek options. It was hard to choose what to get. I was happy with the gyro and it was more than enough to share! Overall, I might go back but with so many great options in Mystic, I may want to try someplace else next time. This was pretty comparable to any Long Island diner. If you're visiting a state without a true diner experience and you're in Mystic, this is worth a stop! I'm sort of surprised it only has 3 stars. I'm giving it a solid 4. Easily in the top 5 of best diners in the northeast that I've tried! (Oconee on Long Island would be closer to the top!)

Seated promptly and our server took our drink orders. They had plenty of St. Patrick's Day specials to choose from which included Shepard pie, corned beef sandwiches and various other dishes. We ordered pancakes, blue cheese bacon burger with fries. Very short wait before our meals showed up. Three large pancakes with plenty of butter and a nice bottle of syrup that was on the table. The burger was cooked medium as requested and was large on a nice soft bun with loads of blue cheese and bacon. Lettuce and tomato were on the side which was good because the burger was so big before adding them that you wouldn't be able to get a bite of it. Season of the meat was excellent and this was probably one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. A small container of coleslaw was on the side. Fries were very crispy and stayed that way through the meal. Service was excellent and the seating was very comfortable. Will definitely have return trips there for lunch if we're in the area.
