    I think that's wasabi
    Brandon A.

Cheap frozen fish! My family and friends made a last minute decision to eat sushi. I didn't expect my fish to still be frozen when I bit into it. Talk about an ahi flavored ice pop. The ahi lover's was overall tasty and could use more thawing. The Teri beef was descent for the price and ginger was fresh on the side. The wasabi looked like a green melon pudding so we left that alone. We chose to give 4 stars because the staff was so nice to us while we were eating and when we were leaving. Overall, a comfortable experience as we were the only customers in the restaurant.

This was a slight disappointment, BUT maybe this could be someone's else cup of tea. The place was clean which is a plus. The workers were very helpful, but the younger ones were on their phone the whole time. The rolls were HUGE - so much rice . I personally don't like that. Also you can tell that the fried items were not freshly made. But maybe I just caught them on a bad day. Unfortunately I won't be back but maybe you'll have a better experience than I did (:

Prices went up recently most for nigiri but the rolls are still decently priced. I ordered ikura, natto, garlic hamachi nigiri, and vegetable tempura roll, T dragon roll, and Superman roll. There was a lot of rice in all the rolls. There's actually rice inside the roll with the way they roll it. All the rolls were tasty and I'd definitely get again. Garlic hamachi nigiri was torched and semi rubbery. I wouldn't recommend. I took pictures of the updated menu because online the prices are wrong! I picked up my order and it was more than I anticipated. I hope ninja sushi updates their online menu. There's no description of rolls online or in store but Superman: spicy tuna roll with ahi on top and potato flakes with sauce. T dragon: shrimp tempura with some imitation crab inside and unagi & avocado on top

21 November 2020 My nephew said he wanted sushi because he hasn't had it in forever! My friend is a bit of a foodie so I messaged him and asked, "best, cheap sushi; I'm in Aiea?!?" and he recommended Ninja Sushi. Of course I also checked Yelp for the ratings after his recommendation. The store has informational signs posted on the door before entry: mask before entrance, dining room closed but restaurant open for take-out and delivery. Inside, the employees are also wearing masks and hand sanitizer is available for customer use. The menu is displayed on a large board at the counter. I asked the employee a few questions about menu items and she explained what they were made with. I went with a tiger and rainbow roll. I waited in the restaurant while my sushi was being prepared. One other customer walked in after me and received her order. I think she ordered ahead, that option is also available. It was not a long wait though. It took roughly 7 minutes for both to be done. The employee added soy sauce, wasabi, chopsticks, and napkins to the bag and handed me my order. When we got home, we enjoyed our sushi. It wasn't anything orgasmic but, it was good. My nephew is happy and I would order again from here.

My order snack tuna nigiri, Unagi, shrimp Shumai , 3pcs .

Got a afternoon snack at Ninja sushi it was ok I ordered Unagi , tuna salad nigiri with a side of shrimp shumai. The Tuna Salad had cucumbers in it so I wasn't please about that . The Unagi was ice box cold they at least should have nuc it about 10sec or something lol. I like the Shrimp Shumai the best out of the three that I ordered . Of course the Diet Coke that I had as well . Take out only and social distancing practice here. Although the staff was very friendly. Customer Service - 4 Star Food - 3 Star (average) Support local and stay safe

Tornado Maki - 5/10 (was not a fan of the habanero masago) :(
    Drew C.

SUMMARY (Too Long, Didn't Read): Solid sushi, a little heavy on the rice but overall happy vibes in the restaurant with great ninja decor/murals! No issues with parking! PRO TIPS: 1) be warned about the habanero masago on the tornado sushi!! It was toooo darn smoky! 2) Amex isn't accepted here 3) reasonably priced! FOOD - Tornado maki (5/10) - I know this is also in the pro tips but I can't stress how smoky the WHOLE roll was! I usually love rolls but even when removing the masago I couldn't finish the roll because of the flavor :( it's probably my unrefined taste buds but I did like the other two orders! Egg Maki (8/10) - very well cooked and plentiful portion is why this is rated this highly! Spicy Maki (7.5/10) - nice spice to this! Really enjoyed this roll but again, the rice to fish ratio made the rice a bit overpowering :( (Check out my photos!) ATMOSPHERE - Spacious, sit-down restaurant without outside seating Fun ninja murals which matched the relaxed environment Enjoyable happy staff PARKING - Plentiful, free parking No complaints PRICE - $$, great value! My gf and I were stuffed after this meal!

Thank you Ninja Sushi Westridge for being one of the only places open on Christmas Day! I literally called so many places but they said that they were not going to be on Christmas. I finally came across Ninja and they said they would be open till 3pm that day. I was so happy because I really wanted to bring sushi to our family get together. I ordered a T-platter for pick up at 1pm. However, I called because I was going to be half an hour early and they were so accommodating even though it looked like they had a lot of orders. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick when I went to pick it up. I give them so much props for working so hard for the customers on a day that they deserve to be home celebrating with their family and loved ones. Thank you so much again and I will definitely be back!

It comes with the beef and a couple pieces of shrimp tempura. The two ontama eggs were additional toppings. Let's start with the beef. The beef is similar to eating the beef in sukiyaki. The beef is shredded thin so that you can taste the marinade. They also give you a good portion of beef. It's not filled with rice and a thin layer of meat on top. Quite the opposite. More meat than rice. The shrimp tempura is good. It's not like the shrimp tempura that you would find in a good Japanese restaurant with tentsuyu dipping sauce. It's as good or better than the shrimp tempura you can buy at Marukai or Don Quijote. It comes with the beef sukiyaki drizzle? It's good. The ontama eggs are perfect. Nice and runny when you break the yolk. It just pairs so well with the beef sauce. So yummy. Yelp deleted couple of my photos. I really hate that you can't share all the photos you took with my fellow yelpers. You take the time to review and take photos that I feel should be uploaded. One photo was for a 10% discount for students, military and senior citizens. With the cost of food nowadays, it's good to know that there are restaurants like this one out there willing to give discounts to those who could use it. I appreciate it very much and it needed to be included in my review. The other was for a stamp card. Make 10 purchases of either the rice bowl, curry or udon and get a $5 discount card. This discount helps those who aren't students, military or senior citizens. Thank you for the discounts. We all appreciate them. Tatsuo who was working behind the counter was very friendly and personable. I'm pretty sure he's from Japan because of his accent. The way he treated me felt like he was the owner and very accommodating. I didn't have to go up to get my food. He brought it to me. Very good service. Oh my wife had the shrimp tempura udon. I can't tell you how good it was as i couldn't get to taste it. Sigh. My wife ate it all. I guess it must have been really good. No free samples. Lol. The place was pretty empty so it was quiet when we were there. Couple guys came in to take out. I'm guessing they have more take out than dine In. If you like sukiyaki and shrimp tempura, please give them a try. If you have similar taste buds to mine, you will really enjoy the meal there. Oh and when you go, say hi to Tatsuo. Tell him you heard good things about him on yelp. Enjoy.

We recently dined in with them and we haven't dined with them since pre-COVID so it was a huge shift. They don't have the bowls anymore that they used to, it's in their take out bowls. No complaints about staff. I have tried pretty much everything on the menu and my go to has been mini beef ontama rice bowl w/ Teri sauce or the veggie tempura beef rice bowl. My daughters love their beef udon. It's also a bonus that they're not one of those companies that "charge for the cup" when it comes to water. ^___^

Domo Arigatou, Domo Domo!…read more My task at hand was to find and secure a location to hold a surprise 50th birthday party with a party of 10-12 adults, with tasty and generously portioned Japanese or Korean food, while not breaking the bank. How to do this on Oahu? Lucky for me, my search through Yelp and social media led me to Domo Domo! I contacted the restaurant via email off their website and got a response within 24 hours. After the initial contact, each time I reached out, I received timely responses which really helped make the planning so much easier! I was able to get a private dining room that accommodates up to 12 people, which has a $600 minimum spend to book the room (when you think about it, this isn't too hard to reach with food and drinks for 12!). This worked out perfectly to pull off the surprise as the entire group was hidden from our guest of honor until the door was opened. I had asked my family to order appetizers so they arrived shortly after the guest of honor did... the fried corn ribs, garlic edamame and truffle fries were delicious finger foods to start with! Our friends ordered a round of drinks, and my only regret is not taking photos of the Hazy Moon and Island Mule, which were not only beautiful to look at, but very delicious and refreshing! As our guests ordered their entrees, we ordered some tuna toast to tide everyone over in case the entrees took a while. Surprisingly, the toast arrived just as the entrees started coming, which really didn't take long at all! Entrees ordered included pork loin katsu, wafu steak, platters of galbi served with lettuce to wrap, tempura udon, bulgogi don, grilled octopus, and a 4 piece set of hand rolls. The katsu came with miso soup, and steak and galbi platters came with miso soup and rice to make for very complete meals. The portions were larger than any of us expected and everything tasted soooo good! I checked with management to see if we would be allowed to decorate with small favors and bring in a cake, which they graciously granted us permission. Our server Kingston took absolutely fantastic care of us, even bringing the cake out to sing Happy Birthday and taking it back in to cut into our desired number of slices (12) and then serve the slices to us! In addition, the birthday boy received a complimentary dessert from the restaurant. Located out at the very end of Fort Weaver Road in Ewa Beach, the location was perfect for most of our guests. I wished that I lived closer so that we could come back more frequently, but now that we know Domo Domo is there, we have a new place to visit when in the area. We've already told all our family and friends about them! I had the tonkatsu curry, and as a big curry fan, it's good. Tonkatsu wasn't too oily, meat was juicy, and the curry taste was taste-in. I've also had the poke nachos, shrimp/vegetable tempura, and various bento dishes--always at least solid. Finally, appreciate the servers. Will definitely be back because all other dishes we had were great and service was attentive and efficient! Original review: Service and staff were stellar. But the chicken katsu was one of the worst I've ever had on O'ahu. The chicken katsu was greasy and soaked in old oil that tasted rancid and oxidized, which made the panko a disappointingly saturated mess. The panko was way too browned, and neither flaky or freshly crunchy like katsu should truly be, and was a far cry from the photo in the menu. The poor, fatty chicken quality and the rubbery skin left on the chicken pieces just added to the gristly and chewy nature of the katsu. Charging customers these prices for this kind of subpar quality chicken is absolutely insulting, and we couldn't even finish the dish. It's such a disappointment to write this kind of review, but others need to know what they're getting when they order katsu at Gyotaku.
