Cool place! Great vibe and colorful. The barista was nice and apologized for the wait. I could tell a lot of regulars come here as she greeted them and asked if they wanted their usual. I like that. My husband got a cold brew which he said was really good and I got their Mahbuhay Ube Latte which I found delightful. I totally recommend this place!
Nirvana Soul has never failed me on their spectacular service, great vibes, and excellent food. They constantly support local artists and businesses, and their environment is perfect for anything creative you want to do on your laptop. There are some outlets throughout the floor. Going on a Friday morning, it is fairly quiet. I ordered a matcha latte and chocolate chip waffle. Chocolate chip waffle is something I've wanted to try. After eating the waffle, I would recommend the golden waffle over this. This waffle is too sweet for my liking. The matcha latte has always been consistent whenever I go here. I'm glad to have matcha latte with them in many mornings.
Caffeinate in downtown San Jose at this cultural spotlight, perhaps before or after a show at the theater next door! Nirvana Soul Coffee, squeezed tightly into the hustle and bustle of this South Bay city, hosts a two story shop decorated quaintly with beautiful artwork and humble cafe furniture. This busy spot invites locals to come in and park a while as they're sipping on flavorful coffee drinks and teas and being productive with complimentary WiFi. Seating is plentiful with their tables upstairs. Parking isn't too bad but can be sparse during peak hours. With the steady churn of traffic reflective of the city, it may feel a bit hectic but Nirvana's close to the public parking garages and some street parking (payment required before 6 pm). Once you've gotten situated, check out their menu of drinks and order at the register. After placing the order, head down the hall where they'll put out the drinks for pick up. They have a few flavored drinks in addition to those classic espresso drinks. Furthermore, they have whole beans as well as swag for purchase. Check out the rack to see the freshest offerings. This time around, I ordered the honey lavender latte and it was delicious. The rich boldness from the coffee paired well with the sweetness from the honey and the fragrance from the lavender activated all the senses to keep you salivating for more. Their staff are friendly, patient, and efficient. There weren't too much interactions aside from the order and pick up for me but from what I observed during their interactions with other patrons, they seem to be extremely welcoming. Overall, Nirvana checks all the boxes for a hip coffee shop for the busy professional or student. The coffees are tasty and very palatable. The prices are comparable to other coffee shops and the quality of drinks and service are above average. The atmosphere is comfortable for meetings with friends and work. It gets a bit noisy with the music that's playing and the constant flow of customers, but if those busy sounds help you focus, then you'll find that this spot will be perfect for you! Perhaps, this may be the Nirvana you've been seeking for!
Stopped by Nirvana Soul Coffee in downtown San Jose today and really enjoyed the experience. The space has a lot of personality -- colorful, artsy, community-driven, and the kind of café that feels like more than just a coffee stop. You can tell it has a strong local identity. I ordered the iced honey lavender latte, and it was excellent. Refreshing, well-balanced, and not overly sweet, with a nice floral note from the lavender that made it feel a little different from the usual coffee shop order. I was there during an event, and the café worked surprisingly well for it. There was enough energy to feel lively, but it still felt comfortable enough to sit down, talk, and get some work done. The interior art, bright colors, and overall layout made the place feel creative and memorable. What stood out most to me was the atmosphere. Some coffee shops are functional, but Nirvana Soul feels expressive. It has character, community presence, and a setting that makes you want to stay a little longer. A great local stop for coffee, conversation, and a creative downtown San Jose vibe.
This is my second time trying Nirvana Soul, the first was at a work event in San Francisco and I was so happy to get to visit again at this downtown San Jose location. The cafe is welcoming with art everywhere, the menu has something for everyone and a lot of fun and unique flavor offerings. They also offer pastries. I ordered the white rose latte and my husband ordered the banana chai, both iced. While we were waiting we looked at the art in the cafe and within a few minutes we were on our way. The banana chai is wonderful, I'm not a big banana person but the flavor wasn't overpowering just a good mix of spicy chai with a bright sweetness from the banana (not laffy taffy sweetness or banana smoothie overpowering flavor) I would 100% order one of these in the future for myself. The white rose latte had a much lighter flavor than the chai, but was a great balance of espresso, sweet, and floral. It wasn't too sweet though and I loved how the floral flavor came through. Another great option. So happy we stopped in!
Extremely cute coffee shop located in downtown San Jose. Nirvana Soul definitely brought the vibes with the music and all the artwork. They have a loft area upstairs with a lot of seating so you can get some work done. They offer unique latte options, and I decided to go with the Dirty Banana Chai. It was fantastic, and I will definitely run it back when I am visiting San Jose!
As someone who loves coffee, I'm always looking for new places to try, so I stopped by Nirvana Coffee while I was downtown. I ordered the Mabuhay Ube Latte (espresso, milk, ube, and coconut), and it was such a treat. The flavors were incredibly well balanced--none of them overpowered the others. It had just the right amount of sweetness without being overly sweet, allowing each ingredient to complement the espresso perfectly. The atmosphere was fun, welcoming, and lighthearted, making it a great place to relax. The staff was also genuinely friendly and made the experience even better. I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu!
Im so glad my girlfriend and I found this spot in downtown San Jose! We ended up going with the banana chai and it was incredible. I'm usually a cold coffee person, but this tasted great as a hot drink. This drink is very rich, so if you would like to cut back on the richness, I would recommend it with oat milk instead of regular milk. I also ended up getting a chorizo con queso waffle, which was a waffle with chorizo pieces and cheese inside the waffle. Staff was patient with us and was helpful at explaining the menu. There is also a nice upstairs loft area that is perfect for studying and reading.
Super cute coffee shop with a nice lounging area upstairs. I love the artwork displayed throughout the store as well. The cashier was super nice and friendly and struck up conversation with me! I got the birthday cake iced latte and gave it a good mix but the you can only really taste the flavor in the first couple sips. The rest of the drink just tasted like regular coffee. Gave me a good amount of energy though. Would come back again to try their other cool flavors such as beet coffee!
I really loved the vibes of this coffee shop the second I walked in: warm, welcoming, bright, and inclusive. There's some seating on the first floor near the entrance and an upstairs area as well. We ordered the Dirty Diana (chai, espresso, milk and beet). Very tasty and I'm a sucker for pretty latte art. I love the unique options they have here, with lattes having fun ingredients ranging from beets to turmeric to ube. Yum. The store was also super kind because the barista had made an extra iced caramel latte, and they offered it to us at no charge. We accepted the offer and the latte was delicious and smooth and delightfully sweet from the caramel. We'll definitely be coming back to this coffee shop!
First time trying Nirvana Soul Coffee Purveyors and let me just say, it was delicious! Upon entering you see artwork everywhere. It is very vibrant and colorful. All the walls are filled with artwork. Even the menu is colorful. We ordered a regular iced honey lavender latte with whole milk and a regular iced mabuhay ube latte with oat milk. Both were very tasty. Not strong but also not too sweet. I think it is a perfect mixture of coffee and sweetness. The service was very helpful and the coffee came out pretty fast after ordering. Will be coming back soon. Highly recommend if you are in Downtown and feel like grabbing a coffee. read more

This place is very popular, 9am on a Saturday morning this place was already packed. I came here to study and there was a good amount of seating. I will say the music was set very loud with a lot of bass so it made it hard to concentrate. I honestly would not recommend studying here. I moved from the ground floor to the loft and I could still feel the bass up here and the music was overpowering. Food was good. I ordered the bacon and cheddar waffle but I wish the waffle had more bacon and cheddar. It had the taste of it but as I was eating it I felt the lack of the ingredients. My friend has come here before and she also agreed and stated that previous times that she ate here they definitely had more bacon in the waffle. Over all yummy but could be better. The banana chai was okay- I was very excited for this drink when I looked this placed up online. It was on the sweeter side, and if I were to order again I would ask for less sweetener but the banana chai is a great idea and hope it's better the next time I come. I understand the hype of this place as its very vibe-y but I most likely will not come back to get studying in. Maybe for a hang with a friend, but I would say that the music is still so loud for a productive conversation to happen. read more

Very cute decor inside, especially for XMAS. This location is in downtown so all the parking is metered and may be hard to find street parking. However, there are a few parking garages nearby that gives 90 minutes free parking! 2 drinks caught my eye which was the Dirty Diana and the Mabuhay Ube Latte. I got both drinks HOT although they both have ICED options. The Mabuhay Ube Latte has espresso, milk, ube, and coconut. I opted for the whole milk which I enjoy more than other options like almond, oat, cashew etc! The drink was thick and tasty, you can really taste the ube and I'm wondering if they use real ube because of how thick the drink was. The drink has a good sweetness level yet you can still taste the ube and espresso! I would definitely get the Mabuhay Ube Latte again. However, I was not a fan of the Dirty Diana which has chai, espresso, milk and beet. The drink was way too sweet and I couldn't taste the spices much for a chai drink. They definitely need to use more spices in this chai latte! If I were to get the Dirty Diana again, I would ask for half the sweetness, if that is possible! I would definitely come back for the Mabuhay Ube Latte and I also want to try the Honey Lavender Latte next visit! read more

i'm in this area every year and I like to grab a latte and some baked goods in the morning every day that I am in this area. Their servers are really cool and friendly. Just be aware sometimes they get pretty busy during the day so there might be a slight wait if you're ordering a waffle in addition to your drink. But the drinks come out pretty fast within 10 minutes even when they are pretty busy. The place has a pretty cool vibe and it's a nice coffee shop to chill in or hang out with friends. read more

Just adding to the praise that this local spot has received over the last 5 years. Since then this cafe has established itself as a go-to community meeting spot for a number of reasons, including the stylish yet comfortable ambiance. Their coffee is high quality and the sweets selection is as tasty as it is unique. They also feature yummy fresh juices from a local business owner in front of the register. Staff are always pleasant and service is quick and efficient. There is metered parking down 1st street which can get full on weekends and evenings, so if it's not a weekend I usually have success parking in the surrounding neighborhood. read more
I LOVE coffee; it's my favorite substance on earth. As such, I drink a whole lot of it and have ideas as to what makes it good. I was blown away by the Mabuhuay latte I had here this afternoon- it ranks among the finest lattes I have had anywhere in my life. Interesting, delicious and the perfect temperature. I was walking in DTSJ and saw this place. My bf ordered the ube latte and I ordered a matcha latte. I appreciated how the cashier said that the matcha came unsweetened because some don't mention that. I like matcha sweet and unsweetened but today I got lavender matcha w almond milk. For alternative milk, they have almond, oat, and hazelnut. I asked for soy, but they didn't have that so if you want soy I don't know if they were out just today or they don't carry it. Overall the place was cute and the matcha was good. People were inside working etc and there's lots of seating both inside and out. read more

I visited recently and I'm so happy I did! I ordered the sweet potato pie and the banana chai. The sweet potato pie was delicious, sweet, and had a crunchy, yummy pie crust. The banana chai was really good; had the perfect amount of banana syrup taste and comforting chai flavors. Nirvana Soul catered for one of our company's events and it was a complete hit! They had several unique drinks, but I was surprised that a traditional mocha wasn't on the list of options. Staff were super friendly, and really helpful as my daughter has dairy allergy. Super cute definitely meets the name amazing mural done by local artist. The spinach tomato quiche was amazing and flaky custard was delicious. My daughter had strawberry maple oatmeal was perfect not too sweet it's vegan and nut free. I got a dirt banana chi was awesome. Chai was spicy not too much banana and coffee was smooth not burnt at all which is hard to find at a lot of coffee shops. I've come here a few times being that I work downtown often. Drinks are decent and the aesthetic is definitely there. My only thing is if you're going there to try and study, work on homework, or go on a zoom call, they blast the music way too loud. Yes, the music taste is present but there's been a number of occurrences where the music is blaring it makes it really hard to even just order my drink. read more

Love the vibes, love the ample plant options with fun tea and latte options to try. I got the Golden Child chai latte with the barista recommended macadamia nut milk and it was the cozy hug of a drink I needed today. It's 50% off waffles on Wednesdays so of course I got one, the churro waffle. Next time I come by I think I'll try one of the iced lattes. This place was popping (line out the door) when I went in, so I knew it must be great. Some menu items looked intriguing to me such as the celebration latte and dirty diana. I asked a friendly stranger for what he had ordered. It was a large mabuhay ube latte with macadamia nut milk. I overheard the people in front of me also ordering that same drink, so I knew I had to try it. Did not disappoint! Sunday hours end early afternoon which is a little bit of a bummer. Ambiance is relaxing. Normally I get the mocha. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I heard the story of how they opened the business. I'm more than happy to support the mission. The waffles are so good. There's so much art around the store also. I'll definitely be visiting the new location at the MLK library soon. Wow! Came for a better coffee than what was served in the hotel and this coffee did NOT disappoint. I felt so welcomed the moment I walked in. I ordered the celebration latte and it exceeded all expectations. Nothing is mediocre about this coffee or shop. The guy making the coffee made conversation and thanked me for coming in. Finally got to try this place and it was sooooo good. The inside has a good amount of seating and the artwork around the store is amazing. The workers are friendly and quick at serving your order as well. The drinks: - Mabuhay ube latte was delicious! Super smooth with a good kick from their espresso. -Matcha tea latte was really good as well The food: -bacon cheddar waffle: this is the MUST GET. it was so goooood. This coffee shop was sooo cute!! I kept hearing about it and seeing photos but never got around to going, but I was in the area before with a friend and we decided to come here for a drink. We got the hot celebration latte (decaf) and iced ube latte - both soo good, yummy flavors, and the service was amazing!! Staff were so sweet and friendly. Flavor will be there but you’ll lose some crispiness. Best to reheat in an air fryer. Also keep the box fully open when you get it so that it can cool down without steaming to help it stay crispy. Hope this helps!

Hi there! The city parking lots are free for the first 90 minutes. The closest one to us is on 2nd & San Carlos. Otherwise, metered parking on the streets, but it can be tough. Hope this helps!
