Folks try out the English toffee, it's some creamy goodness with caramel and it's an absolute gem! I'd definitely come back just to have a scoop of this again. They also have a nice variety of flavors, particularly Indian flavors that you won't find elsewhere. They all have the same creamy texture if you're into that. -1 star for finding a piece of pink plastic in the icecream, but other than that if I were to rate the English toffee icecream on its own it would be a 5/5 read more

If this is a Desi answer to the various frozen yogurt places, then it is successful I would say. I was browsing through various Sunnyvale Desi joints I could try during our recent trip and noticed "Paan Ice cream" on their menu. So, I bookmarked it then and checked it off last week during our visit. I got a 2 scoop Paan Ice cream and Alfonso Mango. Total was $6.51. Pros: Happening place. Lots of people. Seeing something like Sitafal ice cream gives you immense joy just for the simple fact that you never see names like these at other stores. Unique (+1) Cons: Paan ice cream tasted more Somph (Fennel Seed) than Paan. It could be because it has been so many years since I have last eaten a Paan that I forgot what it us supposed to taste like. (-1) Mrs. tried their Sitafal sample, but did not like it. Stopped by for a quick sweet filler (for my stomach) and I would say the experience was fairly wonderful. I went for something called Baadshahi Falooda (as I wanted to have something with vermicelli), and I would rate that Baadshahi Falooda a 4/5. It was well prepared, had a host of things: Vermicelli, Milk, Ice Cream, and Chia seeds - and it did not cost a bomb (something like 6 odd dollars). Plus, it tasted wonderful. This outlet is in a fine market place with a number of good options (Indian Grocery Store, am wonderful Thai restaurant), and there was no parking challenge. The one area where I feel they could improve is - having a mechanism to slightly speed things up. But it is totally fine - at any restaurant/coffee shop we go to - there is a considerable amount of time customers take in placing their order. So the lychee ice cream has a great taste and very fresh. Excellent. We then tried the falooda kulfi. Very good too. The service was fast as the place was empty. The funny thing was they over charged me and when I asked they had 6 people have to figure out what happened. We ordered a 8" round birthday ice cream cake yesterday and when reached there to pick up, It was small round 6" cake. Asked the cashier that if they have mistakenly made 6" cake instead. but they replied no , its an 8" cake . Took it home but still doubtful , measured the diameter with the ruler and infect it was 6" cake. I was really disappointed with this kind of service and called back to the shop , but they repeatedly kept saying that we do not make 6" cake any more , so it is 8" cake only. I told to send the picture I took of the cake , but she kept arguing . I asked for the owner and called her next day and was expecting some better behavior and apology but she argued the same way and the response I got from her was ,that next time see the mold before you order, and she hung up the phone. 2 years back for the same occasion I had a very positive experience with the bakery and that's why thought to use it again this time. Yum! Desi ice cream really hits the spot. Came here to try this place out and ordered the falooda kulfi. The falooda was super sweet and gave my mom a sugar rush, so definitely don't consume it too quickly. We shared the falooda between the two of us because it's a lot. Minus two stars because the lady at the counter seemed unhappy to be there and was pushing everyone to pay in cash or was trying to upsell their products. We ordered the traditional kulfi, the falooda kulfi, and a sundae. First thing I'll say, which everyone else is saying: the service is pretty terrible. No samples, and they had a jar of spoons which is quite unsanitary. The lady was pretty rude. Second, the ice cream is pretty expensive for the portion. Third, the ice cream itself was not great. There were tons of flavors to choose from including custard apple, mango kulfi, cardamom, pistachio, saffron, and other more common flavors like vanilla, strawberry, etc. To be honest I sampled three ice cream flavors and they all tasted similar to me. I really wanted to like this place but I thought their ice cream was just okay! The flavors are interesting and being the indecisive person I am, I ended up trying half the menu. The person helping me didn't mind at all and didn't rush me in any way, so I didn't feel as pressured to make a decision, but I felt bad taking so long so I was pressured anyway. Haha. Good thing they weren't busy! Haha. Although the lady helping me was nice, both of the employees at the time were very emotionless. They didn't look happy to be serving anyone but they weren't rude about it either, I'm not quite sure how to describe it but I expect more enthusiasm at an ice cream shop! I think the flavor I ended up getting was Mitha Pan...but I don't think I chose the right flavor for myself. It had overwhelming flavors. I didn't like the seeds and leaf in it. When I tried the sample, there were no seeds in the scoop, so if I had known, I wouldn't have chosen it. So I'm not basing my review on that because I should have taken more time to decide, but more on the texture of the ice cream. It melted way too fast and it wasn't creamy enough in my opinion. The scoops are average and the prices are a bit high. My friends seemed to enjoy their ice creams though! So I probably just chose the wrong flavor. I'd consider coming back if I was in the area. ALSO, not a huge deal since it's just pennies...but they ran out of pennies and instead of reimbursing me more like most businesses would have, she told me she had no more pennies and if that's okay. Nirvanaah is one of the best places for kulfi (Indian ice cream) in the Bay Area. They excel at having a wide range of good quality Indian ice cream flavors that are creamy, flavorful, and just simply bliss. They also let you try the flavors beforehand which is good because some of the flavors are not in English. Some of the flavors that they have are saffron, pistachio, rose, thandai, paan, halwasan, mango, tutti frutti, etc. They have flavors that are not Indian as well for those that find the spices too strong (black currant, toffee, Ferraro rocher, etc). My favorite flavor that I always come in for is the halwasan. It is AMAZING and fills your palette with spices, cream, and different textures. The flavor is very hard to describe (especially in English) but is almost like eating burfi with hints of cardamom. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because it can get pretty expensive. A small cup of falooda is over five dollars and not worth such a high price. Anyways, I HIGHLY recommend this place for Indian ice cream. Go in and try their flavors ASAP. Went last night and tried the kulfi falooda dessert! We replaced the ice cream with the malai kulfi one instead of the traditional one they use. The flavours are good and they put just the right amount of syrups so it's not too sweet. The only place in south bay area to get an indian ice-cream. They have really good falooda and kulfis and a good variety of ice-creams flavors like Sitaphal, mango, raj bhog, badam, kesar, pista, chikoo, etc. I usually have a hard time selecting since they have so many options :) Only thing that I don't like about this place is that this place closes around 10:30 pm even during summers. I think they should keep it open till late especially in summers since it will be easier to try various flavors frequently :) The place gets crowded after 9:30 pm but it is pretty quick to get an ice-cream even during peak times. read more

Paan is an Indian breath mint made from a betel leaf,it also has digestive properties and is generally made to order.It's served after meals and is widely popular in India. Now i haven't had a Paan in a really long time.Last i had a Paan shot at a restaurant in Vegas. My experience at Nirvanaah was really bad. The moment you enter the store you could smell rotten milk Oder lurking inside and the AC wasn't functioning. Second of all we all know it's COVID and they said there is no tasting of ice cream in the store. So I ordered one Cassata ice cream and asked the lady in a polite manner that i know there is no tasting in the store but I wanted to try the mango ice cream. So would you mind just adding a little tasting spoon in the pate of the cassata which will be served to me and I shall go out and try it and if I like it I would get it. She nodded and I assumed she complied with my request. But she just gave me my cassata and said loudly no tasting and I asked her if I buy the mango ice-cream would she refund me the money if I didn't like it and she said no. On top of serving me she yelled at an old customer who started enjoying his ice cream in the store " No eating ice cream in the store" which embarrassed the old man. Let's get on my Cassata Ice cream, it was freezer burned all the way around. The cake at the end of it tasted like stale biscuits and the rest of the flavor of ice cream were just freezer burnt with little to no taste. I wouldn't recommend this place to any other customer. Overall if you are a fan of Indian ice cream and you really crave for it go to some other places.
