Got Alphonso mango, lychee, kesar pista. Everything tastes super real and fresh. No artificial bs. They loaded the portions too. Will def be a regular now. The sea salt caramel tastes so real too!! Prob my fav ice cream spot in South Bay now.

I read about this place in the news recently - that 2 moms had taken over and the plans they had to expand etc. I am not a big ice cream fan and was not planning to check it out but it was a hot night in March and we decided to check it out. We arrived around 8pm on a Saturday and the place was not packed but there were plenty of people inside. It is located in a strip mall along El Camino in Sunnyvale and had plenty of parking because the other business close in the evening. There is ample seating inside and out. We stood in line for less than 5 minutes before we were served. I was excited once I got there because this place serves ice cream flavors that I grew up eating in India, these are not traditional flavors you will get but very ethnic. They have a sign that says that you can only try 2 flavors when it is crowded and I tried the meetha pan and gulab jamun. We ended up ordering the sithaphal, alphanso mango and chocolate. We also got gummi bears for the topping which we were served in a separate cup. The menu includes other desserts like cakes, custards, drinks and pints of ice cream in various flavors ready to go. You can get your ice cream in a cup or a cone, they also have a flight of 4 cups of ice cream for $14.99. The prices are reasonable with a cup starting at $5.99 a scoop I was disappointed once I tried the ice cream, sithaphal is my all time favorite fruit and the ice cream had plenty of fruit in it but it was too sweet. None of us finished our cups. Plus, the gummi bears were so difficult to chew that we ended up tossing them. There are so may flavors that I want to try and even though the first trip was a bit disappointing, I definitely want to give this place another try!

If you are looking for unique Indian flavored ice cream, you will enjoy this place! My favorite flavors are paan, Ceylon masala chai, mango and chili lime guava. Some of my friends enjoyed the sitafel and chickoo flavors. Great hangout place - you can buy it for your home too.

Sunnyvale has much to offer, don't bypass this gem. Such unique flavor choices, I don't remember seeing boring vanilla, chocolate, etc. Galub Jamun is one of my favorite desserts and it works fairly well as an ice cream flavor. Maybe a touch too sweet. But the winner of the afternoon (and the favorite of the clerk) was a coconut-based Mango. Friendly service and easy parking.

Omg, pints of joy was such a pleasant surprise with their flavor offerings. They have a huge myriad of flavors from gulabjamun to chiku to custard apple and lots of decadent chocolate flavors too. We were too excited to try the multiple flavors so we decided to try the flight with 4 flavors, namely, chocolate orange, custard apple, gulabjamun and chiku. The dark chocolate orange flavor was a standout for me. It was the perfect blend of decadence and citrus, the chiku and gulabjamun were great too. The custard apple was a bit mild as we could barely taste the custard apple. They also have great sundaes but we didn't try them this time. Overall the ambience is simple with about 5-6 tables. Their service was fast but we need to collect the order ourselves from the counter.

This place is absolutely the best if you are craving for some Indian flavor ice cream . They offer very unusual varieties like gulkand coconut , green mango sherbet , jalebi Sunday etc which is great . I also saw some ice cream cakes . They have regular flavors too if that's your preference. I took Gulab Jamun and gulkand coconut flavors . Both were awesome. It's a very lively place with beautiful decor inside. Ample of parking and the service was fast although it was crowded when I visited ( around 6 pm on a weekend) . There have some sitting inside as well as outside or you can get a take out as well . They offer scoops as well as pints . Highly recommended.

Ice cream flight: pistachio kulfi, falooda, mango, lychee

In order of my favorites that I would get again: 1. Jackfruit- like eating a fresh sweet jackfruit with small bits of jackfruit in the ice cream 2. Mango- like eating a fresh sweet and juicy mango 3. Pistachio kulfi- I think this has saffron in it I would skip these in the future: 4. Falooda- it's good but would opt for a different flavor in the future. 5. Chikoo- I've had this fruit fresh before and feel it could've been better. The texture seemed too grainy and off putting 6. Chilli lime guava- instant no. I was hoping for more of a guava flavor and it tasted too much like tajin. 7. Chocolate orange- also an instant no. I'm not a chocolate orange gal but the sample was given by mistake so I tasted it anyway.

Went for a quick stop in the winters and it was worth it! It's a lit up store and the vibe is just awesome. Crowded with people lining up to try various flavors along with some Indian flavors as well. They have steel spoons for tasting - super awesome right? No wastage. Super thoughtful. That's a sign of a women owned business My favorite- the alfonso flavor (5/5), tender coconut was another friend's favorite. The spicy guava flavor wasn't spicy enough (chilli lime guava) - but worth trying (3/5). The custard apple flavor was good too - but a little too sweet for my taste. Please skip the chai flavor - unless you're a chai lover and you have to try. I had my eyes on the cassata and the chikoo, malai kulfi and falooda flavors. Somethings are for next time! We got a flight of ice-creams and 6 of us enjoyed sharing it. Loads of parking available. And they have places to sit inside and outside. Also, wheelchair accessible.

Delicious food isn't just about tasting good -- it has the power to transport you to another time and place. But experiences like that are often rare and hard to come by. This ice cream shop truly delivers. With just one bite of the custard apple flavor, I was instantly taken back to Taiwan, back to my childhood, sitting with my grandmother and enjoying a refreshingly cold custard apple together. As for the chili lime guava flavor, it tastes just like fresh guava sprinkled with plum powder -- deeply familiar and surprisingly moving. Split scoop: $8.50 for two flavors Pints of ready-made flavors: $15.50

Another great ice cream spot in Sunnyvale. I was surprised to see how crowded it was on a Sunday evening. I tried the dark chocolate with orange, chikoo, gulab jamun, and sitaphal (custard apple). I absolutely loved the dark chocolate and orange combination--the chocolate was rich, and the mild citrus notes from the orange balanced it perfectly. A must-try flavor here. Gulab jamun was my second favorite. It had tiny pieces of gulab jamun mixed into a vanilla base, though it might be a bit too sweet for some. The chikoo flavor tasted very natural, like a sweeter version of the actual fruit, really creamy and flavorful. I'm not a big fan of sitaphal in general, so I ranked it fourth, but the flavor itself was great and very true to the fruit.

This is a long overdue review.. Pints of joy has been a treat, especially on days I've been missing flavors of home. I especially like their Falooda and jackfruit (how incredible to find jackfruit here!). This sampler was great way to try a bunch of flavors. Over the years, my friends/family from out of town have come to enjoy the ice cream here. The space is small, clean and there plenty of seating inside and outside. Service is friendly and fast. Despite being on a busy stretch of el Camino, there's plenty of parking in the lot.

Super cool unique cultural flavors that I wish I could've enjoyed more but was just not for me. Super set apart from other ice creams though so mad respect. Thanks to the worker that let me sample all the cool flavors. Kulfi one was good though.

Lots of Indian-inspired ice cream flavors here. I got the Falooda one, which tasted like lychee and rose infused together. Super delicious! There was a long line when I got there, and I waited for ~20 mins to order. They only let you sample 2 flavors if it's busy. Overall, would come back again to try other flavors when line is not long

Nostalgic flavors from my childhood in a gelato format? :)…read more I came to Marco Polo on a Friday evening and ordered two small cups for my partner and I. This is my third time at Marco Polo and it really hit the spot. The location is in Vietnam Town, on the far right side, next to Pho 90. When I went this time around, there was no lines but there were still people sitting in the store eating their desserts. Parking here can get tough because of the plaza itself so just a heads up to folks who do not frequent the area. What makes Marco Polo so special is their Asian gelato flavors that you cannot really get anywhere else (that to say a lot of places are now expanding their selections). This was the first spot where I could finally get my hands on durian gelato and it was absolutely delicious. The store itself has around 3 tables for you to sit in and is pretty bare boned. It is good for a grab and go but with the limited seating inside and outside you could spend some time here. Service is quick and you are able to try out some samples. This time around I ordered black sesame and Pandan, while my partner got mango and lychee. It was near close so they ran out of mangosteen unfortunately when I went. While the flavors were great, stood out, and were bold, I will say texturally it was a bit icey for my liking but that might have been because they started crystallizing from being out for a while. Overall, this is a small business I will continue to support!

Somisomi is a dessert shop that focuses on the combination of freshly made taiyaki and soft serve,…read morecreating a dessert experience that feels both nostalgic and modern. We walked into a casual, easygoing space where the concept is simple but works well: warm fish-shaped waffle cones filled with different flavors paired with creamy soft serve and toppings. The setup is straightforward and the atmosphere stays relaxed, making it a fun stop for a quick dessert rather than a place you would spend a long time sitting. The taiyaki is the main highlight and gives the desserts their signature appeal. The outside has a light crispness while the inside stays soft, creating a nice contrast with the cold soft serve. The fillings offer a good mix of classic and creative options, with red bean, custard, black sesame, and Nutella being some of the popular choices. We tried the red bean, which keeps things traditional with a mild sweetness, and the black sesame, which adds a nuttier flavor that pairs especially well with the waffle texture. Nutella works well if you prefer something richer and more dessert-like, with the warm pastry melting slightly against the chocolate spread. The soft serve is what brings everything together, with flavors like matcha and ube standing out. The matcha has a noticeable tea flavor without becoming too intense, and the ube adds a sweeter, more dessert-focused option that complements the warm pastry nicely. Adding toppings like cookies or cereal gives the dessert extra texture and makes each order feel more customizable. The combination of warm taiyaki, cold soft serve, and different fillings is what makes Somisomi different from a typical ice cream stop, with the temperature contrast and variety of textures keeping each bite interesting. Service is usually quick, which fits the style of the shop since most people come in for a treat on the go. The staff handles the steady flow efficiently, and the turnover moves at a pace that keeps the line from backing up. The menu is straightforward, but there are enough combinations to make repeat visits interesting, with the rotating soft serve flavors and filling options giving you room to try something new each time. Somisomi is a fun dessert spot that does a great job with a simple concept, especially if you enjoy Asian-inspired desserts and want something that balances warm, crispy, creamy, and sweet in one order. The quality of the taiyaki and the balance of flavors make it a worthwhile stop when you are in the mood for something a little different from the usual ice cream or pastry run.
