Miso Ramen & Nishikawa Black Ramen w/ Gyoza
    Alyssa A.

Good for a quick fix, typical pricing for ramen. The Nishikawa Black was the better tasting one with garlic oil and straight noodles. I got the Spicy Miso, which came with curved egg noodles. Dumplings were nothing to write about. Wish there was more YUM to the broths, love a good lingering flavor after every sip. The Black was too oily but the Miso was light enough.

Nishikawa Ramen is a small little ramen shop decorated with anime posters from Naruto, One Piece, and Dragon Ball. There were also cute little trinkets of My Neighbor Totoro. Upon entering, we were free to seat ourselves and chose a booth by the wall. It was not busy at all and the service was quick and friendly. We started off with a large sake bomb paired with a Kirin Light ($15). We then ordered two Tonkotsu Ramens, one medium spice and one hot spice ($15.99 each). Honestly, the hot spice level did not taste spicy at all, so I would recommend going extra hot if you like spice. They also provide chili powder on the table if you want to add more spice yourself. The ramen broth itself could have used a tad more flavor. I lightly added some soy sauce to the broth which is something I often do to add a little kick. I loved all of the toppings included, from the green onions to the kikurage (wood ear mushroom). My favorite part was the pork chashu, which was really tender and delicious. I also appreciated that the ramen came with a full soft boiled egg rather than half an egg, and the egg was perfectly runny. Before leaving, we ordered their tea special that was buy one get one. We got a matcha milk tea and a cafe latte which I forgot to take a photo of. I felt like the cafe latte could have used a little more sweetness to balance it. Also, I found it neat that Nishikawa offers a rewards program, not something I see often at ramen shops. My true rating would be 4.5 due to some of the criticisms I mentioned above, but overall I still had a good experience. Thank you for serving us. Visited 5/2/26

No frills, just ramen, appetizers, specialty teas, desserts. I love their traditional pork-based ramen. Hearty and boiling hot bowls of ramen, with green onions, seasoned egg, chashu. Side of takoyaki or pork gyoza. Service is fast and friendly. Especially since I went after the lunch rush. Very casual with limited seating. Tasty and filling and doesn't hurt your wallet compared to most others serving ramen.

We had the curry ramen and Nishikawa black. I prefer the nishikawa black over the curry. Some bites did have a very strong garlic kick. The curry felt a bit grainy from the spices? And was a bit salty also. Nishikawa black tasted great the next day too as we had leftovers !

Nishikawa Ramen in Phoenix is definitely worth a visit. The vibe is great, quick, to the point with great ramen options. I ordered the Pork Miso, and it was absolutely delicious, rich, flavorful, and really comforting. The service was quick and friendly, and even though I dined inside, everything came out fast and the staff was great the entire time. My husband got the Tonkatsu which was equally delicious. I got mild and he got medium and as someone who can't handle much spice, I probably could have leveled up to the medium spice level. The dine-in experience was solid, but based on how well everything was prepared, I can imagine their takeout would be just as good. If you're craving ramen in Phoenix, this spot is an easy recommendation.

Nishikawa Ramen, for us, was a pleasantly surprising find, but with some minor misses. Our order: - Tonkatsu Ramen - Nishikawa Black Ramen - Chashu Rice Bowl - Tacoyaki The star of our order was easily the Tonkatsu Ramen. That broth was spectacular. It had a nice velvety and flavor feel and taste. It went very well with the ingredients and was my favorite. The Nishikawa Black was good, you could taste the black garlic. The Chashu rice bowl was different--deep fried pork belly is not what you'd typically expect from a rice dish like this. The Tacoyaki was fine, but maybe used too much oil as some of the Tacoyaki was crispy at the bottom. Service was very engaging and helpful. Open parking lot outside. We had a very good meal :).

Quick service, delicious ramen only wish they would add more ramen. I would recommend they add kimchi broth if possible, as I would have preferred this over the pork broth which doesn't have the depth of flavor.

This place is one of my faves for a casual good bowl of ramen. The Nishikawa Black is my go-to because of the black garlic oil. Makes the rich broth even more flavorful. The noodles and pork are solid, no complaints. I also order the Beef Bowl sometimes which is like gyudon. My last visit here though, I was overwhelmed with the teriyaki sauce because there was too much and it was too salty. I also couldn't remember if it the beef bowl always came with sauce? Next time I will be ordering it without.

I brought my Fiance in here for dinner after picking her up from the airport. I was thoroughly impressed with their Ramen. Their flavors were delicious and authentic in both bowls we had ordered. I had ordered mild heat and for once I agreed with the heat which is hard to do sometimes at these ramen spots. We ordered the gyoza and chicken appetizers and both were delicious and fresh. We had ordered Takoyaki and it was inedible. It tasted old and like it had been refried. It was chewy, fishy and not good so they took it off my bill when I had mentioned it... I think. I did deduct a star for that, but me giving 4 stars for a Ramen restaurant in Arizona is a feat in itself as I have been in some of the best Ramen places in Southern California. The inside is small and quaint so I would definitely call ahead before you have to wait. I will come back and try more items when I'm in the mood for Ramen. Keep up the good work!

We were running errands in the area and decided to stop by for a quick lunch. On this visit, we decided to share the pork gyoza and curry ramen with bean sprouts and pork chashu. The pork gyoza was good, it had the right amount of crisp to it, had flavorful filling and the skin wasn't too thick. The curry ramen was hearty and very filling, the flavor of the broth wasn't too strong but still had a nice kick to it. Overall, the service was fast and efficient. With the ambiance being very casual and low-key. This is a solid spot if you're looking for a quick, hearty meal that offers generous portions for the price in the area.

Like come on dude this is too small for $4.49

Cute cozy shop with really great ramen! Well priced too. Only issue is I ordered their matcha cheesecake for $4.49 and it's TINY. And the cheesecake has the most vague taste of matcha.

My dad was craving ramen while we were in Phoenix and after searching a bunch of different menus, this place spoke to him. He got the miso ramen with medium spice and hard boiled egg and he loved it! He said that it has so much flavor and definitely hit the spot. They had a good lunch special where he got the ramen, gyoza, and a drink for $17.95. The gyoza was great and so was the ika geso. I got the katsu bowl and it was ok but I kinda regretted not getting ramen also. I'm gonna try this place again and get one of their ramen dishes. Parking was easy with a private lot shared with other businesses. Service was great. It wasn't too busy since we went for lunch a little later than usual but the waitress was working solo and was able to keep up with all the tables. She also made recommendations that would be more cost effective...I love that! Will definitely be back!

I'm not sure if this is the absolute best ramen we've had but this is a nice place to stop for a quick and still really tasty ramen. It's a little smaller inside so sometimes there's a little wait but I think it's worth it! The broth is delicious and the food always comes out quickly. The service is amazing as well and the employees are so kind!

Nishikawa Black with extra fried onions and black garlic oil....delicious!

They offer two noodle options, both are not gluten free and made from wheat flour

    Are there any vegan options?

No there are not any vegan options on the menu. The closest you could get would be buy some rice and some veggies but idk if they would do that or not

Definitely a vibe for anime lovers! Food-wise, we started with the gyoza and they were delicious. Perfectly cooked and even better dipped in the ponzu sauce! We also tried the sushi flight, which was a great way to sample a few different flavors. Overall, I really enjoyed it, although the eel was probably my least favorite of the flight just personal preference. The crispy tuna rice was easily the star of the meal! Crispy, flavorful, and the textures worked so well together. I would 100% order that again. The ramen, however, was just okay for me. It wasn't bad or inedible, but the broth was lacking that rich, deep flavor I look for in a good bowl of ramen. A little more depth and seasoning would really take it to the next level. The service was honestly one of the highlights. Our waiter was super friendly, cool, and attentive without hovering, which I always appreciate. Overall, there were definitely more hits than misses. The great service, fun atmosphere, and crispy tuna rice are enough for me to give Full Moon Izakaya another try. Next time, I'll be exploring more of the menu!

I've served in restaurants for 20 years, at elite places such as, Hillstone along with Chelsea's Kitchen and Buck and Rider, and I am appalled by the behavior of the staff tonight. And as a paying customer, enjoying a meal with a friend, I am very disturbed that they would kick us out before closing time. This lady walks around and says "closed, closed" and starts turning off all the lights. I said "Oh the website says you close at 10pm" and the lady with the top knot bun and glasses said "yeah, but no one is in here so we are closed." Ummm we were in there. Poor hospitality on their part. Not worth it. Go somewhere else. Sushi Michi on 16th st & Bethany, or Full Moon Izakaya Sushi and Ramen, is way better and they don't close earlier because they didn't have any walkins at the point, nor do they kick people out before closing time. Also when we left a car had just pulled up to grab dinner. Turning away customers is poor ethics on behalf of Cherry Blossom. No wonder no one goes here and everything is so out dated. ALSO I had asked for a wine sample to decide which wine I wanted and our waitress said "we don't do samples". Okay well every other restaurant I've been to and worked at has samples. We were a party of 12 visiting on vacation, and none of us are from the area. We ordered spam musubi and a chicken skewer as appetizers. Both appetizers arrived well after our entrees had already been served and we had essentially finished eating. Each time we asked about them, we were repeatedly told, "They're coming." Mind you, these are simple appetizers that should not take anywhere near that long to prepare. When we asked for the third time, we finally asked that the appetizers be cancelled since we had already finished our meal. At that point, the gentleman working the front area , tall, with red hair, loudly yelled from across the restaurant, in an extremely rude and confrontational tone, "It's already on the grill!" There was absolutely no reason to speak to paying customers that way. His response was unprofessional, unnecessary, and honestly created a very hostile and uncomfortable feeling during what should have been an enjoyable dinner, especially while our group was on vacation and simply trying to enjoy a meal together. When the appetizers eventually came out, we left them sitting there because we were already done eating and ended up taking them to go. He eventually told us they would be removed from the bill, which we appreciated, but that did not excuse the way the situation was handled. Again, the food was good, but good food does not make up for poor service and especially not for an employee speaking to customers in an aggressive and disrespectful manner. Management should seriously address how customers are treated, because the interaction with this particular employee overshadowed what could have otherwise been a good dining experience for our party of 12.
