We called this company because we had once again a clogged kitchen sink. When the plumber came he…read moreexplained that we had a bigger issue with our pipe and need it to be changed. We asked for him to provide us a quote to have the pipe fixed- he said we would , but in the meantime we could unclogged our kitchen sink for $289. We told him we wanted to actually fix the root of the problem and not spend $289 to then have to changed the entire pipe and more the following week- We proceed it to tell us that we drove all the way down to our home and he was expecting to make $289. I understand the value of time, but the actual work we need it ended up being $1200 + which we would have done with him if he didn't try to guilt trip us into spending money on something we could have waited a day or 2 . The plumber left pissed off , I still asked him to send me the estimate to do the work he recommended and he NEVER DID. That's why we had to call another company. This was the most uncomfortable feeling. Seemed like we just wanted to make quick money and not interested in the bigger job and tried to pressure us into spending money unclogging a pipe that 2 days later was completely replaced along with our main.

They busted our pipe using a snake and wanted to charge us full price to come fix the pipe…read more We called them before to snake our kitchen drain. We heard a loud bang/ crack, and when my fiancé asked what it was, he said everything was fine. I noticed water trickling in our basement storm door later on, but it was also raining on and off that week, so I thought that might be the cause. I observed for a couple of days and it was definitely coming from our kitchen sink because it was soapy water. I called them and the guy was extremely rude, didn't want to admit they damaged anything, and not willing to work on a solution. Poor customer service.

I had a leaking toilet emergency in Jersey City this morning and called Roto-Rooter because I was…read morecompletely out of my depth and needed professional help. I explained multiple times that I'm a renter, that I was panicking a bit, and that I genuinely did not know what to do. Instead of helping, the woman on the phone told me they wouldn't be able to assist because I'm a renter and because my building has maintenance/property management. She even incorrectly told me "that's what your lease says," which was not true. My property manager had already told me I could handle the repair and deduct the cost from rent. What frustrates me most is what happened next: I called Dr. Drip Plumbing & Heating, and the VERY FIRST thing they did was calmly explain how to shut off the water to stop the leak immediately. Roto-Rooter never once mentioned this -- despite knowing I had no idea what I was doing and that water was actively leaking. That basic advice could have saved me a lot of stress in the moment. It really felt like Roto-Rooter only cared whether they were getting paid, not whether a stressed customer actually needed help. Meanwhile, Dr. Drip Plumbing & Heating immediately treated me like a human being and helped me solve the immediate problem before anything else. If you're in Jersey City, I'd strongly recommend supporting a smaller local company that actually cares about people.
