Was craving some Pho and all the other spots were closed in that time window between lunch and dinner. The server was nice and told me that she had 1 seat left available for me. After I ordered my pho, I looked around and noticed that every single table had dirty dishes on them and only 3-4 tables, including mine were actually occupied. My pho arrived quickly and while I wouldn't give this the #1 pho rating, it was good and satisfied me. Strangely though the tables still stayed full of dirty dishes. I kept wondering did I miss some sort of lunch rush and why is nobody clearing the tables...... This is my go to pho place. I love that they offer grilled meats for pho. I've had the cha gio (spring rolls), pho thit heo nuong (grilled pork), and bo lui (grilled beef). The grilled pork is absolutely amazing. However, in my experience this place is very slow. I have only dined in once and it took over 45 minutes for 2 bowls of pho. It usually takes at least 15 minutes longer than the time estimate for pickup. read more

Visited No. 1 Pho for a birthday celebration and was pleasantly impressed. We had a party of 8 and the staff was more than happy to accommodate us. Hand sanitizer was available at the front counter, and the staff were all wearing masks. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. I ordered banh xeo without pork and my husband ordered the grilled shrimp rice. The banh xeo batter was aromatic and seemed freshly made. The shrimp rice plate was also very delicious, with flavorful, crunchy grilled shrimp on top of a bed of broken rice. I would definitely order both dishes again. Every few months when I visit this area I come to No. 1 Pho and am pleased every time. When we arrived for lunch we were seated immediately and drink orders were taken. We went ahead and ordered the Fried Spring Rolls as an app because they are fantastic! The crunchiness of the wrap is absolutely wonderful with the pork and vegetable filling, emphasis on the pork. For our main courses we ordered H3 Banh Xeo and #32 Bun Ga Nuong to try things we've not had before. We were not disappointed! The Bahn Xeo stuffed crepe was crunchy like nothing I've tried before and had good flavor. The Bun Ga Nuong with it's seasoned grilled chicken, pickled carrots, and thinly sliced cucumbers on cold noodles were a nice and refreshing change from a hot dish. I like spicy foods so I added chili paste to add a little heat. My only issue, and it's not really an issue is that the wait time for dishes is a little long. Even during previous visits when the restaurant wasn't as busy the wait was a little long. Maybe that's a good sign that everything is prepared fresh to order. To start off, I hardly ever write Yelp reviews, but I really felt the need to write one after how great this place was. My boyfriend tried this place a few months ago and has been dying to go back, so we popped in today (Saturday) around 1. There were a good amount of people eating already, but the space is open and inviting. The host was very friendly and we were sat immediately, with waters brought to us quickly. We ordered the 8 ct. Cha Gio Rolls (#42) as an appetizer and they came out fast. They were delicious! So crispy, with a well seasoned filling, and the fish sauce for dipping added a nice, clean finish. They serve it with lettuce and Thai basil on the side, which offers a cool factor to the rolls. Highly recommend! We each got a bowl, Mi Tom Thit (#14 - Pork Soup With Shrimp, Sliced Pork, Egg Noodle) for him and Hu Tieu My Tho (Dai) (#11 - Pork Soup With Clear Noodle, Shrimp, Ground Pork, Sliced Pork And Quail Eggs) for me. They came out right as we finished our appetizer and were steamy and full of toppings!! The bowls are quite large - I ate about half and brought home a full quart-size container of leftovers. The bowls are a served with your typical pho add-in sides: basil, lime, chilis and bean sprouts. They also have a caddy on each table with oyster sauce, sriracha and chili oil for additional flavoring. We barely got the chance to talk during our meal, because we were so busy enjoying the food! We also ordered to boba milk teas for dessert: mango for him and melon for myself. Delicious! I've never tasted anything so close to biting into a melon before, and same went for the mango! Decent pho, but definitely not the best in the area. Came in awhile ago with a friend to have some pho. The restaurant itself was really nice, and the service was fast and friendly. The pho itself was just alright. The noodles had a good texture, and the meat was pretty solid in flavor and quality. However, the broth was super oily. I felt a little ill after since I'm very sensitive to oil. The flavor itself wasn't bad at all, but definitely too much oil was added to the broth. Overall an average experience here. read more

Hu Tieu My Tho Kho ($13): Clear noodles with ground and sliced pork, shrimp and quail eggs served with a house special sauce (soy sauce based) served with soup on the side. I exhaled an audible sigh of relief when I saw the menu - banh hoi, banh beo, banh xeo, mi hoanh thanh, hu tieu, bun cha Ha Noi, goi du du.... (I'm naming all the dishes that excited me, but I'm also listing them so if any other Yelper searches restaurants by favorite dish like I do, that this place will come up in the search results.) And then I exhaled another, larger one when I tasted the fish sauce and it wasn't sweet as candy like every other restaurant in the area's fish sauce! You can't have good Vietnamese food with bad fish sauce - you're either having to avoid it, or you're forcing sugar with every bite. So it was a relief that I was going to be able to enjoy my crispy, coconutty, shrimp and pork-filled banh xeo as intended - wrapped in lettuce leaf, stuffed with mint and pickled veggies, and drenched in fish sauce. (Could they have a better selection on their veggie plate and include fish mint, saw leaf, basil, etc? Yeah. Am I sure any markets in the Triangle carry that stuff? Not really, so I'm not holding it against them. Except the basil. They could definitely get basil.) My partner got the hu tieu with egg noodles. These noodles reminded me of the kind I ate in Hong Kong once - infused with some kind of shellfish powder. Or maybe it was the broth seeping into them. I don't know, but they tasted shellfishy (in an awesome way). The paper thin-sliced pork belly was fun to eat, and we unearthed some pork fat cracklins from the bottom of the bowl too. I'm not a huge hu tieu fan, I find it kind of boring most of the time - I'll eat it for breakfast for 50 cents from a lady with a cart on the street in Vietnam, but I'm not usually going to order it for $14 in a restaurant in the States. This Pho spot has the potential to be the triangle's number 1 pho. I stopped in on a Monday evening with the goal to just have a bowl of soup but ended up ordering the summer rolls as well. The summer rolls were really well priced and delicious. The pho was a bit pricey at $13 for the special. The broth is a great balance of beef and herb. It was not as sweet as I would have liked it but good enough to drink 3/4 of it. It was a great size for the price but I also wished that it had more noodles. The noodles aren't your typical pho restaurant noodles, it was more of the slurpy type If you've eaten pho all your life, you will know what I mean. What I enjoyed most about this bowl of Pho was the cuts of meat! The meat was cut thinly which is a plus! The fatty brisket was amazing in the soup. My only complaint was the texture of the tendon. It was a bit tough but if No. 1 Pho can fix this and make "melt in your mouth" tendon; they can possibly win the title of "Best Pho in the Triangle". Special shout out to the waiters here. I have no idea if this has the number one pho since I actually don't even like pho but as far as other dishes, they are legion and epic. I could eat here and have something different every day if I lived closer. I love that they have so many vegetarian options and not just noodles and rice either. My favorites are the summer rolls with the peanut sauce. They are quite a nice size and so fresh. Of course the sauce I could eat on its own as well. My other favorite is the Bahn mi. It's hard to find Bahn mi with fresh bread like this. They can be so crusty I feel like I'm going to chip a tooth but not here. They don't cut corners on the bread and the tofu filling and toppings are delicious enough on their own you could eat it as a salad too. This place has a great location in Cary. It is in the same shopping center as Whole Foods, a cycle bar, nail salon, and a few other restaurants. My husband and I went for a late lunch. The service was a bit slow, but the food made up for it. We ordered summer rolls and two bowls of pho. Everything was flavored well and portions were more than enough. The dining area stayed busy throughout our visit. This is a good family run business that gets the food right. Service might be lacking but the food is worth the wait. Our favorite Pho place. We recently moved from Austin and were pleasantly surprised on how good this place was. No. 1 Pho is clean, the food is awesome and the staff is so friendly. They have some of the best crispy spring rolls (Cha Gio) on the planet. I am so happy that a good pho place has finally opened up near Cary Park! The cuisine here is truly Vietnamese cuisine and the decor is very bright, welcome and modern. As for the food, the pho is yummy, and the broth is clear and not greasy. When you get a bowl of broth, it comes nice and hot to where you can see the pink meat cool while it sits in the hot broth like a true bowl of pho. The veggie fixings, sliced jalapeños and limes for the pho are also all fresh. My favorite item to order off of the menu is the bun(vermicelli) with the grilled pork, spring rolls and sliced veggies with sauce. Drink wise they also have traditional Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk, and salted plum soda. Although the workers are extremely nice and friendly, my one star dock is for the forgetfulness for the fixings for the pho and water refills, and also the lack of dessert options. Ive only eaten here a handful of times, however each time I've eaten here I've always had to ask for a refill for water or the fixings for my pho or a fork. Dessert wise I wish they had more options of Vietnamese che. Overall I'm sure the longer they are open the service will be 5 star, and they will explore more menu options. Where do i even start..! This place was much better before the pandemic but then have gone severely down hill! There was a total of 3 parties in the whole place. it was very odd how people came 10-15 minutes after us and were served before us. I felt as though we were completely forgotten. Second they offer a yelp check in but don't even honor it. Why promote something and then not honor it? Food wise... it was ok. There are much better pho locations in the area than this place! The pho broth was very sweet and threw off the entire dish. The meat i would say was decent along with the fresh onions. Other than that there is nothing to ever bring me back here, ever! It's all about that base... it is so nice to have a Pho place close to my house, and this part of Cary is dying for good food. All the more disappointing because the Whole Foods put off its opening off of 55 (near I540), till Fall 2017, but the Cary govment has a way with permits, not a good way. So, it was awesome to hear that businesses are still opening around here regardless of the larger draws. Hope they survive I digress... this place was really cute. I can only talk about the food, because it's not really fair to ding someone this early in their business, especially about minor device related concerns, like pre-bussing, which could actually use some work. Anyway, about that base. Being very conservative today, with 2 of my kids, so just had the basic Pho Thai and some spring rolls. The spring rolls were interesting, in a way that I had not had before. Ground pork, mushrooms, seasoning, and fried crispy, kind of like a pork rind but hot and delicious, with seasoned fish sauce for dipping, complete with fresh milk by and basil. See picture...(I ate 2 before I remembered to take picture) Back to that base. All "soups" start with a delicious base, without which, their is no love. I personally boil every carcass that I am done with (chicken or turkey) for like 4 days, adding water and letting it seep forever. The base of this Pho had that flavor. Alone, it was super flavorful, but I like a decent amount basil, jalapeños, a squirt of siracha, and a bit of hoisin sauce. I thought it was a bit small, at first, but during the meal I was filled up perfectly, without leaving waste or feeling disgustingly full. My daughter had the same thing, and very much enjoyed it. Asked my son if he thought it was 3,4, or 5 stars. He said 4.5. I pretty much agree. This month they are having a ten % off opening special, which in itself would not be enough to get me in, but the food will definitely bring me back. Looking forward to branching out. I wanted to love this place, but they just didn't live up to expectations. 1. The boba in the bubble tea was straight up raw. Imagine being served mostly uncooked spaghetti from a box. We sent it back, but they gave us another one with raw boba. Super gross. 2. There was a coupon posted for this place on Yelp, but the manager decided they would not accept those coupons. The waiter was so afraid of the manager that he offered to pay the coupon out of his own pocket rather than even showing it to his manager. The person running this place must be a total a-hole. 3. The meat all seemed really processed and weird. I've been to a lot of pho places, and this meat must be from Sodexo or something. I was rooting for this place. You know, the pho was ok I guess. Their chicken pho is good! The chicken is grilled, which adds an extra layer of flavor to an already flavorful broth. I recently ordered delivery, and the portion was so big and filling (as pho usually is), that I got a dinner and two lunches out of it.The garnishes were what I'd expect--bean sprouts, limes, jalapeños and Thai basil, and they were the perfect accompaniment. Delicious food, however, we had to wait for our pickup order longer than expected and much longer than their projections. We placed our order at 6:10PM and were told our food would be ready around 7. They contacted us again to tell us the time had shifted to nearer to 7:15; however, we ended up leaving finally with food in hand around 8, almost 2 hours later. I ordered the #1 Pho - Pho Dac Biet - which came with different cuts of beef. The broth was tasty, the portion of meats was generous, and the dish as a whole was enjoyable. I ordered a pork banh mi for my daughter, who enjoyed it. I wasn't a big fan of the lettuce in the banh mi, so I'll probably request no lettuce next time. The flavors weren't bad, though, and my daughter ate most of it. The prices are slightly on the higher side, but it's still reasonable. The thing that stood out to me that could have been improved upon is the speed at which we got our food. Business was steady, but it still took us longer than I would have expected to get all of our food. Besides the speed, the service was great - very friendly and helpful. Finally stopped by for a to go order and I wish I had tried this place sooner. I placed an order for Pho Tom (shrimp) and walked over to Whole Foods for a couple things. My food was ready to go when I came back. As another reviewer mentioned, they did a fantastic job packaging everything to go - beef broth in a separate container, noodles and perfectly cooked shrimp in another, and finally a bag of the bean sprouts, basil and chili sauce. I enjoyed it at home and it was so good, I finished it all. Broth was flavorful, and shrimp was plentiful. The only suggestion I have is for them to add alcohol, as they do not currently serve any. Went here to celebrate a birthday. We all like ethnic food and it was time for some Pho. We had our choice of seats as it was rather early evening. Menu has a large variety of pork/beef/seafood options, if looking for vegetarian as for the "special" menu. I got the Hu Trieu Mi Mu Tho (#16) which is basically the kitchen sink soup with qual eggs. I'll just say, I'm getting it the next time I go... I really enjoyed it!! Broth was flavorful but I needed to add jalapeños and some chili paste to kick it up a notch. The appetizers were a variety of spring rolls and potstickers. Pretty good. I'll have to return and venture to other items on the menu.
