Food was plentiful and tasty. Crisp fried chicken on a soft, fresh hoagie bun, covered in fries and the creamiest Cole slaw I have ever tasted, all drizzled with a tasty sauce. Decided to have a day for brunch with the girls. We entered the establishment to add our name to the reservation list and was told it's a 10 minute wait. We waited 20 and was tod that our table was given away, however they did find a table for our party of 5. The service was terrible. The waitress was unsure of what's on the menu. The food runner was not warm at all. She would bring the food out, slide it on the table and say whoever order this here it is. Drinks took extremely long and when they brought out one of our drinks it was less than half full as if someone drank it, no cutlery given, fish cold, dry fish and grits, no syrup for the waffles and French toast The floor was extremely slippery with no wet floor signs. then it took another 30 minutes for the check. Decided to check out this place because a friend of mine went there last week and I'd never heard anything about it. It's only a mile from my place. I was their only customer when I arrived at 9:30am I was served by a lovely lady and ordered coffee. I asked for cream and sugar, but they only had a few French vanilla flavored "creamers". I then asked for a little bit of milk, but was told that they didn't have any. I gave the black coffee back. Decided to order their half pound bacon BLT to go because I couldn't drink the bitter coffee there. Got it, and took a bite as soon as I got in my car. Today was our first visit to No Fork. The restaurant was clean and pleasantly decorated. We ordered the catfish meal with coleslaw and regular fries and sweet potatoes. The wait was long but the catfish was worth the wait! The catfish was hot, perfectly seasoned and not greasy. The coleslaw and regular fries were tasty. I was disappointed in the sweet potato fries because they were sprinkled with powdered sugar with a sweet dip on the side. Our server, Say was very pleasant and professional. I'm an 80s baby so I know blue raspberry kool aid when I smell and taste it, which was one of my favorite flavors. I would definitely come back to try something else on the menu. Im frugal so personally I thought it was overpriced for what you actually get. $12-$13 for a wrap (and just the wrap) is high, especially for an average tasting wrap, throw in some fries the same portion as the zucchini and it makes sense to me. I definitely recommend stopping by No Fork! Most people do carry out but we were meeting friends there so we dined in. The owner and staff were incredibly kind and made my 4.5 year old soooo happy when they gave him a slushy. I had the shrimp po boy and it was great! The shrimp were crispy and the batter was flavorful. My husband got a rice bowl and my friend got the donut burger. Everyone said their food was wonderful, especially the donut burger! Definitely try some of the juices they offer. We got the pineapple, bluegreen, cherry lemonade and watermelon. The bluegreen and watermelon were my favorites. Thank you to the staff for being so kind and welcoming to us as we had two young kids under 5. You can tell the owners and people who work there really take pride in their food. Hidden Gem Today we found this little restaurant and the three of us had lunch there. They have a wonderful menu with many interesting choices, the food is super delicious, the portions are huge, and the guys who own/work there are very nice. The restaurant is attractive and very clean and inviting. They also have outdoor seating. I came home to Cleveland for an extended weekend visit and whenever I'm home my friends and family and I love visiting new restaurants especially Black-owned. Friday a friend recommended this restaurant she said the food looked amazing, so we went and tried it out and liked the reviews said the food was really good, but the service was awful!! The server we had was very unprofessional no people skills at all, was very impatient, not knowledgeable about the food, she was asked about several items on the menu and how it was prepared and she just said I don't know and her body language was saying and I'm not going to find out either. We thought it was just us, but then we noticed another table she was serving was complaining about her. This is so unfortunate because at this restaurant the gratuity is included so it seemed to me she didn't have to put forward any effort to give good service because she was being paid regardless. On the check, it said gratuity is included for a party of three or more but the table next to us was a party of two and he was questioning the fact his bill had gratuity added already. We also had a problem with the women's restrooms were awful they hadn't been attended to since the day started, and there were no signs indicating where the restrooms are located which is unusual for a restaurant. But in the end, my friends and I said we would give the restaurant another chance. Sunday after church we wanted to do a brunch and someone suggested No Fork and we decided why not, the food was good we just requested not to have the same server, but when We got there we noticed she wasn't working so great! The place was 80% full, this time it was a party of nine, two of us showed up early so we sat at the table waiting for the rest of our party to arrive, and from our observation, it appeared to be short staff, and a very young group of staff members, which no problem, but this group of young staff members were very unprofessional, the bar staff was loud and from the looks of things there were maybe three servers which seem to share the responsibility of seating new guest as well, which we noticed the door never had someone there so a few potential customers stood at the door waiting To be greeted and after not being acknowledged they left. Getting back to our dining experience, our party finally all showed up and we placed our drink and appetizer order, which was a task for her because once again, we had a new server different from our Friday experience but the same attitude, yes that's what we call it attitude! She was worse than the last server, so we went from bad to worse! ( very combative and smart at the mouth ) before placing the order we told her to separate checks and we made the order very simple so she wouldn't have a problem with separating the checks. The food finally came out and we sat for another five minutes waiting for cutlery, which when we did get them they were plastic thrown on the table, now we needed condiments, which took another five minutes, and now we needed refills oh that never happened, she came to check on us but the items needed we never got. Now time for our checks and boxes. She came back and said I can't split the check so you need to figure out who got what and we can do it like that. Another young lady stopped by our table and asked how everything was going we mentioned to her we needed separate checks and the server told us she couldn't do it, so she took the check and went to the back and our server returned stating to us once again. She couldn't split it when the other young lady came back to see if the issue had been taken care of we advised her that once again, our server said it couldn't be done, finally she said ok this is a hassle but I will do it. Then once it was split and paid we had to question the fact we didn't get receipts, which was a hassle, I finally asked if there was a manager available, and I was told the manager had left for the day, and she was the assistant manager (omg this can't be!). So overall once again the food was good, but I refuse to patronize a business that cannot do the one thing they are in business to do and without attitude. Well I recall the chicken Philly was delicious sometimes last year in October 2022. I decided to try this again today May 17, 2023.
