This time I saw a rat around what turned out to be a basement opening (broken screen) and called them to inspect and see what they could do. I acknowledge that they did do a thorough inspection, found no evidence of rats inside and said they could close several openings to basement around the house. Unfortunately this work seemed substandard; one small opening was missed and another opening in the front of the house was done badly and then claimed that it was not part of the job. We were not happy either with the substandard job or the high fee which on retrospect was completely out of reasonable bounds. They admitted that mistakes were made and they did offer a small refund. Subsequently they have refused to increase the amount of a refund. As a result of this, which admittedly may have resulted from miscommunication on both our sides, I will be hesitant to call them again for any pest control. Sad.

I'd like to update my review since my first stellar review was for the initial estimate process…read moreonly and I said I would update (but forgot). It's been 5 years and we've had plenty of people up in our attic since Rodent Masters completed our job and any time someone goes up there, I beg them to check and double check to ensure there are no rodent droppings. During this time, we have not heard a peep in the attic which is a complete 180 from what we were hearing before - it always sounded like the rats were having a party up there in the middle of the night. The process took about a month from start to finnish because the first thing they do is cover and patch all holes or entrances up so that nothing can get in (or out) and not just outside of the house but inside the attic and inside every single area from within the house. It's a LOT of work but they did it very well. Then, they came back and, in our case, because things were so bad, they sucked out all of the insulation and then reinsulated the entire attic with much higher quality material than what had been removed. Then they came back on final time to ensure there was no activity. So, I have no reason not to continue recommending Rodent Masters and I have for the last 5 years. I do think I will contact them soon though just to have someone do a walk around to ensure there are no new holes that have developed since they were last here.
