Walked over to the spot i really liked it ...it's a quaint spot you can have dinner watch a game and listen to music. I came to watch a Duke vs Houston and Creighton vs Tennessee. Great food, but the star of the show was the drinks. They have great names and are really unique, including one that came topped with poppable smoke bubbles. Stopped by on a Sunday to watch the game. Music was VERY loud, don't get me wrong, I'm young and love music but this was just a bit too loud, I couldn't even hear my boyfriend who was right next to me. Food was good, nothing that was super out of the ordinary. The pretzel crusted tenders were great, along with the steak sliders. For the entree I ordered the NV Burger, very juicy and cooked to my liking, and my boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs, could have been good as the steak in the slider was AMAZING, but the steak in this dish was covered in some giardiniera which ended up tasting like a bunch of oil, totally ruined it. Great late night bite! This was one of the only places open when I was out at night so I went on in and ordered their burger. I don't know if it was because I was hungry, but that burger HIT! It was phenomenal. Juicy flavorful patty, spongy but toasted bun, perfect ratio of veggies, and had such a great sauce. I devoured that burger. According to Blake the flailing manager, the TV is his brilliant idea to bring in business. Why did No Vacancy appoint someone with obviously no industry knowledge? There is a reason no other place in Chicago has ruined their sidewalk dining experience with the very object we all purposefully leave behind to enjoy a sidewalk scene with friends and lovers - Hire someone who knows industry - throw the TV in the garbage and maybe you will not be so "vacant". The adjacent businesses have lines and reservations for weeks but your leader figures a TV solves No Vacancy's vacancies? The TV is such a detractor made worse by its noise often full volume and incomprehensible in competition with street noise, so besides a huge bright light in my face I gotta talk over garbled noise. When I noticed what neighborhood the restaurant was in I knew it wouldn't be cheap but $40 for two orders of fries & some boring chicken tenders is preposterous. The only compliment I can give this place is the fries texture was perfect. Crispy on the outside & soft pillow on the inside. With that aside there was zero flavor. Where's the seasoning? The accompanying aioli couldn't help. The pretzel covered chicken tenders were tasteless as well. Nice place to grab a snack and drink if you're staying nearby. They don't have much in terms of atmosphere, but the food is tasty (we had a grilled chicken salad with a nice ginger dressing, and just $1 to add avocado), and the cocktails hit the spot. The old fashioned variation on the menu has a little banan liquer, which gives it a unique spin that I enjoyed. They have a bar and lots of tables with table service, so it would be good with a group. read more

So glad my sister found this place when we were looking for late night grub on a weeknight. New spot alert! Got to-go food and have to say the food was great! Wedge salad: was your typical wedge salad but the dressings really made it delicious. I liked the added macaroni and thick bacon bites. I was indecisive on what dressing I wanted and shout out to Blake L. bc he hooked it up on the dressings and gave me a sample of all of them! Fish sandwich: was flavorful and moist, unlike a lot of typical fish sandwiches that have no taste. On the more expensive side being $26 market price, but in my opinion worth it. Steak sliders: steak was prepared perfect and the sauce on the side was tasty. Ambiance was chill and they had a DJ playing music on Friday. Will definitely be going back and taking some foodie photos for you guys! The only negative things I would say is they don't take reservations and the bar is not very big so wait times on weekends may be longer. read more

Our dining experience at No Vacancy was top notch!! Me and my sister went in on a Wednesday afternoon around 4:30 for food and drinks before a concert. Food: 5/5 we had the Birria egg rolls, chicken tenders, steak sliders and fried brussel sprouts. Everything was top notch, the steak sliders were tender and the bread was toasted to perfection. The chicken tenders were crispy and juicy. Brussels we're good just needed a little salt and pepper and the birria tacos were my fav! Ambiance: 4/5 it's definitely a more upscale sports bar type of vibe. So not too pretentious but not your super chill everyday sports bar. Big TVs going with sports and they have an outside with tables which is nice. Service: 4.5/5 our waiter was great and attentive. There were a couple of times we had to wait longer than we would have liked when it got a tad bit more busy but it was nothing egregious. This is a great location. It's a beautiful space with plenty of TV's for watching sports. The bar is gorgeous, and some of the most comfortable bar stools I have sat on. The full bar has great selections, including high end red wine pours (Dominus, Cadmus, and other) in 1, 3 and 5 ounce pours. And they have a super cool tap system where the glass is filled from the bottom! We had the egg rolls, which were incredibly good, as well as the grouper sandwich. I visited this place in my last trip to Chicago looking for some good food. When we arrive to this place we realized it was like a sports bar and in my opinion usually sport bars don't have the best food but after walked long way we decide to give a try. The place was small but clean and well maintain. The Mexican server and the lady as bartender were really nice and attentive. My sister and myself ordered a NV burger and a kids burger for the little one. The taste was great for all burgees cooked as we order and the curly fries were great. Also the servers were beyond and put the final game for Mexico Soccer league in one of the TVs in front of us, so I was able to enjoy the game. Overall, very positive experience, great service and good food. I will go back to this place for dinner or have a couple of drinks in my next trip to Chicago. read more

I stopped in to work a little versus heading to my hotel. I'm glad I did. The ambiance was good. Easy to watch the game. Not too loud so you could hear yourself think. The service was great. My waitress was very helpful and outgoing. My fries were tasty and the birria eggrolls were good. My drink, This F's(i got a virgin) was delicious!!!!!!! Walked in at 7pm on a Saturday night and my first thought was that they should change names with Au Cheval because there were all sorts of vacancies but NV also does have a burger worth writing home about. We sat at the bar (note: super comfy seats!) and saw all of the fancy tricks and gadgets: a machine that put pictures on your beer and bottom up beer fills in special glasses. Though these things are novel, they tend to slow down the bar's productivity but on this night it wasn't an issue since there were only a few other patrons. We ordered a burger and a "side chick". Food came out fast and hot on a large plate. Burger plate had a pixie dust-like sprinkling of parsley (which I'll never understand), a good helping of fries and two sauces: a fragrant garlic aioli and a ketchup which I'm pretty sure was just Hines. Burger was super tasty, juicy, and cooked correctly. Chicken sand was served up same as the burger but was underwhelming and thin. Fries were great- like really great (aside from needing some salt but that was a simple fix). Place was very clean and our bartender was nice and attentive. Bathrooms were clean and they had really nice C.O. Bigelow soap. Though they don't take reservations I don't see why you would need one for the time being. Just stick with the burger. read more
