Excellent Hotel. Excellent Staff. Great location depending upon your needs. I've stayed here twice and will make my hotel of choice in NYC. We visit to be tourists and love the location alongside Chinatown and what's left of Little Italy. We can walk to fun spots in the East Village, Lower East Side, West Village, SOHO, Greenwich Village and Chelsea. It's a quick cab ride up to midtown and Times Square. The hotel is small. We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel - it has exceeded our expectations. The location is directly across from Ferrara Bakery which is a plus. The room is quiet and clean. I like that the toilet & shower are separate. My only suggestion would be that there be a door or at least a floor length curtain the the bathroom/ shower area instead of a curtain that is about knee length. The front desk guy was very friendly and helpful, I apologize for not knowing his name. At a price point of under $250/ night this is a great choice. read more

I'm a Marriott guy. I prefer a hotel where I can get my points and stay at a place that meets my needs. Yet, in New York this last trip we made our stay at NobleDEN. Excellent service, especially the manager, Morgan, who was so accommodating and nice to our party as we were waiting for our rooms to get ready. We went ahead to the rooftop every morning after picking up breakfast, enjoying the breathtaking skyline and taking in all that this wonderful city has to offer. New York City, one of my favorite cities in the world, offers so much. Including different cultures, tons to see, an unlimited amount of history and most importantly lots of delicious food. Nothing can make that trip more enjoyable than coming back to your hotel each day to a welcome front desk then to a nice clean, modern room. NobleDEN nestled between Little Italy and Chinatown, you couldnt ask for a better location. The streets are full of vendors and people and in Little Italy they'll close off the streets during dinner time. Wonderful city, wonderful hotel location and experience!! read more

A fantastic location on the border of many great neighborhoods. Our room was comfortable, the shower was fantastic. Like, just want to shower all day incredible. It's weird to come to New York City, stay a stones throw from a million incredible things, and have to be constantly silencing a voice in your head encouraging you to stay in your hotel and shower for hours on end. I could go on but I'm running out of time here in NY because I CANT. STOP. SHOWERING. Anyhow. This place is super affordable for what you get, I'm overjoyed to have found this place. This was a really lovely hotel. The room was clean and super efficient. The beds were comfortable and the balcony on our room was huge and awesome (too bad it was cold out). 4 adults stayed in a room with 2 double beds. It's a good thing we were all close friends because the shower has very little privacy in terms of having a place to change where you aren't totally exposed. The front desk staff seemed a little lackluster and like they didn't feel they had the agency to make it a truly good customer service experience. It didn't ruin the stay for me by any means, but it was just something I've noticed. One of my friends witnessed an owner or manager of the hotel berating one of the front desk people, as well, and that was disappointing to hear. read more

Great place to stay for first time visitors to New York City and I'd definitely stay here again. Location - Located in the center of Little Italy and Chinatown. - Easily accessible by subway (we used the Grand Street station most of the time because was the easiest to walk on one street back to the hotel, though the Spring and Canal street stations may be slightly closer to the hotel). - We were able to reach many places by walking 20 minutes in any direction (Brooklyn Bridge, Washington Square Park through Soho, East Village, Lower East Side). Amenities - Free wifi! Up to three devices can be connected to your room's wifi. - Filtered water available next to the ice dispenser. I usually drink only the tap water boiled in the coffee maker in hotels to kill germs, but NobleDen has filtered water available! - Coffee, tea and hot chocolate is available all day. - Hotel room included slippers, tooth brush and tooth paste, face wipes, q-tips, combs, along with your usual soap, shampoo and conditioner. The Room - Clean, comfortable and modern. - Our first floor room had a outdoor patio area and while it opened into other buildings, we did get to view and smell the aroma of the hot pot place next to the hotel. - Very clean and modern! - Loved the wood flooring in the room because wood floors do not have the ickiness of hotel carpet and everything in the room looked and felt pretty new. - Foam mattress was super comfortable (not too soft nor too firm). - Water pressure is great in the shower, there is a rain shower head and also an alternate hand held spout. - A key card must be inserted in a slot (by the door and inside of the room) in order to power on and keep the electricity running in the room. I like that this prevents electricity from being used when you leave the room and also helps you remember to take your room key before you leave. Though if you wish to charge an electronic devices at night, you must also leave the key card in the slot. read more

Mixed feelings about my stay. Overall I really like the hotel. Cool rooms and decor. Nice service. Good location for what I wanted. Free wifi. They kept our bags all day long after we checked out. My mixed feelings come from staying in two different rooms (due to the way I booked, not their fault). The first night I stayed on the 4th floor in a double with a balcony. The room was great. Bathrooms are fun. Lot's of free amenities which entertained my kids (slippers, toothbrushes, even a teddy bear). The balcony was huge but had no furniture on it like in the pictures so it was kind of useless. Based on the first night's stay, both me and my daughters were very enthusiastic about the hotel. They loved it. And for kids to be that enthusiastic about a hotel with no lobby and no pool is a miracle. LOL. After the first night I would have given the hotel a 5 star rating. The second night I was in a double at the same cost but with no balcony. The room wasn't laid out quite as nice, but the main problem was the noise. The room was located on the first floor right off the lobby. All evening long there was a loud, intermittent clanging that seemed to be a product of the elevator shaft being near the room. Then in the middle of the night we were awakened by really loud folks in the lobby and hallway. This was the same in the morning. The room is too close to the lobby and clearly they need some kind of door installed to deal with the noise (although that wouldn't help with the elevator). Based on the second night's stay I would not return. So I do recommend this hotel as long as you do not stay in Room 101. No rest in that room. read more

We stayed in Manhattan Dec. 13-18th at this hotel. Though I was unfamiliar with the exact area, my partner got a deal on the room so we went with a virtual unknown. In the heart of Little Italy/Chinatown sort of (lol) the place is surrounded by the hustle and bustle of NYC and specifically by some fantastic Italian bistros and restaurants. The place is a complete reno so every single thing was brand new. What a delight - spotless, meticulously clean and fresh. A great resting spot after our quests into midtown and downtown. Most notably, we really owe so much to the manager and the night desk clerk - that would be Henry and Morgan. Henry was often on duty, and no matter what the hour he was affable, helpful, courteous, and actually cheerful! Morgan went out of his way to be courteous, engaging, personally involved with the guests. I cannot imagine better staff! Excellent. Excellent. Excellent! read more

My stay at nobleden was amazing. The decor was very modern and chic. It was very clean. The staff were super accommodating with whatever we needed. They let us keep our bags at the hotel even after check out which was really helpful, since we wanted to spend the morning out in the city. I loved the modern look of the room and the bathroom. The rain fall shower and the awesome bathroom mirror was a plus. My two small complaints: the wifi was a little spotty, wasn't consistent throughout & the rooftop should have lights or a heater for guests to use (not sure if I could have requested that in advance). We wanted to go up to the roof after a night out and relax but it was too dark and chilly. Overall, I would stay here again! read more

We stayed 5 nights in this hotel, and on the first morning we arrived early and had to pay for an early check-in. Well okay, we paid and arrived in the room which was just after the lobby on the ground floor and facing the courtyard of the restaurant next door. Not glamorous at all. It was smelling Chinese hot pot every time we opened the windows. The amenities were okay, with tea and coffee at your disposal in the lobby. The service was okay too, helpful but not really warm. In conclusion I would say that the room was fine, but the view, the smell from the restaurant, the noise coming for people laughing in the lobby didn't make us feel cosy at all. Stayed here for three nights this past weekend. I love the location and the employees were all very nice and pleasant. We booked the king juliette room on the 6th floor facing the front of the hotel. The view was nice. Room was small but it's NYC. I didn't really like how the sink was in the room and there wasn't a bathroom separate from the bedroom which was annoying when you're sharing a room with another person. Bed was too hard for me. My back was aching. But my husband was fine with it. Could be a little softer - just a little. Love that they had coffee/tea/hot cocoa (swiss miss) and soda (for purchase) downstairs in the lobby. I saw some fruits in the morning but never saw the pastries. I guess I was too late or too early. Got to the hotel early (9am), left bags there and they told me a room would be available at noon. They also have umbrellas that you can borrow and car service if you need it. 24 hour access to the rooftop (was too cold for us to hang out at the rooftop but would be nice if it was warmer). All in all, I would definitely stay here again. read more

It doesn't have things like in-room dining or a snazzy bar but this place is clean, inexpensive, modern, and has the best location you can dream of right between Chinatown and Nopalito. Across the street is a bagel place, next door is a Korean bbq, and a block away is a wash and fold (w/ 5 hour turn around). I'm so lucky I booked this place and will be coming back! read more

What can I say about this gem? So much...For starters the location is awesome for exploring. You are surrounded with great places to eat at as well as grab a good drink or take in street art. The staff goes above and beyond your expectations, they were all helpful, friendly and oh so courteous. Rooms are comfy, thoughtful with little touches everywhere (rainfall showerhead, usb ports, comfy slippers for when you return to the room and your feet are hurting from all the walking, bathroom mirror lights up with just one touch)! We stayed here for a couple of nights in August. Initially I was a little worried as it is described as a boutique hotel. Boy was I happily surprised! It was fabulous! Our room was spacious, very clean and nicely decorated. We even had a tiny little porch with a couple of chairs to sit outside. The NobleDEN has lots of very cool technical features which were so fun. The room key goes in a slot to activate the electricity (great idea! You don't have to worry about turning off all of the lights when you leave). On each side of the bed there are light switches for all of the lights in the room and lots of outlets which is so great since my husband and I both travel with lots of electrical gadgets. The manager, Morgan, and his staff are super helpful and nice. And best of all, Morgan is a wealth of information about local restaurants and shopping. We can't wait to go back. read more

Stayed for three nights on Tues - fri. The price per night was ~$150 which was extremely reasonable in the location with double beds and a balcony. Everything is clean, NEW and remodeled. The beds are VERY comfortable, new and hard. My FAVORITE was The rain shower head!! They gave free evian water bottles in the room which was very generous. The TV was a large flatscreen with HD. They offered free pastries in the morning and coffee all day. CONS- no gym, can't control room temp, no on-site parking, balcony with no view. Overall- recommend this place!! read more

We decided to stay the night in NYC randomly and I could not be happier with Noble Den! Since it was so last minute we had nothing with us to spend the night. I was so happy to see that the hotel room had a toothbrush with toothpaste! The room was very clean and very comfortable. The location was also awesome! We tried three restaurants in the area during our stay and all of them were exceptional. I highly recommend Piccola Cucina. There is a Duane Reade (Walgreens) in close proximity which was helpful. I would give them six or more stars. Clean rooms, clean facilities, friendly, helpful staff. While I would have enjoyed the Penthouse it wasn't necessary as our room was very nice. The location is quiet but easily accessible. We used Uber every day and found it was a short trip to almost everywhere except Yankee Stadium. The restaurant selection couldn't be better as we were surrounded by Italian and Chinese restaurants as well as an excellent breakfast/lunch spot called Baz which is a block away and Ferraras Bakery across the street from the hotel. After spending a lot of time looking around the city I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The owners, management and staff are to be congratulated. read more

I visited December 27-28 2015 and I cannot say enough to sing the praises of this wonderful hotel in the heart of Little Italy! I'm not really an NYC girl, and the location proved to be a pleasant respite from the bustle of the busier parts of the city, without being too far from anything. A short cab ride will get you anywhere from NobleDEN. The front desk staff were absolutely AMAZING! So sweet and always ready and willing to help in anyway they can. The management is equally AMAZING, they were so understanding and kind about working with me when a family emergency came up. Complimentary coffee and tea and pastries from Ferrara Bakery in the morning! Walking distance to incredible Italian restaurants is also a plus if you're arriving later in the evening (like I did). Such a disappointment! I want to begin this by stating I have never written a bad review. However, this experience was just too troubling and disappointing that I felt I wanted to alert travelers up front - so that they can avoid similar circumstances. Full disclosure: I am a Journalist who writes about Travel for national and international publications and online. I stay in hotels all of the time. I rarely disclose this in advance as I am seeking an authentic experience, -- and can't be in the position of accepting any type of "comps." I seek out independent and/or boutique hotels in unique settings, which is why I decided to try NobleDen - in the heart of Little Italy. The high rating on Trip Advisor and YELP sealed it. When we arrived in the city on Saturday morning we went straight to the hotel - around 11AM- to store our bags until 3pm check in. I happened to ask, if, on the off chance, that our room might be ready. To my surprise, the front desk clerk said that it was. It was already warm outside so I was pleased to have the opportunity to change clothes and wash my face. But just as I pulled out my ID, she said, "however we have an early check-in fee of $25.00". Hmmm. Now, in all of my years of checking into hotels around the world, I have never encountered this. After all, I hadn't requested in advance for the hotel to make a room available for me early, and since official check in was 3pm, it wasn't as if they were going to be using the room for another purpose. I did express surprise, but also knew the policy wasn't her fault, so I politely declined - but did mention that I had never heard of this policy at any other hotel before. So I left our bags to be "stored" - which, by the way, means it joined a gaggle of bags pushed up against the walls of the lobby, not in a secure room- and went on my way. A little after 3pm it became clear that we weren't going to make it back to the hotel to check in before about 9pm - we had tickets for a 6pm show. I called the hotel to request that our bags be placed on our room so they weren't sitting out in the lobby all evening. The nice clerk agreed but then called me back within five minutes to tell me her manager told her that they wouldn't do that because "what if someone else was checking in to the room and our bags would be in there." Say WHA-A-A?? Confused, I asked why anyone else would be checking in to a room assigned to me. After some discussion I was able to discern that room assignments are first come, first served - and it didn't matter that we had already been there this morning - we hadn't officially checked into a particular room. I mentioned that I had been willing to check in but didn't want to be charged. I also expressed concern about arriving later that night and risking an undesirable room location - noise, etc. (the hotel faces a very vibrant and active street in Little Italy). She sounded exasperated and was talking a bit in circles, not directly responding to my concern - so I quickly realized there was nothing to be done and politely ended the call and hoped for the best. We arrived at the hotel just before 9, and I noticed my bag was the only one left in the lobby. It was pushed back against a wall next to the front desk but not behind the desk or out of reach to anyone entering the lobby. Moreover there was NO ONE at the desk, or even in the lobby - just a sign which read "Back in 5 Minutes". I waited maybe 7 minutes and a clerk came down the elevator. He was very nice but seemed much less knowledgable than the day-clerk. When he advised us of our room assignment - 2nd floor - I expressed concern about being on such a low floor facing the very loud and bright street. At first he tried to tell us that the room faced a courtyard, but then corrected himself and admitted it did face the street. (obviously we would find out the truth in a matter of minutes). I requested another room. He told me that there weren't any other rooms. While we were discussing this, a person walked through the lobby and called out his room number (somewhere on the 6th floor) and announced they were checked out and leaving (weird that someone could check out at 9pm on a Saturday night). I suggested that person's room but he said it wasn't clean and there was no one to clean it. After much discussion (while he continued to look over the the roster of rooms, and insist there was nothing he could do), he eventually advised us that there was one room --on the ground floor. Of course we all knew that was even worse. He then called his manager and engaged in a whispered conversation - while he was glancing at the roster. I got the distinct impression that there were other rooms, perhaps pricier, that they weren't willing to assign. He then hung up and said "Im sorry, there aren't any other rooms." Finally, I asked that he refund our $ and left. Luckily, we found a lovely 5-star hotel offering great last minute rates (thanks HotelTonight!). Show less read more

We really enjoyed our stay at the Noble Den. This place has the friendliest staff in all of NYC. Room was quiet, spotlessly clean and stocked full of all the items you may need. Morgan and staff had plenty of great recommendations for stores and restaurants. Loved 24-hour coffee and access to microwave. Great location, close to everything including the subway. The mattress was definitely on the firm side. One small criticism- the chairs on the balcony were loungers that were VERY low to the ground. Would be great for sunbathing, but not so good for just sitting. I would definitely return to stay at this place!! read more
