I had a very short turnaround for my wedding dress alterations -- only from February 14 to March 14…read more-- and I was worried about whether everything could be done in time. From the moment I came in, the seamstresses were incredibly professional, kind, and reassuring. I originally came in without my mom and was nervous about making decisions on my own, but they carefully pinned everything so I could clearly see how the final dress would look. That gave me so much confidence moving forward. When I first arrived, I thought the dress would only need a simple sleeve adjustment. Instead, they discovered the bottom hem wasn't straight at all, the bodice needed to be taken in quite a bit, and a bustle needed to be added. It ended up being much more work than I expected. Today was my second fitting, and I am beyond happy with how everything turned out. The dress fits beautifully and looks absolutely perfect. I truly cannot thank them enough for their kindness and skill. My dress looks amazing, and I can't wait to wear it on March 14. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing alterations.

They were super warm and inviting upon attending with my mom, sister, mother-in-law, and toddler niece. We all never had any experience with bridal dress shopping so this was a first time for all of us. They made it such a fun experience and had a great selection of dresses both with my inspiration in mind and others they thought I would like! They offered a lot of advice and were so hands on, both helping me button up the dresses and fanning out the trains and even trying on different veils! They also encouraged us to get lots of pictures and video of all the dresses I tried on, in all the angles of course! Prices on the dresses were super fair and a fraction of the price I would imagine at other places. They were also super patient with my niece when she wanted to check out some dresses too and even when she shed some tears (a result of disrupting her beauty sleep and getting up early no doubt!) Between the dress and alterations, I paid more than $500. My concern is not simply that alterations were necessary, but whether I was properly sized and advised when purchasing the dress. As a customer relying on David's Bridal staff for professional sizing assistance, I expected to be placed in a size that would minimize unnecessary alterations whenever reasonably possible. Instead, the dress required significant alterations, substantially increasing my final cost. After my experience, I researched other customers' experiences and found numerous discussions and reviews on Reddit describing similar concerns regarding David's Bridal alteration costs. I understand that online reviews represent individual experiences; however, seeing multiple customers report concerns about unexpectedly high alteration charges made me even more concerned about my own transaction and whether the pricing and potential alteration costs were sufficiently transparent from the beginning. When a customer is purchasing a dress at an already significant price, they should be clearly informed if the recommended size is likely to require substantial alterations and what those alterations are expected to cost before agreeing to the work. I am requesting that David's Bridal formally review: * The measurements taken at the time of my purchase * The dress size that was recommended and sold to me * Whether a more appropriate size was available * Each alteration performed and whether it was necessary * An itemized breakdown of every alteration charge * What alteration pricing was disclosed to me before I authorized the work Considering that I ultimately paid more than $500, I am requesting an adjustment or refund of the alteration charges that were excessive or could have been avoided had a more appropriate dress size been recommended. I would like this complaint escalated to a manager or Customer Relations representative with the authority to review the transaction and provide a resolution.
