    Seafood Etouffee

So I've never been to New Orleans but the food here is what I imagine it is like. I've had some Cajun food from other restaurants before but honestly did not even compare to the food here. The Seafood Etouffee had a good amount of shrimp and crawfish tails and was perfectly spiced, had a little kick without being overwhelming. Husband had the Andouille Sausage Po Boy and even though it was huge he demolished it. Food was so good, the decor matches the NoLa vibes, and they have a TV playing New Orleans Jazz. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area (and maybe even if you're not...)

This is mainly a takeout restaurant, but we were able to sit at one of the six tables. I had a truly delicious shrimp po boy. The maque choux I ordered had a good flavor but was disappointing as none of the vegetables seemed fresh. My husband enjoyed his jambalaya.

I had a shrimp poboy sandwich also that's not pictured. Restaurant was small but had a cozy aesthetic. Food was quality I really liked my sandwich and the red beans and rice I'd go back for those. My hubby's chicken was okay and the Mac n cheese was ok. We spent around $60 with this and two drinks which feels like a lot for a small casual dining restaurant but I don't mind paying for quality

    Bourbon Beef Po'Boy

NolaRoux is a spot that I almost missed while driving by. The restaurant is next to a gas station and surrounded by other buildings like it. The inside is fairly small, but it gives the vibes of a casual dining place where you can sit down and chat with some friends or take your food to go eat at home. They play what sounds like jazz music on the TV, the staff are friendly to the customers, and they sell merch inside. For the food, I ordered the full size bourbon street beef po' boy. It took around 15 minutes for the food to be ready after I ordered, and then I took it home to eat. The sandwich was very tasty. The beef was tender and juicy, and the vegetables and mayo complimented the beef very well. The bread was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, which was a nice contrast to the fillings. I was also full afterwards and happy that I tried this place out. It felt a little expensive paying $16 for the sandwich, but I would recommend this place. I'm not sure how authentic the place is, but the food was good. 4 out of 5 stars!

    Kickin' Chicken Po'Boy

Went there and got the kickin chicken po boy. It was a decent po boy. Wish there was more chicken to it. Was thinking about getting the voodoo jerk chicken but the Bowl looked kind of small. The po boy was a decent size sandwich. Our food came out fairly quickly. The restaurant has some nice New Orleans decor. I'd come back and try the bowl

I love love love NolaRoux and have been coming in since not long after they opened. They did make the kickin chicken significantly spicier than before and my husband still orders it most of the time when we come. I went for the Michigan Muffuletta Po' Boy sandwich this time. Wait time was about 10 minutes and we ended up running to the car wash and coming back for our food. When we got home we got to eat our delicious sandwiches. We both got bottled drinks too and they were also really really tasty. Anyone that likes Cajun food, I'd highly recommend this place. Everything I've ever had on their menu has been delicious and the staff is super awesome. They are polite and quick. The prices aren't cheap, but a sandwich for $9-10 isn't so bad especially since they are sooooooo good. We will definitely be back soon.

The online ordering option is nice but it does auto-set to an 18% tip, so be aware of that. You can change it though. Average - Rib tips were ok but I have had better at the Larks Girls bbq truck. Too much fat and not enough meat, and not enough sauce. The white bread was under all of the meat and sauce, so that is unusual. It is usually on the side or on top at places. Dressing and mac are just ok. I like the sauce in the smothered pork chops but I prefer a different quality of meat. The cornbread is flat, like johnny cakes. They were ok but one was burnt. They were out of mashed potatoes both times and they gave me white rice instead on a delivery order instead of calling me. They were also out of banana pudding the 2nd time and Uber Eats did call me to ask about taking peach cobbler instead. It was mostly just sweetened dough and syrup, not much peach. Would not get again. Both orders were placed in the afternoon, so if you are running out of stuff that early, maybe online ordering is not the best option for you. They also don't accept notes in the system so you can tell them what to substitute.

Sometimes you know you're in the right place before you even sit down…read more The smell that hit us when we walked into Lake Street Eats immediately made us look at each other and say, "Yep... we're eating here." It was our first visit, and the bartender quickly welcomed us, asked how we were enjoying the Bridgman area, and made us feel right at home. You could tell he genuinely enjoyed being there, joking with what seemed like several regulars seated around the bar. That kind of atmosphere is hard to fake. We started with the cheese curds, and I have one request for the owners: please bottle whatever dipping sauce comes with them. The portion was generous, and I'd give the cheese curds a solid 9/10 on the stretch meter, which I consider an important scientific measurement. We paired them with a local IPA and a Modelo while taking in the relaxed neighborhood vibe. Between the friendly staff, local décor, full bar, and laid-back atmosphere, it felt like one of those places where locals become regulars. The only minor downside was that it was pretty warm inside during our visit, but it was also a warm day outside, so it didn't take away from the experience. Next time we're in Bridgman, we'll be aiming for one of the outdoor tables. We'll definitely be back--and probably ordering those cheese curds again.
