    Seafood Etouffee

So I've never been to New Orleans but the food here is what I imagine it is like. I've had some Cajun food from other restaurants before but honestly did not even compare to the food here. The Seafood Etouffee had a good amount of shrimp and crawfish tails and was perfectly spiced, had a little kick without being overwhelming. Husband had the Andouille Sausage Po Boy and even though it was huge he demolished it. Food was so good, the decor matches the NoLa vibes, and they have a TV playing New Orleans Jazz. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area (and maybe even if you're not...)

This is mainly a takeout restaurant, but we were able to sit at one of the six tables. I had a truly delicious shrimp po boy. The maque choux I ordered had a good flavor but was disappointing as none of the vegetables seemed fresh. My husband enjoyed his jambalaya.

I had a shrimp poboy sandwich also that's not pictured. Restaurant was small but had a cozy aesthetic. Food was quality I really liked my sandwich and the red beans and rice I'd go back for those. My hubby's chicken was okay and the Mac n cheese was ok. We spent around $60 with this and two drinks which feels like a lot for a small casual dining restaurant but I don't mind paying for quality

    Bourbon Beef Po'Boy

NolaRoux is a spot that I almost missed while driving by. The restaurant is next to a gas station and surrounded by other buildings like it. The inside is fairly small, but it gives the vibes of a casual dining place where you can sit down and chat with some friends or take your food to go eat at home. They play what sounds like jazz music on the TV, the staff are friendly to the customers, and they sell merch inside. For the food, I ordered the full size bourbon street beef po' boy. It took around 15 minutes for the food to be ready after I ordered, and then I took it home to eat. The sandwich was very tasty. The beef was tender and juicy, and the vegetables and mayo complimented the beef very well. The bread was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, which was a nice contrast to the fillings. I was also full afterwards and happy that I tried this place out. It felt a little expensive paying $16 for the sandwich, but I would recommend this place. I'm not sure how authentic the place is, but the food was good. 4 out of 5 stars!

    Kickin' Chicken Po'Boy

Went there and got the kickin chicken po boy. It was a decent po boy. Wish there was more chicken to it. Was thinking about getting the voodoo jerk chicken but the Bowl looked kind of small. The po boy was a decent size sandwich. Our food came out fairly quickly. The restaurant has some nice New Orleans decor. I'd come back and try the bowl

I love love love NolaRoux and have been coming in since not long after they opened. They did make the kickin chicken significantly spicier than before and my husband still orders it most of the time when we come. I went for the Michigan Muffuletta Po' Boy sandwich this time. Wait time was about 10 minutes and we ended up running to the car wash and coming back for our food. When we got home we got to eat our delicious sandwiches. We both got bottled drinks too and they were also really really tasty. Anyone that likes Cajun food, I'd highly recommend this place. Everything I've ever had on their menu has been delicious and the staff is super awesome. They are polite and quick. The prices aren't cheap, but a sandwich for $9-10 isn't so bad especially since they are sooooooo good. We will definitely be back soon.

As a Louisiana native I can say with certainty the gumbo held true to its roots! Good service and prices. Plan to go back!

Excellent food, great seasoning. I had the bourbon beef and it was tender and had a nice flavor.

The food was bland and had no seasoning at all. Not what i expected from a Cajun restaurant and it also gave me food poisoning

While Happy Poochie has been open for years, their short hours (11am-2:30pm M-F) make it hard to coordinate with my husband with days off. We came in not long after they opened at 11am on Monday, July 27th and stayed about an hour chatting even after we finished our meals. I got the cold hand cuke sandwich with a soda, while my parents split a sandwich (that I didn't hear the name of but had turkey on it), my mom choosing a canned tea and my dad getting a fountain drink lemonade. My mom almost got some chips, but they didn't have the healthier chips that she prefers. This spot was super cozy as well as clean. My dad used the restroom and reported back that it was well maintained. They have a cute porch area to enjoy on nice days like today, but we opted to stay inside. This was all of our first time here and we're very impressed with Happy Poochie Eatery. I very much would recommend finding a way to come out and try a sandwich or salad, though the hours do make that hard for the standard 9-5 worker. Thanks so much Happy Poochie Eatery for the fantastic food and I can't wait to come again!

Great size for sharing, but you're not going to want to! So fresh, so tasty, and made with love from local ingredients. Great atmosphere for cooling off from the summer sun and enjoying a unique lunch prepared by friendly, knowledgeable servers. If you're in the St. Joseph area, make sure to stop by and grab a snack! Or, I did. This person must really need 50 cents badly to actually ignore a customer and to refuse a refund. Your business will not last if you do not have the management skills to back up cooking skills. And this is a small area. When a customer asks you why you charged them something, they are not just asking. It is theft. I expect an answer when I ask that question. My receipt clearly shows a custom charge of 50 cents, for a side of sauce that I did not receive. It was actually supposed to be a dollar because I ordered 2 sides. I sent a message and was told that I was not charged, end of reply. I replied that I was. Instead of sending a refund, they sent me a copy of the current receipt that clearly shows a 50 cent custom charge on it. I am not the blind one here. I messaged again asking what the charge was for, if not for the sauce. No reply. I am also tired of tipping on takeout just to have no one check the orders and for it to go out wrong, no more. What is the tip for? It was 2 items, juice, and some sauce, not hard to get right. Tip in cash only if your order is correct. A normal response would also be to apologize for getting the order wrong to begin with. I have not received another response or a refund so I take it that they feel entitled to take money for items not given. It is not about the amount of money, just the audacity and bad business practices. Shameful behavior. There is nothing special about the menu here so something better will eventually take its place.
