Though I'm grateful for an "easy" restaurant and bar to have a bite and drink past 8pm (which is nearly impossible in Wolfeboro), this place is blah. The food is just ok, the staff (of whom I recognized a few from the Restaurant-- where they used to be happy and friendly) were just ok, and in general, this place is a huge disappointment after the gem that it replaced (the Restaurant). There are a few familiar items (veggie rangoons, which no longer have the fabulous dipping sauces and seemed smaller and less flavorful) and some decor from the old place-- but it's almost insulting that they even tried to make it look like the old place because it doesn't hold a candle to how it used to be. Bland, uninteresting menu (chicken parm and fettuccini alfredo? come on...), and jaded staff made this a heartbreak for me. But don't get me wrong, if you want a nice beer or a fruity cocktail at 10pm in town--this is your spot. read more

We are local and are very happy to have a reasonable lunch and dinner place in Wolfeboro. Good classic Italian cuisine, good pizza, mussels are to die for! Ask for them, they are not always on the menu! Large portions, could do a bit better on the service end, but food is great! read more

This is our go to pizza place in Wolfeboro. Excellent pizza and calzones, decent pricing on all of that. The meals are a little pricier and not quite as great. We've tried a couple of the pasta dishes. Good, but nothing to write home about. Good beer selection, good service, friendly and helpful wait staff. We have been to Nolan's multiple times and we have done take out as well, and we have not been disappointed. My husband and I have taken our 3.5 yr old and 1.5 year old and the waitresses have been AMAZING! Anyone with kids knows going out to eat can be challenging, but we just went back to Nolans tonight with our kids specifically because we knew they would be great. The waitress brought water for the kids immediately, put in the pasta order as an app so it came early for the kids, pizza for dinner was not far behind. Pizza is excellent, we love "Chris's choice". My husband and I have also been kids free and we enjoyed sitting at the bar, great beer and wine, and again, pizza was fantastic. Thank you to the waitress tonight that came over with candy canes and coins for my sons treasure chest that he had to bring in, he was thrilled! read more

They serve the fried calamari with marinara and it comes with a side dish of melted butter. Not too many places in this area serve it like this, and it is very much appreciated. We were excited to try Nolan's after hearing good things. Waited 30 minutes for a table (just 3 of us but it was busy) and once we were seated our server took our drink order right away. It was almost 20 minutes before she came back. One of the other wait staff loudly announced that she was going on her break no matter how busy it was. My husband got a pizza, I got a salad, and my son got a pasta dish. The pizza was the only good part. My salad was just blah and the pasta was obviously sitting under a warmer and congealed. Our waitress was stressed due to how busy it was but had zero sympathy for the customers. It was not a good experience. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service I was afforded at Nolans. The wait was longer than expected, the air conditioning was working intermittently and all of the members of my party were sweating so much that I feared someone would pass out. I could not even eat because the dining experience was so poor. We were overcharged and the Manager was not eager to assist in any way. What a disappointing experience. I've been here many times. I've been fairly pleased in the past. This time, there was nothing good. We asked for a drink menu and the first drink we were told, nope don't have it. Ok, they were able to make our second choice. Time for dinner, first item I ask for, nope don't have it. So much for my wife and I celebrating our 24th anniversary. She orders the chicken marsala and I chicken parmesan. They come out in decent time, but hers was absolutely flavorless. We sent it back. Mine was soggy with water, but tasted ok. I ate mine, finished and she was still waiting for hers. Finally, it arrived and, was only slightly better. She ate a little bit, and said enough was enough. Our waitress was again oblivious of our presence and we got another waitress to get us a to go box. Thankfully the manager took the marsala off the bill. $40.00 plus tip and we were done. The problem with Nolan's now is a major lack of attention to detail. Instead of sauteing the pasta in sauce prior to plating, they just toss it in the plate wet and diluting the sauces placed on top. The little things make all the difference when cooking. Tasting the product before sending it out. It's sad that this once nice hangout has gone so far downhill. If I ever go back, I would stick with pizza to go. In the past, that was always good. As for wait staff it's really hit or miss. Our waitress was not good, I could say more, but I won't. The food today was barely above a fast food level of quality. I apologized to my wife, then once home recooked her dinner and gave it some flavor. Thanks for making a night of celebration, a night of regret. Shame on you for letting your standards of quality go down to this level. I hope this is a wake up call and you fix the issues. read more

My wife and I have been in the US many times, usually on the east coast and in particular New England. We were in Wolfboro in July 2018 at an antique boat show, so I suppose the town may have been busy as a result, but I didn't think it was any busier than the last time we visited two years ago. We were with two other couples, one of which had their two tiny Yorkie dogs with them so we needed somewhere where we could be outside. Nolans was suggested by one of the group so off we went. On arrival they said OK to the dogs, but that it would be thirty minutes for an outside table. No problem, we thought, and waited on the street outside. After over 40 minutes a young server came out and cleared two tables and brought a bowl of water for the dogs, which was welcome as it was a very hot day (90's), but no offer of water for the paying public. We sat down and waited, and waited, and waited. After about 25 minutes one of our party went inside and was assured someone would be with us soon, so we waited and waited and........After another 15 minutes he went in again and was assured someone would be with us soon, so we waited and........another 10 minutes passed and still nothing. So another member of the party went in and was asked how they could help him, well Nolans will wait and wait and wait before I, my wife or any other member of our party return. I have never encountered worse service in my entire life. I wish I could award zero stars because that is what it is worth. read more

I've been eating at Nolan's off and on for a few years when I visit my parents in Wolfeboro. The pizza is decent (OK, but not out of this world) and typically the service is fine. But on my last trip (in July 2016) I had a disappointing experience. We ordered a pizza to go, and when I picked it up, the person checking me out barely acknowledged me while she was busy with something else. I am fine with waiting, but this woman did not even look at me or speak to me for at least 5 minutes. When she finally got around to helping, she was short with me and dare I say, rude. The pizza itself was a pesto-based pizza that had barely any pesto on it. As such, it was rather tasteless. read more

I'm a Wolfeboro local and decided to try Nolan's when my brother came in for a visit. Big mistake. Like most of the other reviewers, we had terrible service. We waited at the door for a full five minutes before anyone acknowledged our existence. We were finally seated about ten minutes later. The waiter was mediocre. We rarely saw him, but to his credit they were incredibly understaffed. According to my husband and brother who each got pizza, the food was delicious. I got a bowl of soup and when it finally arrived it was lukewarm and not much to write about. They had obviously doled it out and stuck it under the warming lights before making the pizza. We waited over 45 minutes for our food. Getting additional service once our food arrived was challenging. Won't go back. read more

Atmosphere is nice and the food is good. Certainly not the best in town (that would be El Centanario), but the pizza is good, and the portions on other entrees are large. I wouldn't say this is my favorite place in town, but you'll get yourself a solid (not memorable) meal. If you find yourself here go around back and go to Lone Wolfe Brewery for a beer before you eat. They have great beer, and this is a memorable experience. read more

Sorry to say things have really gone down hill. We need CALEB back! Things were so much better under his management. Services is extremely slow, meals don't come out at the same time as other guest in your party. Once your meal is brought you never see the wait staff again, they never check in to see how things are or see if anyone needs another drink. I ordered Baked Haddock, a baked potato and vegetable. The veggies were fresh green beans with thin slices of red pepper perfectly steamed. The fish was delicious also cooked just right. I tried a glass of the Catena Malbec, I don't recommend it. It would be great if they added a Cab such as Seeker or Louis H. Martini, each retail for $16/bottle and are better quality than the Catena. Nothing else on the wine list was worth trying. The bartender was very good. I look forward to returning for lunch or dinner when I am back in town next month. read more

Soo.. during a recent vacation, 8-8-15, I had 2 experiences with Nolans. Vastly different. First, I engaged Nolan's to deliver a large order of food for a house party of 15pm on sunday night. Nolan's was recommended by the rental agency I rented the house from. They did a great job. Kalib was the lead person I worked with and he was wonderful. He took my order, make recommendations and delivered the order himself. The food was wonderful and plentiful. If this had been my only experience, it would have been a 5 star rating. Unfortunately, we thought that since we had such a great first experience that we would go in for lunch. It was a rainy Wednesday so 5 of us went in for a light lunch. The food was again, yummy. But the waitress from HELL was assisted to our table. I just could not believe it was the same place. It was a Wednesday so the place was not crowded. We walked in and the waitress seated us, gave us menus and asked us for a drink order we ordered 4 soft drinks and I ordered a glass of prosecco. She delivered the soft drinks and put down a an empty glass and a sealed mini bottle of prosecco. I asked her if she was going to pour it, she said no, the customers do that.. really.. i think she just did not want to mess up her very long and ornate finger nails. We then ordered light appetizers. And at the end she said.. that's it. And gave us attitude that we were not ordering more. The rest of the meal was dealing with her surly attitude. I asked if Kalib, the nice person I previously interacted with was in, with the plan of complaining, she stated that he was out for the next 2 days and turned her back on us. So, we paid the bill and I left a $2 tip on a $60 bill intentionally. And we walked out in to the rain. Only to have the nasty waitress follow us into the stret, yelling at us "hey, is your bill paid correctly?" Noone asked why we would leave such a lousy tip, how our meal was.. nothing. Literally 2 days before I had ordered over $300 of food for delivery and tipped $45 for delivery.... well... that is a long explanation but I wanted to relay our experience. My family ran a catering business for 30 years, I was in the service industry, that level of service was unacceptable. .. i will NOT be going back. I know I tend to rip good restaurants apart but this one really deserves it. The staff was friendly but almost absent minded about actually catering to our needs. The menu has no options for children so leave them at home. Their beer offerings are decent. The appetizer we had was the spinach artichoke dip which tasted pretty standard. Now this is where it gets bad. The fountain soda cup(standard Pepsi cup) , had brown residue streaked along the inside of the cup. I instantly became disgusted . the server should keep an eye out for cups that literally look like someone defecated inside of it. The soup was basically tasteless and watered down. The pizza was pretty good (knock off NY style). The toppings were only on the lower half of the pizza. To top it off you can notice they do not clean their oven well because of the large chuncks of charcoal build up on the bottom of the pizza which leaves your fingers black. The restaurant its self was unique and the lighting fixtures provided a vintage feel. Very clean, including the restroom , which unfortunately to get to you need to pass literally through the pizza unit. The location is prime and the outside beautiful. Just AWFUL. SO disappointing. We've tried THREE TIMES, each time with a more disastrous experience than the previous...the only thing worse than the less than mediocre food is the consistently apathetic service. Sent you out the door with the wrong order? Turn right around and step back in and once you finally get the attention of staff, one is met with a shrug - after asking for the correct item and stating that I'd wait for the pizza to be remade, another shrug...25 minutes later (I was told the pizza would take 8 minutes), I approached the counter and was told "I guess we never made it." and another apathetic shrug - no solution offered. When I went to pick up our last order, we actually laughed when we opened up the boxes - the worst looking and tasting pizzas we've ever had. We're local. the ratings for this place are really surprising. i never write reviews, but they really deserve better than 3.5 stars. we stopped by after an impromptu sunday hike nearby. we were looking for a place we could grab a quick bite and a beer. the other places with better reviews were all closed, so we decided to suck it up and were prepared for a 3 star experience with mediocre pizza and shitty service. luckily, most yelp reviewers are overly critical and complain about the most absurd things. this place was great. we were seated immediately, service was super friendly and attentive, drinks were good, and the pizza was phenomenal. i generally don't like thin crust but it was really really yummy. we ordered our own favorite (sausage & banana peppers with fresh mozza) and it was perfect. would definitely make the 45 minute drive to come back for another lovely sunday afternoon meal. read more

EH.... live here in town, seen this restaurant go through many hands since 2001. Food is hot, beer is cold, wait staff is somewhat angry and unfriendly. Have policy that is you are under 21 you can't sit at the bar. Have gone there several times with just my son, limited two person seating, won't sit two people at a table that will seat four, and refuse to serve a father and son at the bar where there are 10 empty seats. FYI, my son is a 20 year old college student. Every other restaurant in town you can eat at the bar. I understand every business has rules, but to turn customers away because you can't sit at an open four person table or at the bar is ridiculous. My family of four used to eat there once a week as we live in town, well there are other places to eat in town and I would encourage everybody to try those places and PASS on Nolan's. Would give a lower star if it were an option! Started our evening with a 15 minute wait for our waitress to even acknowledge us. Took about half an hour to get 3 drinks, then finally got to order our dinner which was two calzones and two "prime rib special". Two entrees came out about an hour later, the other two came out about 15 minutes after that. The prime rib, which was ordered medium rare, came out over cooked and cold. Sides were cold, no aujus or steak knife came with it. When brought attention to the owner, Caroline Nolan, she offered free drinks and suggested I "take a deep breath", blaming the kitchen for being understaffed and told us head chef had just quit, we had a new waitress, etc. before handing us the final bill for about $100 and very little apology.Told Caroline we are locals that had dined there many times before and had never received such a bad experience from this restaurant. Only compensation was deducting the prime rib from the bill after 2 hours of waiting for dinner and leaving hungry. Also requested that we told the waitress she did a good job because she had "already cried 5 times tonight". Would not recommend. Very expensive for a terrible meal and terrible service. read more
