Mozzarella sticks, at Noli's Restaurant in Winsted, CT.
    Tom D.

Will get right to the point -- pizza is lousy, subpar. Basically on the same level as pizza you'd find in a gas station or made in a High School cafeteria. Bland & flavorless. Boring, uninspiring & amateurish. And a rip-off, considering they charged me a quality pizza price. The wings and mozzarella sticks were OK, but there is no way I'd ever return to sample other menu items. If they can't even make a remotely decent pizza, why bother ??

Went to Nolis tonight for dinner. It was excellent! Linda, our server, was delightful. The food was excellent. Highly recommend.

Noli Noli Noli, what will I do if someday I move away for good? Over the past 20 odd years I've had chicken Marsala at other restaurants and they've never been able to compare to yours. I'm so glad the quality of this meal has always remained consistent since I first ordered here. Y'all are the best, and I thank you for that.

Plates the big enough to feed half the town!!!! Sooo amazing, i had the chicken piccatta! It really was amazing, all entres come with salad and pasta! Recently added full bar! WOOT!!!!! Great dessert is the flute lemoncelllo! You get to keep the flute!!! How fab! Great place for lunch and dinner great! The reason why im taking away a star is because they had the doors open and i was freezing, and when i asked for our waitress to close them, she did for 30 seconds and opened them again, thanks a bunch :/

Shrimp scampi with linguini, absolutely delicious!

We ordered pizza from Noli's tonight. The pizza was less than average. It had zero taste, was rubbery and simply put ~ bla!

Only pizza place in Winsted that delivers. It's a bit pricey, pizza is okay and it takes FOREVER for delivery.

To be clear, I doubt people think "Winsted CT" is a foodie destination, but if you stop at Mario's Tuscany Grill, it will be from that point forward. Starting at the top, there is plenty of parking on the street. This area of Main Street Winsted is actually ok for a little walk on the sidewalk. Once inside Mario's, the staff is very warm and friendly, showing you to a table quickly. The dining room has ample space, you do not feel crowded. The menu is amazing, on previous visits the Seafood Combination and Chicken Milanese is simply perfect and delicious with an ample portion! Here's where it gets even weirder and BETTER. If you visit their Facebook page, you see pictures of amazing platters of food. YET!, that isn't on the menu. So I asked the very friendly waiter, "how do we do these platters?".. He simply said, tell me what you want! My friend and I collaborated, and said "start with steak gorzonzola".. Ok, then what? "Well Some Clams", "how many?" Me: "I dont know,a dozen?" "that enough?", Me: "No of course not" Waiter: "What else?" Me: "well, some scallops, some shrimp, and more clams".. Waiter replies, "Ok, we'll make it nice" .. "Nice" has to be the understatement of the year. This platter comes out, Steak Gorgonzola, flanked with 18 clams, half a dozen scallops, grilled shrimp, asparagus, Caprese tomato salad.. it was unbelievable.. Everything was cooked to perfection, the presentation was absolutely outrageous, and it was incredibly delicious!! Not sure how far Winsted is from your house, but it's an hour from mine and worth the ride!! You have to visit this place..

If comfort had an address, it would be Mario's. We always kick things off with a small pizza for the table, because that's the law here. The bread and tomato relish? Should be sold by the gallon. I would pay an irresponsible amount of money for it. If you know, you know. Last night's table lineup was elite: * One of us ordered the veal Neapolitan -- fresh, tender veal in a vodka sauce so good it should have its own fan club. * Another went for the penne alla vodka with shrimp and scallop, which was hands‑down the best dish of the night. The seafood takes an already top‑tier vodka sauce and somehow makes it even better. As a Jersey boy, I don't say that lightly. * I decided to go rogue and step outside my usual penne vodka or steak. I wanted veal parm. I've never had anything fried here besides the calamari (which is amazing), so I figured: why not? Here's the plot twist: The veal parm was the only dish I've ever had at Mario's that didn't hit the usual Mario's standard. The veal itself was totally different from the fresh, delicious cut in the Neapolitan, and the breading had a little... funk. Almost like it had been prepped ahead and picked up a freezer‑burn vibe. Not bad -- just not Mario's‑level magical. But here's the thing: One imperfect dish doesn't change the fact that Mario's is one of our all‑time favorite restaurants. The atmosphere, the people, the consistency, the warmth -- it's all unbeatable. We love this place and will absolutely be back, probably embarrassingly soon. Mario's is home. Even when one dish misses, the experience never does.

In about 3 seconds, we knew we'd be buying something here. We saw a nice variety of breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and muffins. Some were GF. We ended up with a small loaf of Lemon Blueberry bread ($6) and a Cinnamon Roll ($5). The Lemon-Blueberry bread was more like a poundcake than a bread, and it sure was a delicious poundcake at that. It was super moist and very lemony, and since we split it, half of that $6 loaf made for a very yummy and satisfying dessert. The Cinnamon Roll was everything one would want in a Cinnamon Roll! It had sweet flaky pastry layered with that addictive sticky/gooey cinnamon filling, and it was crowned with a light layer of vanilla icing. Pure excellence, and a Simple Delight, indeed.
