It seems Nona has moved around quite a bit. Currently, they are open Fridays and Sundays in this community kitchen (?) on Palolo Ave. This is great for us because it's close to our neighborhood and there's free parking. The chicken wings are very good. We tried 3 flavors in the 15 piece pack ($25.95) - calamansi chili, OG sauce, and yuzu buttah. The calamansi is tangy and spicy so you get a lot of flavor with a slow burn. The OG sauce is a classic soy garlic blend that is always satisfying. The yuzu buttah is not your typical lemon pepper rub. It has a nice fresh yet rich flavor. Our favorites were the OG and yuzu buttah. We're anxious to try the other flavors next. The waffle fries were nice, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, not dry at all. The homemade mac salad was also tasty and was a great balance to the spicy calamansi wings. I don't know how long they will be in this location orphan the hours will be. Definitely follow them on IG and make sure you catch them soon! Hella good!! Finally got the chance to check out Nona on their last day at Hapa Market & Grill in Palolo. Was immediately greeted by the owner who was welcoming n' friendly. Got their chicken wings in yuzu buttah, calamansi chili, gochujang honey, OG sauce, S.P.V. + sides of slaw n' mac salad. Everything was made to perfection including the presentation. Nona is now running the kitchen at RB Sports Bar & Grill on University at Puck's Alley. They have great food at reasonable prices, especially during happy hour. Happy hour is daily from 2pm-6pm. Everything on the happy hour menu is $6.50. We got the Tater Tots and 2 Grilled Cheeses. They are known for their wings, so that's what we came for. We ordered it off the regular menu and got the 10 piece $15.95. We got to pick two flavors and went with the OG (garlic soy) and SPV (salt, pepper, vinegar). Everything was delicious. The tater tots were fried extra crispy. The wings were crispy, but wasn't super crispy. It had a slight dust of breading. It was really juicy. When I bit into the wing, the juices were leaking out. Both flavors were good, but I liked the OG better. It's just something about garlic and soy sauce that tickles my fancy. The grilled cheese sandwiches were slightly burnt, but we couldn't really taste it. We had a good time and will be back. read more

Definitely a place to check out if you're looking for bold and unique flavors! I'm always on the hunt for good fried chicken and this place easily earned a top spot in my list. Hot new business in Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawaii... I looked on instagram and saw that Nona is only open on Sundays... When metered street parking is free! I rushed over so that I could try the chicken wings. The signs were being set up, and the table cloths were being laid down! Hee hee! I heard that sizzling sound of the deep fryer... mmm! There are many different flavors... Including asian flavors such as yuzu... I ordered the 12 piece box so that I could try 3 different flavors. I selected the following: 1. This place is pretty solid for a fried chicken joint. After trying most of the flavors the yuzu butter is the standout. At least I was smart enough and bought more of that when I introduced Nona to my von lovers. I knew they'd agree with me but hard for checkout the new chick when you already get one von, plus who the heck likes change? The chili calamansi, kochujung, green dragon, and og are all good don't get me wrong, but the one I dream of days later is the yuzu. I been lucky that they are nearby and have been open on some Saturdays so that there's one less thing for me to cook. Been a huge fan even when they were at their Liliha location. This is my 5th time coming into Nona and it hits the spot every. single. time. I was told at the time of placing my order it would take 30 mins. I was perfectly fine with that. I watched people who placed their order after me leave with their food. I got to meet the owner, Richy, he was very kind and assisted me through ordering. I tried all 6 asian flavored wings: OG Sauce - This has to be my favorite, tastes just like garlic chicken and the sauce is chefs kiss Home Sauce - You can really taste and smell the sesame oil (if I'm correct that's what it had) Calamansi Chili - love the chili, gives the kick. As I walked in, I was a bit confused of where to order, then I saw Rich the owner cooking. I approach him and he acknowledge me right away and told me where to order his wings. For the employees at the bar, horrible customer service basics. They didn't really acknowledge me. I moved infront of them and still didn't haven't been acknowledged by them. I can't believe it, the wings was so good. The Calamansi Chili was perfect, I can taste the citrus and chili. OG reminds me of the filipino bbq chicken at the family party, and the Yuzu butter was good. My wife and I found it a little too salty, but the butter was on point, just need to make it less salty. Nona have the potential to rival Von's Chicken and be the best Wing restuarant in Hawaii. I'm not sure if moving in to Rock Bottom Sports Bar was a good move, I'm worried they might bring you down due to poor customer service.
