First time here and really enjoyed the family feeling. Their bean and ham soup was great. They have it everyday and a other homemade soups daily. This is a must try!

When u first walk in you can tell it's an old style diner which is nice to see that they still exist, not very packed which to me is a plus, I know people say a packed house means it's good but it really doesn't all the time. They were fast and reliable on bringing coffee and making sure we never stayed empty. I had the Steak & Eggs, which was just okay but I can't really complain over $12 Steak and Eggs, it wasn't bad but a little tough to cut and I think mainly it's because the steak knife wasn't sharp at all. The eggs were very delicious & the hash browns were nice and crispy. Overall it was a good breakfast spot, definitely would like to come back and try an omelette.

Wow what a Delicious addition, new owner John brings Indian food to the menu. Mike still in the house will gain some new cooking skills . Outstanding Chicken Tandoori OMG, those Mega Chicken Leg's well over a pound. Perfect balance of Indian spice on a bed of Peppers and Onions on a sizzling platter. Started with a wonderful bowl of Chicken and Dumplings Soup spot on. She had really good Double Burger with Deep Fried Shrooms.#Thanks Tanya for the great service . Looking forward to many many other Indian foods. Going back really soon to try the Goat Biryani on the special. #nonasdiner #chickentandoori #goatbiryani #indianfood #chickendumplingsoup #doubleburger #deepfriedmushrooms #downriverfriendseat

This was an awful table to be at in here. We hardly had elbow room or table space, especially after the giant platter sized bread was out with all of the breakfast/ brunch items for half of the table. I ordered the Fazolia. Everyone else got omelets, burgers or wrap items. Yes, a couple of team members weren't keen on ordering Fasolia with scrambled eggs, large Greek salad, 2 lahm sighar (one with potato and one quit eggs), 2 smashed burger, Yemeni scrambled eggs, chicken fajita, Greek skillet, southwest skillet, chicken wrap, coffee, tea without milk, Turkish coffee, mint lemonade refresher. Every team member said their food was good. The scrambled eggs are a tad runny and looked a bit puréed. The fasolia has good flavor and even better with some heat. It came out piping hot. Without the added eggs, this dish would be woefully lacking in substance for me. I would likely still be left hungry with the beans alone, since I don't eat the bread, generally. I tried the bread to give it a go, it's good. The Greek salad is nicely plated or bowled rather. The ingredients are in separate piles and looks like a pinwheel. The red onions were crudely cut. The tomatoes looked wrinkled and not so appealing. The Greek salad was underwhelming for me. The tea doesn't taste good, definitely need some honey, sugar or the milk here, although I favor nothing in my tea.

This place is definitely worth a visit if you are ever in the Detroit area. First things first,…read morethey do not take reservations and they are always on a wait, that should tell you that they are good. We arrived in the middle of a snowstorm on a weekday. It was a Friday though around 11am and, predictably, they had a wait. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. It was totally worth the wait. Their ambiance is cute- the hallway is clean, they have bench seating and they put you on the list to get a text, so you could sit in the car if you really wanted to; we did not. They could use a foyer though. It was 22 degrees and snowing so every time the door opened we were instantly freezing. The menu is massive so if you're trying this for the first time and you're from out of town, honey bring as many friends as you can so that you guys can order everything!! Theeeee must have that I tried were the smoked wings. I have never had wings that were smoked and then fried baby they were crispy. They were seasoned to the bone and were delicious. I almost ate them all and had no room for anything else. We also did the berry pancakes which could feed 3-5 people alone; second of all, they're not overly sweet, which is why I did berries and not the peaches or anything like that; and, third of all, the pancakes are the size of your face, but they are fluffy and melt in your mouth! These were easily top two pancakes I've had in my life. We also tried the shrimp and grits, also a 10/10. A generous portion of shrimp, not overcooked and the sauce was bomb. They do put bacon on it if you're not a bacon eater pay attention. I tasted around it anyways but yes, we also tried a vegetarian omelette with home fries. This was just a 7/10 but probably because we only ever tasted it reheated because we were too full to touch it. It was 3 entrees and an appetizer and was definitely enough food to feed a family of seven. This is a must visit place, so if you are in the area and have never been: make time!!!! And take some friends. Each plate is a day's worth of calories!

I was finally able to try this place and was very pleased!…read more This place is very unique and has some really delicious selections. Started with their version of beignets. Theirs are more like a fried croissant, which isn't bad at all. Theirs flavors added with the dipping sauce was great. Their breakfast portions are no complaint. They are most definitely shareable sizes. I ordered a southwest skillet (just some things out) and I loved it. The shrimp and grits were really good too. Service was nice and everyone in the restaurant worked as a team. It was also very clean in the inside. Prices were very reasonable as well. I will gladly give them my business again.

The food was great but didn't have a phenomenal taste for the price point it's at. I ordered the Makanek Sausage Hash and a hot matcha latte. The matcha latte was great and had the right ratio of milk to matcha (also wasn't too sweet). The hash was delicious and the presentation was incredible but unfortunately, it was over spiced for my liking. I could taste freshly crushed black pepper in every bite and it over powered the other flavors of the dish. At a higher price point, I'd expect the dish to have a better combo of flavors. Definitely still recommend this spot but it's not the same as I remember it!
