I would not recommend this place as for what I just witnessed was just unsanitary the cook here at BIZZY BEES here at 12118 on fort st by goddard rd just wiped his hands on hip pants and did not wash his hands then put my biscuits and gravy in the microwave wave then instead of using the spatula tho put some one else pancakes on the plate he flips the pancakes 8n his had that he just whipped on his pants that he never washed his hands I hope the person that is getting them pancakes dont get sick I will never ever be returning tho this restaurant because everything he has touched has no be cross contamination this place is un sanitary the do not practice food safety iam going to be reaching out to the food and safety department BBB read more

I used to LOVE bizzy bee, it was the one coney island i couldn't pass up when i came to town. It has since then gone VERY downhill.. we walked in and the diner smelled of nothing but an ashtray. The waitress neglected to tell me about my food being changed because they were out of an ingredient. While also getting my boyfriend's food wrong as well. It was just not organized nor was it anything it used to be. Very disappointed returning customer here. read more

Hot n New just opened new owner with lots of experience. He grew up in Dad's Michigan Coney Island on Michigan Ave, I was a regular customer back in the 70s and 80s . He and son owned Dearborn Coney Island on Telegraph in Dearborn, son still owns it. He bought a few months ago, freshen up inside looking great. So Happy to see this place reopening after 6 plus months. Had outstanding Delicious Italian Wedding Soup spot on. A mega Cobb Salad with hot steamy Chicken Wowed will feed two easy. The staff here were so friendly and welcoming! The restaurant was clean and smelled delicious. They had some great meal specials that were very fairly priced. I had a cheese burger that was ok (frozen patty I think) but my fries were great. My friend that was with me had the patti melt and said it was great. I stopped in after work, Hungry and wanting a good salad, Greek in particular and the dilemma was what protein to add. My go to, particularly at coney islands, is gyro meat. But Bizzy Bee's marinated chicken breast is So good, juicy and flavor is out of this world. Secret recipe of the owner, per my server. I said, "She better right it down and either put it in a safe deposit box or swear someone to secrecy, God forbid anything ever happen to her." Gyro meat won the coin toss and the small Greek salad with 2 dressings (another flavor extravaganza) was perfect. Fresh greens, lots of feta, beets, pepperoncini, olives tomatoes. Perfection. I opted no pita this time but theirs are delicious. I had a bowl of cream of broccoli soup to start and that was hot and delicious. Lemonade to celebrate the warmer weather and I had a very satisfying dinner. I've never had a bad meal at Bizzy Bees, they have just about everything. Sandwiches (regular and pita), wraps, great burgers and fries, nice salads, breakfast anytime, homemade desserts, comfort food/ hot meals. If you can't find anything you like here, you're Way too picky. Staff are very friendly, attentive and professional. Decor is nicer diner with multiple booths, tables for 4 and high top chairs at the counter. Facilities are not fancy but clean. Prices are $$, as is everything these days. My wife and I randomly stopped in for breakfast, and it was great! The service is great and the owner is a great cook as well! What I really liked was that there are healthy choices on the menu. I stopped in last Wednesday when I realized it was reopened. First thing I can say is the new owners definitely cleaned up the inside it looks great in there. Also it was nice that the new owner Sarah came and introduced herself to us at the table. Our waitress was incredible. I think her name was Jackie maybe Jamie. Ok here goes... There a guest in the house. I wake up late and don't really feel like making food... I turn to my fiance', "we should go to brunch at Bizzy Bee." He'd be like, "Sure, I think my sister hasn't been there yet." So we dip, and we fly over to break bread before she fly's off to Hotlanta. We come in on a Sunday noon and we make it right on top of Sunday brunch rush. They notice us right away,, "how many?" "Three please." The waiter looks around, "we've got a few booths finishing up. It'll be just a couple of minutes." I smile back with appreciation, "thank you, but no rush. We're not in a hurry." After a few minutes, a booth was cleared and we were seated promptly. We scan the menu, I do their Chicken and Waffles on their specials board. Sister-in-law did the Red Velvet Waffles. Both of them were YAAAAAS delicious. Not a big fan of chicken breast, but chicken breast seasoned that good,, heck to the mothereffin YAAAAAAAAS!! Quite simply one of the best diners I've been to, and definitely above and beyond for the downriver area. Food comes plated like a 5 star restaurant. Service is prompt and friendly, and I felt like a regular the first time I ate there. All of the staff are on point and there to do the best job possible. Best gyros I've had in as long as I can remember. I've made it a point to try and eat there once a week. Do yourself a favor and go see Fadie on the weekends. This was my favorite place to get breakfast food in the area, until this sad day. I ordered several omelettes for family I had visiting from out of town. I ordered ahead went to pick them up and when I got the food home half of the omelettes were half the sizes they should be. Not based of how I remember them or compared to the other omelettes I had in this order. So I tried calling for over an hour to try to talk to someone about the error. I wasn't upset but was wondering what they could do to solve the problem. After I finally got a hold of someone, who remembered my order and admitted that some of them were under sized (and she still have them to me) little to nothing was done to resolve my problem. The only solution offered was half off of my next order if I called the next day. I explained, my family was in town for one day, and asked could I get a partial refund since you remember the order and admitted that some of the food was not right. She insisted that was all that could and would be done. This place used to be one of my favorite places to eat, when it was Louie's Family Dining and I decided to give the new place a shot. Well, at first, it was nice. Until tonight! I have been ordering their NY Strip Steak Dinner, to go. My Mother Loves the Potato Soup. Well, tonight they didn't have the soup. So, My Mom ordered the Beef and Bean soup. I was also offered it a second time, last week. tonight, no offer and when I asked, the waitress, who was VERY VERY RUDE, says, "We never serve free coffee here!" and walks off. Now folks, We just dropped $21.18 on a meal and these mother f*ckers can't come off of a .35 cent cup of coffee, while I wait? Screw them. I will never, ever, spend a f*cking dime in this sh!t-hole of restaurant, ever....again. When Louie owned the place, he knew who his regulars were and he treated them with respect, this owner, who is a suspected illegal alien, who overstayed a visa long ago..... only cares about one thing... the almighty dollar and that is it. Alrighty... Food was good. Service was good (wasn't a big crowd in at the time.) I ordered the Hot Roast Beef Sandwich, at first glance it just seemed to be a big taste smelling pill of gravy. I had to eat it with a fork. I've had plenty of Roast Beef Sandwiches in my lifetime but I have to admit this was my first smothered in gravy. Was very tasty but nothing that knocked me out off the seat. Only thing I feel the need to say which is why I rated it a 3 star instead of a 4 star... The best coney Island around. Food is usually spectacular, I got the goulash with chicken gumbo as a starter and was blown away to see that the gumbo was home made. Slow cooked shredded chicken, good spices, tender rice, all around awesome. After expecting some thawed out soup block, it was pretty cool to see that much effort for something so overlooked elsewhere, especially for a coney island. The service is also fantastic. Food came out quickly and they have a young, friendly staff for the most part. Hard to find younger people that both work hard and treat customers well, and my experience here has always been good. 4 stars overall but for a coney island, I give it 5 stars. It is still priced like a coney island. Also Patrick A. Is an idiot momma's boy who thinks coffee comes free. Ain't nothing in life come free son, and that's the problem with handouts. I am a Detroit native currently living in Pittsburgh. When I come home to visit, one stop I always make is at whatever coney I can find... I was so excited to find this one not too far from the hotel I was staying at this afternoon. I was greeted immediately when I entered, offered a menu and even informed about the coupons on the carry out menu. My waitress was awesome. She was super nice and very patient while I read the menu. I received my order quickly, and exactly as I had requested. During my visit, there were two other employees who were also very friendly and polite. Another waitress who brought me my completed order and a gentleman- I regret I wasn't able to catch their names so that I could recognize them in my review. All of the food was perfect and hit the spot! I will definitely be back this weekend before I head back home on Monday! read more

Now I have been a short order cook myself and I know how hard of a job it is. "But It Should NEVER" have taken That Long to prepare an order. The Coney Dogs were good, but not great. This was a great local diner we attended during our stay in Detroit. After a long night of drinking and partying, we needed a place that would bring us back to life. Bizzy Bee certainly did that and more. Our group had 5, so we had so sit at the bar because they don't have tables for more than 4 people. I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger (for recovery purposes) and a strawberry banana milkshake. The burger was great. The bacon was crispy and on point, it was what you would expect of a burger that proves Jesus exists. The highlight of my meal though, was the stawberry banana smoothie. It was just perfect. One of the best smoothies I had it my life. They topped it off with whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles. I don't know if it was just a real good smoothie or if the sprinkles just made it so good, but I keep craving another one. I wish we had Bizzy Bee in Orlando. read more

This place pulled a full blown day ruiner. I will keep this short and simple, but first and foremost I'd recommend finding a different place to eat. When one holds a menu in their hands and places an order for "Item A," and "Item A," costs $2.50 according to the menu that you were given, you should pay $2.50 for that item, correct? Correct. This is not the case at Bizzy Bee Coney Island. I had came here with some family members and everything went well up until it came time to pay for the food. I reviewed my receipt and saw that I had been overcharged. "No big deal," I thought to myself. Things like this happen and they get corrected, no sweat. Wrong. I address the issue very politely as I hate doing things like this, it embarrasses me. When I had the menu lying before us with the ticket next to the item in question, it clearly showed that I had been charged the wrong price. Plain as day, a mistake had been made. The waitress straight up REFUSED to correct it, saying that the price on the ticket was correct. That is some bullshit and is illegal. I can't sell you a pop for $1, wait for you to drink it and be like "LOL! $2!!!" That's bait and switch, that's deception. I was blown away by this lady's attitude. An attitude of "You are dumb, I am smart, I work here, I call the shots, deal with it." I had never encountered anything like this before, it was insane. Instead of apologizing for the incorrect prices and charging me what it was advertised as, she continued to demand I owed what was on the ticket. So mad that I waited so long to try this lil' yellow diner. The silly bee sign outside should have lured me in sooner. Better late than never, right?! Their breakfast is cheap, hot, and fast. I order the 'grand slam' style breakfast and EVERYTHING is cooked to perfection. My dipping eggs are never overcooked or undercooked. Eggs are easy to screw up and screw up, they do not! My pancakes are always fluffy too; not chewy. Bonus?? They serve breakfast all day. Yay for us late starters!! Their roast beef sandwich is gigantic, smothered in yummy brown gravy, and piled high with mashed potatoes. I recommend this sandwich. It's picture worthy and taste as good as it looks. Keep in mind, the sandwich is stacked so high, you will most likely need a box for leftovers. This cutesy diner is a tad on the greasy side but that's what makes a diner a diner, in my opinion. Tables, silverware, and bathrooms are clean. That's all that matters to me (other than the food, of course). As for service, waitstaff has always been friendly, efficient, and fast.
