It's difficult to find anything in an airport that really sticks with me. This pizza did. Now I should note that the only thing I EVER order is their margarita pizza. Nonna Bartolotta's has one of (if not the) best marg pizza's I have ever had, airport or not. Their sauce and fresh mozzarella is awesome. You can't beat it. I can eat an entire pizza in it's entirety (granted, they're very thin, so be gentle with your criticisms here). read more

We had lunch before our flight out here today. We each ordered salmon salad with strawberries, spinach, feta cheese dressed with a citric vinaigrette. Delicious! The waiter, Andrew, was very attentive and knowledgable about the dish. He let us know that the citric dressing is made in house fresh daily and the kitchen receives daily fresh salmon shipments. This place is definitely a notch above (or more) usual airport fare. We'll be back! read more

This is by far the best airport food you will ever find. For breakfast, the french toast is amazing and for dinner the salmon with black olive sauce is pretty darn good too. Atmosphere is great, well considering you're in an airport, that is. The menu isn't the most extensive, so I tend to order the same things. Everything has been good so far though, so no complainants here. The only thing I can really find fault in is the very limited number of beers on tap. read more

The plate of tortelini arrived with some frozen vegetables that were still cold in the middle, somebody did not microwave them fully! After i sent it back, it came back slighly warmer, but nothing like a freshly warmed dish! I regretted not going to Mcdonalds before coming to place! Never again. read more

Decent price and service for an airport restaurant. I had the farfalle noodles in truffle cream sauce, was about what I expected considering I was eating at an airport. Would have given a 3.5 out of 5 if I was at a regular Italian restaurant. I was able to get my food fast (but not microwave fast), and was frequently asked if I was doing alright, my server introduced himself as someone who is normally in the kitchen, but he did fine as a server. I went at prime lunch hour- 12-1, and while there were people, there were a number of empty tables and most of the clientele were either business people, or older travelers. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant if you are at Mitchell Airport, if only to not have burgers/typical travel food during your journey. Considering the prices are the same at the burger place, and the Italian restaurant, I would rather choose Italian any day. The wait staff isn't actively rude, they just "appear" to be bothered when asked for something. Service is as poor as a soup kitchen. When thinking about stopping, keep on moving. There is a far better bar and restaurant a few feet down that actually appreciate getting business. I did give them 2 stars instead of 1 because their drinks (once you finally get them) are ok. The service was nominally acceptable. There were desserts listed and not available. We had 2 entrees, no apps, 4 drinks: $95. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. And since it was slow they decided to shut down a half hour early; they shut us in by closing the security gates, mopped the floor with strongly scented cleaner, and loudly complained to each other. Never left a bad comment before but this place is too bad to ignore. I am on business trips a lot, and have dined many restaurants in airport. This is doubtlessly the WORST restaurant I have ever been. The waiter was EXTREMELY RUDE. He didn't bother to greet as the moment I walked in. It was around 9:00am, there were only few customers at the restaurant. Although it wasn't busy at all, the server didn't stop by or offer water once during the entire meal. However, it's sad to point out that his attitude was quite opposite towards other customers, who were Caucasians. As the only non-Caucasian at that restaurant at that time, his attitude made me feel extremely uncomfortable and disgusted. When he gave me a look as I checked the bill, I ascertained that my ethnicity was the reason to explain the server's attitude. Food was awful even considering it's an airport restaurant. As airport eateries go, they do it right. Great flavors and nice portion sizes. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

It's your best option in the terminal, but service is hit or miss in terms of speed and attentiveness.

Oh My God you guys Rock.... Every time and I'm talking about years. Coming in and out of this Airport... Has been great. Not only is the Resturant waitstaff humbull and sweet every time butt the cooks behind the counter even smile at you when eye contact meets. I've watched clearly all the way to the young Hispanic women on the end by the opening of the resturant of where kitchen opens. The young waitress who only wanted to make me happy from the moment& time I sat down to the look . I got at the cook I mentioned. I was just the beginning, it wasn't lunch yet and the nice sweet crispy fre-toast and that oven crispy bacon that I love that this place takes the time to do after frying it up fresh. Everything is going on around them just blew me away. All wemen cooking and flying like it was there own home. Wow. I wish I knew there names... Good food, great service, excellent smiles. I'll be there every time I stop through Milwaukee ..all. Got to say is don't lose them sweet hearts that your sweet Nonnas got working for you. Because sometimes you never get both either or good cooks or service members ,and I'm coming and back NONNAS. read more

By far the worst service I have had in a long time. Stopped here to have a drink with my mom and brother as he was going back to the navy from leave and our waitress Maria F. Made us feel like we were beneath her and was so rude to not only is but multiple other customers. On top of the bad service their old fashioned was the worst I have ever had and barely drinkable. Received vouchers from airlines. The vouchers say good for food and beverage...we went there and had 2 beers with some food. We were then told that vouchers could not be used for beer. It did not say that ANYWHERE on the voucher. But restaurant refused to accept it. They were very rude about the whole thing. read more

For airport food, this place certainly surprised me. I never expect anything but drek cuisine at any airport, but Milwaukee's airport has a special place in Nonna's, an Italian bistro. When I inquired about the Caesar salad, the greeter promised I would not be disappointed, as the restaurant makes its own dressing. Going on that recommendation -- albeit biased -- I halfheartedly ordered that salad with shrimp. In quick order, a pile of super-crisp chopped romaine appeared with a generous, but not sloppy, amount of a garlicky-redolent dressing mixed throughout. Over the top the chef had sprinkled 10 medium shrimp that he had sautéed perfectly in a slightly spicy brew. That warm, spicy protein perfectly complemented the chilled, crisp greens. I ate every bite. After looking over the menu, I thought perhaps I should have ordered the spicy fried calamari as well, but I only have one stomach! Good eats at Nonna's! read more

Terrible service if you get Todd as your bartender. Yes, he may have been having a bad day but when I told him I was here every week and got great service from Sterling and Leilana, he muttered aloud as he left my table "I don't need this crap". He somehow thinks we can't hear him as it started when he gave me a menu and as I asked for a glass of wine he muttered "that's why I gave you a menu". So, good restaurant if you get Sterling or Leilana. The food and pizza is great. Avoid Todd! read more

went here several times as couldn't get out for 3 days because of weather and flying standby. the service was exceptional especially by ANDREW S. who we saw more times than we had originally planned!! the bruschetta was pretty good as was the mimosa and champagne. very nice atmosphere and decor certainly for an airport restaurant. we also had the chicken tortellini which was decent but the chicken panini wasn't that great. we also had the tomato basil panini which was tasty. what bothered me the MOST is no free wifi??!!! for restaurants that's a must and airports as well. ATL and PHX both have free wifi...as well as others. get with the program MKE!! read more

Understaffed and unfriendly customer service. We asked for another glass of wine, but waitress told us there were 15 orders in front of us, so we'd have to wait. 15 minutes later I had to go to bar to get my wife a refill - only then the waitress took the glass from the bartender and brought to our table. After reading the negative reviews of the chicken caesar salad at this restaurant, I feel compelled to report the one I had on 10/18/09 was quite possibly the best I've ever had anywhere. The greens were crisp and fresh, the chicken cooked to perfection, and the dressing was superb. The salad was huge...large enough to share with my husband, who ordered calamari. He, too, was very complimentary of both the salad and the calamari, particularly enjoying the calamari sauce. I would highly recommend this restaurant asa great place to grab a bite between planes in Milwaukee! read more

The service is so bad you don't even want to stay. There was a bald guy manager who was so rude and had no customer service skills it made my family want to leave by how he treated us. We stayed anyway and our waitress didn't even know the menu. We finally got our food & were trying to enjoy it but the kitchen is open and we could hear a girl/guy with a black jacket and cap which was a cook singing and swearing. This place looks as if it would be classy and a good restaurant but is the farthest thing from it. Next time I will definitely check out other options for my family. I wouldn't waste my time. We ordered two drinks and food. When our drinks arrived at the table we tasted them and they were pretty good. As we were sitting there waiting on our food I noticed 4 flies in my boyfriends drink. When the waitress came over I held up the drink and said you notice those flies in the drink. She claimed they were not there when she personally made the drink. She said she would go make a new one. When she brought the new drink to the table she said she found the bottle of bitters was full of flies because someone had thrown the lid out. The new drink was fine. The food was delicious! When we were ready for our check they have handhelds that just tell you the amount and you can add tip and swipe your card using the handheld at your table. I did not receive an itemized receipt until after I had already paid. Each drink was $14.99 and we didn't even get the contaminated drink comp'ed or reduced price. I would not recommend ordering drinks here, but food is great! We could have had 4 drinks on the plane for the price we paid for our 2 here! read more
