Decided to show up for the grand opening of their takeout location and I'm so glad I did! They were giving away pizzas for free, so me and my mom both got one each. Both were margherita and the dough was perfect! The sauce is a little sweeter than I like it and I would've liked some more basil but still a great pizza and AMAZING considering its free! I saw they had a banana pudding and decided to get that too (so the free pizza promo hoping people would buy other stuff in store worked on me lol). When I tell you this is the best banana pudding I've ever had in my life... the cream was like pudding mixed with whipped cream and cake frosting oh my god it was absolutely PERFECT. We had a reservation, but didn't really need it, as we arrived quite early for Saturday dinner. The place is attractive. Service was courteous and attentive. We were given crusty bread with olive oil, and a thin, crispy flatbread. My wife had two appetizers, meatballs and artichokes. I had orecchiete with sausage and broccoli rabe. All dishes were plentiful and tasty, though the tomato sauce for the meatballs seemed rather underseasoned. The orecchiete dish was on the oily side, but tasted good, and the waiter added grated cheese and ground pepper at my request. We passed on dessert, but my wife enjoyed her Montepulciano wine. Reading all these reviews, we decided to make a reservation there for 4. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. But unfortunately it went down hill. Maybe they were having a bad night or maybe it was just us. The Cabernet had no flavor or body. Tasted watered down. The tiny baked clams arrived cold and the stuffed flower had a weird chemical/metallic taste. It was inedible and the waiter took it away. While waiting for the entrees the high pitched smoke alarm goes off until the fire dept showed up. We waited so long for our entrees, assuming the kitchen was shut down till FD inspects. We continued to wait a long time. Our waiter kept walking by and not saying anything about our food coming so we flagged him down to ask. Not a minute later our food comes out. The butter/wine sauce for my chicken had already coagulated. The tomato sauce on my penne looked and tasted like they opened a can of tomato sauce and poured it over. No flavor no spices. No one even offered grated cheese. The linguine with clams was a tiny portion and came out cold. No one came over to ask how everything was. We ordered one dessert, a chocolate lava cake. It was most likely microwaved, but it came with a small ramekin usually used for butter with about 3 teaspoons of ice cream. Not even a full scoop. Dont think I'll be going back. read more

My shrimp was grilled and neither squishy nor dried out--great! While I have been to the restaurant two times and enjoyed the food which is excellent, I had a very bad experience with the host. I made a reservation for four online through their restaurant website. When I arrived, the restaurant was empty but for about two or three tables. I gave my name and said I had a reservation. The host challenged that I had a reservation and I advised I made it online. He then insisted seeing the confirmation of the reservation on my phone, despite my party waiting to be seated. I tried to find it initially on my phone and couldn't. After a few minutes another staff at the restaurant came over and said we could be seated. I then located the reservation (which was made directly through their website) and got up to show the host just to make the point. The host was terribly disrespectful to me and my party and demonstrated incredibly bad customer service. I would give this restaurant a 0 for that. Would never go back. read more

4.5 true rating First of all, we would return again if not just for the pappardelle but let me go through the important parts. There is no beer on tap but a pretty large beverage menu otherwise. There is one IPA that comes in a can and was $12. I'm sorry but that was laughable. The calamari was good. The star of the show for me was the lemon aioli. They purposely take up space on the plate with spicy peppers and for the price I really would like a fuller plate of calamari. The portion didn't make sense for the two of us. The pappardelle was fantastic. It's a delicious homemade dish and home run. Tasty, fresh, and an appropriate portion. Perhaps the quick pic I snapped doesn't even show the amount that was there. Delicious, no to-go box for me. The service and ambiance. We went on a Friday in April at 7 pm. We secured a seat outside by the fireplace with no problem. Both the inside dining area and outside dining area are very pretty and enjoyable. Nice ambiance outside and a pretty setting inside with nice lighting. Came here for dinner with my mom and sister after looking at their private party room for a shower we're looking to have. Love the ambiance!! Very upscale/sophisticated feeling with great design. The prices were also very reasonable which I loved. Servers were all very friendly and knew the menu well. And most importantly, the food was delicious! I had the chicken parm which was nice and thin (how I prefer it to be) and the sauce was good. I also liked how it came with potatoes and veggies instead of a pasta which is usually too heavy. My sister did the beet salad which she liked and my mom the ratatouille which she liked as well. We started with the burrata tomato app and it was so good. Then we ended with the Nutella Oreos which were delicious. Their private room upstairs was a very nice bonus with large windows, a patio a private bar. I came here recently for a birthday dinner for my cousin. I liked the way they did the remodeling post Maggie's! We ordered a round of one of their strawberry cocktails, and for apps we had the clams, meatballs, and one of the salads. I ordered the chicken capricosa for my entree and it didn't disappoint! What an amazing lunch we had for restaurant week! We started off with the mussels, which were in a spicy tomato marinara. Excellent. For entrées , I ordered the chicken Parm and my friend ordered the chicken marsala. We split them both and I'm not sure which I like better. Both were exceptional. Very noisy. First ordered an Old Fashioned; not made right. Decided to make it simpler for next drink and ordered a Seagrams 7 & SevenUp (7&7); one of the easiest drinks to make. I know where I finish (with the delicious tiramisu) but where do I start? The atmosphere is just right, neither pretentious nor downscale, with attractive white bricks on the wall. I presume their veal Parm is excellent, but when I go out for a nice dinner I prefer something you can't get at Vinnie's sandwich shoppe, so I either order the Veal Saltimbocca or Veal Marsala... ...which is better? That's like asking who's a better quarterback, Pat Mahomes or Tom Brady. The portions are, as they say in Washington, huuuge, which probably costs them money, because my wife and I always order the tiramisu for dessert...but we just get one and split it. We in Mamaroneck are fortunate to have several fine sit-down restaurants, as well as a great Italian deli next door to a pastry shop, and the best pizzeria north of Arthur Avenue. But when you want something special, like to celebrate a major event such as an anniversary, birthday or graduation, you can't do better than Nonna Carola. My granddaughter's first birthday will be in August. Maybe I can convince my son and his wife to bring her. And if her pediatrician says she's too young to eat tiramisu, grandpa will gladly pitch in. read more

This is our fourth time visiting Nonna's and our third sitting outdoors on their lovely back deck. As usual, service was excellent and we all very much enjoyed our meals. We shared a Clams Oreganata appetizer and the special grilled artichokes. Both were excellent (I'd say the artichokes were outstanding). My veal pizzaola was incredibly tender, as was my friend's saltimboca. My wife had the mushroom paccheri, which was outrageously good. Our friend's linguini fruti di mare was also very good. We shared the decadent nutella oreo for dessert and a delicious creme bruleé. The owner sent us limoncello's on the house with dessert. With a bottle of wine, three cocktails and one port, the bill (all in with gratuity) was $103 per person, which seemed about right. We'll definitely be back. read more

Met a friend for dinner this evening. I made reservations on....gasp...Open Table a few days ago. (Sorry, Yelp!) When I arrived, I was asked if I'd like to sit outside. Yes, please!! The weather was absolutely phenomenal today, so we took advantage of the spacious outdoor patio. Service was excellent from the beginning to the end of the meal. Friendly, courteous, efficient and very pleasant. My water glass was never empty. Timing was terrific! I was starving so I tore right into the bread basket. Warm, delicious Italian bread with a crunchy crust and a lovely infused olive oil spice mix to dip in. The Carola spritzer was light and refreshing- excellent cocktail. Calamari was the appetizer: perfectly fried with roasted peppers and zero grease. Loved it. For my main course I had the branzino special. The fish was cooked perfectly with a lovely light red sauce accompanied by shrimp and clams. This was all served over a bed of spinach. I left nothing to the imagination and ate every last bit. My friend had the chicken parm...she has been here before and it's one of her favorites. Dessert? Ummmm....yeah. Tiramisu! That's all I have to say. I've been searching for the perfect Tiramisu and I believe this comes pretty darn close. Crème brûlée was not too shabby, either. Even the espresso was excellent. Just an incredibly huge shoutout to the entire team here, where I attended a wedding reception. There's a dining level where dinner was held, and it led out to an outdoor area where the cocktail hour was hosted. After dinner, we made our way upstairs for dancing and cake. Both levels had a full bar and the upstairs also had ample seating for all -- and its own outdoor area as well. Plenty of restrooms, including in the basement level. The food was exceptional. Best wedding food served family style. We had an anchovy Caesar salad, then pappardelle and risotto, and after that steak and eggplant parm with garlicky spinach as a side. Needless to say I was stuffed! During dinner, appreciated that the wait staff made sure our water and wine glasses were filled. The place is beautiful, romantic and has plenty of windows that makes the place feel very open. Loved that dinner seating both tables and beautiful booths. This was our first time here. Decided to come for date night with my husband. We were seated right away and our waiter came over and introduced himself. He was very nice and attentive. We started with calamari fritti. My husband got the special veal chop parm. I got the chicken scarpiello. Both of which were delicious. I did however have to send me my meal back because there was no sausage in it. They promptly gave me a new dinner. Dessert was tiramisu. So good. Would definitely recommend. It was good. I love this place! I've been here 4 times in less than 2 months and not ashamed to admit it lol. I'm obsessed with their chicken parmigiana. Chicken parmigiana is one of my favorite dishes ever, and I honestly think they make the best chicken parmigiana in the Bronx/Westchester area. It's literally perfection and has been my go to pregnancy craving. The service is always pleasant and amazing and most importantly consistent.
