We started with Alessia's Crostone and the Hot Antipasto, a generous spread of shrimp, baked clams, calamari, mussels, and eggplant parm. I ordered the Frutti di Mare, and they did not hold back on the seafood. Clams, mussels, calamari, and shrimp layered over pasta in a bright marinara made for a balanced, satisfying dish. Others had the Shrimp Milanese, crisp and vibrant with arugula and red wine vinaigrette. Portions are ample, service is attentive without rushing you, and the restaurant has a warmth that's hard to fake. First impression was calling to make a last minute reservation (the night before), Pasquale was a pleasure and accommodating. He coincidentally was our greeter as well as our server the next day when we arrived. Ambiance is elegant and comfortable. Food was the absolute BEST! We've never had a stuffed artichoke in a restaurant and if we ever did it did not taste like this, silky, smooth, tasty, abundant. I'd return back just on and for that appetizer alone!! Fried Calamari was excellent and abundant. And the Baked Clams Oreganata appetizer was so good that we devoured it immediately. Frutti di Mare was wonderful, Stuffed filet of Sole special was good. Started off with bread of course which was very yummy but I wish there was the option for butter. I used olive oil but was really in the mood for the butter lol. We started with burrata and eggplant rollatini. The burrata was nice and fresh and the eggplant although a little more thick than I'd like, was still really good and cheesy. I ordered the special skirt steak with mashed potatoes and hot cherry peppers. Damn those cherry peppers seeped into every flavor on this dish. It was so spicy and I was looking for a reprieve in the mashed potatoes but the peppers were EVERYWHERE lol. I just needed slightly less pepper. I will say I was sooooo pleasantly surprised about how well the steak was cooked. I usually order my steaks rare because if I say medium rare it usually comes out medium well so I've started ordering rare to make sure it comes out medium rate. This was definitely rare and I enjoyed it so much. I also loved the amount of onions were on there! My only complaint is how many peppers were on there. With a modern ambiance, Alessia's is certainly an upgrade from the outdated, brackish Chef Antonio's. The food was very good. I enjoyed the white pizza and calamari. For my meal I had the Quattro formaggio chicken, which was stuffed with sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and of course lots of cheese. My parents said the short rib and sole were delicious, both recommended by the waiter. My only complaint was the service. It was difficult at times to flag down the waiter. A man and woman who seemed to have owned the restaurant were attentive, but our waiter seemed to be somewhat distracted by the Yankees game on the TV at the bar. I had my daughter's baby shower 2 weeks ago. It was the most fantastic party I have ever given! The restaurant was clean and spotless. My event planner went early to set up and was treated very kindly by Anthony the owner and all of his staff. When our family arrived we were warmly greeted and welcomed in. The food was excellent as it always is! The service is spot on! I've never had a nicer party anywhere. I found the planning part of the party very easy with the help of Antonella. The party packages are very reasonable, there are 3 to choose from. Good options included. I had one guest who was gluten free and they were taken care of immediately, and given all the same options including pizza as the other guests. You can't go wrong with this family run businesses! We had an excellent experience at Alessia's Trattoria last night. We parked in their valet lot behind the restaurant and showed up right on time. We were escorted to our table on the left side of the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the service, food and the atmosphere which gives off good vibes. The restaurant is so pristine and lovely and the friendly staff are also attentive. I had the special pappardelle veal stew and my friends had the duck, also on the specials menu. We shared the butternut squash burrata app and fried calamari with lemon and served with tomato sauce on the side. We ordered a bottle of wine to help us celebrate our getting together again. From setting up the event with the owner Antonella all the way to coffee was amazing. Antonella is so easy and a pleasure to work with. Picking the menu was also zero stress and there are plenty of options to choose from. The atmosphere of the restaurant is spectacular and very modern. The pizza is amazing and perfectly thin, crispy and delicious. Antipasto tray and fried calamari were to die for. Probably one of the best fried calamari I've eaten in a long time. Reminded me of my mom's. The pasta course was delicious and perfectly al dente. I chose the penne vodka but we also had a choice of broccoli rabe with sausage. The main course was a choice of eggplant rollentini, veal Marsala, chicken parmesan or salmon. The veal was absolutely delicious along with everything else I was told. I also must add that the bar made amazing drinks and was very fast with the service. The wait staff was very professional and very friendly and we never felt rushed the entire time that we were there. I came here with my wife and 3 year old son a few weeks back after a friend had recommended it. The place is unassuming from the outside but the inside is very large and has a nice casual ambiance. It is never easy to go out with my 3 year old but the staff was very gracious and made sure we had everything we needed. Onto the most important part: the food. Honestly, the food exceeded my expectations and I couldn't be more thrilled as I live within walking distance. My wife had the chicken parm vodka and I had the lasagna both of which were delicious. The wine was also on point and fairly priced considering I have paid just as much for sub par wine. I will absolutely be back and cannot wait to bring my extended family. I went to Alessia's with a friend in late December. The restaurant was packed on a Monday night. They have a nice bar area too. I heard you need to make a reservation to get into this place for good reason. The food is truly spectacular. I ordered their Chicken Scarparo which is served with a side of polenta. Made reservations weeks in advance and called the day of the confirm changing from a 6 seater to 4. They offer valet but it was packed so there was a short delay. Arrived inside the restaurant but packed and "regulars" Cutting the line to get a table. By the time I got to the hostess 15 minutes had passed and was told I needed to wait because they canceled my table. A little worrying has my mother in law at 87 years old was with me but fortunately they seated us right away. If they were to cancel our table I would have hoped they would have called beforehand.it took at least 10'minutes for the server to come to our table for a drink order. We ordered appetizers and main entrees. Fried calamari was excellent. Mussels in white wine was ok as sauce was watery and salty and mussels very small. Entrees ordered where chicken parm (delicious and plentiful) branzino special was okay as the skin was not crispy as I normally enjoy but caper lemon sauce was delicious, skirt steak special ordered was medium rare and came to the table as medium so my husband returned. Luckily it was cooked as ordered and served rather quickly. My daughter order a chicken Caesar salad which came 5 minutes after the other entrees. Bread was served at the table and superb. Lastly after we finished dinner the hostess retuned indicating our waiter was too busy and asked if we wanted dessert. Decor was terrific and very lively. Overall food was good but not "knock your socks off good" waiter was good but not sure what happened in the end and hostess lacked luster, despite their help over the phone. When you view this place from the outside, it doesn't look all that different from the predecessor in this space, Chef Antonio. Only the awnings have changed. However, if you're looking to replicate the homey experience of Chef Antonio, be prepared for a shock. The interior bears no resemblance to the past. It has been thoroughly updated to an ulta-modern decor with brick face walls and industrial lighting. There are many more tables, which helps pack the guests in - and pack it in they do. In a short period of time this place has become immensely popular and it was quite full on a Friday night. Unfortunately, the noise levels were pretty bad. Between the crowds and the loud music, conversation was difficult. Although the decor was radically altered, the food hasn't changed much. The menu still focuses on Italian-American classics. You will find the usual fried calamari, chicken parm, shrimp scampi and linguini with clam sauce. This isn't always a bad thing as these foods can be great if done well. They score points for this. My husband loved his chicken parm. The sauce on the braciole I ate made me want to lick the plate. Some of the desserts were made in house as well. Service was mostly good. Our server was wonderful, but the bus staff was a bit inept. They would often deliver drinks and dishes to the wrong tables. I would come back here, but probably not on a weekend. Very uncomfortable position to be in. Don't think I'll be going back there again. A party of 18 should be treated with the best service. She made sure that we were served quickly and that everything was to our liking. The pizza here is great as are their salads and specials. Anthony the owner has a great ability to find an amazing staff. Everyone here tries to make you feel welcome. We are so pleased that they expanded from their Belmont Ave. location in the Bronx, to Mamaroneck. I suggest you make reservations earlier in the day for dinner, as it gets quit busy in the evening.
