Napoli has great pizza and great lunch specials (pick an entree + one drink = 11.90 after tax). I love how they have cool toppings like buffalo chicken. The lady on the phone is rude and dismissive, inattentive at that you ask for a pie well done and it's almost like she doesn't care. The best pizza in miles around. Unfortunately NYC/CON Ed had some sort of gas leak somewhere and they had to shut down while the city did repairs. It's been over a month now and the neighborhood is still waiting for the city to do their job so Napoli can finally reopen. The gas repair has also shut down several other local businesses. The city should be forced to pay the rent, lost income, and the employees lost wages for the disgraceful amount of time they have forced these businesses to shut down. read more

I've lived in this area my entire life.... And there are few things in the neighborhood that have been as consistent as Napoli Pizzeria. One of my favorite things to this day, that has never changed, is the spinach slice at Napoli. I remember walking to Napoli as a kid for lunch break at school always getting the spinach slice, and it tastes exactly the same today almost 30 years later.... Delicious! I found this pizzeria during my college days 10 years ago. I have since moved away but every time I come back to visit, I always try to stop by this place. Their chicken alla vodka pizza is to die for. When it's super fresh out of the oven with the crispy bottom and the magical sauce and toppings come together, so good. Their salads are amazing too, esp their balsamic dressing. One time, I ordered a whole pie to bring back on my flight home and the owner was so kind that he individually wrapped each slice for me and then packaged it so I could put it easily place in my luggage. This is our go-to pizza place every time we visit my sister who lives in Fresh Meadows. We've only ordered whole pies from there (plain, sausage & green peper, and/or buffalo chicken) and it is always fresh and reasonably priced. The sauce for the plain may be a bit sweeter than some of the other places, but it is pretty delicious. My 6 yr old nephew LOVES pizza and he can eat 1.5 slices which is pretty impressive, especially since he is a VERY picky eater. The buffalo chicken pizza is loaded with pieces of white meat chicken, buffalo and ranch sauce. It is extremely filling! Initially, wasn't going to write a review, but the customer service needs some work. This review isn't about the food, as it was good for what it's worth, and is strictly about delivery. I get it, its Father's Day, you're busy; but don't lie to me, just tell me the truth. In short, I got my Grubhub order late (they do their own deliveries), it wasn't all there. Called back in, was told the driver left it and would be 5-10 minutes. Called back 20 minutes later, said they got the order and the driver just left with it. Got the order 20 minutes after. I live 10 minutes away... I'm not blaming the driver, as I don't think he left it. He was just doing his job, no issues with him. We hadn't been to Napoli for quite a few years and it seems like we've become reaquainted with an old friend again. This corner neighborhood pizza shop has been here for as long as I've been in Queens which is well over 20 years. We used to stop in for just a slice or takeout pies for parties at school for my son and pass this corner pretty much on a regular basis. So I'm not sure why during a recent snow storm, we decided to eat in here. The wife and I decided on having some pasta and salad and it was pretty good. We started off well with almost a whole loaf of warm Italian bread. I'm glad they were generous with the bread and I'll tell you why in a little bit. The garden salad lettuce was fresh topped with tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, red onion & roasted red peppers and went well with balsamic vinaigrette. My Spaghetti & Meatballs came out steaming with al dente noodles and 4 meatballs. The sauce was sweet with chunks of tomatoes and very satisfying. What was surprisingly tasty was the Penne a la Vodka. The tubular noodles were typical dry box type, but the vodka sauce was a real kicker. Creamy & cheesy, the orangey sauce really coated the pasta well with a great sweet/savory flavor. In fact, it was so good, the extra bread came in handy to wipe the remaining sauce off my wife's plate. If there was no bread, I would have been tempted to lick it off. Either way, we made the dishwasher's job a lot easier. Upon hearing my raves about the vodka sauce, my son said he had to try it for himself. So we make a return visit 2 days later. They make it just the way he likes it, with grilled chicken & pasta all tossed together in the sauce. We even had pizza this time in the form of a small Napoli's Special, which was a 14" freshly made pie with sausage, pepperoni, peppers, onions and mushrooms. The thin crust was a little soggy so could not support all the toppings to eat it NY style, but was still very good in the taste department. There is nothing like a fresh pizza coming out of the oven. For a neighborhood pizza shop, Napoli does really well, evidenced by the stacks of pizza boxes they go through daily. I've driven by at 10:30pm and they are just closing up shop. We'll have to make them a regular stop again after our long hiatus and maybe get a few pies for the Super Bowl this season. read more

Okay so last Sunday, which was Superbowl Sunday, I flew to NYC 2 days prior to visit with family and my uncle recommended this pizza parlor?restaurant as he usually gets slices of pizza and not pies. So since I knew he was having a friend or two over besides me, I ordered a meat-lovers pizza with onions and peppers over the phone. They told me that it would take a half hour or more because of the Superbowl, I got there in 15 minutes and my pizza was hot a ready to go on that cold ass Sunday night. I was very happy with the speed of service and the friendliness of the staff and they gave me a military discount because i am a retired U.S.Marine. The pizza was PHENOMENAL in taste and I give it 2 THUMBS UP and 5 STARS for the flavor bombs on my taste buds. I must agree with my uncle that this was definitely the BEST tasting pizza that I have had in forever hands down. #GUYFIERI and #BOBBYFLAY #Foodnetwork should check this place out because they are AWESOME. Good pizza. I think they have the best pepperoni pinwheels around. Their buffalo chicken slice is great and their alla vodka sauce is out of this world (though a bit on the expensive side...$15 for a bowl of pasta with no chicken or anything). Sometimes I just go and buy a pint of the vodka sauce itself and take it home. They make a really good salad as well. Clean place, nice staff. The Vodka slice is beyond this world good. Their Vodka sauce can only be described as perfect. The slice is a great value at $3 and change. Although their pizza is great, I would encourage you to explore the rest of the menu. The eggplant parm hero lunch special is also easy on the pocket (under $6) and perfectly prepared. We still frequently order their entire pies whenever we have company over. Their pasta is delicious, though I've only had the garlic & oil and penne a la vodka, garlic knots are good but not the best, and of course, their New York-style pizza is still great! My favorites are the plain cheese, pepperoni, and baked ziti (haven't tried too much else). Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area. read more

Got the chicken a la vodka slice and baked ziti with chicken parm. The pizza slice was okay for $3.80 - creamy vodka sauce, plenty of chicken pieces, thin crunchy (bit sweet) crust with shredded fresh basil on top. The baked ziti with chicken parm on the other hand didn't come with a lot of pasta - thank goodness for the warm bread. The dish did come with 3 juicy medium size chicken covered with cheese and tangy but not robust sauce. At the end, the pizza, ziti and one 20 oz soda bottle came out to $18... I guess the food is reasonably priced. I would come back for the pizza (maybe for the chicken a la vodka slice again) only if I'm ever in the neighborhood. Their ziti pizza slices look pretty diesel though - maybe two inches in height? A couple of notable things about the place: 1. the floor mats and the staff's hats were customized with the store's logo 2. as one of the yelpers pointed out, their pricing system is a little off.. a medium drink costs $1.63?! 3. they make shrimp pizza pies!? I will only order the pizza here. I've had other Italian dishes here and I am constantly underwhelmed, so I am sticking to the ZA. This is my budget pizza place in Astoria. It's a really affordable pie for the area, most of the better 1 topping large pies in the neighborhood run close to $30 (ouch). Napoli's base pizza price starts at $12 (not ouch). The pie is large, super cheesy, and pretty standard fare and sometimes that's just what I want in my pizza. It does come out too oily for my liking so I ask for extra napkins and do that gross pizza-dabbing thing, but guys, it's REALLY oily. The one thing they get really right, is the crust texture and doneness, which is amazing because of the amount of oil on the pizza. You would think it would just collapse, but it doesn't. These NYC style slices hold up. A head's up, if you decide to order-in from Napolis, opt for pick-up instead. My pizza arrived, piping hot, but all of the cheese and toppings had slid to one side. I had to do some serious topping triage to that pie. I read another yelp review that warned about the delivery, and was too lazy to heed the warning. Big mistake.
