Came here with friends at their recommendation. I ordered their fried chuleta with pork fried rice and a passion fruit frozen drink. The chuleta was juicy and well seasoned. Unfortunately I found the frozen drink to be too sweet so couldn't enjoy the tartness of the passion fruit flavor. Ambiance is very casual. Server was a much older Asian gentleman that spoke some broken Spanish. He was not as attentive or friendly as we expected however the food came out on time and was delicious. Btw, when I say 'not as attentive ' - here's why - we asked for 3 cups of water and then realized that one of the ladies in out party wanted one too, so when I asked for 'one more' and pointed to the cup of water he became a bit snappy and repeated the words 'one more' with a tone and attitude. We ordered two sets of appetizers and additional beverages. I figured he was tired and didn't really want us to keep asking for anything else. We were there around 3:30pm. I guess this place is great for take out not too good for dine in however I'll check them out again and see how my next visit goes.

The food was great we always ordered pork chops with pork fried rice and the grilled salmon with vegetable fried rice. The Tostones are amazing. The only down side is the customer service is horrible that's why I can't give them five stars they can be very rude

Biste Palomilla with yellow rice and black beans. Biste Palomilla with white rice and red beans. Tostones

So damn good! I use to go to a Cuban/Chinese restaurant called Caridad 78 Broadway that had the best Biste Palomilla but sadly they closed down and I have been on a hunt since WELL I finally found a match! Their Cuban food is so good I dream about it. The rice, the beans, the steak and even the tostones are delicious oh and don't get me started on the garlic bread they put on the table. Man oh man I am in heaven just thinking about it! Btw this is a cash only establishment and parking can be difficult but for their food I don't mind at all.

Mannnnn on mannnnn what can I say about this Resturant aside of being FVCKING EPIC! So as I ran a 5k runner earlier in the morning I was very hungry and I must say this places delivers!!!! First off, they have a garlic bottle squeezer and that already put me into my fatboy zone! Plus also has a duck sauce bottle squeezer. I'm telling you I was in heaven! I've ordered a chicharon de pollo sin jueso and a order of avocado and a order of toastones. So you know I literally destroyed all of this overall tho the experience was great, food was cooked well, served fast and tasted great. I didn't get a chance to check the rest room but the overall dinning area was cleaning and this was during a early lunch time so please wasn't to busy but do hear it gets slammed as it's a great place to eat with the family. So I gave this place a 5 star. Check out the pictures and I hope you enjoy it as well.

Kinda surprised that people don't like Sabor Latino but love Sabrosura when it's practically the same thing. Same menu, same weird forks wrapped up in plastic, same yellow decor, same Chinese staff that speaks fluent Spanish, same sangria and pina coladas... the list goes on and on really. The only differences are that this location is on Starling Avenue, the menu is pasted on the windows outside, and the wait staff is a large percentage much friendlier than at their sister restaurant further south. I guess, though, I shouldn't call them "sister" restaurants in the event that the old Sabrosura staff pulled a mutiny on the Bounty. I came here with the partner in crime initially headed to Taqueria Tlaxcali but got distracted by the brightly colored dishes on the outside window, and cheap prices. We went in and were greeted, and offered a seat by the door. It was slightly chilly, but the wall of the counter offered a little privacy. Like Sabrosura, the menu is extensive and covers everything. We were given garlic bread that we were not offered at Sabrosura for some weird reason that was tasty, and ordered fried wontons to share. I must give props to a restaurant that gives you a squeeze bottle of duck sauce. I ordered mofongo this time, as the savory, starchy treat is a rare one for me, with shrimp skewers. All I can say is that this dish was a hit with deliciously meaty and fatty gravy with garlicky shrimp decorated with cilantro. I have a weakness for cilantro. The meal was overall filling and tasty, and cheap. We were even given a complimentary wall scroll calendar! I see here that there is a strong community. There are regulars and the place is noisy with activity. Quiet restaurants scare me, who wants an awkward situation that's not conducive to conversation? Brotip: (Again) Like Sabrosura, no credit, cash only!

One of the unexpected surprises I found in the Parkchester area is Sabor Latino Seafood Restaurant. The food is very good and the portions are large. Whenever my Wife and I go there we have a hard time deciding what to have next from their menu. While the menu is mainly done with a Spanish flair they do offer some Asian style food such as the Mussels in Hong Kong style Butter-Garlic sauce (my personal favorite!). You'll also Fried Rice, Lo Mein, Stuff Clams, stuffed Shrimp with crab meat & Mofongo! There is something for everyone here! If you do come to Sabor for a meal bring CASH as they do not take credit / debit cards (???) but the food is definitely worth the trip! If you want a family meal I suggest their 'Best Family Meal Deal 4'. You get a family size order of Fried Rice (like two quarts worth!), a whole chicken either fried or grilled (the grilled chicken can be either mojito or teryiyaki style) or instead of chicken you can get the bourbon style boneless ribs- all for under$21! If your in the Bronx or around the Parkchester area Sabor Latino Seafood Restaurant is a MUST!!!

Delivery Order of broiled fish and shrimp w. fries, broiled fish w. plantains, chicken and broccoli w. rice and baked clams at 4:41pm... Food arrived at 5:10pm ( reasonably fast ) still hot where it's currently 43° outside.. Onto the food..Everthing came and appeared very presentable for a delivery order..The food seemed seasoned lightly, but was very good...Everything was cooked perfectly..Very satisfied with the entire order.. Ordered from here numerous times, where the food was always perfect..Would also recommend the Mojito grilled chicken...Good stuff...

I go all out when I come here becuase it's fast seafood at it's best, steamed, raw or fried. You order at the counter for things you want, so plan your order with friends so you can get what you want all at once. Send one to get the fried's, one to get the steamed, raw, etc. It looks like any seasonal shack on the eastern seaboard, but just a tad busier and a tad nicer. Service is good becuase it's far enough away from the NYC grind that people aint tryna bring that vibe. They're trying to have a different experience. It's got great views. Cash only of course. Seating is cafeteria style. I usually have to go for a walk afterwards to help digest everything. Prices are high if you indulge or come with your whole family, but it's kinda in line if your tryna splurge and go big. My usual order is steamed snow crab legs, fried calamari, fried clam strips, steamed cherry's and little necks (or raw if it's daytime or late summer) and a steamed whole snapper if I'm with more than 1 person. It's a feast, but worth a gout attack. It's fresh seafood that's well prepared and simple. You can't go wrong on the cocktail sauces, butter, lemon on most items.

Friends took me here for my birthday and we had reservations at another place, but they "lost" them? All of us have been here before so we decided why not, and see what happens. The place was incredibly busy, we had about a 20 minute wait but it was worth it! Our server Robert was top notch. Professional and cordial. He Immediately came over with glasses of water, garlic bread, cheese and olive tapas, a house salad, and napkins. Tried the broiled fisherman's combo: shrimp, scallops, fish fillet, mussels, stuffed clams, lobster tail, and a side, I opted for linguini with garlic aioli. Everything was cooked very well and the presentation amazing and beautiful. Now here's something you don't see every day; an actual stuffed clam where the clam is still partially attached to the shell! None of that surimi crap! Finished the meal with a double espresso, shared a tartufo and cheese cake. I don't know if the digestif was complementary, but it was a nice touch. I don't know how the kitchen keeps up with the orders. The waitstaff must put a few miles on their feet a day and a cardio workout carrying the trays overflowing with food. Amazing! Everything in the restaurant is kept neat, clean, and organized. The music is not overwhelming. You can hear each other at the table. When the weather is a little nicer, they have beautiful outdoor seating with views of Long Island sound. It is very romantic, when the sun is setting, you can imagine yourself being somewhere exotic and far away. As the song goes; "Sometimes you don't know what you got till it's gone."

Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, it took quite a while for our server to acknowledge us and take our order. A few more minutes and we were prepared to leave. My dining companion ordered the hamburger, while I chose the Cubano sandwich. Both dishes were attractively presented and quite tasty. The food was definitely the highlight of the experience. Our primary disappointment was the service. The server never formally welcomed us or introduced herself. Given the Bally's brand and the restaurant's upscale appearance, I expected a more polished level of hospitality. Obtaining our check was also a lengthy process. At one point, our server appeared engaged in conversation with the bartender, then walked past our table and disappeared into the kitchen for several minutes. Upon her return, I had to raise my hand to get her attention. To be fair, she was pleasant and courteous, but she wasn't particularly attentive--especially considering that we appeared to be her only active table. I had noticed similar comments about inconsistent service in previous reviews and assumed they reflected busy weekend conditions. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case during our visit. We had considered staying for dessert, but decided against making the additional time investment. Now that I've experienced Bally's Waterfront Restaurant, I don't think I'll be returning.

There are some dedicated parking spaces that have a three hour limit if dining. Upon arrival, I entered the inside restaurant space for Dakota's on the Grove. It was aesthetically pleasing. I should have sat inside here instead of in their outdoor space which they call The Grove at Dakota's. I was able to choose where I wanted to sit, so I chose a table near this shed where the bartender/waiter was. I noticed they were setting up for the Knicks Game 3 final and there were two large TVs and a projection screen. I overheard the waiter state that the area would be packed for the game tonight. There was also good music playing throughout. They had a large connect four, which would be nice to play. They are family friendly and had high chairs for babies and toddlers. When sitting outside they state that they have to preauthorize your card. Now getting onto the food. I was seated and provided with two menus. I immediately asked for a happy hour menu and then I waited for about 15 minutes, until I followed up with another waiter who brought out the menu for me. For the happy hour menu before I received my food I initially thought the prices were good, but upon receiving my food it was evident that the prices are off in terms of the portion size of the food. I ordered a $5 slider. I thought it would be a decent size. It was incredibly small. For the $5 price they should give at minimum 2 sliders but ideally 3. This would incentivize people to buy more. The slider was the best thing I tasted while there and I would have liked more but I couldn't justify spending another $5 when it was so tiny. The tiny slider appeared to be the portion size for a toddler. I ordered calamari which was $9. I was initially disappointed that there was such a small amount. I was even more disappointed when I tasted them. They tasted very "fishy." They absolutely needed a squeeze of lemon and fresh cracked black pepper to try and balance and mask the taste. I believe the portion size for the fries was also off for $5. The fries came in a teacup. Fries are something that people tend to order to have something to pick at while dining and it would make sense I think to provide more fries for the same price. I also could not justify getting another set of fries in a small teacup for $5. I did not like the taste of the fries. When the sparse calamari, tiny beef slider, and small teacup of fries came out, I realized I would not be full and ordered chicken wings from the happy hour menu. You have to get a minimum of 6. You cannot mix the flavors. They were out of the dockside fire sauce so I went with the garlic parm. These wings did not taste like garlic parm. The garlic parm seemed like an afterthought, which was just sprinkled on the wings at the very end. The chicken itself did not have much flavor. They did not mention providing any dipping sauce. I asked for blue cheese and I had to wait for about ten minutes and then remind another waiter that I was still waiting for my blue cheese. They were out of the mozzarella sticks. Moving onto the drinks. While I get being outside and maybe wanting to serve drinks in plastic to minimize glassware breaking, I did not enjoy being served Pinot Noir in a plastic cup or the white cranberry lemon drop in a plastic cup. Each time I was taken aback that they weren't offered in glassware. I got the $7 Pinot Noir from the happy hour menu. A regular glass of Pinot Noir is $9. I also ordered the white cranberry lemon drop which is priced at $12 and is not included on the happy hour menu. The drink came out in the same sized small plastic cup as the Pinot Noir. I think once again that glassware should be used. When ordering a lemon drop you tend to expect a chilled frosty glass with a sugar rim, and that was not what I received here. I think the sugar rim would have elevated the taste profile of the drink. All in all, I really liked the outdoor area. I would probably only return to get a canned beer in the outside section. I hope they start to carry some sour beer options. I do not see myself trying the food again, with the exception of a burger (since the burger was really good.) I did have an inquiry regarding the pre-authorization charge and the final charge that I saw on my credit card. I called and left a message and the restaurant got back to me quickly, which I really appreciated.

Upon arrival the only available table for a party of 2 was directly in front of the DJ speakers so we sat at the bar. The bartender comes over and I tell her we're here for their Tuesday Happy Hour specials. As per their IG post tacos (ALL) are $2. So we ordered chicken, shrimp & steak. The bartender tells me the steak isn't included and is an additional charge. So I pull up the IG post which states differently. She's unaware of the post or special and has to run it by a manager. We ordered 6 tacos but 7 came out. I pointed out the extra taco she apologized and said we wouldn't be charged for it. Next I order the froze. The froze and the margarita were both juice like. Entirely too sweet for the froze and too much sour mix on the margarita. The tacos were mid, steak was tough & chicken wasn't seasoned. The check comes and we were charged the $2 for the steak taco, the 7th taco that I didn't order (the bartender was suppose to comp) was on the bill and froze that was suppose to be $2 as per the IG post was $13. I bring the price difference of the Froze to the bartenders attention and she states that the $2 froze is in a smaller cup than what she gave me. How would I know that? I showed her the IG post with specials upon placing my first order. Clearly if it's a Tuesday special and I'm ordering on a Tuesday that's why I'm ordering it. She said she would have to speak to a manager came back and said the manager wouldn't honor the $2 advertised price. I paid my bill and left. To make a social media post to gain patrons.... Patrons come specifically for said specials and then not honor them?! Such a waste of time and money. The service, food and drinks are subpar at best.
