Great pizza! Made to order, fresh pizza indeed! We sat down and dined in. It was nice and old school to do that. They had a lot of traffic that ordered to go but it was cool to sit. More people did stay and sit. Service was good. It's old school pizza vibes and we liked that! Free parking which is nice too!

It's been a while since I've been to Phil's bc we don't live around the area but because we came to opening day for the Sox, it was a must!! The service is great! The food is phenomenal and the people here are on it. Love the ambience here. It's never a dull moment - a happy crowd and a happy workers and staff working non-stop making great delicious pizza!!

This pizza place is the place to go. I love it! I usually get a medium pepperoni with extra sauce and well done and a side of fries. It's usually really good but this time my pizza was very salty. They stacked the pepperonis together so it was a little much. The fries were amazing as always! I will return because I usually order from here. It could have just been an off day today.

    Pepperoni & cheese.. so good!

Nice old school pizza parlor!!! Food was great, we had garlic bread and a medium pepperoni pizza. Service was super fast!

Holy Cannoli!!! Incredible pizza. Got a sausage giardiniera and a pepperoni onion. The quality of all ingredients was top tier. Maybe the best sausage I've had on pizza. The pepperoni was so much better than other pep and the onions sliced super thin. The crust was delectable. It's pretty dense - 2 of us didn't come close to finishing two mediums. Garlic bread was outrageously good too. Staff was really nice. Most of the other people were waiting for takeout but we enjoyed eating there very much and can't wait to go back. Wow!!

    Pepperoni Sausage Pizza to go

First time visiting the city and was recommended this place. We picked up a Pepperoni and Sausage pizza to go and ate it while stuck in traffic so I forgot to get a picture. The crust was thin and crispy but still sturdy to hold lots of toppings, had thick chunks of ground sausage throughout, and the sauce was so good! Definitely recommend trying out, my boyfriend and I completely devoured a medium size in one sitting.

Tasty tavern style pizza. Little neighborhood spot that does a huge amount of takeout orders. I'm a big fan of the special that comes with sausage, onions, mushrooms, and green pepper. When it comes in the bag you know it's gonna be good!

Two pizzas that were giving to me by mistake
    Robert P.

I called and ordered two pizzas one jumbo with pepperoni and an medium with Giardiniera and sausage, the man who answered my call repeated my order so I thought everything was fine. I get to Phil's in Bridgeport and i paid $64 for an order which I thought was mine, I get home to two jumbo pizzas one with 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 sausage and onion and another jumbo with sausage and onion. I live 30 minutes away and was pissed to see my toppings different. I called to let them know I got the wrong order and all he said was ok I'll let them know. I called the number on the receipt to let the guy know I had his order and he had mine most likely. He was pissed as well. I had already opened the pies so their was no way I'm driving back to complain. The pizza was good regardless of the toppings I did not want. Taste like Salerno's in Hodgkins

So, from the curbside entry, there is a waiting room with benches on the left and right side, and a greeting desk ahead in the center. When called, we ascended on the far left and entered the dining area. It was quite busy. We were shown a table and took our seats. We chose a classic deep dish pie and a gluten free pizza - all to share. We also ordered an Italian salad to share. Highly recommend the Italian salad. It is a chopped salad and highly flavorful and fresh. This is the first item delivered to our table. They offer a thin 12 inch GF crust, and we always try GF when available. The menu indicated that several sauces are GF. I can happily report that the pizza was quite enjoyable. The toppings were fresh and generous. The edges were crisp but the rest was soft while also not getting too mushy. The deep dish was the final food arrival at our table. The menu and waitstaff are clear about it taking around 40 minutes for the deep dish to cook. The wait was totally worth it. Also note, the 10 inch may sound small, but it's unlikely that many people would want to eat more than two slices of this at a sitting - the slices are like two inches thick! Because we had already shared salad and GF pizza - we had a lot of leftovers. Totally worth it. Now, the one hitch here - the womens restroom was beyond atrocious. I mean, diapers, pads, paper, and debris piled up and overflowing from every tiny trash bin in every stall - Add to that non- flushed messes and more mess on the fixtures and floors - And an empty paper towel dispenser. Frankly, they need a big trash barrel in there- the volume of diapers alone was too large for the available recepticals. Clearly, many menstruating folks are trying to dispose of used products, and if the teeny tiny stall mounted trash pockets are stuffed with diapers and other used items... Well. Reader, you likely see where the his is going... I cannot even fathom the reason for the rest of the mess. So, restroom hard no. Generally - if you have a business that encounters a large number of stroller folks- expect related mess and account for it. Especially in busy Chicago where strollers are obnoxiously present everywhere - just read the room!

We both shared a 10" deep dish pepperoni pizza because that is part of the Chicago experience. Initial service was fast but it took 45 minutes for the pizza. Getting our check delivered took a long time, too. This pizza was far more expensive than a Baltimore deep dish pizza but I'm assuming the prime location is why this pizza cost so much. Hubby got a soda and the total cost was $39, not including the tip. Pros: tasty deep dish. Cons: expensive and long wait. I think I would find elsewhere to eat if I'm ever back here again.
