I really wanted to write a great review about the food here, but unfortunately the delivery experience completely ruined it. I placed an Uber Eats order around 4:30 PM. Since Nonna's handles their own delivery, there's no tracking or status updates through the app. Totally fine -- except communication was nonexistent. At 5:50 PM (almost an hour and a half later), I called for an update and was told the order was already out for delivery. Thirty minutes later at 6:20, I called again and was told the driver had just left 8 minutes ago -- which directly contradicted what I'd been told earlier. Then I was put on hold for 10+ minutes, during which 4-5 different employees kept picking up the line asking how they could help, forcing me to repeat myself each time. No one seemed to know what was going on. Eventually, they said the driver had another order and I'd get my food "shortly." By that point, we were pushing two hours for a local delivery. Maybe the food is amazing, but no meal is worth this kind of wait and confusion. Poor communication, inconsistent information, and zero accountability. I won't be ordering delivery from here again, and honestly, this experience makes me hesitant to go back at all. read more

Food is good, authentic Italian was our theme, so we catered a party for 60, mixed up order entree and disappointed when the server they gave me was very slow, never replenished 4 trays once empty or even 1/2 way notice to bring out second trays ordered, until a guest asked for more eggplant some guests did not have their choice, courteously asked server to bring out trays, then it was time for dessert! Not efficient, Mina owner rude & condescending, no customer service, never again, and overpaid beyond what it's worth for the food order. read more

Then a person was rude to my husband referring to him as "boss". So I can no longer recommend this place. I hope the owner will reach out. I'm very disappointed with the service. The food was delivered spilled throughout the bag, and although the driver apologized, the condition of the order was unacceptable. This made the meal difficult to enjoy and does not reflect good customer service. I was told on the phone that I did not have to pay for my order, a personal pie and stuffed rigatoni. Another driver appeared with another order of stuffed rigatoni that was delivered with care. About 40 mins later the original driver appears and mentions that they still need me to pay for the order. I called the restaurant and after going back and forth with clueless individuals the conclusion came down to me just paying for the personal pie. The poor delivery and customer service made it easy for me to never return to this place ever again that I've visited numerous times. read more

My husband and I shared their chopped salad which is always fresh and we enjoyed their clams over linguini in white clam sauce... plentiful clams... a delicious light dinner perfect for the summer! Busy casual Italian. Bar is nice, servers friendly. Lotta different styles of pizza along with chicken rolls, sausage rolls, eggplant rolls. My only qualm is that they have all these rolls, and slices, and garlic knots etc. but they're not listed on the menu. Full bar, including a Lambrusco, which isn't usually on offer. Like to sit at the bar, but the table servers are efficient and friendly. I haven't had anything I didn't like in 4 or 5 visits. 3-1/2 stars. Good food, good service. read more

Horrible management experience with "Nino" rude, condescending, and arrogant . Long story short, placed an order through Nonna's website during normal business hours. They had closed that day unannounced and forgot to turn off their ordering system. I was charged for the order that was never received. Simple fix, just refund Nino refused to refund me, even after several conversations with his employees AND I even provided my bank statement showing the charge from his establishment. He told me to call my bank and hung up. I have been ordering from this establishment for many years and sadly because of Nino's unprofessional attitude I will NEVER again. Every time my family wants pizza we make the trek all the way across Mahwah to go to Nonnas because hands down - they have the best pizza around. Believe me, we have tried them all. None of the pizzerias in Mahwah have the consistency of Nonnas. Ingredients are fresh..the pie is always hot. It's not overly doughy like others..and the sauce service is always friendly and fast. We usually order take out and we never wait more than a few minutes. We have eaten regular dishes and stayed too..haven't had a bad meal there. They even have a full bar which is nice..some days you want an adult beverage with dinner. Their garlic knots are my fav..i could eat half a dozen by myself... We will keep coming back! read more

Ordered my kids 2 fountain soda's. They came in 12oz cups with lids, no problem. My wife ordered a ginger ale. It came in a 20 oz regular soda bottle, ok got it. I ordered a diet coke, the server brings me a 6 oz tiny bottle of soda, for a dinner !!! I asked him what's this ? I wanted a larger 20oz or larger fountain soda. He tells me that's all there is for diet coke but I could get another if I wanted more. Good thing I didn't. Fast forward, the bill comes. Nonna's charges me $4 bucks for a 6oz soda ! 4 bucks! Who even carries 6oz bottles of soda in a restaurant anyway? For dinner yet !!! I was stunned. It was literally 2 mouthfuls of soda. He would have charged me $8 if I ordered a second, FOR 12 OZ of SODA !!! Never again for Nonna's Never !!! A $4 soda for 6oz is just symbolic for the price gouging of the public that's going on today. Thank you Bidenomics, I can't believe that your administration was actually taking bows for this. Price gouging bill, credit card fees, tax. And they want you to tip 20% on top of that. What frigging gaul. PS: I called the store and complained to the manager, get this, he said I was supposed to get 2 bottles (12oz total) for the $4. Wow, must have been Prime Day at Nonna's . Hahahahaha, he was serious. Decent Italian food but nothing to rave about. The menu features all of the typical dishes you'd expect from an Italian restaurant (pizza, pasta, chicken and fish dishes, etc). However, I have yet to try anything that stands out. Tonight, I ordered the Salmon De La Nonna, which was described as grilled salmon with shrimp, artichokes, and capers in a lemon sauce. I will say, the salmon was perfectly grilled and the sauce had nice flavor. However, it came with barely any artichokes or shrimp, and the sauce consistency was very oily. In addition, it was paired with potatoes and some steamed vegetables (didn't see that included in the dish on the online menu). If given the option, I would've asked for pasta instead to soak up the sauce. In the past, I've had better luck with their pizza, so I may stick to that in the future. We usually pick up takeout from Nonna's, so I can't speak to the in-person dining experience. Typically, takeout is pretty seamless; our orders are always correct and ready on-time. read more

Just not good anymore. If I could give 0 stars I would have. We used to be regulars but the food has gone too far downhill. Our order is usually heros....chicken, spinach with cheese, eggplant parm and meatball parm. The chicken was dry to the bone. The eggplant was exceptionally dry and hard!!! with a scant amount of sauce. Even with extra sauce we ordered the eggplant was still awful. The eggplant was so thin and overfried it made the eggplant hard. Ended up thowing most it out. The meatball parm was just okay, no flavor to the meatballs. We really gave them a chance but this has happened with the last 3 orders so we are done! Such a shame. read more

I passed by this place many times as it's near my house. I decided to stop in because I love pizza on Fridays. I tried many pizzerias across New York Connecticut and New Jersey. You could say, I am a pizza aficionado. Nice little place it even has a liquor license which is pretty cool. I will try the I'll trade the next time but as far as the pizzas, a little disappointed on the size of the pizza. Looks to me like a 16-inch pie which is pretty small in retail environments. I would have been nice to see an 18in for a 20in pie where you can walk out with two slices and feel satisfied.
