We visited Noodle & Bun during Comic Con weekend. The line was long, but they were quick to seat people once a table was available. The restaurant was spacious, and they also had outdoor seating. I ordered Spicy Beef Brisket Noodle Soup. It was delicious. The brisket was tender. The noodles were freshly made and chewy. And the broth was packed with tons of flavor; it was very filling. It wasn't really spicy, so I just added more chili for more kick. My group also enjoyed the dumplings, fried rice, and edamame. The reason for the 4 stars was because of the service. We noticed that no one came to our table until we called for a server and told them we were ready to order. The groups seated after us got to place their orders before we did. And lastly, one of the cups given to us was dirty. They replaced it right away when we asked for a clean cup. Overall, I still enjoyed our visit to Noodle & Bun. The food was great, the prices were reasonable, and the portions were generous. The staff was nice, but service was okay and unorganized. Maybe they were tired since it was Comic Con weekend, and there were tons of people. I'll still come back here when I am in the area for the food

Came here for lunch during comic con weekend. We are rarely ever in the DT area but for comic con we make an exception. So glad to find Asian food walking distance as our little one is a picky eater. It took us a while to get seated as the comic con crowds were in full swing. They didn't have any kind of sign up sheet to put your name down so we had to keep track of which place we were in line based on when we got there. There was seating available inside and outside of the restaurant. Food was delicious and came out fairly quickly. The noodles were hand pulled in the kitchen (glass window so you can watch them doing this). Not too far from the convention center and prices were fair, like cheaper DT version of DTF haha.

Definitely a popular spot for lunch, dinner and late night. I tried the LAN Zhou noodle soup, spicy. Can't say that I like it as much as my local, go-to pho or ramen spots, but had a nice flavor. I added a little extra chili sauce, soy and vinegar to enhance the flavor a bit. I did like the bok choy on it.

We stayed an extra day after Comic Con to get situated and stumbled upon this place early in the morning. It looked so good, we came back after they opened. This place brings me back to the days of family trips to Chicago's China town! It's very spacious, and feels very authentic. The server was very quick and friendly, he even told us that we needed to try the noodles. Unfortunately, we were not trying to hit a food coma so early, and ended up getting the juicy dumplings, scallion pancakes and spicy beef shank. The beef was my favorite, as it was chilled, but flavorful, which was perfect for the hot weather. I will definitely be coming back here next year!

After eating Mexican food for days, we needed a change up. Both soups were delicious. The broth of the first one is a little less dense while the second one, is more deep/flavorful. The quantity and quality of the meat in the soups were also generous. The hand pulled noodles were perfectly chewy and the cucumbers were a nice cool addition to our warm soups. Our waiter was friendly and helpful and the place was large/big enough for me to bring in/park my daughter's stroller. It's a nice place for larger groups to be accommodated. Will come back here to try some of their other dishes such as their soup dumplings and etc...

Even with all the great dining options in the Gaslamp Quarter, we still couldn't pass up on trying a new Asian noodle place while visiting the area. Inside, the restaurant was very clean and quite spacious, with seating for 60 plus guests, and there was also an outdoor seating area for 20 more. Through the open kitchen glass, we could see the staff making the noodles, assuring their freshness and handcraftsmanship. The friendly staff guided us to our table and brought the menu and water right away. The huge menu poster on the front glass window helped us to decide what to get before entering the restaurant, and we ordered the following dishes: Wonton Soup with Added Knife Shaved Noodles: The clear broth was light yet savory, blending with a subtle aroma of green onion and cilantro. The handmade noodles were cooked perfectly with a slightly firm texture. The wontons had delicate wraps and were well seasoned, while the seaweed and shredded eggs added extra flavor. Special Chow Mein Combo with Knife Shaved Noodles: The sauce was umami sweet and not too greasy. The knife shaved noodles were beautifully sauteed and retained their slightly chewy texture. The sliced beef pieces were tender and well blended with shrimps and ham pieces. A nice culinary find in an unexpected place. Highly recommended.

Don't go here unless you want to come back another day to try more of the menu. . . Stopped by here during comic-con Nice restaurant for hand pulled noodles and dumplings. Staff is SUPER friendly and attentive. Restaurant was very clean and inviting. You could go here for the staff alone, but the food is also delicious. We had multiple dishes, edamame, vegetable chow mein, Dan Dan noodles, spicy wonton, scallions pancakes, steamed buns. Prices were very reasonable, under $100 for 4 people with tax and tip. Highly recommend for the excellent food and service

I came here for lunch and for their cucumber salad and combo fried rice. It was absolutely amazing! The cucumber salad does have garlic so warning but it was so fresh and crunchy. Service was also amazing!

We walked by and saw the restaurant so we stopped in. It was a large restaurant and you could see the food being prepared through the glass windows. I could see the guy making homemade noodles The ordering was simple and easy. We ordered the Special fried rice with chicken. It was really tasty, fresh and not greasy. The service was good, although we had to ask for more than one spoon, chopsticks and condiments.

Definitely a great add to the gaslamp scene! We got early dinner here before a show and such great food! The service was friendly and fast. There was alot of seating as well. They also have an open kitchen where you can see the workers made the noodles. I got the spicy beef noodle. You have different options of different type of noodles. (Hand pulled, Knife shaved, or wide noodles). I got the knife shaved noodles which were amazing. They had a nice chew and was a great vessel for the broth. The portion sizes were also generous. The beef was super tender as well. Highly recommend checking this place out if your in the area!

Stopped by for some quick lunch during the week and I was pleasantly surprised to see a decent amount of people eating here. We were seated immediately and got our food within 10 minutes of ordering. Inside is casual and you can see the workers in the back making the hand-pulled noodles. We started with the scallion pancake which came with 8 piece (4 pieces stacked on top) which was a really good deal. Flavorwise they were good but I wish texturally they were more crispy. The Shanghai juicy dumplings were really good and the meat was very flavorful. Lastly, the Spicy Beef Brisket Noodle Soup was the star of the show. The beef was extremely tender and the hand-pulled noodles were nice and chewy. One thing that I also really appreciated were the reasonable prices. I don't venture to this area of downtown too often for food, but I can confidently say that Noodle & Bun is one of those awesome gems that might seem like a tourist trap due to it's location, but it's really good!

Spicy wontons and spicy beef brisket hand pulled noodles
    Jenny Z.

We visited over the weekend. The space is quite large and was relatively empty, with just a few other tables seated. The service was efficient; our orders were taken right away, water was served, and the food came out quickly. We tried the spicy wontons after seeing reviews comparing them to Din Tai Fung's. Since those are a personal favorite, I was skeptical, but the flavor was surprisingly close. The sauce is slightly sweeter and not a 1:1, but it is delicious and offered at a great price point. We also ordered the spicy beef brisket noodle soup with hand-pulled noodles. It was a solid, filling meal with a flavorful broth and a generous amount of brisket. The only downside was that our bowl had a lot of the fattier cuts of meat. This is a great addition to the Gaslamp area for a warm, comforting meal, and we will definitely be back.

At first, she said the order only could be done on 1 bill. And then later she compromised with 2 bills, 5 people per table. That was nice of her! I just had 2 coffees before entering so I decided to skip ordering Thai tea. But they had a large drink menu, of fruit teas and more. My friend had the lychee tea which was very large and looked super refreshing! They also came by often to top off our waters which was nice. To eat, I ordered the $16.99~, Cashew Chicken Stir Fry with White Rice. It came with onion, green onion, carrots, zucchini, bell pepper, and cashews. The carrots were beautifully cut, but a little too crunchy for me to properly enjoy in the stir fry. Everything else was delicious! I think this could definitely be shared between 2-3 people. It was a lot for me, even after a large hike. The sauce was flavorful and not overly salty. I didn't ask for any spice level, but I think I'd choose mild or medium next time. My friends ordered-- - $12.99, Dirty Fried Chicken: This had a blitz coating of lime, mint, and spices. And it was decorated with thinly sliced green onions with a side of sweet chili sauce. The chicken was hot and plump, not dry, and very much mouthwatering! Would recommend. - $14.99, Thai Grilled Chicken Salad: Grilled Chicken Breast on a bed of mixed green salad, carrots, and cucumbers with peanut dressing. It reminded me a little of chicken satay~ it smelled and looked incredible. I think I might order it next time, when I want something light and fulfilling after a hike. - $11.99, Cream Cheese Avocado Wontons (6PC): These came out piping hot and when you took a bite they were oozing. It was very creamy and when you dip into the plum sauce it's a delectable bite. A nice appetizer to share with the table. - $16.99-$19.99 (depends on what protein you get), Pad Thai: This proportion was manageable for one person. The restaurant used thin rice noodles, but it didn't clump excessively compared to other restaurants. The prices are what you'd typically see at a Pan-Asian restaurant, a few dollars more than what you'd want to spend. But these kinds of restaurants, in my opinion, are for enjoying with others. So, if you're sharing food and all that-- the price is worth it (esp with the quantity that is given). Next time, I would probably order one of their noodle dishes rather than rice. Oodles by the Noodbar has such a large and diverse menu so I would highly recommend coming in to try them out.

The one thing I did not care for was the dipping sauce. I believe the menu said it was a peanut sauce but I was personally not a fan. It tasted more like a coconut curry sauce.
