    Wonton & dumpling noodle soup
    Ann H.

The wonton noodle soup here is so bomb! The wontons taste freshly wrapped and the egg noodle is perfectly al dente. The chow fun noodle is done perfectly as well- not soggy like many other places I've tried. I do think they can use less salt on the meat but overall still very tasty. I am also glad to see they serve rice porridge in addition to rice and noodles. The service is attentive and they check on you often. The restaurant itself isn't particularly large or themed but is clean and welcoming. Overall a very solid spot for a good meal

Special Coco Jelly. Amazingly delicious. They take milk from the coconut, make a custard-like jelly and pour it back in. YUM!!!

I love, love, love TKN! There are so many great Vietnamese and Chinese restaurants around Mira Mesa but I always find myself at Tim Ky. My absolute favorite dishes are the Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings, the Pork and Dumpling Soup and the Crispy Noodle with Beef (bird's nest I call it). Sometimes I get the whole coconut for dessert. Oh my goodness, I get cravings for this one! It's no nonsense food. Consistently delicious and pretty quick. We usually go after church on a Sunday. It's pretty busy with families, which I love. It shows their dedication to being a family restaurant. It's always clean inside and the servers do a great job. Thank you TKN!

Everything we had was delicious! Have you had the seafood fried rice; our friend had the beef and asparagus stir-fry; and I had the steamed swai with ginger and bok choy. The restaurant is light and bright with plenty of seating and service was prompt. We highly recommend this place if you like Asian fusion style dishes as well as traditional Vietnamese food.

My friend who have been helping me with my haircut for many years recommended Tim Ky Noodle. I was advised to order the salted fish fried rice along with the dry noodles separately from the wonton soup. I took his advice and found ourselves in the restaurant. We were seated right away and ordered exactly the salted fried rice and the noodles. We definitely love the fried rice and the salted fish with it, which reminds me of the "tuyo," made of salted herring or sardine, growing up in the Philippines. The wonton noodle was good. We also munch on the sweetened chili peppers and surely enhanced the quality of our meals. The place was clean and the food was good although I would suggest the servers could be a little more friendly.

Shrimp chow fun dry and fresh spring roll

I love this place, I come here often and it's my easy to go to spot for a good noodle or rice dish. Today I did the chow fun dry with shrimp and a fresh spring roll. Simple and filling meal to hit that mid day lunch crunch. I was pressed for time so I didn't get my sparkling lemonade soda but there's always another time for it. The restaurant is always kept clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. Service can be slow if you come in during a busy lunch time or dinner time but they try to stay attentive to you and your needs. This is a small family business, they do their best and the good is always top notch.

One of the best places for egg noodles soup. Its gotten pricier but I suppose other places too. Service is hit or miss. Either they're paying attention to you or not. Its very small inside. Its a typical hole in the wall mom and pops with great tasting food.

It's becoming a bit of tradition for my family to stop Tim Ky for lunch on Thanksgiving or Christmas Day. We're happy they're open and serving delicious food. The wonton and dumpling soup with thin egg noodles is my go to, and I love a strong cup of Vietnamese iced coffee. We were lucky to be seated immediately as they had a waiting list outside. Service is quick.

The fact that I've been eating here for over 10 years & haven't left a review is insane. I always get their wonton soup with half egg noodles and half rice noodles. My kids love their wonton soup too, & they're very picky eaters! I've also had their bird's nest dish (crispy noodles) with vegetables & it's solid. If it was fried, I would eat it every other day. The service is fast and ambiance is very casual. The place is clean & spacious. The parking lot has plenty space except during peak hours. Love coming here & will continue to do.

Located in the same plaza as lucky seafood, navy fed, aldi, and valerio's. All the way in the corner. If there's no parking in front, there is usually parking in the back. Service is decent, waitress/waiters are nice. It's a pretty small space, but can actually fit quite a bit of people. Mainly small tables. There is a restroom for customers. We always get the young chow fried rice and dry wonton dumpling noodle soup. My Husband also likes their duck noodle soup, chicken wings, and turnip cakes w/ eggs. Turnip cake is like a comfort food for me, feels nostalgic. Also have had the beef satay, but it is a bit watered down. Would enjoy more if it was a thicker consistency. The dishes are pretty flavorful and tasty. I like how you can customize your noodle soup with either rice or egg noodles or half and half and make it dry or wet. We enjoy dry, as you are given a side of soup and a sauce flavor to enhance the flavor of the dry noodles. You pretty much get the best of both worlds. They have this new fluffy coffee which is like those egg coffees but very light with a lot of oat milk and a maybe no egg, haha. For only $3 a cup though, we have been ordering it every time with our meal. They also do have the traditional Vietnamese coffee and right now there's a new years special and it's also only $3. We regular this place pretty often, mainly to-go, highly recommend!

Omg, the food was delish. Can't rave enough of the simple preparation but so, so delish!

I been craving salted fish fried rice and I had to try the one with shrimp. Came with big pieces of shrimp and the salty fish flavor was perfect. If you like spice, definitely try the chopped green peppers where all the condiments are on the table. The salt and pepper pork chops were so fatty, tender, and crunchy + paired well with the green pepper & that broth also pictured. That dish was great too but I can't remember the name. Slight sweetness in the meats inside, great glass noodles, and the broth tasted like it was chicken. Delicious lunch and I wish I didn't live far from here!!! Clean restaurant, efficient & quick service.

    Yes you can!!

What kind of meat is used to make the broth?

I’m not sure. It’s clear broth, I’m thinking it’s some sort of stock. Simple tasting like a chicken based.

We also ordered the garlic green beans, but they came out so late that we were already completely full from the noodles, so we took them to go. The new-new nood bar called Hom Mali. - FOOD: delicious - PRICE: fair (their website shows outdated and cheaper prices) - SERVICE: good - AMBIANCE: nice updated esthetics It's been awhile since I've ate here and the last time I did it was just The Nood Bar now known as Hom Mali but still shows as The Nood Bar. They updated their decor and like it much better with its refreshing white and green interior giving south-east Asian vibes. The menu has quite a lot of good offerings it was hard to decide but feel not matter what you order here it's going to be delicious and authentic. They did keep several items from The Nood Bar! :: ORDER :: RED GUAVA ICE TEA ($5.95) - Oh my goodness, so yummy and refreshing. I'd say the caffeine level is very light on this one and I am ok with that. After stuffing my face I took a nice nap for someone who is caffeine sensitive. HIGHLY RECOMMEND GARLIC BUTTER NOODLES {$20.95) - Grilled lemongrass-marinated pork shoulder served over steamed soba noodles tossed with soy sauce, fried garlic, garlic oil, and butter alongside steamed botchy, finished with cilantro and a side of plum sauce. THIS WAS SO FLAVORFUL and yummy. I don't often eat garlic butter noodles so any garlic butter noodle is delicious to me. I did NOT see any fried garlic in my meal and felt it was only garlic oil that was present with the garlic profiles. The noodles were very garlic-y and butter-y. The pork shoulder was also perfectly marinated and dipping it in the plum sauce which was a mix of sweet and tangy paired well with the marination of the meat and butter-ness of the noods. It also came with ONE bakchoy sliced in half to appear as two. And I wish they some how incorporated the cilantro and carrots more into the dish instead of garnish to give some more herbal flavor. Even though, this dish was spot on. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Service was great! Did feel awkward when they handed me the machine to tap my card and leave a tip... they stood there watching you press the buttons. No being discreet picking up plates or looking away... just looking right at you. I know it's a thing with many restaurants now but it's awkward and don't feel like I have privacy. I will def be back! So many yummy dishes on the menu to try. Until the next slurp....

At first, she said the order only could be done on 1 bill. And then later she compromised with 2 bills, 5 people per table. That was nice of her! I just had 2 coffees before entering so I decided to skip ordering Thai tea. But they had a large drink menu, of fruit teas and more. My friend had the lychee tea which was very large and looked super refreshing! They also came by often to top off our waters which was nice. To eat, I ordered the $16.99~, Cashew Chicken Stir Fry with White Rice. It came with onion, green onion, carrots, zucchini, bell pepper, and cashews. The carrots were beautifully cut, but a little too crunchy for me to properly enjoy in the stir fry. Everything else was delicious! I think this could definitely be shared between 2-3 people. It was a lot for me, even after a large hike. The sauce was flavorful and not overly salty. I didn't ask for any spice level, but I think I'd choose mild or medium next time. My friends ordered-- - $12.99, Dirty Fried Chicken: This had a blitz coating of lime, mint, and spices. And it was decorated with thinly sliced green onions with a side of sweet chili sauce. The chicken was hot and plump, not dry, and very much mouthwatering! Would recommend. - $14.99, Thai Grilled Chicken Salad: Grilled Chicken Breast on a bed of mixed green salad, carrots, and cucumbers with peanut dressing. It reminded me a little of chicken satay~ it smelled and looked incredible. I think I might order it next time, when I want something light and fulfilling after a hike. - $11.99, Cream Cheese Avocado Wontons (6PC): These came out piping hot and when you took a bite they were oozing. It was very creamy and when you dip into the plum sauce it's a delectable bite. A nice appetizer to share with the table. - $16.99-$19.99 (depends on what protein you get), Pad Thai: This proportion was manageable for one person. The restaurant used thin rice noodles, but it didn't clump excessively compared to other restaurants. The prices are what you'd typically see at a Pan-Asian restaurant, a few dollars more than what you'd want to spend. But these kinds of restaurants, in my opinion, are for enjoying with others. So, if you're sharing food and all that-- the price is worth it (esp with the quantity that is given). Next time, I would probably order one of their noodle dishes rather than rice.
