Homey comfort noodle soups. Regulars are the norm here. C5 - BRAISED PORK TROTTERS & BEEF BRISKET LO MEIN, BABY BOK CHOI, GREEN ONION GARNISH. Accompanied w/bowl of the house broth. The broth was okay but a bit too much white pepper for me. And I like white pepper. Flavors were meh but both pork trotters and beef brisket could have been more tender. Especially the pork trotters. Their HOUSEMADE CHILI OIL saved the day! A23 - GREEN ONION PANCAKES (葱油饼) - This was light, nice and crispy, not too oily. Tasty but not sure housemade. LO PAU BEI (SWEETHEART CAKE 老婆饼) - Not sure if they offer this regularly but looked good and fresh. Fillings were TRADITIONAL WINTER MELON, COCONUT, CHESTNUT, UBE, RED BEAN, SESAME. Took home two each of TRADITIONAL WINTER MELON, COCONUT, UBE! If in the neighborhood, I'd do a return visit for their variety of fresh noodles alone and other combos. P.S. I did take home some of that HOUSEMADE CHILI OIL!
Came here to warm up with some hot soup after a cold round of golf. Everyone wanted something hot to eat. This is in our neighborhood Sunset District but have never tried Noodle Stop. It is a nice casual restaurant. Menu is very extensive and took us awhile to go through all the choices. They have a Monday-Friday before 2:30 pm special combo which includes 1 hot drink. Many noodle options to choose from too. The ambiance is typical no thrills but clean. Customer service was good and they put tables together for the 7 of us. They kept refilling our hot tea too. It was not crowded as it was a little late for lunch and they never rushed us out either. I only took pictures of my order of Combo C4 Minced Pork with Rice Noodle and A1 Hong Kong Style Won Ton Noodle Soup. I took a picture of the dish next to me, but not sure exactly what it was on the menu, but she said it was good. Everyone ordered the small portions since it was so late for lunch but everything came out piping hot and it was enough to fill you up. They sell their homemade hot sauce and we got to try some served with our order. It's is definitely very HOT! Overall food was good, service was good, prices are decent. We all enjoyed the food and just might be back again since the menu is so extensive.
Neighborhood restaurant serving comfort Cantonese somewhat fast food. Has weekday lunch specials. We had the: - Combo C: Fish Jook with Chinese Fried Doughnut. $2 off regular hour prices. Had better fish (has skin) and tastier Jook elsewhere. Dip the doughnut in the Jook / Porridge for contrast, crunchy doughnut and smooth soupy Jook. - Combo D:! Beef Stew Rice Roll with Milk Tea, also $2 lower than during regular hours. Not much stew but braised meat was nice and soft. - Beef Curry over Noodles, spicy... Restaurant is a version of Cantonese fast food. Also has desserts. Old school 60s ambiance, blue collar vibe with inexpensive food. Not the highest in quality but good for the price.
As always, we couldn't decide where to eat, so we just parked the car on Noriega and walked around, hoping something would pique our interest. We landed at Noodle Stop, a hole-in-the-wall, no frills joint. We've been here before, but it looks as if the menu has expanded. It used to be a simple and limited menu. We were able to grab a table on a Friday night at about 6 pm. Service is fast and efficient. GAI LAN WITH OYSTER SAUCE ~ A bit overcooked, so the texture was soft. They gave us a dish of oyster sauce on the side. 3/5 BRAISED DUCK LEG WONTON THICK NOODLE SOUP ~ My guy ordered this. It was in a slightly spicy curry-type broth with wide egg noodles, which were overcooked and soggy! The duck leg wasn't large enough to be the star of the show. The majority of what was in the bowl was soggy noodles. They are generous with their offering, but execution needs improvement. 2.5/5 STEWED BEEF BRISKET WITH PORK FEET GUILIN RICE NOODLE SOUP ~ This was my dish. The guilin noodles were cooked just right, and the beef brisket and pork feet were tender and flavorful. It was on point and perfect for SF's chilly evening weather. (Just a note for those who are allergic to peanuts, they are added to the Guilin noodle soup bowls.) 4/5 PORK INTESTINE GUILIN RICE NOODLE SOUP ~ My friend ordered this, and I tried a bit of the pork intestine as I've never had it before. It has an acquired flavor and taste! Eating one was okay, but I don't think I could eat a whole bowl of it! It had a good chewy texture, but I wasn't used to the taste. He liked it, so that's all that mattered. 4/5 Some dishes were cooked perfectly, while others were overcooked. There is only one chef in the kitchen, so when there are many orders to fill and not enough assistance, food doesn't turn out as it should. With a name like Noodle Stop, your noodles need to be cooked perfectly! Hit or miss with that one!
Stopped by this small noodle shop one night after picking up a friend from the airport. Even after 9:00 PM, they had a good amount of seating available and a relaxed, quiet atmosphere. I ordered the Seafood Lo Mein, which was a generous spread--it came with veggies, fried calamari, shrimp, a seafood cake, and a side of soup. Everything was very tasty (or maybe I was just starving? Hehe though I'm pretty sure it was just great food!). The service was excellent; the staff members were incredibly kind. I also really loved the vibe of the place, especially the butterfly wall and the street sign decor. I'll definitely be back to try the Curry Duck Leg Soup next time!
Came to Noodle Stop and was really impressed with their Guilin noodle soup. The portion was huge, and there were plenty of toppings, which made it feel very worth it. I really enjoyed the noodles and would definitely recommend giving them a try. There's a good amount of seating in the restaurant, and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time.
It's like I'm dining in Hong Kong Wow these noodles really brought me back to my HK trip. Okay here goes, I highly recommend their Cantonese Style number 9, wonton noodles which has different wontons with abalone, crab, and shrimp. It was super fresh and Hella good. But let's get to the star of the show, tge hot sauce and potstickers. When the lady asked me if I wanted 4 or 10, I quickly said 10 thinking if I didn't finish it, I could air fry them later. The potstickers didn't even make it past 5 minutes. I ate them ALL. Super fresh and crispy and with that sauce, the bomb! It was gone in a flash. My coworker's beef intestine and pig feet soup looked intense. Everything was great and we are sooo addicted to the hot sauce and their pot stickers. We bought 2 batches to go and the chili sauce. That's how good it was.
The chicken wings had a hint of curry flavor, they were juicy and crispy. The only odd thing was we asked for garlic fries to substitute the regular and they said No! But why? We even said we would pay extra. Well I would come back to try other dishes. Other peoples soup noodles looked good.
New hours, new specials menu and time. Seems like business is slower during the week reflected in their new business hours. No frills, Hong Kong spot. Wonton, jook, and milk tea are all tasty. Service is pretty standard Chinese place.
Never so angry. Wonton is not cooked. Soup is hot but wonton is lukewarm. We were hungry so just have to eat only the wonton skin. Split out all pork filling. This shop need to be retrain all staff about food safety. Teenager can boil dumplings and at lease cook it through in water. Horrible. Never again! Bathroom is clean and service is good. Hence 2 stars.
Came here to try a new noodle spot with friends!! The ambiance is nice and cozy, and the service is great as well! We ordered our food and drinks pretty quickly, and they came to our table relatively fast too. We got the curry duck noodle, "noodle stop" seafood noodle, and savory rice noodles with peanut sauce! The food was delicious, and the portions were so big! My favorite dish had to be the seafood noodle - the shrimp, calamari, and dumplings were friend on top of the egg noodles, and they give you soup on the side that you pour into the dish yourself! My friend got the hot milk tea and I got the hot honey lemonade, and we both loved our drinks! The hot honey lemonade was definitely on the sweeter side, but it was very good nonetheless. Overall, this was a great noodle spot to stop by and eat - complete with both noodles and hong-Kong style drinks :)
Great, no frills wonton noodle shop in the sunset district, I stumbled upon a lunch spot with friends on a random Saturday. The menu is very extensive, but id stick with the Cantonese style noodle soups here. Most people here ordered the wonton noodle soup and rice noodle rolls. I ordered a hot soymilk which could've been warmer, it felt like they just microwaved the cup so not sure how fresh the soymilk actually was. Rice noodles were just ok, and the broth could've had a bit more flavor. Service for HK style cafe was not bad and pretty attentive

Chilly day and hubs wanted noodle soup. Haven't been here since the change from Wonton House. It was busy during our visit, but we were able to snag a table. Started with the garlic fries - arrived hot and crispy. Yum! Hubs ordered the Braised Beef soup with thick egg noodles, and he really enjoyed the bowl of noodles. I went with the Braised beef rice noodle roll claypot - another good dish. Also ordered the hot sesame paste. I liked that it had a pudding-like consistency, and it had just the right amount of sweetness. Served warm, so it was good on this chilly day. Looks like they also make their own pastries in-house with various fillings - will have to give them a try next time. read more

I was sad to see the old Won Ton House go, but I'm happy to see that the noodle stop has taken its place and is doing a good job. We ordered the combination noodle soup and the beef noodle soup. Both tasty and had their own unique flavors. Make sure you add their chili in the soup in you can handle a bit of spice. Probably my favorite part of the entire meal. The service was quick, efficient and friendly. It was nice to hear old Cantonese music like Beyond playing in the background. I am definitely coming back! Also I would definitely recommend trying their home made dessert wife cakes, which is made in house along with their chili sauce. We liked it so much that we took some home :) read more
More like a 3.5 stars. This restaurant offers tons of noodles dishes that are actually pretty pricey. A bowl of won ton soup starts from $16 and tbh, there are many other restaurants in the Sunset with much less $$. Ambiance: Typical neighborhood friendly Chinese restaurant. Can be super loud inside but there's something about watching and hearing people eat their noodles that make you want to devour yours.... Service: We got our food pretty quickly and the server accommodated us when we asked to move to a different table. Food: Wonton soup with 5 seafood wontons: Broth was bland but adding in the chili helped greatly. Noodles also almost had no flavor but the wontons were unique and tasted great. Seafood lo mein: Get this. Seafood in this dish tasted amazing but had the same problems with the broth and noodles. They also offer $1 coffee milk tea for dine-in and $2 for take-out! read more

Brought my parents here on a weekday. It's a casual spot. We were seated right away. I ordered some pig trotters for mom, beef tripe for dad, and a bowl of rice porridge with fish for them to share. Per the waitress' recommendation, I ordered a Guilin noodles with beef sirloin, beef tendons, beef balls and fish balls for myself, and tagged on a HK milk tea also. Those were some of my parents' favorite dishes and they enjoyed them so much that they had returned to the Noodle Stop a week after. My Guilin noodles dish was pretty decent too and a good size; HK milk tea was not as strong as I like it, so I'd skip that next time. Service was good, and I especially appreciated the waitress who took extra care to ensure my parents had what they needed. The Noodle Shop is a great neighborhood dine-in or to-go spot for casual meals. read more

I find that it's so cool that there's a noodle restaurant that's open until 1am. You usually don't get these kinds of places in the Bay Area so this was a nice treat. We came on a chilly night and we were craving noodle soups, so Noodle Stop was on the list. I got the fried tofu appetizer, and we got the beef brisket soup and pork noodle soups. Good flavor and good portions for your bowl of noodle soups. I thought this place was pretty good for what it is. The tofu was light and crispy on the outside and the tofu was super soft on the inside. The skin was okay to but the seasonings were pretty good. To be fair, the noodle soups could be a tad bit more flavorful but it's not bad at all. If you're craving something late at night this is a good spot to come to. read more

Wandered into this joint because it's open earlier than the others for savory Chinese food. The first page of the menu has a set breakfast menu with drinks at $9.99, so I ordered a fish ball noodle soup and a hot HK milk tea. Unfortunately, the fish balls were really bland and quite tasteless, but the broth veggies and noodles were ok. My daughter ordered a crispy chicken with rice dish and enjoyed it with hot honey lemonade. Service was fine. Simple & basic ambiance. Even though it had been quite a while since I'd been back, I was pretty bummed when I heard that Won Ton House had shuttered its doors. The food wasn't the greatest, save for their curry potstickers which they always seemed to run out of, but it was a familiar refuge that was never busy and stayed open late. Which, given the dearth of late night options in the Sunset, was a huge draw! Suffice to say I was pretty stoked to pass by late one night and see that Noodle Stop was open just as late as their predecessors. In fact, it was for almost that reason alone that I felt compelled to come check them out! Well, that and to see if they just might have those elusive curry potstickers that I miss so much (spoiler alert: they don't) Now, if you've ever been to Won Ton House, the inside of Noodle Stop will look all too familiar (only the cups and dishes look different). The concept of their food is fairly similar as well, focusing heavily on noodle dishes, but the menu is a bit more extensive and varied. In addition to many of the same same sorts of wonton noodle soups, dry noodles, porridges, and sides, Noodle Stop offers a lightly different range of rice plates, as well as guilin noodles, curry dishes, rice noodles, and desserts. One non-food thing that I really like about Noodle Stop, in addition to their late hours (open until 1am!) is how friendly one of the workers is. I'm not sure if she is the owner (seems like it), but I've seen her almost every time I've been here and she is super nice. Which is actually why I feel a little bad for rounding down from THREE AND A HALF STARS. it's just that, given how the dishes I've tried have stretched from awesome to far less than awesome, it's hard not to land in the middle. Great spot, they have a very extensive menu with rice, dry noodle, soup noodle and weekday lunch special offerings. Personally I love the Lanzhou beef noodle soup, it's got a clean clear broth that you can order spicy or add spice, soy sauce, vinegar or whatever you personally like to dress it up. Returning to the restaurant for more Hong Kong cafe favorites. We especially like the beef briskets, slow-cooked to perfection. I can do without the rolled rice noodles and just eat the meat. read more
Casual Hong Kong Style Cafe specializing in noodles, won ton with different fillings and curry or stewed rice plates. In this quiet little corner of the Outer Sunset just down the street from the busy intersection of Noriega at 19th Avenue, you'll find two blocks filled with lots of little mom 'n pop restaurants like this one. Tons of angled spaces with meter parking out in front. Inside Noodle Stop, the best tables are near the front along the plate glass windows which have their own little cozy "nooks" for a modicum of semi privacy away from everyone else. On the menu, you won't find much fried stuff like chow mein or chow fun (fried wide rice noodles), as most everything from the menu here is either stewed or boiled. Odd exceptions to this include garlic fries and calamari, and the excellent selection of baked goods right there when you walk in. Items we ordered: Sweetheart/Wife Cakes 5.0/5! Excellent!! Tender flaky cookie-like pastries filled with melon paste. We have tried a lot of these from different places but these are arguably better than some fancier bakeries down the Peninsula.. We will come back for that! Gai Lan Veggies (4.0/5): Big pieces perfectly braised. Cooked perfectly, served with oyster sauce one the side. On point! Won Ton with Braised Beef Brisket (3.7/5) : 7 pieces of average to smallish won ton filled with shrimp and pork served with mostly tender beef brisket and some chewy tendons in broth. Dumpling Soup / Sui Gao: (Dumplings with chive and pork filling) (3/5): Think won tons, but bigger. Imagine pot stickers boiled and served in a chicken broth. Bingo... but the flavor of the chives overwhelmed the pork. "Spicy Curry Chicken with Rice" (2.1/5): You get a deep bowl of curry chicken, carrots and potatoes with a bowl of white rice on the side. Unlike most HK curry renditions, this one has a stronger kick to it, but is more of a curry soup, as it is a thin broth instead of a sauce. Sauce, IMHO would have been better. The white meat chicken was mostly tough, sad to say. If you must order this, get it with noodles. Onion Pancakes (2.0/5) - Imagine a flour tortilla with bits of onion in it, pan seared like a quesadilla! Kind of doughy, a smidge undercooked and sadly a bit on the bland side. I want to like Noodle Stop, but other than the sweetheart/wife cakes the other offerings weren't really our taste. Others seem to like it though! POSITIVES: That said, The service is fast and efficient once you flag them down and the "sweetheart cakes" are 5.0/5.0! We'll be back for those! read more

I've been looking around for a new spot for some different tasty food and this place did not disappoint! Service was very fast! I ordered the Entrails Lo Mein and it was pretty tasty, the name might be intimidating but it was accessible and good. I also ordered the Veggie Egg Rolls, also quite good, especially for the price. It doesn't have a lot of decor but it smells yummy inside so IMO that makes up for it. Defo give it a try! read more

You can get all kinds of Chinese noodles from this place. They are authentic with reasonable price. Credit card is accepted and service is good. They are super busy during weekends. If you never try their Guilin rice noodles, I recommend you to order one next time. You will not be disappointed. read more

Happy entrails to you, Until our bowels cut loose. Happy entrails to you, Keep smiling until then. Entrails get such a bad rap, don't you think? I mean, after all, in Mexico, they make huge pots of soup filled with tripe and call it menudo. So why can't a Hong Kong-style cafe like Noodle Stop serve a rice plate with entrails? Sign me up as they have other temptations like stewed beef brisket, chicken curry, and spicy minced pork. They even have jook with donuts. So naturally I ordered the $13 Beef Entrails with Rice which offered plenty of innards, a sampling of their brisket, sautéed greens, and a huge scoop of rice to sop it all up (photo: https://bit.ly/3LaEKW8). It came with a cup of light beef stock, and I found it all quite comforting. The place was empty except for one regular whose obsession with entrails certainly dwarfed mine. Glad I'm not the only one. Came early in the morning so service was quick and the restaurant was empty. The physical menu does not many pictures of the food item, so I would recommend looking on here for picture references. Thin egg noodles for both soups. Hong Kong Style Wonton Soup: 4/5 * Shrimp wontons were really good. The shrimp was sweet. Beef Brisket Soup: 3.5/5 * Parts of the brisket was very good, but there was a lot of tendon which my partner did not prefer. The broth was also a bit bland. Pan-fried Potstickers: 3/5 read more
Tried Noodle Stop for a few deliveries. I ordered mostly snack foods but I also tried their beef entrails because I think that's one of their specialties. The pan fried green onion pancakes we had were crispy and slightly chewy. Yum. I also like the mix sauce with rice noodle rolls. The beef entrails we got was mostly all beef tripes, and since I like tripe, all good, but you may be disappointed if you are looking for more variety of entrails. Doordash delivery. I got the Stewed Beef Brisket with Rice Noodle Roll. It's a shame - the brisket and what little broth they give you taste delicious, but the meat is more than half fat and gristle. The cheesecake of all things is very light and tasty. read more

Yes, i saw the picture of the noodle dish on yelp and i had to go. I'm crazy for rice rolls and stewed beef brisket. It was only $11. No doggy bag, take home but i was stuffed. Add $1 HK tea and water. It was tasty beef brisket. It was piping hot in a metal bowl. I ate everything and the little broth. It might not be much, but it was enough. The beef brisket was cut in cubes. Great service. I saw them selling more take outs around 5:30 pm. read more

Came here for lunch. The curry brisket had a lot of brisket. I got the Ho fun. The curry was a little on the spicy side. My hubby got the shrimp won ton soup - and the large won ton was stuffed with shrimp and very hearty. read more

Just for the fact that this place reminds me so much of my childhood favorites! I already am in love. The venue is clean and smells amazing. With the uncles talking about random business and today's news to the aunties gossiping about their friends, I definitely feel at home. The broth alone was perfect for me not too salty and the chili condiment help so much to add that heat and garlic flavor I love. The meat was stewed perfectly and was very tender and hot. For the wontons they very tasty and generous with the filling, they didn't fall apart. Service was great, the servers even let us know a special for veggies! Order the stewed pork fee noodles soup over the phone, the order was ready in 15 mins. It comes with 3 bowl, one for the noodles, one for the soup and the last one for the pork feet. I sip the noodles soup first, it barely has any flavor in it. Then i tried the pork feet, it's soft but it doesn't taste good at all. It cost around $13.5 for the meal and it only comes with 3 pieces of pork feet which is a bit pricy. I dont know about other dishes but I would not order the stewed pork feet again. Lol read more
