The giblets in the pho ga tasted not fit to eat or had a strange texture. Some were ok, but I had to spit out a lot. Flavors of the pho and dipping sauce were not Vietnamese, the broth was not flavorful. Resturant servers were Cantonese so do not order pho get noodles or rice instead. Two things happened. Random find and friend recalls this restaurant as a place to try. We had ended up having a late lunch bite. We went here for lunch on a rainy Sunday afternoon and this place was so cold. They clearly don't have any central heating or decided to not turn it on. Unfortunately we had a bad experience. The meal I ordered never came out and the server tried to cover up saying that it was on its way when everyone else who ordered at my table already got their bowls. Totally worth the wait! If you're craving chicken pho on a cold day this is definitely the spot. The broth is full of flavor and the portion is quite generous. The noodles are the thicker silver rice noodles which makes for an even comfier soothing bowl of noodles. The bun rieu has good shrimp flavor and comes with a good amount of toppings. Cute little spot in the Sunset that serves Vietnamese food. There's a decent amount of seating and a lot of families come to eat here. I got a pho ga which tastes quite similar to a Turtle Tower dupe if you're ever in the mood for something home-y and comforting. I came here with my family for a simple birthday dinner. It was my first time here and I was a bit nervous about the food, but I was pleasantly surprised how good it was! I ordered their #19, bun bo hue. I liked it, but was disappointed on how inconsistent it was in the spice level. Several of us ordered the BBH and you could tell each bowl had a different spice level from the red flakes and spicy oil amounts in each bowl. It has a good amount of blood jelly in it, so that was a plus! Service was great! They were very accommodating with the kids by offering them water right away instead of tea, which were for the adults. They also allowed us to order a plain pho without any garnish for the children along with small bowls with plastic utensils. The interior kind of has a hole in the wall vibe to it, which is what I was fine for me for my birthday celebration because I wanted something low key and inexpensive. Our total for 9 people (this includes 2 small children) was ~$140, not including tips, so not bad at all for dinner! There is parking in front, but that fills up quickly from the nearby dessert and boba places, but you can also find more parking around the corner too! Chance find and what a good one at that! We were seated in a mostly empty restaurant, but a lot of people came in for pick up orders. We ordered the rare beef pho and I got the grilled chicken & imperial roll with vermicelli. One thing I noticed was that there are no small or large size bowls options of pho on the menu--it's just one size. Our orders came quickly and right away our bowl of noodles were pretty big. It may be normal, but other restaurants offer small and large sizes, this place has just one size. I thought the portion was generous; lots of noodles and meat & the broth was very flavorful. The chicken bun was also very good, served with a nice balanced portion of lettuce. I added the sauce, mixed it and it was so delicious. It's misleading that the menu listed grilled chicken, but it was like a roasted leg quarter minus the drumstick. The skin was crispy. This is going to be my new go-to spot for pho. This restaurant located in Outer Sunset nearly had all its tables filled on a foggy Wednesday afternoon. For lunch, my friends and I decided on wanting soupy Vietnamese dishes where the menu had translations both in English and Chinese. Two of my friends ordered Bun Rieu, while my other friend and I ordered different types of Rare Beef Noodle Soup (I got the one with Beef Balls also). Our orders arrived pretty quickly, and they were accepting of a request for soy milk as a side drink also. The soup broth was one of my favorites in SF. I believe that the noodle to meat and veggies ratio was a bit much, but it was worth the price. The fresh rice noodles were typical of the Vietnamese dish, and I had enough food for leftovers for the next day. Typical of a Vietnamese restaurant, there were sauces and condiments ready on the side, while they handed us our bean sprouts and fresh mint leaves beforehand. I yelp searched "chicken pho" for my 76 year-old Vietnamese mother, so when this restaurant popped up, I had to give it a try! Upon arrival, I noticed it appeared to be Chinese owned and operated, which initially made me question how authentic the pho would be, but wow, was I wrong! Both the pho ga (chicken) and pho bo (beef) were delicious. As someone nearly 50 years old, I've never had a restaurant excel at both soups under the same roof, but they nailed it. Even my mom, who has high standards, agreed that it was really good! On top of the great food, the pricing was very reasonable, making the meal even more enjoyable. I shared my compliments with the waitress and asked if the cooks were Chinese or Vietnamese...turns out, it's both! This experience was a great reminder not to judge a book by its cover. Pho was the perfect meal on a cold sf day. We all got the pho ga and it was so healing and delicious. The chicken with skin i believe us dark meat while if you don't get skin, it's white meat.
