We made the mistake and came here at 2:30pm. I said "mistake" because they literally told us that we had to go while we were still eating...! Literally still eating our food, drinking our drinks, the waitress who was trying to be nice, told us that they are pretty much closing and we need to pack up and go. The shrimp Blankets were honestly delicious. And papaya salad-it was good too. Soup was kinda bland. But nothing is as bad as someone telling us we need to go in the middle of our meal! It sucked that we had to stop eating, wrapped up our food to go, so they can close the restaurant so they can eat! Lol If you want to try. Make sure you check the time first!!! LOL read more

I frequent this location, and have always had a great experience. Tonight I visited for Iftar. My family and I were fasting and our server brought us dates, soup, and a passion fruit tea to break out fast with on the house. Our dishes came out piping hot 3 minutes prior to breaking our fast. The service is always amazing and tonight was no exception. The noodle wave staff is always so gracious and respectful. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant. read more

If I could put zero stars I 100% would, not only do they charge almost $2 extra (each) for simple ingredients like peanuts and green onion that should be in the meal already, but also this last time I got my Food to go as I was halfway through eating my chicken pad Thai when I noticed a huge almost 2 inch piece of glass in my food! Just absolutely unacceptable if I hadn't been paying attention I could've swallowed the shard of glass. One of the better locations of this ever growing Dallas halal chain, the draw lies in their constant menu and consistent experience offered to customers old and new as they experience what this Chef owned business has to offer. In terms of service, they have definitely been affected by the pandemic, but these smaller locations outside the more popular locations such as Richardson have wait staff which are certainly busy, but quick to serve. They did have some trouble with the seasonal menu but some sign language negotiation smoothing things over. Now I'll be upfront, I'm not particular about Noodle Waves food. It's more Thai inspired flavors and takeout cuisines most of the time than true Thai cooking. The biggest issue is that different locations serve you different dishes even when you order the same item down to the spice level. Of all of them, this location has served me the food that was most consistent, although their portions are on the weaker side. Across the suburbs, you'll have no trouble finding yourself one of these Noodle Wave locations for an amicable meal, and this location is no exception. I ordered beef pho noodle soup and shrimp spring rolls for pick up. Once I took them home, I started eating and noticed 1) that the serving size was very small for the pho and the amount of broth barely covered the noodles/meat in the bowl. 2) the beef in the pho was chewy and hard, massively overcooked. 3) the spring rolls had been advertised with peanut sauce for dipping but I received a spicy clear fishy sauce that was absolutely disgusting and I had to throw it all away. 4) the shrimp in the spring roll was slimy and felt raw in my mouth. On my last visit I had their pepper steak. I can honestly say it was the best I've ever had in any restaurant. The portion size was large, and the vegetables were perfectly crisp-tender. And unlike some Thai restaurants I've visited, it contained plenty of beef; and I don't mean plenty of low-quality, stringy, or gristly beef either. I've been to Asian restaurants that serve their pepper steak with a gloppy sauce that contains way too much cornstarch. I'm happy to say that the sauce on my pepper steak had just the right consistency to be soaked up by the rice. I've also had a couple of curry dishes and some egg rolls at this location. They were among the best I've had anywhere. In closing, I'd like to make a comment about the staff. When you walk in the door they won't ignore you. This is one of my favorite go to locations in the area. The food is always delicious and you get a lot of value for your money here. My favorite items are the Yellow Curry and the Pad See Ew. The ice creams are also very good as well. The dumplings are a great appetizers. The new chicken puffs are also good, very flavorful. You get a lot of food here. Enough for left overs if you portion it out. I usually can't help it and just eat it all. Take our orders as well and dine in is always the same quality. Very consistent and great portions. The staff is friendly and nice. There is always seating in here when I come for dinner. I've only done lunch take out but it's very crowded during lunch. The parking lot is on the smaller side but parking hasn't been an issue for me. I definitely recommend if you are looking for good Thai food. read more

I believe they are under new management since the last time we went (over 2 years?). Everyone was super friendly. The restaurant is not very big, so there was a bit of a wait during dinner time on a Friday. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The ambiance was a bit loud since it was packed, but there is music playing. I did feel that everyone kind of fit tightly though. We ordered the papaya salad, the Tom yum noodle soup, and thai tea. I was really excited to try them for the name noodle wave. The menu is decent and caters for all. We tried the papaya salad, to me it lacked that flavor and wasn't happy as it tasted a little salty. Then we ordered the Singapore rice noodles again wasn't authentic to what I have had from years in the USA. The noodles was kinda soggy and sticky, the texture was really off to me! A bit of a mixed bag from a recent delivery from Noodle Wave. My girlfriend and I tried the spring rolls, pad thai, and beef panang curry with fried rice. Here's the rundown: Spring rolls: Very nice, plump rolls in rice paper, the veggies were crisp and delicious and the shrimp were fresh and firm. A nice starter. Beef panang curry with fried rice: As another reviewer had commented, the fried egg (I had ordered extra) seemed to be added as an afterthought, making for an interesting texture in the rice. The curry itself was pretty good, with a hearty spice from "spicy" (3 out of 4 on their spice scale), and the meat was plentiful and tender. Pad thai: Frankly, a major disappointment. It was overly sweet, and had an off taste, almost like there was some component that was a bit past its expiration date. Both of us were one bite and done. It was unlike other pad thai I've had, and not in a good way. I'd definitely get the curry again, but I'm likely to steer clear of the pad thai. read more

I eat lunch here about every 6 weeks with a buddy. Their food is notable for its freshness. The veggies in the dishes are all crisp and flavorful, which in Pad Thai for instance can be hard to pull off. I always order the lunch special, you get 2 1/2 entrees, an egg roll, soup (every order gets soup at lunch) and ice cream for desert. The entrees vary depending on the day, sometimes one is a curry, so if you don't like curry make sure of the days entrees before you order. They have daily lunch specials during the week which come with amazing soups that we've never been able to replicate at home and a choice of delicious ice creams. Try the cinnamon or coconut. We also love the roti curry. For noodle dishes, we love the pad see eew, pad Thai and the laad nad. My husband often orders the lunar fried rice made with their delicious green curry and a fried egg on top. Honestly though, we've never had anything there we don't like. Tony is our favorite waiter. Do you think halal restaurants should provide a prayer space? Normally I wouldn't talk about anything other than the usual subjects of my posts: food, ambiance, pricing, location, etc. As a Muslim, I believe having a welcoming attitude towards prayer at halal restaurants is essential. During a recent visit to Noodle Wave in McKinney, I was disappointed when they suggested we pray outside in the 100+ degree weather, even though there were quiet corners indoors. It was scorching hot, and their reasoning, mentioning "white people" being uncomfortable, was disheartening. While the waitress was polite, the experience was dampened. I've been to non-Muslim-owned restaurants that accommodated prayer requests with kindness. I understand space constraints, but allowing us to discretely pray in a corner would be appreciated. Crab Cream Cheese Rangoon: Creamy heaven! The homemade dough was perfection, and it didn't have a strong seafood flavor. 10/10 Herbal Chicken Siracha Fried Rice: Bursting with flavor and a perfect kick! It had a delightful crunch, and they even offered extra Sriracha on the side. 7/10 Crispy Chicken Green Curry: A blissful balance of creaminess and spiciness. The chicken's crispiness complemented the curry's richness impeccably. 8.5/10 Spicy Crab Noodle: Decent, but the flavors were somewhat basic, akin to regular pad Thai. 6/10 Overall Rating: 2/5 Prices: 4.5/5 (reasonable for Dallas standards - we paid $59 for generous portions) Location/Aesthetic: 4/5 The aesthetic was average. I have been on an Asian food kick of late, and although I have yet to try the Pad Thai here, that dish has definitely become a favorite, at Sticky Rice, Lazy Dog, and Rice Express. I stopped by for the first time today and ordered the Crispy Chicken Green Curry, spice level 2, and Chicken Egg Rolls. My first green curry, and I found the dish to be very good, and I would get it again. The chicken eggrolls were good. Online reviews and pictures suggest efforts are being made to elevate the experience, therefore, I am anxious to try again. The service was good, waiter jokingly asked if I was a Texan when I mentioned spice level 2. He recommended level 5! We laughed and after some deliberation and not knowing what to expect the decision was made to stick to level 2. Turned out to be about right for my taste; level 3 might have been okay as well. Tried the bento box with Mongolian beef and almond siracha chicken. The chicken was good but I felt the beef was too thickly cut. Made it a bit chewy and took away from the flavor. My husband and I are addicted to Noodle Wave. We probably order from here at least once a week and are never disappointed. We love that you can make pretty much anything vegan friendly and the taste is always amazing. My favorite dish is the pineapple fried rice, while my husband loves the Pad Thai and spring rolls. One thing that's inconsistent is the spice. A level 1 today might feel like a level 2.5 tomorrow.
